Hailey, Emma, and Jacques walk into the lobby of the gym building. The room looked sleek and professional, white walls with screens behind the counter had the day’s scheduled matches displayed on them. There was a larger screen in the back of the room that displayed the Paldea gym logo. A matching one was set into the middle of the tiled floor. It was relatively quiet, a few trainers hanging around the sitting area.

The three of them approached the secretary’s desk. There was a man wearing a suit behind the desk.

“Hello there. How can I help you?” He asked.

Jaques stepped forward.

“Is the gym leader around? We were hoping to speak with them.” He asked, twirling the tassels of his scarf around in his hand.

The secretary checks something on his rotom phone.

“She should be available now. One moment, I’ll see if I can get in contact with her for you.” He says.

“Thank you.” Jacques replies. He takes a step back from the secretary counter.

A few minutes later, the elevator doors behind the desk open and an older lady walks out. She looked like she was somwhere in her late 50s-early 60s, and had dark skin. She wore a black sequined dress that came down to her knees, and a puffy black coat with gold accents. She wore similarly matching gold sneakers and a black baseball cap with gold accents. Her white hair was pulled through the back of the cap, and came down in a style that resembled a skeletal forearm.

“That must be the Gym Leader.” Hailey assumed.

“She looks like she’s somebody’s cool grandma.” Emma commented.

“She probably is.” Hailey replied.

“I wish I had a cool grandma.” Emma sighed.

“While we are on the subject My Lady, I believe that your mother Ms. Grace would be someone who people consider to be cool, is she not?” Jacques asked her.

Hailey giggled. “Yes, I guess you are right. My mom is pretty cool.”

At the same time, the secretary walks up to the older lady.

“You needed to see me?” She asks him.

“Yes, someone is here who asked if you were around this evening.” He replied.

“It’d better not be someone Geeta sent over, she knows it’s my night off.” She grumbled.

“No ma’am. The request came from those trainers over there.” He gestures with a jerk of his head, as to not point and appear rude.

She looks over at the three trainers waiting over by the lobby desk.

“Thank you. I’ll take care of it.” She thanks the secretary before heading over to them.

They notice her approaching and wrap up their conversation.

“You’re the Ghost Gym Leader, correct?” Hailey asked.

“Yep, that’s me. The name is Ryme, and I'm known as the MC of RIP!" She introduces herself.

“Didn’t I see you little lady in La Primera’s match a few days ago?” She asks her.

Hailey smiles awkwardly, embarrassed. “Yes, that was me. I’m one of Kalos’ Neo-Champions, Hailey.” She introduces herself.

“We got ourselves a hot shot over here! What brings you all they way out here?” Ryme exclaims.

Jacques steps forward from behind Hailey to say something, but as he is about to, one of Rhyme’s pokeballs from her pocket opens up. A large, white, dog-like Pokémon emerges, and excitedly rushes over to jump up on him. Its size catches him off guard and he topples backwards onto the ground.

“Woah!” He exclaims.

This does not stop the Pokémon, which immediately climbs onto him and stands on his chest, its bone tail wagging excitedly.

“Ahhh…..hello there……” Jacques says nervously. He slowly brings a shaking arm up to try and gently scooch the Pokémon off his chest.

“You’re a friendly ghost, aren’t you?” He asks it, trying to remain calm.

It gives a low “Boof” in response, along with the sound of crunching bones.

“There’s a nice pokemon…..now…..would you kindly step off of me?” He asked it again, pushing it lightly with a shaking hand.

At this moment, ghimighoul crawls out from under the scarf by Jacques’ shoulder. It makes its little jingly noise that catches the other Pokémon’s attention. It bounces off of Jacques’ chest to inspect this new sound, and he sits up.

“Ah-haha! I don’t think I’ve seen Houndstone that excited to meet a new trainer before.” Rhyme laughs.

“I see. Ghost Pokémon tend to be somewhat..….attracted to me.” Jacques comments.

Ryme thinks she sees a pale glow from his eyes for a second, but she blinks and it’s gone.

