After Gibbous had been laid on the bed in their shared room, finding the former soldier wasn't hard. He had taken to sitting on the couple's back porch to think over what his friend had said. It was true; he couldn't keep avoiding the elephant in the room explaining to the toddler what was happening. She might have been young, but she picked things up quickly.

The fact that she could understand more of Arrow and Mina's conversation with her earlier was a testament to that.

Yet he had been trying to keep her out of the adult 'drama' as some would call it. She was too young to be stressing out over things, but trying to do so was clearly making the situation worse.

So when the hero found Light, he stared out at the woods surrounding the home until he turned an ear to show that he had heard the footsteps. The offer wasn't answered right away. Mismatched eyes still focused on the far horizon before he spoke.

"If I could be certain he wouldn't attack you on sight, I would be willing, but we both know he wouldn't listen to reason." Light looked over at his friend and sighed. "I honestly don't know if he's ever going to get past the fact that both Gibbous and I were made by Robotnik. It doesn't matter if I let Tails or Rotor root around in my cybernetics or its coding or hell, Gibbous going off on him. He can't see us as anything but an enemy..."

The usual neutral mask dropped for only a moment.

"I'm starting to wonder if contacting them was a good idea in the first place..."

"An interesting question... Although I'm not one for relationships since I'm a superior being... I must admit that Obake's intellect and Motivations truly seem to resonate with me. He's like a more intelligent Dr. Regal.

"As for who I hate on the enemy team... Probably my stupid brothers... Especially RiFT. So much power, yet he uses it to serve lower beings. What an insult..."

"Glad to know we can get along, Slur. I have always found you fascinating... But as a brilliant mind who loves potential, Eggman Nega is a man after my own heart."

I got over the grudge of him 'murdering' Dr. Eggman ever since meeting the superior Eggman Nega. That doesn't mean I don't want to show him up. What about you, Sync?"

"I think we can all assume he hates everyone equally, teammate and enemy alike. Anyway, it seems we reached our limit, time-wise. We need to get back to our plans of taking over the Multiverse."

It had been a long day for the Filisophlite, already overwhelmed by the amount of work put in front of her on day one. Already a surge of people going in and out; scans, testing, you make it. It was a busy day for the med bay and boy the pressure was on. It was shaky fingers pressing buttons- speaking about diagnosis.

Then it happened in a flash- a lot of talking. Some yelling of protests. And then Bluebird nearly collapsed due to the sheer amount of anxiety hit her; not to mention that for the most part she was working on an empty stomach. Not good. Especially for creatures such as herself that need food at some point in order to function.

Just like humans, when a Filisophlite goes without food for a while they get shakey. Clammy hands with bad coordination at times. Unfortunately it hit Cassie hard once she got a moment to breathe. And then she hit the floor. Only blinking rapidly moments later and sitting up. Blue hues meeting her higher-up's. Doctor McCoy.

"I-I don't remember, Doctor. I'm- I'm sorry-" Bluebird spoke, trying to gain full awareness of her surroundings. Did. That really just happen? Gods that's so embarrassing- and even worse. The woman felt like it was entirely unprofessional.

Man I've been pretty on it with this assessment I'm doing but have slowed right down and it is SUCH a drag, I'm so ready for it to be over... It's due tonight so hopefully I can get it done before midnight and I can go to bed at a reasonable hour. Doesn't help that I'm all weak and shakey from an iced latte I had this morning rip

luckily wisteria wasn't the sort to lash out unless a situation was really dire. she knew, technically, she was safe there in the hospital, despite the odd looks she was getting from some of the staff. but they left her alone, thankfully. she wasn't going to talk to them, that much was clear, and she knew that light wasn't falling for her little act the moment she saw that look in his eye. it had been worth a shot... at least the small sound she gave hearing about gibbous was more genuine, humored even if it died the moment he stared at her. she only sighed. "are you going to tell me i'm being ridiculous too...?"

At least the nurses would be leaving them alone. They didn't seem too keen on approaching him, and Light saw no reason to go near them. It was a win-win in his book as he smiled when his friend got a kick out of Gibbous' antics.

But he knew it wasn't going to last.

"I guess that would depend on the reasoning for it." Light put his hands into his pocket after seeing a few nurses staring but focused all his attention on Wisteria.

When it didn't seem like the heroine would be forthcoming with any more information, he took the time to examine what he could of her visible injuries alongside those on Basswood.

"If I had to guess what happened, I'm going to say he took a rather massive beating that would have been targeted at you. You have guilt because he got hurt coming to your aid, and now you're not sure how to approach the subject with him because you know he's just going to play it off." He looked from Wisteria to the door where Gibbous and Basswood were, then back to her. "I don't think it's ridiculous per se, but I do think you should have a conversation with him at some point. Now would be ideal since he can't suddenly run off on you.

"Especially right now with Gibbous using his lap as a pillow."

the years following the war have treated the newly-minted commander well, a recent promotion nog holds an abundance of gratitude for. though they’ve never directly spoken about it, nog knows well that he owes his continued success && flourishing career at least in part to captain kira. though some assignments have taken him to the far corners of the galaxy, he’s never been able to stray from deep space nine for very long.

“captain,” he greets, stepping into her office with a bright smile, “just wanted to come by to let you know that those repairs of the defiant’s warp core are complete. she’s all patched up && ready for your departure.” the news is good, of course, but nothing to write home about — certainly nothing that needed to be delivered in person — yet nog lingers in the doorway, hesitating.
