I HAVE AN OC NAMED BRIAR TOO CAN I HEAR ABOUT YOURS
hmmmm yes BUT BE CAREFUL THEY ARE A BODY HORROR / GORE OC ok let’s see… briar time >:3
so imagine a little guy in ohio. kinda weird but generally friendly and well-meaning and average. they get sick pretty often but hey yknow how it is. ok now imagine when that kid’s like 14 they have some major freakout in the school bathroom that results in them smashing their face thru a mirror bc their reflection looked Wrong in it. and then when the cuts from the glass on their hands and face are healing, something starts growing from inside them and poking out through the wounds… sharp black thorns. NOW imagine briar, so desperate for this to Not be real, rips all the thorns out and the wounds get crazy infected but ultimately they heal fine and they convince themself the thorns were never there and they live their life normally for the next few years.
was that fun well ok heres what happened after them getting to be normal for a few years. they get really sick and break out in this bumpy red rash all over their body. fever thru the roof, can hardly move from the pain. thorny vines erupt from inside them and kill them. but its ok! Kind of. they discover that a goddess of blight and infection had chosen them as a vessel and now intends to take full control. she’s the face they saw in the mirror before this all started. but they don’t want to be controlled :(. and there’s a whole thing about them becoming a monster (physically, massive thorny wolf beast) while trying to maintain their autonomy and kick her out of them. and eventually they’re fine. body forms back to almost-human. still have some of the weird plant powers. BUT they are technically still a corpse and a vessel of disease so bugs really like them and they get people sick if they hang around them a lot. and they don’t really like doing that man they just want to get a coffee and do some normal guy things like listen to music… they can still take the giant monster form btw dont worry. this is them (person) (i cant draw beasts im sorry)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IN SUMMARY. briar my little freak full of bugs and 1000 diseases that can turn into a massive plant-wolf monster the size of a bus and covered in thorns and dripping bloody saliva from their sharp toothy maw but they’ll just roll around and act like a big dog and then turn back to human form and be like ah nuts i forgot my wallet :( and turn around and go home

(This entire thing is me projecting free to ignore-)
He hates this.
Billy glowers at the ceiling, stripped down to his boxers and nothing else as he stands because laying down must have done something, it had to have been.
Today was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary, every single thing he’s done was within the rational, manageable things that he can live with without feeling uncomfortable.
He was fine until an hour ago, because his body hates him and decided to turn his skin red and puffy along his entire body save his face. It felt like it was in his ear. Earlobe, yeah, whatever that happens.
But in it? Did the universe just hate him. It must, because this sucks a whole lot of wet egg.
It started when he was laying on the bed, which is why he was standing. He doesn’t know what it was on this bed, but it was on this bed. The reasonable thing to do is toss them in the wash but-
The itches. Ugh. He hates it. Billy can feel it. He’s not dying, he thinks he knows what dying would feel like, but it sure feels like he wants to just crawl out of his skin, scratch it all out and just tear away the sensation crap it feels so bad this sucks so much Billy hates having sensitive everything.
Who thought this was a good idea, making his skin this sensitive to every texture ever. He did everything right, he knows he did. Didn’t eat anything that would cause it, didn’t wear anything that would cause it, didn’t touch anything that would cause it.
And yet here he stands, looking like a cherry pie. He needs to take the sheets down to the washer. Clean out the bad whatever it was that made his skin red alert on him. He laid on this bed earlier with no problem, but right now? Oh, now it had a death wish on him.
It's on his neck. All of it. Not in it, thank the lord, but it was still just as itchy as a lot of him decided to be.
Instead of moving and doing what he needs to be doing to rid of whatever hates him, he’s staring at the ceiling like it was an accomplice, and he’s not moving. No, no instead he’s standing still in just boxers and trying to ignore the spiky feeling that makes him want to scratch it more and more.
It’s just gonna look like his legs. He knows it. Billy has already looked down there and saw the raised even lines that sat on the bumpy everything else because he couldn’t keep his hands to himself. It was itchy, and he itched it.
Billy was still itchy. Is it in his mouth? It better not be in his mouth, or he’ll scream and break a toe on the dresser.
That would be bad. In the back of his mind he knows the rash has to go away, because that’s what it does. Goes away. That’s what it did last time, that’s what it will do now.
It doesn’t feel as bad as everything else he’s gotten on this body, but the aches at least fade after the initial blow even if it don’t look too pretty.
Rashes continue to make their presence known. His brain is telling him it’s itchy, and it’s taking up everything not to unconsciously reach down and do it.
He sucks in a breath. Scratches at his inflamed neck. Glares at the bed like it kicked his car. Throws his hand down.
Turning, he stomps into the bathroom because he can’t take this anymore and need relief. He took an antihistamine because that’s what people do when they’re itchy, they take meds to remove the itchy.
Yeah, did not work, he’s still itchy and it burns. He turns on the shower cold and steps underneath it.
Ahhh, better. Billy glares at his feet, ignoring his bright red thighs and the huge splotch that took up his sides and some of his chest.
His hands remain balled at his sides. He won’t scratch his skin off that way.
Billy stays there for at least five minutes. Any longer and he’s just running the water bill up. He shuts the shower off and stands there. Drying is too much right now, and he knows he’ll just use the towel to itch his skin.
Natural drying it is.
Once he wasn’t risking soaking the bathroom floor he steps out, walking around and just trying to ignore the itch.
Billy can’t wait for it to go down. Maybe then he’ll remember about the sheets and how it has a vendetta against him and drown it. Then it will be peaceful until inevitably it happens again.
Which will happen again, and the cycle start all over. Billy laughs to himself. Hates his skin’s sensitivity, he truly does.
Great, now it’s on his scalp. Just be over already. Please.
Oh, he despises this so much.
No it's in his ear IT'S IN HIS EAR AUGH-

Itching all over the body: what does it mean
Tumblr media
Causes of widespread itching Very dry skin Allergic skin reaction Eczema Current infection or illness Anemia Overactive thyroid Side effect of a drug Diabetes Itching is always annoying but when it is not localized and affects the whole body, the feeling of discomfort increases considerably. The causes can be different and to intervene and appease him it is essential to know them.
