Ibara: Isn't it just! Trust me, so long as everyone plays their part in my script as they should, then this shall be a resounding success!

HiMERU: —HiMERU can hear the cynicism dripping from your words.

Ibara: A-ha-ha! ☆ It would be wonderful if everyone did as they were tasked this time around!

It isn't as if I have a grudge against any one of you either, after all!

I’d rather not hurt nor humiliate any of you right now. I won't gain a single thing in doing so.

HiMERU: —No, HiMERU doesn't think you meant any ill will by it.

Though you aren't kind either. Should you only treat others as if they were pieces on a board, HiMERU believes you will face severe retribution.

Ibara: I've already been facing that plenty, thank you very much!

I don’t know how you perceive me, but you should know that my plans have always gone astray somehow; there's always some snag or hitch that keeps it from going accordingly!

Just what am I doing wrong? I'd thought everything through, and yet it never went smoothly!

Oh, I should have never picked up His Excellency or His Highness in the first place! They're unmanageable!

Nagisa: ... Ibara, do I trouble you?

Ibara: I'm surprised you only ask so now! It feels as if I'm tossed and tugged around by you far too often in my memories, Your Excellency, especially as of late!

Nagisa: ... Sorry.

Ibara: Well, it isn’t something you need to concern yourself with. The benefits I've gained in working with everyone in Eden outweighs the headaches you've all given me.

Ibara: Rather, I'll simply account for whatever toil and trouble comes for the next scheme.

The same can be said about what happened at Reimei Academy. Though I failed to control everything and caused its ruin instead, so long as I don’t make the same mistake twice, I will remain as the Ibara Saegusa you are all familiar with.

Nagisa: ... It feels as if you're making the same mistakes as before, however.

Ibara: Don't interrupt me with needless remarks!

I worked behind the scenes of everything that happened at Reimei Academy, which kept me from having a good idea of the situation as it developed...

But no, not anymore. I have been involved with COMP from the very beginning, ensuring that I have complete control over the situation at any given moment for my own benefit.

Tatsumi: My, how greedy. Though perhaps I should be a little more so myself.

HiMERU: ... HiMERU does not wish to see you become similar to the Deputy Director, Tatsumi.

Hiyori: Fufu. Tatsumi-kun, you're never one to reject anyone, instead only ever accepting them for who they are. That is both your greatest quality, and your greatest flaw.

It’s because you accept and love just about everyone that everyone comes to love you.

But you know, each and every person has their limit, yes? If you try to accept beyond that limit, you'll only hit your breaking point and fall apart again.

Tatsumi: Thank you for the advice, Tomoe-san. I'll take it to heart.

Hiyori: No need to thank me. I'm terribly fond of you, as well.

Tatsumi: I don't believe we spoke to one another at school, though.

Hiyori: Ibara prepared a script in which I claim to have paid you visits at the hospital, befriended you from there and became fast friends, you see.

Though that's a beautiful and yet completely fabricated story with no basis in reality — I would truly like to befriend you all the same.

Hiyori: I've heard so much about you from Jun-kun. That's why long before I met you, you'd already earned my respect and love.

Hiyori: Jun-kun was a true menace with it, especially in the days when we first met. Any chance he got, he'd be going on about Tatsumi-senpai, Tatsumi-senpai, Tatsumi-senpai — why, I've heard about you ad nauseam.

Hiyori: ...You see, Jun-kun dearly regrets that he wasn't able to stop you from falling to ruin.

That in the time that the two of you grew apart to the point of rarely talking, you had been thrust into the very depths of despair. Jun-kun has grieved that, all this time.

Tatsumi: ......

Hiyori: That's why, even if it's not quite compensation for those regrets, he would risk even his own life to devote himself to me. So that he may put every effort into loving me, this time without looking the other way.

Hiyori: Someone like Jun-kun grew up with such an embittered childhood, and yet he could be transformed into such a "warrior of love" — You are the very reason for that. And so I've always thought that surely, you must be someone incredible.

Tatsumi: I don't believe I did anything in particular to influence Jun-san, though. Rather, all we did was drink tea and chat about trivial things with one another.

Hiyori: To Jun-kun, who lived in a waking hell, that must have been his one and only salvation.

You've had a greater impact beyond what you've always believed of yourself.

And Jun-kun is the very proof of that.

Jun: ......

Hiyori: Look at him now. How he'd detested the very thought of COMP, a plan intended to boost the image of the school that had tormented him so much with its system, and yet —

Jun: ......

Hiyori: He's reading the script in intent silence, and warming up so that he may boost the quality of his performance by even the slightest degree.

He’s such a diligent, earnest boy, don’t you think?

In order to perform as everyone wishes, he's pushed away his own misgivings. He strives to improve himself, all so that he may bring our fans even a single ounce more of delight.

Tatsumi: Yes, Jun-san certainly is splendid.

No matter how the world fell apart around him, he alone stayed the same.