Ghimighoul, now standing on Houndstone’s snout, jumps off back onto Jacques lap.

It makes a discontented jingle, and he looks down at it.

“Oh! My friend, I’m sorry. I must have landed on you when I was knocked to the ground. You have my deepest apologies.” He apologizes to it. With a satisfied jingle, it climbs back up onto his shoulder, sitting just above the mega brooch that was pinned to his scarf. He gets to his feet.

“I don’t believe I introduced my friends.” Hailey tells Ryme.

“This is Emma.” She introduced the girl standing next to her. She had an Espurr at her ankles. She gave a polite smile and wave.

“And this is Jacques.” She introduced the man in the scarf. Houndstone was still sniffing around his vicinity.

“Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” He dipped his head in a small bow.

I have 2 confess

A while ago I drew a speculative koraidon "terastar" form, and then I was gonna draw a miraidon one too but I just lost motivation for like no reason and never finished. and soon it will be too late to speculate... alas

Here it be

The idea was their designs were taking their paradox names 'winged king' and 'iron serpent' to the extreme, in that koraidon's feathers grow out to make more pairs of big impressive wings and miraidon's electricity would stretch out longer from its tail and make it twice as long

The idea for these terastar forms are that koraidon, miraidon and terapagos would be the only ones with em (ogerpon's whole deal is unique to her)

The forms would be locked only to the story like eternamax eternatus because they'd have Absolutely Insane Fucking Ridiculous stats

Tbh I now do not think koraidon and miraidon are going to get special pretty new forms like this. But then again, I did not think anything like paradox pokémon were gonna happen and it would be very cool to be proven wrong again...

And that one leaker guy did say something about a certain battle was gonna cause a lot of hype i think? So Who Knows. We all will know very soon I suppose (hey that rhymed)

Sanderstober 2022

Upon request (and because you're all amazing at them), I have a NEW Sanderstober art prompt list for you this year! Feel free to do one, some, or all of these prompts for October! Take em in any order you feel & use the hashtag #Sanderstober2022 if you’d like me to see your creations! Hope you all have fun with these if you take em on!! 🎨

Day 1: Starting out with a traditional classic, take a character from media or OC and draw how they look on September 30th vs. how they look on October 1st.

Day 2: Time to shine the light on the articles of clothing we all love to bust out in the fall, by CHOOSING one of those items and making a monster based on it!

Day 3: It is announced, beyond all reason, that they’re going to add a NEW suit to the deck of cards, in addition to hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades. Disregarding how much this would destroy the structure of most card games, what is this new suit called and what does it look like??

Day 4: Centaurs are half-man, half-horse. Draw another kind of fantastical creature, that’s half-man, half ANOTHER kind of animal! - Idea from Dominic!

Day 5: Take a typical children’s nursery rhyme… and create a thriller poster based off of it…

Day 6: Design Challenge - create a stylish look (clothes, makeup, whatever you like) based off a candy of your choice!

Day 7: There’s a Pokemon based off almost everything. But not everything. Take a random object, animal, etc. that a Pokemon hasn’t been based off yet… and create one, complete with a corresponding name!

Day 8: Take any piece of Western animation and re-imagine it in anime form. - Inspired by an idea from Dominic!

Day 9: Take any traditional Halloween monster and think about what TikTok challenge they probably would take on. Doesn’t even have to be a real one!

Day 10: A dabbling in minimalism. Take one or several characters from one of your favorite pieces of media, and try to depict them using only simplistic shapes. See if you can get people to guess the characters or show/movie/video game from the shapes and color schemes.

Day 11: Always a fave prompt of mine - depict a pleasant fall-related memory of yours using solely fall-related colors (red, orange, yellow, brown, etc.)

Day 12: What if Halloween took place at another time of the year than Fall?? How might the holiday look different? Are there any traditions that might change? Any imagery? Any houses decorated differently??? Depict any aspect of the holiday that may look different!

Day 13: Another fave of mine - Take ANY Disney character and depict what they might look like as a superpowered individual in the Marvel universe.