Causes of widespread itching
- Very dry skin - Allergic skin reaction - Eczema - Current infection or illness - Anemia - Overactive thyroid - Side effect of a drug - Diabetes
Very dry skin
One of the most common causes of itching, especially during the winter months, is dry skin, a condition often accompanied by roughness to the touch and a scaly surface. While you can't completely change your skin type, you can change some habits that can exacerbate dryness. Better, for example, to avoid too hot showers and don't forget to apply a moisturizer immediately after using it, to help the skin retain moisture. In some cases dry skin can be associated with atopic dermatitis and if in doubt it is advisable to undergo a visit to the dermatologist.
Allergic skin reaction
Sometimes allergic reactions can present as a rash on the skin accompanied by uncontrollable itching. Substances such as nickel, perfume or latex, found in many everyday products, can be common causes of such reactions. To eliminate itching associated with an allergic reaction, it is recommended to make an appointment with a dermatologist who can help determine its cause. To aid in the diagnosis it may be helpful to note any new products you have recently used that may be irritating your skin, such as laundry detergent, body wash, or body lotion, and stop using them to see if the itching goes away.
Eczema
Eczema is an inflammatory condition that causes itchy and sometimes dry or flaky skin, rashes, blisters, and skin infections. It can first appear in childhood or begin in adulthood, usually in your 20s or over 50. Mild eczema is usually localized but in severe cases it can spread throughout the body and cause constant itching. Light skin affected by eczema often appears red, while dark skin may appear dark brown, purple, or gray. There is no cure for eczema, but symptoms can usually be managed with home remedies such as bathing and moisturizing regularly, managing stress, and avoiding flare-up triggers. Over-the-counter eczema creams can help, as can anti-itch lotions, but if these products aren't enough, consult a dermatologist.
Current infection or illness
Certain infections or conditions such as chicken pox, fungal infections, scabies, bed bug attacks, bed mites, and fleas can cause itchiness all over the body. In this case, the itching will disappear once the cause is eliminated.
Anemia
Anemia is usually associated with symptoms such as weakness and fatigue but can also lead to widespread itching, with or without a rash. While there's no official explanation for why people with anemia may develop a rash, one theory is that low levels of iron make the skin thinner and dehydrate it, leading to itching. A visible rash due to this cause may appear as small red or purple dots under the skin called petechiae, which may become bumpy and blotchy if you scratch. They are usually not painful.
Overactive thyroid
One of the lesser known but common symptoms of hyperthyroidism is itching. With hyperthyroidism, the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone, and this can cause dry skin, which can lead to itching, as well as a rash. If you suffer from itchy skin related to hyperthyroidism, anti-itch moisturizers and lotions are your best bet. But it's also important to talk to your doctor or an endocrinologist who specializes in treating thyroid disorders to make sure you're taking the right medications to keep the situation under control.
Side effect of a drug
Certain medications such as aspirin, prescription opioids, and even some antidepressants such as Prozac and Zoloft can cause itchy skin. If you have any doubts that the discomfort you are experiencing is related to taking a particular drug you are taking, especially since the onset began shortly after you started taking this drug, it is advisable to discuss it with your doctor and, in the if possible, consider substituting the medicine.
Diabetes
While the most common symptoms associated with diabetes are frequent urination and thirst, there are many others, including itching without a rash, due to high blood sugar, which can make your skin dry more easily. If you have diabetes and itchy skin, hydration is a great first step in protecting your skin barrier and maintaining proper moisture levels. If these solutions do not work, seek advice from your doctor, who may consider prescribing a steroid cream. Read the full article

Insomniac AU (part 1?)
{{ Insomniac au- Person A can’t sleep due to traumatic experience but shortly after they meet their new neighbor and end up in their apartment/house they fall asleep. Soon enough the only way they can rest is if person B is with them even if it scares them. }} Above the skies of a planet in a galaxy far far away, lights could be spotted. The lights of explosions. Red and green ones clashing and causing explosions. But what the inhabitants of the planet didn’t know was the level of conflict that was displaying itself above, in the clouds.  Indeed, they did not know that in one of the x-wings flew one of the recently having become infamous rebel champions, Luke skywalker. Nor would they ever believe that Darth Vader himself was on his tail, getting closer and closer in his own, remodeled tie fighter. Yet what did they know, they were just simple people.  Luke, on the other hand, knew all too well what kind of trouble he was in. The young man had felt the presence of Vader as soon as he had entered the system and knew he was in for a long battle. The to be Jedi had been with the fleet since their last encounter on Bespin, slowly recovering from the shock of the news but also the wounds inflicted upon him. Indeed, Vader had done quite the number on him. It baffled Luke that he was never told about the truth of Vader by anyone, not Obi-wan, not his uncle or aunt. Not that he blamed them, had he known, Luke might have taken different, rash actions.  Yet the news and the fight had had a big effect on him, especially his sleep. His face told the story of that to anyone who saw him. He had become paler, there were bags under his eyes that seemed to be permanently glued on and his whole demeanor seemed to have changed from energetic and sometimes mischievous to someone that was constantly cranky and irritable.  Even Leia had asked what was going on with him, and he just told her “nothing” Or he’d chuckle and smile a little “I’ll be fine.” Was always the response he gave last, ensuring the conversation about it ended there. Of course, he now knew this had become a bigger problem than he could have imagined now that he was in a dog fight with Vader.  He could tell from the first moment they had entered into just the regular battle, Luke his reactions were off, slower than usual. Not only that but he actually missed shots he normally would have nailed. It was becoming a problem. Leia had seen it as well. “What is going on Luke?” She had asked through the communicator. “Nothing! Just warming up!” was what he had told her and continued the battle.  It wasn’t until Vader showed up that he realized he was in even bigger trouble. The cold, unmistakable force tendrils of Vader reaching out to him, almost as if they were trying to find a connection with him. Luke had fought those off as Vader and he joined into battle, both trying to shoot each other out of the sky, or so it seemed. Luke was surely trying to.  It was after a few moments Luke realized Vader had been trying to herd him towards the executor, the infamous flagship of Vader himself, and had only escaped that fate by a few parsecs. Turning towards the planet below them, getting closer and closer. He was determined not to get captured by the sith lord, whose presence grew with every second, the cold feeling in Luke’s gut increasing with it.  Spiraling towards the planet, they resorted to shooting at each other, and in a last ditched effort to not go down unless he took the sith lord with him, Luke turned around by flipping his ship and shot directly at Vader, getting himself shot in the process. What happened next wasn’t very surprising, as both ships lost control, and in huge clouds of fiery smoke, they spiraled towards the planet surface.  