Tatsumi: I should have reached out to him, rather than speak so patronizingly about what I thought I knew — I should have followed his example.

Tatsumi: I should have asked about his way of life and learned from it, so that I would be able to become even slightly better of a person than I was before; but it's far too late for such regrets.

I became an idol so that I could find a place to belong. A rather impure motivation, wouldn't you say?

Tatsumi: But Jun-san... More than I, more than anyone else, is walking that path with pure, genuine intentions.

I have a deep respect for him. Though he may have been scorned for being the son of a failure, I believe Jun-san must be the person who won most of all at Reimei Academy.

He is the only one who didn't lose a single thing. That is why even now he shines so brightly, glittering with all that he has gained.

Tatsumi: Ah, how envious I am.

16. A kiss in the rain

The quiet moments at Remy's apartment have been some of the most peaceful that Emma has had in quite a while. Most of the time they spend together is getting out pent up affection and energy, but for once the woman is able to have a few days to relax and recuperate from her busy schedule.

The pitter of rain against the windows rouses Emma from sleep, and though it probably isn't the greatest idea, she pads over to the balcony door to let the droplets hit her face. No doubt Remy was awoken by the door opening, but he probably wouldn't mind all too much.

The door opens behind her and hands slowly come around her waist, but besides that, there is no further motion. The feeling of the gentle drizzle on her face was refreshing, and there wasn't any speaking, just the calm and quiet of the first hours of the morning.

After a few minutes, Emma yawns and turns in Remy's arms, meeting him halfway for a chaste kiss before pulling away. "We can go back in now. I just wanted to feel the rain a little."

shorter, quieter show but still so much fun! had special guests griffin and gavin - griffin had just absolutely crushed at the concert we threw so was a great time in the studio. he contributed come on let's go and gavin suggested sugar water. both great picks

get a fade is heartbreaking and awesome. the fact that its inspired by this is awesome and made me put my fave girlpool song at the end. both very much fit the gray wintry forks washington mood of this week. still so pretty here though.

youth is still one of the greatest songs ever made and also works perfectly on these cloudy days. the way the drums rumble through close your eyes feels kind of similar but maybe thats just my head. spring bug is also perfect for the moment - i am becoming so so obsessed with helena delands voice.

new maggie rogers album has so much great stuff and was so hard to pick just one song from it! my fave changes every day but a review i read talked about how the drums in this one are kind of a throwback to alanis morrissette and natalie imbruglia - i totally hear it and its the absolute best references to have.

i am obsessed with how danceable polly is - feels so fresh and funky! kind of like the first time i heard remi wolf. limelight is what utopia should've sounded like and we don't deserve tisakorean. leo still hits.

TopSpin 2K25 Preview - Stepping Back Onto The Court - Game Informer

In the early 2000s, tennis video games were everywhere. Whether you were talking mass-appeal titles like Virtua Tennis and Mario Tennis or more niche, lower-budget games like Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament and Hard Hitter Tennis, the market was absolutely flooded with choices. One of the most beloved of this era was 2003’s Top Spin, which started as an Xbox exclusive before making the leap to PS2 and PC in subsequent years. Since that inaugural game, Top Spin has seen three more numbered entries, all receiving high review scores.

Unfortunately, like each of the aforementioned tennis series from the early 2000s – save for Mario Tennis – the Top Spin franchise has been dormant for over a decade. Thankfully, the series is finally poised to step up to the baseline once again with TopSpin 2K25. During a recent trip to Indian Wells, California, I had the chance to learn more about this first title in the franchise in more than 13 years.

As with all sports, tennis has evolved since the last Top Spin game, and developer Hangar 13 is focusing on the idea of “bridging the gap” between the legends of yesteryear and the young guns of tomorrow. As such, the standard edition box art features two of the greatest ever to do it, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, while the deluxe edition includes some of the younger stars like Frances Tiafoe, Iga Świątek, and Carlos Alcaraz. But that philosophy also carries forward into the development team’s approach to the gameplay.

“Mostly, it’s become more physical,” game director Remi Ercolani says. “Rallies are really intense and longer. Players hit really, really hard. So that’s something we tried to transcribe with the updates we did to the gameplay. We started with the same core gameplay and core animations as Top Spin 4, then we added new animations, and we rebalanced a little bit, like the flow of the rallies; hitting hard shots can be more powerful than they were in Top Spin 4. But there’s also a chance of errors if you mistime it.”

To help balance the newly tuned shot types, this fifth entry introduces a timing meter on every shot. To this point, the series has provided feedback on whether you timed it too early or late, but now, you know exactly what happened. In my hands-on session, it took me a few matches to get the hang of the timing meter – I was incredibly distracted by it at first – but once I got used to it, it felt like second nature and went a long way to making sure I was fully informed on when I should make contact with an incoming ball. TopSpin 2K25 also adjusts to have fewer unforced errors occur and makes it easier to hit winners during rallies.

