Vincent Brooks headcanons anyone?
Loves animals. Would probably like to have a cat someday, but at the same time, he's afraid of the responsibilities and thinks he would be a bad owner. Same with children. Is probably good with them, but doesn't want to raise one because he feels he would be a bad father.
Wanted to be a therapist/animal caretaker at one point, then became a tech engineer for some reason.
Gets pretty sensitive at emotional movies and romance stories (because they remind him of Katherine) and any animal/child dying. Would probably snap at whoever would harm them. Wouldn't be able to handle any cheating story.
Probably likes mysteries and puzzle games, seeing that he's good at solving puzzles and coming up with techniques. Probably prefers retro games to modern gaming. Same with movies and music probably.
For movies/tv/books, Vincent probably likes drama and coming of age stories. Especially ones where characters make mistakes so like Breaking Bad and Scott Pilgrim. Plus if they grow from them. Also some science fiction films like Star Wars, Star Trek, Interstellar.
Dislikes showing off his talent for the most part, like singing and dancing. He feels too insecure.
A bit afraid of PDA, which is why he doesn't show much affection to Katherine and gives her a shy kiss in the true ending.
I don't think he hugs people much, but if he does, they're probably darn good hugs. If he saw one of his friends crying, he'd probably hug them.
Got bullied in his childhood. Which is partly why he blocked out memories from his school days.
Was a fairly obedient, cautious kid who was probably often peer pressured by the more adventurous Orlando.
Dislikes thrills.
Probably grew up spoiled, which explains his immature behavior in the game.
Probably majorly depressed/su!c!dal after the cheating incident and would do anything to atone for it.
Sleeps a lot, even at work.
Often drinks until he vomits, passes out. Sometimes drinks the hard stuff like whiskey.
Smoked weed at one point and then switched to cigarettes.
Deals with roaches, ants, spiders and rats a lot. Which is terrible for him because he's afraid of them.
Sometimes is a bad cook
Misses hygiene days sometimes.
Got evicted from many apartments due to lifestyle habits
Wrecked cars a lot due to his scatter brain, which is why he doesn't currently have one.
Took weeks to think about because I was wondering what kind of music Vincent would be into. He doesn't strike me as much of a music person, although I can imagine he used to jam in nightclubs and discos back in his day. So he probably has a nostalgic fondness for anything electronic and disco. He still goes to nightclubs on occasion but doesn't jam as much. Probably also relaxes to downtempo and lofi.
That's all I have for now. I'll edit this if I have anymore. Does anyone else have anymore? Would love to discuss Vincent stuff.

I headcanon that while Thorne was in high school he worked at least one bad service job
Yes! As to how he got there, hmm. Maybe his father forced him due to his misbehaviour (although his mother wouldn't like the image of their elite family amongst the peasantry). Maybe Thorne wanted more cash for his Rampion fund as a teenager and a service job is what he managed to get. He probably charmed the interviewer into it. Let's say it was something like selling retro video games, where a person buys a copy rather than downloading it straight to their netscreen. He assumes he will be able to kick up his heels and play games all day while getting paid for it.
No. There's no playing. There's only endless dealing with customers. It's terribly boring and reaches the breaking point with the angry customers. But also, many cute girls walk in, and he develops a plan. He earns based on commission--the more sales, the more money.
The gamer girls and guys that come in aren't easy to convince, because they know their stuff. But some guys come in to learn how to play so they can impress girls. Thorne does not tell them that video games skills are step 80 of impressing girls, 1 being bodily hygiene. Instead he becomes the guru, the matchmaker, the game aficionado. Problem is: he's all talk. He sells game after game and tip after tip, and these boys keep coming back saying they aren't passing the levels and girls aren't more interested in them.
Then there's the girls that come in to buy games for their 'boyfriends.' They say it with a wink and bite of the lip, and Thorne plays along and along when the same girls return and return.
Then, inevitably, his apprentice boys and the flirty girls start to come at the same time. When the boys begin to lose faith in him, he calls over the girls, ask "is it attractive when a guy plays video games?" The girl smiles, bats his arm playfully, purring "there's nothing more hot." This renews the boys' faith, and they're soon back under his wing.
Until one day, a macho looking teen slaps a game down on the counter. "Is this one good?"
"Course," says Thorne, grabbing it to swipe it under the scanner. His arm is stopped.
"Hey. I didn't say I was buying it."
Thorne sighs. He's so close to his profit goal for today and this sale will close it. "Listen man,"--he gestures over to one his regular girls, who looked disinterested while one of his boys nervously attempts to make conversation--"see those two over there? By playing this game, he impressed her so much that she begged him to be her boyfriend. Wouldn't you like that?"
Macho turns flaming red. "I AM her boyfriend!"