Luke tried to desperately get his ship to cooperate, and to not hit the fast approaching city on the planet surface, and succeeded, by only hitting a few acres of forest. His ship shook, and he did in his seat, his helmet protecting his head from the impact and the bumpy ride. He didn’t know what happened to Vader, but he didn’t need to know now, as his ship slowed down and came to a halt.  Smoke filled the cockpit, making luke cough. His comlink was dead, and he couldn’t see thanks to the blackness of the smoke. The rebel attempted to free himself from his seat frantically and got lucky as it released him without a hitch, the seatbelt being flung to the side.  Getting out of the cockpit proved a harder obstacle. It seemed to have become so dented Luke couldn’t open it. However, the force was with him once again, as he had constructed a new lightsaber from the artifacts the rebels apparently had with them.  Taking the green blade, he cut himself a way out and climbed out of his fiery wreck, and fell onto the forest floor, gasping and taking in the fresh air. That was a close one. Yet he still felt this ringing in his chest, as if the force was warning him. Telling him to get to his feet. Luke looked to his ship and then got up to his feet, running to the edge of the forest, but he didn’t get far before the ship exploded. Sending him flying.  His ears rung from the sound and he held them, groaning in pain. Small cuts covered his body thanks to the shrapnel that flew around, and he was sure he had broken a rib when he impacted a tree. Yet it was still not enough to get him to lose consciousness. And Luke wasn’t surprised by that even though he really felt tired, his head feeling more heavy than it had ever done, almost too heavy to pick up from the forest floor.  The inability to lose consciousness right now seemed a blessing but it had been plaguing him for weeks. He had tried everything to try and sleep too, from drugs to just plain hitting himself in the head at one point to just try and get a few hours of rest. The most he’d get every few days was 2 hours, way to little for someone with an active lifestyle like him. Yet even the medics he had spoken to didn’t know what to do about it. Trying drug after drug, without result. Luke had almost begged at one point for them to help him and the force to let him rest, but that might have attracted the attention of Leia, and she had enough to worry about.  Gasping, Luke his train of thought was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a dark force presence nearby, a very familiar one. Had his ears not be still ringing, he would have heard the even breaths of Vaders vocoder. Looking up, looks eyes went wide. “Vader.” He acknowledged him as he dragged himself to his unwilling feet, taking out his lightsaber.  Vader, his father, remained silent for a moment as he seemed to analyze him, his emotionless mask, trained on him. Vader, his steps were slow and methodical as he moved forwards. Luke noted that he did not look one bit damaged by the impact with the ground which was a disappointment. It might have evened out the playing field.  “Young Skywalker.” Vader finally greeted him back, coming to a halt not far from him, Luke stood his ground. “I see your ship has had to bear the brunt of your foolishness.” The sith lord commented, looking to his exploded x-wing. Luke gritted his teeth. If Vader hadn’t come after him neither of them would be here.  “However, it is of no hindrance to me. Surrender Luke.” He added before Luke could get a word in between, though he did not feel like talking much. He was having a hard enough time focussing on standing upright with his lightsaber, watching Vader’s every move. Vader had yet to get out his own crimson blade.  “Never.” Lukes response seemed to not even faze the sith lord that remained quiet once more, pacing a little from side to side. Luke could make out the darker force energy that was reaching out to him and did his best to push his shields up, not that it was much use at this point.  As he did so, his sleep deprivation suddenly hit him. As if all the hours of lost sleep suddenly dawned upon him and he had trouble keeping his eyes open. Luke staggered backward a bit, trying to uphold his balance, as the world spun around him.  “What are you doing!?” Luke spat at Vader, knowing he was indeed the cause of this sudden loss of control. Silence filled the air once more, Vader’s breathing is the only thing that could be heard, together with the sound of the burning wreckage. “I am merely making you aware of your own weakened state.” The sith said, while surprisingly sounding victorious.  The heaviness grew and grew and grew, Luke trying his hardest to fight it off. Why now of all times to suddenly be tired!? “Stop!” Luke demanded after another bout of dizyness hit him, his body seemingly not responding to his commands to run.  Vader just took another few steps forward, raising his hand slowly, pointing it at Luke. “Sleep.” It was a simple command but one that had a huge impact on the rebel, as his eyes rolled back in his head and he hit the floor, no longer able to keep himself up. He dropped his lightsaber, it rolling far away from him.  The last thing Luke heard and saw was Vaders boots and cape closing the gap between them and that cold, methodical breathing that had haunted him since Bespin. ((Do I need to continue this or do you guys have a different writing prompt for me to try? Thanks for reading!))

6 Best Homeopathic Medicines for Eczema| Skin Diseases Treatment
Tumblr media
Eczema is an ailment where areas of skin get inflamed, itchy, red, cracked, and rough. Sometimes blisters may occur. The word "eczema" is also used unambiguously to discourse about atopic dermatitis. This is the most common type of eczema. Atopic is contamination of the immune system. Dermatitis is a swelling of the skin. Some people come out of this condition, while many continue to have it for a prolonged period. Homeopathy treatment for Eczema can be of great relief.
Causes of Eczema
The specific cause of eczema is still unknown, but it is supposed to grow due to an amalgamation of genetic and environmental factors. It is not contagious. Children are more prone to develop eczema if any of the parents have had the condition. The risk increases, if both parents have an atopic disease.
Signs and Symptoms
Atopic dermatitis generally takes place in infants, with dry and scaly spots appearing on the skin. Many kids develop to have atopic dermatitis before the age of five. And many of them continue with this ailment up to adult age. People with this disorder will often experience days where their symptoms get worse, followed by days when their symptoms improve. You can go for homeopathy treatment for Eczema.
Symptoms in infants:
·         Rashes usually appear on the scalp and cheeks.
·         Rashes frequently bubble up before leaking fluid.
·         These rashes can lead to extreme itchiness.
·         Sleep is hampered.
·         Skin infections come into the picture because of the continuous rubbing               and scratching.
·         The common point where the rashes commonly appear is creases of                    elbows and knees.
·         Rashes can sometimes become bumpy.
·         Rashes can develop knots and can permanently itch.
Homeopathy treatment for eczema is the best way to get cure with no possibility of side effects. The core wisdom of the body is to push illness from a more vital to less important tissue. Thus, though eczema is a completely curable condition, this often requires professional, constitutional prescribing. Simultaneously clearing up associated allergies or overall immune weakness, If eczema co-exists or alternates with asthma or hay fever, merely treating the skin will not resolve the whole syndrome, Nonetheless, the remedies listed here can give considerable relief, and in fact are the ones most commonly used to cure eczema on the deepest level. Homeopathy remedies helps a lot in all types of eczema. There many homeopathy remedies if gives according to symptom similarities taking the totality of symptoms can cure this condition permanently.