For those unfamiliar with the game of tennis or just want to familiarize themselves with the series following a 13-year break, TopSpin 2K25 includes TopSpin Academy, which features voiceover by the legendary player John McEnroe. Here, you learn the basics of tennis, can take more advanced lessons, and even learn how to play in different play styles, meaning you can develop your skills as a baseline offense player or a serve-and-volley savant. Perhaps most impressive is how McEnroe’s instruction reacts to your play in real time; on one occasion, I was taking too many shots from “no man’s land” (the space between the baseline and the service box). Even though that’s not what the lesson I was playing was focused on, he still corrected me.

TopSpin 2K25 features more than 24 tennis players to choose from, each with their own signature animations and play styles. Across several matches during my hands-on session, I could truly feel the difference between the various players. “For the look of the players, a lot of them, we scanned them, so we have the 3D data for their face, and we model them based on that data,” Ercolani says. “For the attributes, we watch a lot of tennis, so we try to understand, based on how the game works, the impact of each attribute. We know how Federer plays that his forehand is better than his backhand, so we tried to get the values where we think it makes sense and best represents their real playing styles.”

Baseline players like Andre Agassi and Serena Williams kept me running back and forth during long rallies, while the serve-and-volley play style of John McEnroe gave me fits until I solved the puzzle of how to counter him. This is particularly true when I played as Frances Tiafoe against John McEnroe in a tense three-set match on hard difficulty, though that ultimately ended up being the most fun I had in my hours playing, especially since I was able to take home the win. In this early stage, I can’t even imagine how tricky the newly added Legend difficulty will be, but I plan on making that setting my home once I have more time with the game. I also loved playing in a mixed doubles match, which reactivated the positioning part of my brain that has remained dormant since my days playing tennis in high school and college.

Outside of TopSpin Academy and Exhibition, players can build a player from the ground up in MyPlayer. While this mode was not available in the demo build, the developers gave me an idea of what to expect from the create-a-player. Players can experiment with in-depth customization options, including hair, individual facial features, body type, accessories, animations, and even grunt types.

The developers also shared that Season Passes will play a part in this, but I’m hopeful that if those Season Passes do, in fact, involve microtransactions, the monetization in career mode will stop there. However, with 2K’s aggressive use of them in the NBA 2K series’ MyPlayer, as well as the mention of VC, the primary driver of NBA 2K’s microtransactions, as a “MyPlayer Boost” bonus for the deluxe edition of TopSpin 2K25, I worry that this hope is misplaced.

Regardless of those monetization anxieties, I had a blast with my time playing TopSpin 2K25. The game looks good in motion and feels even better during those long rallies. Those eager to play a new tennis game don’t have long to wait. TopSpin 2K25 arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 26.

not to be a hater and i don't hate it but listening to re: this is why, like half way thru it made me switch to listen to the og album bc i was like all this is doing is reminding me how much i like the original versions better. but finishing the listen i do enjoy the wet leg and remi wolf versions, which i figured i would since i like both those artists already. and the zane lowe one is fun as a dance version which i enjoy and have a dance/EDM playlist for that mood.

but yeah kinda similar to the con x where i listen once go "cool" and don't expect any of it to be in usual rotation. what i would really love from paramore is their version of tns get along (live acoustic greatest hits) or still jealous (re record one album acoustic ish w new arrangements). or just a live album i want more live albums bc i know all these artists record their tours anyways!! like yeah i can watch them on youtube but gimme that pro live record i can listen to, i listen to self titled red rocks all the time

Motown Legend Lamont Dozier, Dead At 81

Motown artist, producer, and songwriter Lamont Dozier has passed away at age 81. His son confirmed his father's death via Instagram. The cause of death is currently unknown. Dozier is primarily known for being the mastermind between some of Motown's greatest hits. He and his songwriting peers, Brian and Eddie Holland, were responsible for producing 25 no. 1 hits. Some of those hits include Marvin Gaye's “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” and “Stop! In The Name of Love” by The Supremes. Dozier, though known for his association with Motown, found success out of the Detroit label. In the 1970s, he moved to California, and began writing for Warner Bros., Arista Records and Columbia Records. In the 1980s, he took his talents to England, where he penned hits for acts like Simply Red. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Dozier and the Hollands in 1988. In the later half of his career, he continued producing, but mostly focused on his own work. Lamont Dozier's Influence On Hip-Hop In addition to being the backbone to many hits in the 1960s, Dozier left quite a mark as an artist himself. And his legacy has lasted for decades as his music influences younger artists as well, many of them being rappers. For example, artists like Nipsey Hussle and Ghostface Killah sampled 1974's “Shine.” Other notable hip-hop artists sampling his work include Remy Ma, Trippie Redd, Outkast, and Faith Evans. Alternative hip-hop groups, like Linkin Park and The Avalanches, utilized his discography as well. Lamont Dozier's time on this earth has passed, but his presence in the music industry remains for years to come. His wife passed last year.
