man also that date mix-up at the end of season 2 ep 1. So, Catherine organizes a blind date for Camille AS WELL AS Richard babysitting for Fidel, has Richard wait for Fidel OUT ON THE PATIO, and then sends Camille out there with vague instructions to go 'find her date'. You cannot tell me Catherine didn't do that on purpose. You can't tell me she didn't know EXACTLY what she was doing there. She ABSOLUTELY wanted to see how they'd both react if she put them in that situation and, assuming I know Catherine's perceptiveness well enough, I'd guess the answer she got from that was 'o yea they're definitely in love smh'

Pairing: Camille/Richard
If she were to use Richard’s way with words, she would probably say that she just… snaps.
After all, Richard finally told them that he has decided to make his stay on Saint Marie “permanent” and that he will actually be looking for a house soon, so there should be time to discuss other things as well…
She half-expected it, she certainly wished for it, but it’s been three weeks and Richard has made no move to tell her that he considers to make other things permanent as well, or rather, to change some things.
So, Camille has decided to take matters into her own hands.
Now, she knows Richard well enough to know she can’t be too straightforward. That would probably make him run in the other direction as fast as he can, which is not something she is interested in, although she would have nothing against him chasing her the beach down once more, one of these days…
But first things first. When it comes to what she’ll be wearing… she would like to pick the dress from the Erzulie festival, but she’s chosen Sunday morning for her… attempt, and that would be a bit too much and probably only clue him in as to what is happening earlier than she would wish, so it will be one of her plainer dresses… yellow, she thinks; Richard always looks appreciative when she is wearing yellow.
Then, what her plan is going to be… normally, she likes to do things spontaneously, but this is Richard Poole, so it can hardly be a bad idea to make one.
Well, there is one thing she’s wanted to do for quite a long time (several things, if she is being honest, but those will have to wait).
And so, she arrives at the shack on this Sunday morning, determined as she’s ever been.
Richard is reading on the terrace – although she is pleasantly surprised to find that he’s actually rolled up his sleeves, and that there is no tie in sight. He even looks up and greets her with a smile, which is all the encouragement she needs.
“Is there news?” he asks when she arrives but she shakes her head.
“No, but I just remembered you still owe me something…”
He frowns and puts the book aside, because if you tell Richard Poole he has failed to do his duty, he will immediately jump into action. “I don’t know what you mean…”
“Sully’s wake” she reminds him, stepping into the shack and simply turning on the radio. “You just left me standing there when the music changed… there” finding a channel that plays appropriate music “That should be slow enough…”
“Camille, I really don’t think…”
She turns around. “Come on, Richard, there’s no one around to see us, it will be fine…”
He swallows and looks at her. Somehow, she has the feeling that they’re standing at the edge of a precipice, even though of course it’s not as dramatic as all of that.
“Camille” he suddenly declares “If you don’t stop now —”
And Camille knows that he means it. This is it, the moment she either chooses to do this or step back or never have the chance again.
It shouldn’t be this easy, and for Richard it probably isn’t, but Camille –
Well –
She did decide she was done with all this uncertainty, and she will be.
She steps up to him. “Alright then I won’t.”
He swallows again. “Camille –“
“Dance with me Richard” she tells him and finally, he takes her in his arms and does just that, looking rather shocked at his own daring.
It was a good idea to come here instead of dragging him to La Kaz – Richard, when they are alone, turns out to be an actual good dancer; she guesses he must have had ballroom dancing lessons at one point.
“Richard?” she eventually asks.
“Yes?” he manages to reply, looking rather like a deer caught in headlights, but she will soon fix that.
“You know” she allows her hand to slide from his shoulder to his breast “You said I should stop back then, and I didn’t, so…”
“We are definitely dancing” he agrees, which is probably all he is capable of at that moment.
“Yes we are” she confirms, and then she lets her hand glide up to cup his neck. He jumps ever so slightly at that, but makes no move to extradite himself from her embrace, or step away. “But I think right now we should be doing something else.”
She has to give him credit – he doesn’t ask what, or why, or even how, but his lips meet hers without any hesitation, and she feels a part of her that has never been touched before sing out and knows that all will be well.