Day 14: It happened again. This time, they announced a NEW chess piece that would be added to the game of chess. Why are they doing this?? Once again, disregarding how much of a wrench this throws into the gameplay of chess, WHAT does this new piece look like? What is it called? And how does it move on the board?

Day 15: Re-imagine any Halloween monster or thriller movie baddie… as a character in a fantasy world…

Day 16: Using just inspiration from items found in your kitchen, use them to create a flag for a new country - Idea from Tammy!

Day 17: Draw a dynamic duo in a dynamic couples costume (Jessie & James from Pokémon as the front and back half of a horse, etc) - Idea from Cambria!

Day 18: My first prompt where I can take Inspo from Our Flag Means Death! Take any character from pop culture who isn’t a pirate… and design what they might look like in a pirate universe. Basically… pirate-ify them.

Day 19: Taking inspiration from the Haunted Mansion paintings, where the top of the painting looks pleasant only to then pan down to show the situation is much more grim (give it a Google if you need a reference!), create your own version of one of those paintings! - Another idea from Cambria

Day 20: The return of a classic… take any character(s) from a piece of media and depict them in the style of a Tim Burton character. (Sorry, I just love what you all create with this prompt!)

Day 21: Take any social media app… and turn it into a person.

Day 22: Take any Halloween-esque or Fall-based item/imagery and depict it in the iconic style of a famous painter!

Day 23: Oh my god, they’re doing it again!! Out of the blue, Hasbro announces that Clue will now be adding a NEW guest to the game of Clue who will be joining all the other color-based guests. Why does this keep happening?? Please create this guest and what their colorful name shall be!

Day 24: Take a loved pet from any point in your life, and turn them into a MONSTER.

Day 25: Take one of the characters from our videos (or a character from another piece of your fave media if you prefer!) and draw them with an animal that you think matches them perfectly! - Idea from Cambria!

Day 26: I’m such a sucker for this prompt: Depict characters from one of your fave animated shows in the STYLE of another animated series

Day 27: Since this would probably make Remus happy… if it makes you comfortable, draw a nightmare you remember having in your life, and instead of it happening to you, depict it happening to Remus

Day 28: Since we did the opposite prompt earlier… take a superhero and depict who they’d be in any fairytale you think suits them…

Day 29: Take any Halloween/ Scary movie monster and draw a suit/dress/suitdress inspired by their style and color palette!

Day 30: At long last, it’s revealed, the reason behind ALL THESE ADDITIONS to traditional games (the fifth card suit, the new chess piece, the additional Clue guest) was ONE NEW EVIL MASTERMIND! Based on your past creations for Day 3, Day 14, and Day 23, draw what this mastermind looks like and give them a name!!!

Day 31: In typical end-of-the-month fashion, today’s prompt is all about celebrating the reason for the season, Halloween! This year, Halloween’s PR team wants you to come up with a new catchphrase/slogan for Halloween! Please create a Halloween sign/poster with the new phrase featured!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Younger Siblings Tournament Bracket Reveal

A few things I want to mention before I reveal the bracket (and make the post really long because all the matchups will be listed in text):

Seeding of fictional characters in tumblr polls is inherently subjective. I did try to make it so that more popular characters/media would (most likely) face off against each other in later rounds, but I may be overestimating or underestimating the popularity of some characters/media, especially ones I'm not familiar with. There are some round 1 matchups that are probably a closer match but none of them are between the strongest candidates... I think.

The more niche characters will probably get obliterated in the first round as per Squimbus' Law. This is a tumblr poll and I do fully expect more popular characters to sweep, but that doesn't mean you can't encourage your friends to give your niche faves a fighting chance.

Also there are some matchups I literally just thought would be funny. Please don't take this too seriously.

Miscivious vocalist! reader x Grusha and Rika

Summary: Dating a vocalist is something but them also being a skilled Pokémon trainer is something else. Especially when their scary lizard thing stands on its hind legs...

Notes: The reader has a Koridon for context on the scary lizard thing 💀. Wtf does it need wheels for. Also anyone else notice the hashtag pokemon scarlet and pokemon purple?