Prominent names in this category are Graphites, Sulphur, Petroleum, Mezereum, and Natrum Mur. These medicines for eczema are natural and therefore, safe from any adverse side-effects. They can be taken by persons of all age groups.

Sensitive Skin: What It Looks Like, What Can Cause It and What You Can Do to Make It Stop
If you had to describe your skin type, would "sensitive" come to mind?
If so, you're not alone. According to a report in Contact Dermatitis, the majority of women across the U.S., Europe and Japan now believe they have sensitive skin—and the numbers are on the rise.
But is sensitive skin an actual diagnosis? How do you know if you have it? And most importantly, is there anything you can do to make your skin more tolerant?
In this tutorial, you will learn:
The symptoms of sensitive skin
The two most common causes
How to go on a "product elimination diet"
Which irritants sensitive types should always avoid
What to include in a sensitive skincare routine
What is Sensitive Skin?
Most women identify as having sensitive skin. (Photo: @makeupandmedicine.dk)

Thanks for watching!
As you know, countless beauty brands market their products towards sensitive skin, using terms like "dermatologist-tested" and "hypoallergenic."
So it would be easy to assume that sensitive skin is a disease with an official, clinical diagnosis.
It's not. Sensitive skin simply means that your skin is more easily irritated than most people's, and reacts when it comes in contact with certain triggers.

Thanks for watching!
Sensitive skin is most common in Caucasian women, although it can happen to men, too, and any ethnicity. Typically, it will manifest as...
Redness
Tightness
Stinging
Burning
Itching
Dry patches
Inflammation
Soreness
Rashes
But on the whole, you can think of sensitive skin as a symptom of another problem—not as a disease in and of itself.
What Causes Sensitive Skin?
Sensitive skin can be a symptom of a medical condition or a damaged skin barrier. (Photo: @matsandroses)
So, if sensitive skin is a just a symptom, what's actually behind it?
According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, irritation can be caused by genetic conditions, immune system disorders, medications, infections and allergens. Some people are also sensitive to environmental factors, such as heat, cold, humidity, wind, sun exposure and pollution, notes a 2017 paper in Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia.
But those triggers tend to be rare, says Dr. Sandy Skotnicki, author of Beyond Soap. In her clinical experience, she finds that there are two common pathways for most cases of sensitive skin:
"[Approximately] 80 percent of the sensitive-skin cases I see stem from pre-existing skin conditions and invisible irritation. And each one of those problems originates with a compromised barrier function."
Pre-Existing Skin Conditions
Sensitive skin can indicate a medical condition such as rosacea. (Photo: @talontedlex)
If you suffer from ongoing and/or severe sensitivity, it can be an indication of an underlying medical condition.
Rosacea appears as redness, flushing and enlarged blood vessels
Eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis) can give you an itchy, inflamed rash
Psoriasis is characterized by bumpy, scaly patches
Seborrheic dermatitis can manifest as dandruff on the scalp or as scaly patches on the face
These problems are all associated with abnormal skin barrier function—meaning the outer layer of skin isn't giving enough protection to the skin's deeper layers. So irritants are able to permeate through it, causing reactions.
If you suspect that a medical condition is causing your sensitivity, talk to your doctor.
Invisible Irritation
Sensitive skin can be triggered by irritating topical products. (Photo: @baby.ana.mama)
Invisible irritation and inflammation is something we do to ourselves. We can make our skin act sensitive by treating it the wrong way.
"My theory is that this one arises because we're washing too often, using too many different products and using those products too frequently," says Dr. Skotnicki.
Most people use nine products each day, with 126 different ingredients, according to the Environmental Working Group. And 25 percent of women use 15 or more products daily. Cumulatively, there's a huge potential for irritation.
"[Beauty products] are the main triggering factors of sensitive skin, especially in women, due to overuse and sometimes inappropriate use," states this report. "Presence of potentially irritating substances... increases the possibility of symptoms."
The Product Elimination Diet
A "product elimination diet" can help to calm a sensitive skin reaction. (Photo: @chronicbeautystyle)
No matter what may be causing your sensitive skin—whether you have a medical condition or it is self-induced—your first line of defence should be a "product elimination diet."
You've heard of food elimination diets for food sensitivities, right? Well, this is the same thing, but with your skincare products. I've been suggesting this idea for a while and happily discovered that it is exactly what Dr. Skotnicki recommends.
Here's the gist. You temporarily quit your usual skincare and switch to bland, fragrance-free, soap-free, botanical-free products until the reaction clears up. (If you've been diagnosed with rosacea, eczema, etc., you should still continue to use any medications your doctor has prescribed.)
Once your skin is back to normal, you can re-introduce your old products—but at a rate of only one per week. That way, it will be easy to pinpoint anything that causes a problem.
The Worst Irritants for Sensitive Skin
My recent sensitive skin reaction, triggered by witch hazel.
I also want to give you some general guidelines, so you can easily identify problem ingredients before you invest in a new product.
These are the worst irritants for sensitive skin:
Fragrance: Did you know that "fragrance" or "parfum" on a label can actually be a blend of dozens of chemicals, all of which can cause irritation? Even so-called "unscented" products can contain fragrance, to mask unpleasant chemical odours.
Essential oils: It's not just synthetic fragrance that is a problem. Many essential oils (such as the citrus, tea tree, mint, lavender and rose families) and their components (such as linalool and limonene) can cause reactions.
Detergents: Sulfates, usually found in cleansers, are foaming agents that strip the skin's natural oils and can lead to a weakened barrier. You'll want to avoid them in your face wash, body wash and shampoo.
Alcohol: Denatured alcohol (alcohol denat.), ethanol, isopropyl alcohol and methanol are too drying for sensitive skin and leave it vulnerable to irritants. If you can't avoid them altogether, at least make sure they're not in the first five ingredients (which, on average, compose 80 percent of the product). Fatty alcohols, such as stearyl, cetyl and cetearyl alcohol, are non-drying.
Witch hazel: Similar to alcohol, witch hazel is very drying. ("It rips your barrier to shreds," says Dr. Mona Gohara in an interview with Well+Good.) Above, you can see what happened to my face after using The Ordinary's salicylic acid, which is high in witch hazel.