He stomps over to the innocent nerd, nostrils flaring. Thorne chases after just in time to catch the punch in his fist, appealing, "dude, it was a misunderstanding!"
Macho grabs Thorne's wrist, bending the metal of his portwatch. "She's MY girl!"
Thorne's watch snaps and clatters to the ground. "That was MY watch!"
And because he's mad, Thorne punches him in the face.
Thorne is never hired for a service job again.

It's the Harry Osborn fashion post nobody asked for!
I'm no expert in menswear (all info + photo examples come from VintageDancer) so take this as speculation and feel free to correct any terminology. Still, I wanted to ramble about his interesting progression of clothes choices through the classic comics.
Ditko era (1965)
An outdated look even for the time: the bowtie, brown/grey color scheme, and wide high-waisted pants with a skinny belt are all kind of 1940s/50s things. Not to mention the hair.
Tumblr media
It seems Ditko's only vision for Harry was Norman Junior. You know those eerie photos of politicians' families where the kids are dressed identically to their parents? Yeah.
Of course, once characterization catches up, there's a lot to be said about Harry's relationship with imagined "good old days" and his father's self-image.
Characterization catches up (1966)
John Romita is here and we get a flashback to baby Harry, who in contrast to his dad looks like an easter egg.
Tumblr media
On a practical level, bright colors (1) draw attention to Harry as a new main character and (2) convey time passing. But it also fits with the reveal that he's a mostly sweet kid trying too hard to conform to an aggressively traditionalist role model.
I like that the bow tie sticks around. It has old-fashioned, dweeby connotations (as probably originally intended) but it also has appropriate oddball performer connotations.
Roomates era (1966-69)
Big checkered patterns, vests, and expanded colors; a showy take on the Ivy League 50s/60s style, unless I miss my guess. A bit more modern, but still in the realm of uptight dweeb. I love how Romita made him friendly without making him less weird.
Tumblr media
It's a rather slow makeover from monochrome to bright and patterned. On a Watsonian level, it's fun to imagine that living away from his dad lets him gradually rediscover a colorful fashion sense.
The less formal at-home version of this look is a sweater or sweatervest with a collared shirt, a la baby Osborn.
The New Osborn Image (1969. nice)
Eventually both Harry and the editors get self conscious about keeping up with the times, and...
Tumblr media
This is so charmingly "repressed young adult finally has their awkward rebellious self-discovery phase halfway through college" to me. Artists love to call back to this look because lol, retro facial hair, but I think its status as a bona fide short-lived Embarrassing Phase makes it sacred.
The New(er) Osborn Image (1970-72)
Exploratory phase over, his new look is something between Mod and Peacock Revolution: long coats, double-breasted tailored jackets, colorful turtlenecks, neckerchiefs instead of ties.
Tumblr media
In my totally unbiased opinion this is the pinnacle of Harry costuming. He's found a public-facing sense of style that's fun. It's formal, but not just in a Norman-impressing way—he got here via personal experimentation and peer inspiration. It's the most joyful sartorial self-expression he ever seems to get.
Sure hope he's not about to experience personal-identity-shattering amounts of stress and tragedy!
spice up your mental breakdown by raiding your father's closet (1973)
At least, I think that's Ross Andru's angle. Harry moves back into his dad's townhouse and his clothes are uncharacteristically oversized and formless.
Tumblr media
Drop the metaphor, fill your father's shoes for real. The fur-lined coat + leather gloves in particular strike me as unnaturally Normanesque. Earlier periods illustrated his Garbage Mental Health Hygiene with untucked shirts and unfastened collars, though his hairdo is still perfectly in place because everyone knows it just grows in like that.
I think the shirt he's committed in is the first short-sleeved shirt we ever see him wear. Probably too early in history for him to be given a pair of those grippy socks.
back to basics/dadclothes (1975-on)
Harry comes back in ASM 151 with two outfits: a grey suit and tie and a plaid short sleeved shirt with jeans. This split between utilitarian business clothes/simple comfort clothes sticks around into Buscema and JMD's 90s run.
Tumblr media
This was probably meant to signal that he's more "grown up" and stable, but after everything else it just feels like a very lonely return to form and a widening fracture between public presentation and personal identity—this time self-enforced.
JMD uses the goblin costume to talk about Harry's struggles with self-image and emotional compartmentalization, but I think it works because that theme was already there in a less dramatic way. Particularly once the colors went back in the closet.
The thing about toxic performative masculinity is that it hates to admit that it's just a performance. Showy fashion can be attractive to people who've been told they flunk out of gender for physical or mental reasons because it's entirely performance (hence the art of drag) (and hence transmascs who joke they dress like silver age Harry). Also, I think it's just a fun personality trait for him to enjoy bright and meticulous dress, dangit.