Really feel like Amma would try to flirt and come on towards Rust, much more than Camille. Love that you’re going for a platonic relationship between Camille and Rust.
oh amma would 100% flirt with rust, not because I think she’d find him attractive in his 2012 appearance but bc I think she’d be intrigued by him and want him bc camille is hanging around him. I think camille would fuck rust but she wouldn’t love him (similarly to her relationship with richard)

Nesha Watches/Rewatches Death in Paradise
I feel like a lot of people I know don’t/didn’t/never watched or heard of this show. Idk what the last season I saw was, but I know that I never made time to get back to it some time after it got put onto BritBox. Idek if that still exists, but I have been laying in bed for days, taking handfuls of pills and watching Puppy Dog Pals. I finally actually got up and washed up, and I feel humanish, so I’m gonna rewatch all the seasons I’ve watched and hopefully catch up on the ones that I’ve missed. This is what I intend to do in my free time, in between the killing of myself that will be taking place to pay my bills after I get my car back from the shop. If you see me posting, that don’t mean I am available, so don’t count on me being able to respond to replies, messages, or asks. I probably can’t afford a single off day to catch up with my bills and that will begin as soon as the car shop calls, hopefully later today.
About this show... I feel like I saw every single British Black person I knew pass through there at some point. It’s a cop show, but they on this island. There’s a white lead who is usually side by side with a Black partner, and they have a Black team doing the investigations. Has very cheesy moments, but ultimately I enjoyed it a lot before, and even whenever they switch cast members, even leads, I am able to get used to most of the replacements. If you can stomach a cop show, it’s good. Probably the most Black people I’ve seen in something from over there, aside from Michaela Coel joints. I usually like the dynamic between the leads, as well. Though, my faves were the originals.
I’ll never get over what the writers did to me with them.

Rewatching Death in Paradise and I had a bit of an epiphany about the hotel room scene in s1ep2 where Camille confronts Richard about him being dismissive towards her.
I had to think for a bit about why he'd be dismissive towards her in the first place, but I think it comes less from an assumption about Camille's abilities as it does about her intent. As we know from Richard's history, he is accustomed to being bullied, othered and disrespected in his line of work by his colleagues. I would say at the point in which he comes to Saint Marie, a completely new environment in which he is totally out of his element, he is on the defense and expecting it. I'm sure it doesn't help that his first professional 'friend' ends up being someone just trying to charm him into not noticing her homicide.
So yeah at this point I think Richard is assuming, particularly from the way she's teased him already that he doesn't yet know how to interpret, that Camille is out to get him like the others, so he does what I would assume he always does with colleagues that intentionally try to dismiss and invalidate him (which he doesn't realize Camille isn't and has never tried to do unless he's directly challenged her)
So when he asks about the 'cleaning in progress' label on the door, Camille is already feeling quite defensive herself from the way he's treated her (he doesn't realize this) and rallies back, "Do you really think that's important?" and Richard, assuming she's doing what other colleagues have, snaps back, "Well I wouldn't ask if I didn't think it was, would I?". They're both being reactionary because they're feeling defensive.
But I don't think Richard gathers this until she forces him into a room and tells him EXACTLY what she's capable of, EXACTLY what she's accomplished, "I could almost certainly beat you in a fist fight", and that because of it he'd better learn to respect her. And he doesn't correct her. He shuts up. Does as he's been asked and treats her with due respect from then on. But for someone who was feeling defensive beforehand and assuming his partner was trying to invalidate him, this is a very quick emotional heel turn to take.
And I realized it's because that confrontation makes him understand he and Camille aren't all that different, and he realizes that by already being defensive with her he's inadvertently done what so many other bullies have done to him as a very possibly ND-coded character who doesn't think or act in allistic/neurotypical terms. Perhaps it's because her confrontational speech is entirely composed of reminding him of her accolades, and he's like why is she doing this, I KNOW she's capable, I'M the one who's intimidated by her! Why is- OH.
None of this is exactly spelled out, it's more subtext I think, but I was so touched to kind of happen on this realization finally, this earliest point when Richard, at least, sees their kinship and how they've had to deal with similar invalidation (not the same, but similar) and is able to recognize the part he inadvertently played in making her feel defensive. He doesn't argue, he doesn't try to downplay things he said or did, he just changes his behavior as she asks him to do from then on and, though not as fully as he will later, starts to understand that Camille isn't out to invalidate him either.
But I think that interaction is more meaningful to the both of them than they realize in the moment, because they're both meeting each other where they are. Camille tells Richard exactly what he did wrong and exactly what needs to happen to make things better rather than using it against him later; Richard respects her boundaries without question, things both of them need to feel safe and are able to offer to each other. THEM. THEM.