Alpha-hydroxy acids: Glycolic, lactic, citric, malic, mandelic and tartaric acids are all alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), which exfoliate by breaking down the "glue" between skin cells. Glycolic acid tends to be the most irritating because of its small molecule size. However, at high concentrations and a low pH, any acid can be irritating.
Retinoids: Both over-the-counter retinol and prescription retinoids are well known for causing dryness and irritation. That said, some derms, like Dr. Dendy Engelman, believe it's possible to build up a tolerance. "Even sensitive skin can be trained to tolerate vitamin A derivatives," she told Harper's Bazaar.
Sunscreen: Oxybenzone and avobenzone are the two usual culprits behind sunscreen irritation, which is more common than sunscreen allergy, says Dr. Skotnicki.
Brushes and scrubs: Anything too abrasive is bad news for sensitive skin. So you'll want to avoid Clarisonic brushes (or similar tools) and gritty exfoliating products with ground-up particles.
Water: Yes, water can be an irritant—especially hot water. Spend too long in the bath or shower, and it can dissolve the protective oils in our skin's outer layer, leading to dryness and irritation.
Keep in mind that these are the most common irritants. There are also allergens, which can lead to allergic contact dermatitis. Dr. Skotnicki says that "allergic reactions to beauty products turn out to be relatively uncommon." Some of the ingredients that can provoke allergies include preservatives, chemical sunscreens, fragrances, detergents and botanicals. (So it is possible for something to be both an irritant and an allergen.)
What to Include in a Sensitive Skincare Routine
If you have sensitive skin, follow a minimalist skincare routine for best results. (Photo: @ohbaby25)
Now that you know what to avoid, let's talk about what to include in a sensitive skincare routine.
In general, the fewer products and ingredients, the better. The less stuff you put on your face (and hair, and body), the less it has to react to!
Here are my suggestions:
Bioderma Sensibio H2O
Cleansers: Consider cleansing with only water in the mornings, so you don't dry out your skin. At night, remove the day's grime, oil and makeup with a micellar water and/or a mild, sulfate-free cleanser. Both Bioderma Sensibio H2O and Graydon Face Foam are fragrance-free.
Foreo Luna 2 for Sensitive Skin
Exfoliators: The oil-and-cloth method is one of the gentlest ways to exfoliate your skin—see my tutorial here. If you prefer the ease of a gadget, the best one is the Foreo Luna 2 for Sensitive Skin (its bristles are non-abrasive). If you must use an acid, BHAs (beta-hydroxy acids or salicylic acid) will be less irritating than AHAs. Juice Beauty, COSRX and La Roche-Posay have low-dose BHAs under one percent, but all include some potential irritants. If you find any good alternatives, let me know!
Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique Soothing B3 Serum
Serums: If you saw my niacinamide tutorial, then you know it's a fantastic ingredient for sensitive skin because it helps to reduce redness and dryness and strengthens the skin barrier. Two of the best formulas are Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique Soothing B3 Serum and Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster. Bonus: Niacinamide acts as an antioxidant, so it can replace your vitamin C serum!
Dr Roebuck's Nuddy Ultra Hydrating and Repair Creme
Moisturizers: The job of your hydrators is to maintain your skin's barrier and to protect your skin from water loss. As I explained in my moisturizer tutorial, you want to look for products with a combination of emollients, humectants and occlusives. My favourites for sensitive skin include Dr Roebuck's Nuddy Ultra Hydrating and Repair Creme and Derma E Sensitive Skin Moisturizing Cream. A layer of an oil you tolerate, such as jojoba or marula, can add additional barrier protection on top.
Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense SPF 30
Sunscreen: Mineral-based sunscreens are not only safer, they also help to block out irritating pollutants while calming the skin. Follow my sunscreen ingredients tutorial to know what look for. Two of the best zinc oxide SPFs are Drunk Elephant's Umbra Sheer and Umbra Tinte.
Shani Darden Texture Reform Gentle Resurfacing Serum
Treatments: If you want to add another anti-aging ingredient besides the niacinamide, retinol esters are an option—they're the gentlest type of retinoid. You'll find them in Shani Darden Texture Reform Gentle Resurfacing Serum, a treatment designed specifically for sensitive skin. Also consider copper peptides, which are unlikely to cause irritation. Derms like Dr. Ellen Marmur believe they are "just as important as retinol... in fighting the signs of aging" (according to an interview in Self). The NuFace Collagen Booster Copper Complex is said to be so gentle, it's even suitable on post-procedural skin.
Let me know if these tips help your sensitive skin!

Uh oh... Playing catch up, AGAIN!!
3.22.19
- Tidied the house for when Ne comes and also just to tidy
- Josh picked up Manang and I at 4 to go to Cinemark and watch US (Peele). We get to Southland mall and walk around real quick to wait for PJ. Once bought our tickets then continued5o wait for peej. Watched the movie and it was CRAZY. Talked about the movie and ate some McDonald's across the street (Manang bought us Happy meals and we shared a large coffee). After that we dropped PJ back to his car and we were dropped home. Watched Marv play in the living room then did the elliptical.
3.23.19
- Woke up so early today. 6:30 am!!! Got ready to drive manong to school. Mom and dad were awake when I went down and they were just watching some.lion thing on Netflix. Ate some skyflakes then left. I drove from home to Canton Walmart. Then from there to Ikea (but sadly it was 8 am and it wasnt open till 10 lol). Manong drove to mcdonalds and we got the wrong order!!! Instead of just one sausage egg McMuffin, 2 hash browns, a sausage burrito and 2 coffees, we got 2 coffees, 4 sausage McMuffins and 4 hash browns!! Felt guilty but we didn't go back because we were gonna run late. Got to the school and parked in the structure. Manong went to class and I just walked to the student center and sat. Used the bathroom so many times bc I drank so much water. Also scared myself so many times thinking about US, esp when going to the bathroom. Lol the school was so empty. finally at 12 we left and we drove all the way to Belleville for a citizens Bank (I'm pretty sure there were others but for some reason manong and I searched up citizens Bank and the GPS didn't lead us to any!!!). From Belleville we pulled over at a church and I drove from there home using Huron River drive. Got home and was so tired. Took a nap while Manang was getting ready. Ended up not going to Chynna's house bc manong was really not feeling well. Plus I was so tired. Went down and chilled with dad and Marv. Then dad decided to go to Meijer to buy dinner (beef or something). Manang and mom ended up coming so we went to Walmart and then Target. Got home and mom cooked the nilaga with jackfruit (which we picked up from ne's). Did 5 miles on the elliptical before eating! Watched Nailed It Mexico (and finished the whole season) and then watched the good dinosaur with mom and dad.
