Cleaning the metal

So, at the village, sometimes I do something, it happens, this summer. And, I transport there all details of old computer by firm Nixdorf. I and my brother, we take all the things apart, we deconstruct computer. And in this state – we check all details. To search for rust. It is lots of rust. And transport to the village all the details. To remove rust. I do remove from rust with a special cleaning tool. Brother buy it. It helps. It removes rust very good.

I think, I can remove rust. And I do not know, can I do it till the end of summer. When I do remove rust – I put on gas mask. And hands are defensed with rubber gloves. And, at first, I with brush do lubricate with a cleaning tool. And after - with metal toothbrush I start to rub.

And, it is lots of rust, of course. But, as I think, I can do it more or less. In some places where, rust is not deep – everything is easy and fast. And, there are places with rust that built in deep into metal. So, in this case it is much more difficult.

So, I need to push with power. And it has such orange layer inside. And, it is goes out as a crumbling dust. And in places where it is easy to remove rust – it reminds dust, or better to say, dirt, and with a water and cleaning tool remove it.

I take a notice, that some parts of computer case, are easy to bend. And I need to think - can I to make metal more strong. And to think – what to do with power block. All upper layer is in rust. I think, it is possible to remove rust. And inside everything looks in a good state. So, I think I need another power block case.

And, in main, I can say, it is goes good. Remove from rust. As, I finish I,t I think what to do next.

Computer case is normal. In some places, it is not durable. And in some place, it will stay with rust, but a little of rust points. And main rust layer - it can be removed from details. It is for sure.

And what to do with case for power adapter I do not know. It is someway all in rust. And can it be a stronger, more durable metal case. So, it is interesting. And I do not have answers yet. First, I remove everything from rust.

Small moment. It is a message from a summer period. It is published now. As I find a time for it. Slowly I am restoring my old computer.

thinking about a robotgirl in a faraday cage, kept completely disconnected except for a single cable

installing viruses on her one by one

she shivers as her defenses chase them down

but eventually one slips past, then another

soon the hostile programs overwhelm her antivirus

her fans begin to run hot as her memory is corrupted

core functions overwritten by new code

buffers overflow freely, instructions execute without thought

her system logs blush and squirm and whimper

I love ORV because it makes me ask important questions like "if humans were collectively impacted by a decimating calamity and then had to rebuild, how long would it take for esports to be a viable industry again"

#idk man 3 years sounds like a really quick turn around for a post apocalyptic society to restore a lot of the things you would need for that #like how did they get computer manufacturing and readoption to happen so fast #how many people had the disposable income for not only personal computers but also to give to gamers they like #theres so much infrastructure and disposable money and time that a lot of people would need for pro gaming to be profitable #orv #orv spoilers #kind of #if you havent read orv yet then this will probably just be nonsense

my cat just closed out the window I was watching a lesson for my class on, touchscreen computer companies don’t warn you about this

#I hadn’t considered this happening 😂#he likes to headbutt people and objects and also likes rubbing his face up against the edges of laptop screens #never a problem in the past because my old computer didn’t have a touchscreen but now I’ve realized this may be more of an issue lmaooo #more of a minor frustration considering I can easily restore windows and even then I couldn’t be angry at him #zero speaks #cats

my struggle with my computer continues.

the main struggle being "I don't know what the issue is and therefore it makes it very hard to try to fix."

Thinking so much about Chex and Alpha and Beta today. Like imagine having someone mean so much to you - be such a part of you - that even after their death they are what makes you up. To break you means to tear everything you have of them from you.

And then having to let them go. To not only say goodbye but to forget them entirely. Especially when you are made of nothing BUT memories.

I am finally getting back into gif making and I’m 100% going to finish my Daisy Jones & The Six series and finish my Kylo/Ben gifset I’ve been working on since last May! I’m really excited to get back into making things!

I have ... So many plans for my spare tech stuff!!!

For now, the ideas are:

~ Burn a lightweight version of windows 7 into a CD and make it the OS of the old laptop.

~ Use that laptop mainly for occasional torrenting + ripping Windows software and testing it (it has a built-in drive)

~ Also use that laptop to finally be able to play Dungeon Keeper 2 and perhaps even pirate Photoshop, as a treat of course

~ Get Debian on the Desktop and use it as a local NAS

~ Buy some nice HDDs for the desktop, mayhaps even a SDD for the OS if I can afford it on my own