Grusha

One of the things he admires most about you is how well your vocals shift when the moment calls for it. You could sing gently to help pokemon sleep then scream at the top of your lungs to hype up a crowd. "Why is a special talent of mine~. Maybe I'll sing you a lullaby one of these days...what was your name Grusha?" That was the first thing you've ever said to him, the first time you've meet, since then he's always had this warm feeling in his chest

His dreams already died but whenever he sees you he always sees another dream flourish and bloom. One of the many reasons he's attracted to you

He doesn't admit it but he's very cat-like hell deny missing you when your on tour. Yet his actions say otherwise. You would leave to take a bath and he would offer to bathe with you. If you were cuddling somewhere your even more screwed. He'll pin you down making sure you can't move. He also refuses to offer affection verbally yet you wake up in his arms

Speaking of tours he can only go to the shows in Paldea. He's a gym leader he can't exactly leave. So you decided to Perform with Rhyme! It was crowded but at least he got to see you do what you enjoy

He doesn't tell you he isn't that into rock until you showed him more tone downed rock. "So does that mean you don't like the music I play?!" he'll die before answering that question.

You decided to take on the gym challenge. "I'll only use one Pokemon to nerf myself" "Why do you feel the need to do that" "Why I want this to be a fair fight hmmm" you change your position of a Pokemon and you begin the battle...was your motorcycle always um...standing on two legs?

Grusha isn't a big fan of Koridon especially after you just sat there using flamethrower to one shot his whole team. "I WON" you clasp your hands together. He sighs in defeat but at least you're happy.

"So where's my commemorative picture?" You smile mischievously "you have enough pictures of me already" "this one's gonna be special" he smiles under the scarf taking a picture with you. "Nice! Showing this to Koridon" "anyone but Koridon I beg of you"

He thought his old fans were bad...DEAR GOD YOUR FANS TATTOO YOUR NAME ON THEIR FOREHEAD. "No shame~. But at least I can use them to commit a crime for me ☆" "please never go through with that"

You and him often appear in interviews together. Every time the interviewer asked you a question about your relationship he narrows his eyes and just stares at you. "So how's Grusha like at home?" "Uh..." Grusha's staring you down. "Almost the same as when he's out" that's a lie he's almost attached to you at home. You've never seen someone so addicted to hugs. "Have you ever seen Grusha without the jacket? Can you describe his figure? "He has an amazing figure" You were about to nerd out in front of him when you felt someone look at you. It was Grusha... He's going to grumble about this as you drive him home you think. You look over at him. Even with that scarf, you can still see that disappointed face. He doesn't say anything about it he just sits there...disappointed.

"What I can't compliment my boyfriend in front of others" "it's not that" he pauses for a second the aggressive motion of Koridon underneath you two. He holds onto you tighter. "I get it...FREE FANSERVICE" There's silence between you two once again. "You know what never mind..." He holds you close even more, with barely any more space in between your bodies tucking his head into your back.

Your Koridon was such a party crasher, mood ruiner, fart cloud. He dosent like Koridon. You two could be in a heated moment and he would ruin it. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT INVOLVES FOOD. Date in a fancy restaurant? He would pop out the Pokeball and eat the food you were feeding HIM. He doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying it out loud but your Koridons a Lizard cock block

The worst time he thinks Koridon ever cock blocked him was when you two were about to go to sleep and you got on top of him the moonlight hitting your face at just the right angle "good night dear" and just as you were about to kiss him you two hear rummaging in the kitchen. "HUH?! I'm gonna go check that out stay here" you walked out seeing Koridon's attempts at opening the fridge. "....are you serious" your Koridon looked pleased you opened it for him and let him pick something out before going back into his Pokeball. Walking back into the room you tell Grusha what happened. "Koridon was just trying to get a snack" "oh that's alright" ARE YOU SERIOUS?! THAT WAS THE MOST ROMANTIC YOU'VE EVER BEEN SINCE YOU CAME BACK FROM TOUR RUINED BY YOUR FREAKING SPACE LIZARD. He hated Koridon ever since. At this point, he tells you to ignore Koridon whenever you two are about to kiss. Just give him the smooch and you'll deal with it later 😾.