3.24.19
- Super tiring day. Woke up late and got ready to go to Taylor. Dad preached then we left immediately to church. Manong stayed home cuz he was so sick. Day felt like it went by so fast. Played with my students (hide and seek) then practiced the choir. Left and we went to Pho Lucky in Redford. Got 3 of the summer rolls, mom got a B2, dad and Manang got P10, ad Marv and I got P4. After that we went straight home. I went straight to my room and fell asleep on my bed, without even taking off my makeup, jewelry or clothes. Woke up and freshened up and just watched some Flavors of China and the forensic files with dad. Mom's not feeling well. Didn't work out today either cuz I wasn't feeling well :P
3.25.19
- Got up late and boy mom is sick. Coughing hard like manong, sore throat, body aches, etc. It's nice and sunny outside tho! Still chilly. They're also working on the at&t fiberoptics too across the street, digging up our neighbors' front lawn. Anywho made some oatmeal and drank water. Went with dad to get Manang then we went to Meijer in Taylor to fill the jugs and buy some groceries. Dad cooked tocino and then later BBQ sticks. I played a game of banana grams with mom and won. Watched Duff vs Buddy. I cooked breaded chicken and made chicken wraps for my sibs and I. Also did 3 miles on the elliptical! Ohhh also saw Ryan block at the Meijer parking lot. He parked in front of us. Sad... He's balding!
3.26.19
- Got up late again. Made dad's shake and prepped the veggied/fruits for the week, made myself a chicken wrap, washed dishes, and then prepped dad's salmon for lunch, his uniform (which I washed) and etc. Watched the caregiver (Sharon cuneta) with mom. She left to get Manang and Marv. I cleaned the house, vacuumed, dust, pipi, mop, wipe the couches. Once they got home manager made an omelette and a veggie with chicken thing with the squash noodles she bought. Drank some hot chocolate and more water. Cut mom some mango with soysauce. Went to my room and chilled a little bit until Marv told me to come down to play a piece on the piano. After that manong came home. Gave mom Benadryl and then worked out. At 2 miles I rubbed Vicks on mom's chest and she fell asleep for a long time!! Manong Marv and I talked after I hit 4 miles. After that I ligo, then changed and went down. Downstairs I washed dishes, tidied the kitchen, prepped dad's shake and put it in the freezer, and boiled eggs. Marv and I ate 2 each. I saved 4 for mom and dad. Marv showed me a skydiving clip from family Guy and then now I have freshened up and in my room.
3.27.19
- Woke up early today! Had to come with manong n Manang. Manong dropped Manang off to work, then we did drive thru breakfast at Tim Hortons. Drove back to Walgreens near manang's subway and parked. Ate my breakfast then drove from Michigan Ave all the way to Westland where manong did his first store. After that I drove to downtown Plymouth. While manong did his store I stayed outside and walked around but mostly sat. Bought a venti green tea latte and sat in the middle park. Oh yeah manong also gave me $12 for food and Starbucks ❤️ after that I met him back in his car. After about 35 min or so we finally left and I drove using Ann arbor trail to hines drive. It was kinda stressful. Exited onto Ford road which was fine but once Greenfield was approaching no one was letting me in 🤦🏻‍♀️ anyway made it tho and parked at manang's work. went in and used the bathroom then just sat for a good 15 min. Went to the car then manong and I went to DQ. I got a triple berry smoothie. After that manong drove to the hill to Sallys beauty where Manang bought me hair dye as well as a toner and such. Then we went to woodhaven. Manang used her Ulta points to buy mom a shiseido cream. Manong and I went to 5 below. There I got a screen protector. Went to Target and then Panera across the street. After Panera we went to Starbucks drive thru for Manang, then Goodwill where I found marv a graduation gown!! And it was only $6!! Manang paid. Lol after that we went home. I took a pretty long nap. Woke up almost 11. Manang and Marv were downstairs. I watched Kubo then near the end I decided that I would work out so I did 3 miles (even tho I told myself I was too tired I pushed myself!). Finished Kubo then watched a little bit of emperoru new groove before ligoing and folding my clothes.
3.28.19
-woke up early again. Manong dropped Manang off and then drove to hair doctors appt. He developed an allergic reaction to his Augmentin (hives/rash/red/bumpy skin). After that I drove to Wendy's. Got a 4/$4 (guilty!! 😩) Then drove to Meijer. There we walked around until his prescription was ready. Then manong drove to 5 below. Didn't get anything, I was trying to look for a size small sweat suit but they didn't have any. Stopped by the car wash place on eureka across from Tim Hortons and we vacuumed his car (free!) Came home, prepped dad's shake and lunch, ate a boiled egg, then napped for a good 2-3 hours. Prepared a chicken boiled egg salad and ate that. Manang and manong came home and Manang and I just talked in the kitchen. Marv is also sick. Then I worked out. I did 6 miles today! I even wore a plastic bag (but also cu Manang was gonna do my hair). After working out Manang bleached my hair, and then together we washed dishes. Prepared mom some food like chicken noodle, ate that, then ate oatmeal. Ligo and now it's 1:02 am! Gotta wake up relatively early and tidy the basement 💀
Life, I'm lovin' it,

5 Health Warning From Your Armpits That You Should Never Ignore
The only time your armpits manage to get your attention is either when you’re shaving or waxing or applying deodorant. The rest of the times, you’re pretty much oblivious to the existence of your underarms and never really bother to check up on them! That’s not the right attitude to have as your underarms are actually the secret agents of your body. Whenever your body experiences hormonal imbalances, it’s your underarms that convey the message first to you. If only you’d pay attention and not think of it as “God, I stink today!”
The key to living a healthy life is to detect and decode the various signs your body gives out each day, including those given out by your underarms. That’s the only way you can prevent or put an end to health issues that can acquire colossal proportions! So, from time to time, make sure you check your underarms for the following warning signs:
1. Nastier Than Usual Odor
Shutterstock
Body odor is a natural process. It happens due to the accumulation of sweat on your skin. The moist area acts as the perfect breeding ground for bacteria, the presence of which leads to that repulsive odor (1). Apart from using a deodorant, you can easily fix this issue with a nice shower. However, the problem arises when a scrub doesn’t help.