Summary of a few Discord aesthetic goals I wrote today
Tumblr media
(Sorry, I can't find the demon / devil academic lady's source despite using Yandex reverse image search and trying throughout Instagram, so when you find it please let me know to credit the artist properly here...)
Hy nerts, as I went on to vibe and write much goals in my favourite Discord server instance. Wanted to highlight some more things from there that I would like to remember better.
Among them, a few Halloween costume ideas for the next three years, a few haircut choices and some career goals (still to be fully written out btw).
Halloween & furry matters
The header picture is the costume suggestion I would prefer for Halloween 2024 (or possibly 2023's if my lively things go this fast).
Tumblr media
Something akin to this moth fursuit would be great for my very own fursuit design. And would likely be used from 2025 onwards.
Target haircuts and aesthetic wardrobe hauls
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This type of short haircut where we trim much front and back hair to 3 and leave some longer section that doesn't bother too much onto the front would be epic for 2023.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for 2025 onwards, I feel this type of longer hairstyle and look would suit me better as I get to improve my makeup, bodily + facial hygiene & social skills to a decent enough degree.
Ideal / desired career details
Tumblr media
As for my preferred career, I feel like that starting as a bookstore / public library clerk, creative + technical writer / blogger or as a IT tech support backend clerk... or anything close enough to these thesis' of data processing work would be best for my working life entry.
After that I feel like being a software + hardware engineer / developer + academical historian / philosopher / mathematician / linguist... would be my best middle-scale long-term. Being the closest to a computer job person or consultant of decades and centuries past that I can muster without losing much autonomy or purpose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beyond that, I will see what else I want to do / learn / make, but be aware I probably won't be completely quiet during the "retirement" phase? After all, as I am a very creative and technical INTJ who wants to customize almost everything I come to be aware of, that should give you major hints as to what type of lifespan I seek to attain.
Thanks for caring about my ramblings btw, giving you a poll as to suggest me a actual aesthetic to prioritize more (will depend of percentages and my whims too but feel free to suggest me more than meets the seer's eye. :-) )

RMC is a fantastic YouTube channel that covers various retro computers and gaming devices, that people of a certain age can't help but be drawn in by.
I certainly remember growing up having lots of time, but no money to obtain all the magical computers and dazzling games I'd see advertised in magazines.
Tumblr media
One of the wonderful things about growing up is finally gaining the means to purchase or at least get near to these childhood objects of desire.
Neil of RMC has opened a technology museum in the UK which gives everyone a chance to get hands on with a wide range of exotic technologies and games.
Tumblr media
I had the pleasure of visiting recently, which was a decidedly surreal experience after watching the Cave's construction over the past few years.
Neil and all the volunteers have done a fabulous job in creating and running a fantastic interactive museum. Everything is in extremely clean, solid and usable condition. I've certainly been to a few more grubby technology meets over the years, but in the Cave a lot of effort has gone into making sure everything is clean and hygienic for visitors.
Tumblr media
If you live in or near the south west of England I'd very much recommend booking a session to enjoy for yourself first hand.

As therapists, we are trained to handle all kinds of patients and their various problems. We are equipped with techniques to help them through their struggles and guide them towards a better mental state. However, there is one thing that can make our job unbearable - corduroy.
Yes, you read that right. Corduroy, the fabric often associated with warm coziness and retro fashion, is the bane of our existence as demon therapists. Why, you may ask? Well, let me tell you.
Firstly, corduroy is extremely uncomfortable to sit on for extended periods of time. As therapists, we spend most of our day sitting in chairs, listening to our patients. With corduroy, every movement causes a scratchy, almost painful sensation against our skin. This can be quite distracting and makes it difficult to focus on our patients' needs.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. As demons, we are highly sensitive to textures and sensations. Corduroy, with its ridges and grooves, can trigger a heightened sense of touch and cause us extreme discomfort. It can even bring on painful flashbacks to our days in the fiery pits of hell, where we were forced to endure constant torture and torment. Needless to say, it's not ideal for creating a safe and calming environment for our patients.
On top of that, corduroy has a tendency to make a lot of noise when it rubs against itself or other materials. This can be quite distracting for both us and our patients, and can even disrupt the therapeutic process. We demons have an already tough job of suppressing our instinctual urges to cause chaos and destruction - the last thing we need is a fabric that adds to the chaos.
Moreover, corduroy is notoriously difficult to clean. As therapists, we want our offices to be clean and presentable for our patients. But with corduroy, it's a constant battle to keep it free from lint, hair, and other debris. This not only adds to our stress levels but also makes our patients feel uncomfortable and possibly even question our hygiene practices.