Whenever you're seen in public by a fan they usually just want a picture. One time someone posted where you and him were and you saw people suddenly line up in a cafe all lined up to see you. He sees you get overwhelmed and decides to lead you out of the establishment. "Hey hey-" "don't hey hey me your obviously getting stressed out" "but still I should be-" "They lead two blocks down" "oh...maybe I couldn't" "That's what I thought"

You like to sleep on him for his reaction. "What the heck are you doing" and you'd just be dead asleep. Whenever your not there his pokemon usually do that for you. Their mindset is probably, "second parents gone must give dad cuddles" sometimes they sleep on his face...not fun

Rika

She likes rock! And found your band out trying to get out of her comfort zone. She fell in love with more than just a voice that day. So she looked around your band's profile and found out you guys not only had a YouTube channel, but you were coming to Paldea! This was her chance.

You were performing when a technical error occurred, you took the chance and decided to talk to the audience. "And what might be your name sweet checks" may have been the first time she's flustered to answer her own name "Rika..." "Rika huh? That's a nice name rolls off the tongue" you get a message from staff that everything's fine and get up to continue performing. Ever since then, she's used that to fluster you. "Remember when you called me sweet cheeks?" "OH GOD"

You eventually moved to Paldea sending your parts of songs overseas to your producers and bandmates. Still meant you had to go to events with your band. Wasn't a problem till you get texts from Rika saying she missed you. "Bro your always looking at your phone you ok?" "It's just...I wanna see my girlfriend" "it's been 3 hours" "that's two days 😔" "..." they had to look up pictures of her to keep your head in the game. You always try to surprise her when you come back. Appearing behind her, waiting for her outside of gyms. Your bandmates call it laughing through the rivers of tears. She does miss you too she just doesn't say it out loud. She does try to touch you more often "Are you trying to figure out if I'm an Astral projection?!" "Are you?!" "AM I?!" You try to put your finger through yourself only to fail. Another thing Rika teases you for.

She knew you had a motorcycle like Pokemon she just didn't know how much of a cockblock it would be. She'd lay down and you'd take the chance to kiss her when Koridon pops out of his Pokeball. "OH KORIDON-" you're trying to hide Rika behind you as Koridon asks for food. She was disappointed but it won't happen twice...right? It did. You two were on a calm ride in an amusement park enjoying the view when you saw Koridon drift down toward you two. " what in the-" "HES AIR SWIMMING?!" LET HER HAVE HER KISS DAMMIT. She basically leaves Koridon's Pokeball on tables just so you and her could have intimate moments.

Speaking of Intimate moments, she pinned you to a wall in a semi-public area. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue" "Rika- you know this isn't the time or place-" "oh come on surely no harm could come from teasing my s/o a little" "MOM IS THAT Y/N?!" You look at her with an I told you so glance as the kid begins to freak out seeing their idol. "And why are they getting pinned to the wall like that?" "Let's go honey those two are occupied" you were so embarrassed. You'd get her back sometimes pinning her to the wall yourself. "Finally caught you" you've got her pinned no escape. "Oh? This is a tad unexpected-" she isn't used to being flirted with you should have known this by your first interaction with her. You usually use this to your advantage pinning her to a wall and then just making a deez nuts joke or straight up staring at her and doing nothing.

You sometimes open up your guitar case to practice when she's not around when you do practice when she's around she nearly begs to try ending up in you two singing karaoke and leaving you too wiped it even sing tomorrow.

She likes telling you to try on her stuff and wear them to concerts. "My glasses look so cute on you! Please just for today!" "I have a concert but..I'll try-" your fans made edits of you with her glasses on. Witch, she will promptly shove in your face. "Y/n with glasses is something I didn't know I needed in my life~" "DON'T READ THEM OUTLOUDDD" you cover your face with a pillow. "Hehe"