A nastier than usual body odor signals thyroid problems or an imbalance in your hormones. In such cases, consulting your doctor is a must. If your body odor smells sharp and sweet at the same time or has a whiff of nail polish or rotten fruit to it, it could indicate ketoacidosis (2). This means your body is unable to carry out the normal breakdown of sugar. This symptom, in turn, could point to either pre-diabetes or diabetes.
2. Constant Itching
Shutterstock
Just like body odor, itching is normal too. Even if it happens in your underarms! However, if the itch is constant and refuses to go away, you might be suffering from skin irritation (3). This could most likely be a razor rash. If not, allergic reactions are also quite common and are usually caused by a new deodorant, depilation cream, or even fabric. Continuous itching can even suggest a bacterial or fungal infection in your underarms. You should visit your doctor if you see bright red spots and thick overgrowth that’s either yellow or white on your underarms.
3. Pain
Shutterstock
Underarm pain is not a common occurrence. So, if you experience it, you shouldn’t waste any time in getting an appointment booked with your healthcare professional. Soreness of the muscles in your arms is the most plausible reason behind aches in this region (4). Heavy arm lifting or strenuous workouts that pressurize your arms can be blamed for muscle soreness. However, in that case, you won’t feel the pain immediately but only the next day. This kind of pain is not much to worry about as it heals on its own. That said, if it’s persistent and doesn’t respond to common remedies you should get it checked out. It could be that a lymph node in your underarm is swollen and requires medical attention.
4. Rashes
Shutterstock
Due to sweat and bacteria buildup on a daily basis, your underarms are the prime target for rashes. The moist and warm environment in your armpits can lead to yeast infections (5). Such infections can get very uncomfortable and painful. Symptoms of yeast infections include rashes that are bumpy or scaly and are accompanied by redness and itching. Don’t try self-diagnosing these as you may end up causing more harm than good. Other causes of rashes in your underarms could be allergies, excessive sweating, chafing, and heat.
5. Lumps
Shutterstock
Your underarms are made up of several small lymph nodes, which you won’t notice until and unless they become swollen. So, if you feel around your armpits and notice a lump, it might be an inflamed lymph node and nothing else. However, that doesn’t mean you should take it lightly. That’s because lymph nodes that are swollen generally indicate a disease and only appear when you’re going to fall sick (6). They might also occur when your body is trying to fight a type of infection or disease. Swollen lymph nodes go away on their own. But in case they persist for more than a week, you should immediately get them checked out. Such nodes could be highly infected or even cancerous! Especially if the color or the size of the lump changes.
Your body is a whole in which every part plays an important role. Hence, it’s not enough to direct your attention solely towards the more obvious and common parts such as your face, abdomen, neck, back, hands or legs. It’s good to check out your underarms too and see what they have to say.

Dyshidrotic Eczema is a common form of eczema that can crop up as crazy itchy blisters on the sides of fingers, on hands, and on your feet in places like your toes and soles.
If you’ve found your way to this story, there’s a good chance you’re feeling the itch.
Dyshidrotic Eczema is a common form of eczema that can crop up as crazy itchy blisters on the sides of fingers, on hands, and on your feet in places like your toes and soles.
“In the U.S., up to 20 percent of patients with hand eczema will have this specific type,” says New Jersey dermatologist Avnee Shah, M.D., of The Dermatology Group.
Wait, how do I know that's what I have?
Dyshidtrotic eczema looks a little different than your standard eczema rash, says Shah. You'll see firm, deep, fluid-filled bumps that have the consistency of tapioca pudding (welp, never eating that again), explains Shah.
These itchy suckers start off as small bumps on the edges of your hands and feet. But they can turn into larger blisters that rupture after a week or two and leave behind angry, red, scaly skin. So. Fun.
Unlike atopic dermatitis (the "classic" eczema rash most often associated with the condition), dyshidtrotic eczema only shows up on your hands and feet, not on your whole body, says Shah.
And this "rose" goes by many names, according to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD):
Cheiropompholyx
Dyshidrosis
Foot-and-hand eczema
Pedopompholyx
Pompholyx
Vesicular eczema
Vesicular palmoplantar eczema
What causes dyshidrotic eczema?
It's still not clear what specifically causes DE, although there are some risk factors that make some people more likely to get it. If you’re prone to itchy, irritated skin conditions (say you already have another type of eczema), you have a greater chance of having dyshidrotic eczema, says Shah. Or if you have a family member who has DE, you're more like to also have it.
Dyshidrotic eczema tends to happen more during spring allergy season since pollen can trigger it, according to the National Eczema Foundation, as well as from having excessively sweaty hands and feet.
According to the AAD , common triggers of this type of eczema also include:
Extreme stress
Warm, humid weather
Having wet hands regularly throughout the day (like if you're a hair stylist or a health worker that constantly washes hands)
Okay, what are dyshidrotic eczema treatment options?
The first thing you can try at home is a cool compress. Soak a clean washcloth in cool or ice water, wring it dry, and then apply it to itchy skin for several minutes, advises Shah. Immediately follow with a fragrance-free moisturizer or skin barrier repair cream like Eucerin Eczema Relief Body Creme. Repeat multiple times daily.
If things aren't getting any better, you should def see your derm rather than suffer (and itch) in silence. “The first line of treatment is high potency topical steroids-and in severe or stubborn cases, we may also use oral steroids or immunosuppressive agents,” says Shah. Another popular option is monitored and controlled use of ultraviolet light therapy to decrease underlying inflammation in skin.
And a more recent option has been Botox therapy, in which dilute toxin is injected into affected areas like the palms and fingers, and has resulted in a decrease in redness, itching, and overall rash, says Shah.
But good news: Although it's certainly not pleasant, dyshidrotic eczema is not contagious, Shah says. That's because it's an inflammatory condition, which is not caused by an infection. Meaning there's nothing to pass on to anyone else.
So the next time you find your hands itchy and bumpy, maybe bust out the eczema cream. It could simply be BDE (big dyshidrosis energy).

Valley Fever Natural Remedies
Valley Fever Natural Remedies
About Valley Fever Or Coccidioidomycosis
- Fungal Infection. Treatment must be focused on eradicating the fungus in the body.
Causes: Valley fever is caused by fungi– Coccidioides immitis or Coccidioides posadasii – that are particularly prevalent in the southwest.
These fungi thrive in arid desert soils and remain dormant through especially dry spells, forming mold with long filaments.
The filaments break off and become airborne spores as the rains come and soil is disrupted.
Infection is caused by inhaling the particles only; it cannot be spread from person to person.
Once inside the lungs, the spores reproduce, extending the cycle of the disease.