In a profession where we are supposed to create a calm and soothing atmosphere for our patients, corduroy presents an insurmountable challenge. It's a constant reminder of our demonic nature and can even hinder the progress of our patients' therapy. So, if you happen to visit a demon therapist and notice that their office is corduroy-free, now you know why.

Author's minimal designs, the new mosaic trends at Casa Decor 2023.
Post has been published on becoration
Author's minimal designs, the new mosaic trends at Casa Decor 2023.
Tumblr media
In the Casa Decor 2023 edition, Hisbalit will present its new mosaic trends, characterized by minimal author designs. This company is considered a benchmark in the design and manufacture of ecological glass mosaic.
The Hisbalit mosaic is present in the space AR18 (Floor 2, 31) of Raventós Arquitectura and the Bathco space “Upper West Salamanca”, designed by Egue y Seta (Floor 3, 46). The floors of the home of the future and a new concept of social bathroom are dressed in the new Lettering and Petite collections from Hisbalit at Casa Decor 2023. A luxurious edition, integrated into the exclusive offer offered by Madrid’s Golden Mile.
The coverings feature in the new social bathroom
The Bathco space, designed by Egue y Seta, is a bathroom that, as a new standard, brings back its social condition to this room. Practical, aesthetic, versatile, and universal, with the colorful sensibility of New York’s Tenement Houses. The studio was inspired by the statutes of the Tenement Act, which in New York in 1900 wanted to guarantee minimum conditions of safety and hygiene, but also of compositional harmony for the settlements that were beginning to expand in neighborhoods that were not yet touristy at the time.
In “Upper West Salamanca” they talk about the “Bathroom Act” which obliges us to give the bathroom the same level of decorative care as other noble areas of the house, in addition to returning the social and family condition that bathrooms had in ancient times, allowing the necessary surface and equipment for shared use. It proposes to include and “translate luxury” into all functional programs and all budgets.
The new social bathroom stands out for its custom-designed flooring created by Egue y Seta with two references from the new Petite collection by Hisbalit. Minimal author designs, handcrafted, that can be customized without limits. The studio combined the Diamant and Point models. Special, subtle and elegant small motifs in a hexagonal format. They fused the two references on a beige background (Unicolor 333) and chose red and black as the main colors. For the Diamant mosaic, they chose red (Unicolor 172), and for Point, black (Unicolor 101), the same color they also used to create personalized borders. To create this custom design “carpet”, 29,160 tiles were manually placed from the Hisbalit factory, located in Cantabria.
A daring and retro covering features in the water area, which incorporates a shower and bathtub. Egue y Seta opted for the ANZA mosaic from the Palm Spring Hisbalit collection for the floor, the lower part of the wall, and the front of the bathtub, simulating a colorful planter. The mid-century aesthetic mosaic, in green and red tones, is combined with a yellow border, created with the Niebla 152 mosaic from Hisbalit. They used the same reference creatively to cover the door frames of the social bathroom, the bathtub step, and also used this yellow mosaic on the floor separating the two designs. For the bathtub glass, they used Unicolor 333 mosaic in beige, the same tone they chose for the floor.
A floor with a message in the home of the future spaceship
Andreína Raventós presents at Casa Decor 2023 a surprising idea of a future home in her AR18 space. A home spaceship that lands on a planet opening its doors to nature and inviting us to imagine what our homes could be like if we continue with the dizzying technological progress we live in.
In 18 square meters, she proposes a home with everything necessary to live. Thus, in just two central modules, the complete program of a home is developed, which in turn acts as a means of transportation.
The equipment of AR18 is avant-garde design with the latest technology. It stands out for its sustainable materials such as sintered natural stone countertops, recycled textiles, and recycled glass mosaic flooring. A pavement created with the Star reference from the Textures collection by Hisbalit. A new concept that opens the doors to sensory decoration and movement within the static. Shiny, matte, smooth, rough, metallic, iridescent, pearly colors combined in white blocks that give prominence to the fundamental concept: the mixture of textures.
The Star floor integrates messages. Andreína Raventós has used the new Lettering collection from Hisbalit, typographies with mosaic. She has created the name of the future home ART18 with hexagonal tiles in black with metallic shades (Urban Chic 723), in addition to indicating the WC of her home spaceship. She has also designed original signs on the floor that indicate the visitor’s path through her space and a coat hanger for the wardrobe area.
An edition that applauds craftsmanship and nature
For the fourth consecutive year, Casa Decor maintains its commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship, characteristics for which the new collections from Hisbalit stand out. Manufactured in Cantabria with 100% recycled mosaic and natural origin pigments, they are placed manually. Each piece is touched, felt, achieving a product that transmits the emotion of those who work on it.