In this half-hour special, it's multi-award-winning actor and director, Michael Sheen, who is to face the grilling of a lifetime from our unique collective: no subject is out of bounds, no question is off the table. Expect chaos, delight, revelation. Anything can happen.
Michael Sheen says: “I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest on The Assembly. It’s such a fresh and exciting idea and I can’t wait for what I’m sure is going to be a surprising and challenging experience. I really don’t know what to expect, which is both exhilarating and a little bit terrifying.”
The format is an adaptation of French show Les Rencontres Du Papotin (a.k.a The A Talks), which launched in 2022 on France 2, and quickly became their most watched unscripted show of the year, and has since been adapted in Spain, Denmark and Poland.
They saw the likes of Emmanuel Macron and Call My Agent’s Camille Cottin, face neurodivergent journalists. Gone was the flattery and junket PR of the usual celeb fare; in its place, a mix of mischievous prodding, leftfield quizzing and profound exchanges. The mantra: ‘no filter’.
The superstars left completely off guard: iconic actors asked about a driving ban or the death of a parent, the President asked if it’s really role model behaviour to marry one’s teacher.
The show comes from Michelle Singer and Stu Richards' Rockerdale Studios, creators of mischievous content which seeks to put disabled agency at its heart. Stu is also known for co-creating and writing the BBC Three comedy, Jerk, and Rockerdale are most known for Channel 4’s Mission: Accessible.
Together with the BBC, Rockerdale has worked with national and local autistic and neurodivergent organisations to ensure every element of the series works for and with autistic and neurodivergent voices.

It’s a feel-good stand out entertainment show unlike anything viewers have seen before. Richard had gotten rather used to Camille showing up at his shack to complain about the blind dates her mother had set up for her. Truth be told, he was always a little too happy that she had chosen to see him at the end of the night instead of – but not that this would lead to anything, so he usually just provided her with beer and a glass of wine and made what he hoped were sympathetic noises even if he had never been the best at comforting people.
It seemed like the man of the week (as he had secretly come to call them) had been so full of himself that Camille had scarcely gotten a word in. Now, this was a complaint Richard had heard when it came to himself, as well, but he liked to think that he was always careful to eventually hear people out, and he didn’t think Camille had ever had a problem when it came to speak out when he was talking, anyway.
“I’m just…” she sighed. “The truth is, I’m tired. Some of them are alright, but there’s no spark. So we just sit and talk and pretend we’re having a really good time, which we probably would have if this wasn’t a date, but of course it is, so there are all these expectations holding you back.”
That, at least, Richard could empathize with.
“It’s just – normally, I get the impression that we understand one another, that there’s just nothing, and that we should just have a nice evening. But instead – well – you tell them goodbye and then they expect that they’ll have a good ending for such a date, and honestly, I’m getting tired of explaining myself.”
Richard frowned, being rather unsure what Camille meant. In his admittedly limited experience, dates usually ended rather awkwardly, by him accompanying the lady to her door and wishing her good night. He had no idea what someone like Camille would consider a “good ending” unless – no, no, he knew she was French, but – he really hoped he wasn’t blushing. But no, he liked to consider her a friend (although sometimes – no, he most definitely wouldn’t go there) and she would know better than to make such allusions. She knew his limits. So, whatever she meant, it would be something that was – well, he supposed romantic and swashbuckling and all these kinds of things he simply wasn’t capable of even in his wildest dreams.
So, he supposed he would just have to ask.
“Okay, show me.” It was probably not the most succinct of questions, but he supposed it was enough.
But apparently not. She looked at him. “Sorry?”
“Okay, show me” he repeated, feeling rather impatient. Certainly, considering what they had been talking about, Camille had heard him before but was pretending not to just to annoy him, as she had often done before. “Show me how you would expect a date to end, then.”
“You mean a proper date?” He would probably have noticed something was off, only that her eyes were glittering in that very distracting way once more, and he could feel himself swallow heavily as he told his heart to calm down.
He nodded, being unable to answer in any other way.
And then, just like that, Camille Bordey kissed Richard Poole.
Yes. Camille. Kissed. Him.
And he had no idea what to do.
For a moment or two.
Then he found himself responding – if he had had the time to think about it he would have claimed that it would have been incredibly impolite not to do so, although naturally, at the moment, he was incapable of rational thought – and his arm wrapped around her and –
He didn’t know how much time had passed before she drew back, laughing softly at his expression. “That’s how a good date should end.”
“I – I – I see” he stuttered. “So –“
“So now you owe me a date” she said matter-of-factly.
“What?” he blinked.
“You already got the ending to a good date, so now you owe me one. That’s just logical.”
For the life of him, he couldn’t see how.
But she suddenly grew self-conscious – a very strange sight – and then quietly said, “You don’t have to, of course. I just thought… well, when you… reacted… I….”
“Camille, I would love to take you out on a date.” He had no idea how he had managed to say it out loud, but thankfully, he head.
“You would?”