Symptoms: The first signs of the disease often include fever, chest pain, and coughing; however, several other symptoms can also develop.
Additional symptoms include chills, night sweats, headache, fatigue, achy joints, and a red skin rash.
The rash associated with valley fever begins as a red, spotted, bumpy development that then turns brown.
Minus the rash, the other symptoms identified with valley fever mimic flu like symptoms and may range from minor to severe.
What is Coccidioidomycosis?
Coccidioidomycosis, is a fungal disease initiated by infection-causing coccidioides.
More commonly known as valley fever, the infection also goes by several other names – California disease, desert rheumatism, and Joaquin valley fever.
The infection is typically associated with dry, arid areas that are subject to high soil use and disruption.
Natural Treatments:
_________________
Hydrogen Peroxode A regimen of hydrogen peroxide taken orally for an extended period of time cleanses the body and remedies valley fever.
Herbs & Oils: Additional options include herbs, such as mullein leaf tea and turmeric, and anti-fungal oils, including extra virgin coconut oil and oil of oregano.
Detoxify: Detoxing the body is the most important factor for treating valley fever and can be achieved using any of these natural options.
Raw Garlic Eating one or two cloves of raw garlic daily. Garlic has antibiotic and antifungal properties that may make it useful in counteracting fungal infections such as Valley Fever. You can make raw garlic more palatable by chopping it fine and mixing it with food.
Or cut a clove into chunks and swallow them whole like pills (remember, a clove is one of the segments of a head or bulb of garlic).
Antibiotoc / Antifungal Drug - Diflucan(fluconazole) Diflucan (fluconazole), a strong prescription antifungal drug. Side effects of this medication can include nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, or rash. Be sure to tell your physician about any severe or unusual side effects. In rare cases, Diflucan can cause liver damage. It’s not known if Diflucan is safe for use by pregnant women

The 7 Most Common Causes Of Itchy Red Bumps
For SELF, by Amy Marturana.
Regardless of your skin type, chances are you’ve had an itchy, red, bumpy rash at one time or another. It’s like the international sign of skin irritation.
If it’s not affecting your daily life or covering whole body, and you’re not feeling sick otherwise, chances are it’s nothing to worry about and will clear up on its own, Rebecca Kazin, M.D., dermatologist and associate director at the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery, tells SELF. Treating it with over-the-counter hydrocortisone itch relief cream until it goes away may be sufficient. “But if it lasts for over two weeks, or goes away and comes back” or if your itch cream is not bringing you relief, it’s a good idea to visit your dermatologist — you might need a stronger, more targeted medication to clear things up.
But, first consider whether these likely culprits might be the cause of your red, itchy, irritated (and irritating) skin.
1. Allergic reactions to personal care products (especially if you started using something new)
This goes for cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and even your laundry detergent. We come into contact with so many potential allergens every day, that there are numerous possibilities for your skin to become irritated. “People tend to be allergic to preservatives, and some are more allergenic than others,” Kazin says. For example, many people are allergic to PABA, a chemical ingredient in sunscreens that absorbs UV rays, which is why many are now touted as PABA-free. It’s common for people to be allergic to certain fragrances, too. See if you can find a common thread in the products you use, and if it’s just one thing, stop using it. “But if it becomes more of an issue and you can’t figure out what’s causing it, you might need to get patch tested,” which is when an allergist introduces you to small amounts of common allergens to see which ones trigger a reaction.
2. Eczema
Eczema is a general term that’s used to describe many different types of inflammation of the skin, or dermatitis, and can appear anywhere on the body, though it’s most commonly found in the elbow creases or behind the knees. The rash can look very different from person-to-person, but it’s usually intensely itchy, red, and dry.
3. Keratosis pilaris
Also called chicken skin or KP, this common skin condition is a variant of eczema. It causes skin cells to cluster around hair follicles, trapping the hair underneath and causing a raised bump. KP typically shows up on the backs of the arms and thighs in large patches of rough, raised skin. It’s not always itchy, but it can be. Depending on the person’s skintone, these bumps are usually red or brown. It’s chronic, but can be managed with products that include chemical exfoliators like glycolic acid and lactic acid.
4. Rubbing from fabrics
Wearing clothes that rub you in all the wrong places can cause itchy contact dermatitis. “Just that friction factor of the fabric” can be extremely irritating, Kazin says. It often happens if you’re working out and your clothes start to slide against your sweaty skin. If you notice an itchy red rash after hitting the gym, check if it falls where the seams of your athletic wear lies. Cotton is typically not irritating, but bulky, scratchy materials like wool are — especially around your neck.
5. Bug bites
Bug bites typically show up as one or a few distinct red bumps, but many people can develop a generalized allergic reaction after getting bit by certain bugs. This is commonly seen with mosquito bites, and presents as a bumpy, itchy red rash around the area you were bit. If you wake up with itchy red bites you can’t explain, it could be a sign you have bed bugs. These bites typically appear on skin that’s exposed while you’re sleeping, like the arms, shoulders, neck, and face. They can also cause an itchy red rash in people who are sensitive. If you think you could have a tick bite, look for the telltale target-like appearance and see a doctor, as it could develop into Lyme disease. “You can treat normal bug bites on your own with hydrocortisone cream,” Kazin says, but if it looks infected or if it’s leaking pus, you should see a doctor.
6. Heat rash
Heat rash causes itchy red bumps that may also feel prickly and tingle, and usually happens around the neck or other areas where sweat becomes trapped beneath clogged pores. “Heat rash can appear in different forms,” Kazin says. “Sometimes it’s red bumps, but sometimes it’s tiny clear blisters.” The rash is common in hot, humid weather, and usually goes away on its own once the skin is cooled down.
7. Allergic reactions to food or medicine
Eating a food or medicine you’re allergic to can cause you to break out in hives, an itchy red rash that appears as welts (very large bumps). The difference with this type of allergy is that the rash can appear anywhere on your body, versus a skin irritant that causes a rash right where it touched you. Since allergies to foods and medications can be extremely dangerous, it’s important to get checked out ASAP if you have hives or in some way can connect somethings you ingested to a rash.
8. Sun allergy
The most common type is sun poisoning. “Sometimes people have been inside all winter and go into the sun and break out in an itchy red rash,” Kazin says. This is your body having a reaction to a sudden burst of sun exposure. It usually happens on the forearms or other places that have been covered for months and then all of a sudden see the sun. “It doesn’t happen to everybody, but some people have some sort of allergy to it,” Kazin explains.
