I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old format. This took a lot of tweaking and it's not perfect at all, but if anyone wants it I'll be uploading it soonish now!
You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:
Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)
Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.
To add the style, follow the instructions:
Go to this link: https://userstyles.world/style/11286/old-tumblr-dashboard-july-2023
Click on "install".
Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there.

If you don't want the sticky header you can remove the labelled script at the top of the css below /* Sticky Header*/

Known issues:
Only two columns in Masonry view. Unfixable, Tumblr creates columns based on monitor size, if I try adding another column (because it doesn't exist) it just perpetually loads on screen.
Tempfix: Zoom out in chrome/firefox and it adds more columns
Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable!
Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.
If you want people's icons to stay fixed in place, instead of scrolling with the dashboard add;

to the top of the code! You can also create a second userstyle by clicking the 'tumblr.com' part of the link in 'Write new Style' and adding the code in there! That way you don't have to worry about re-adding it when you update.
Solved issues: (Update)
Menus need to be manually closed SOLVED! in V.4 and updated in V.5! The menu & icon WILL scroll with you if you have removed the sticky header CSS, however, clicking anywhere on screen will make the Menu disappear still.
Masonry view in searches is now fixed!
Resized Messenger Chat Box!
NEW UPDATE 16/08/23, 23:55 BST v6.5: Figured out how to reorganise the icons in the header. Let me know if you have any problems with it and make sure to update your Userstyle! Some icons are hidden with Display: Block; you can hide more icons with this method!

UPDATE2 11/04/2024: SO We mighhtttt have overrun their servers. 😅 I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error every time I try to fix it or upload it as a new style - the massive influx of people downloading the userstyle was probably too much. The Tampermonkey backup on Greasyfork works just fine though! Probably easier for a lot of people migrating anyway!

The 2023 Barbie film is a commercial. I’m sure it will be fun, funny, delightful, and engaging. I will watch it, and I’ll probably even dress up to go to the theater. Barbie is also a film made by Mattel using their intellectual property to promote their brand. Not only is there no large public criticism of this reality, there seems to be no spoken awareness of it at all. I’m sure most people know that Barbie is a brand, and most people are smart enough to know this and enjoy the film without immediately driving to Target to buy a new Barbie doll. After all, advertising is everywhere, and in our media landscape of dubiously disclosed User Generated Content and advertorials, at least Barbie is transparently related to its creator. But to passively accept this reality is to celebrate not women or icons or auteurs, but corporations and the idea of advertising itself. Public discourse around Barbie does not re-contextualize the toy or the brand, but in fact serves the actual, higher purpose of Barbie™: to teach us to love branding, marketing, and being consumers.
[...] The casting of Gerwig’s Barbie film shows that anyone can be a Barbie regardless of size, race, age, sexuality. Barbie is framed as universal, as accessible; after all, a Barbie doll is an inexpensive purchase and Barbiehood is a mindset. Gerwig’s Barbie is a film for adults, not children (as evidenced by its PG-13 rating, Kubrick references, and soundtrack), and yet it manages to achieve the same goals as its source material: developing brand loyalty to Barbie™ and reinforcing consumerism-as-identity as a modern and necessarily empowering phenomenon. Take, for example, “Barbiecore,” an 80s-inspired trend whose aesthetic includes not only hot pink but the idea of shopping itself. This is an entire collection that is interwoven with each other. Hair is repositoried to different ages, genders, defaults, and even hidden toddler hair. It's highly recommended that the collection stay intact and that you have the Ultimate Collection or all EP/SP. Recategorizers do not work with this collection
Not all hair works with each sims' faces and not all sims' faces work with each hair. So keep in mind foreheads, cheeks and ears may poke out. Previews are available at LordCrumps.com
The collection includes add ons that may require the defaults and are flagged as "Store Edition" hair. TS4 hairs range from base game to the most recent Stuff Pack (Home Chef Hustle). More hair may be included as add ons in the future.

Most of these hairs exist already in the realm of the community as custom hairstyles. Any of my hair previously converted (shrink, servo, santa hat, etc) should be removed; they'll be included in this collection.
TOU: Please feel free to use these as a template for your defaults and recolor the hair as you'd prefer for download purposes. I only ask that you do not reupload these original files (breaking down to packs, gender, etc) as they are intertwined and may not work without their exclusive counterparts. Please do not make these hairs as customs for reupload.

This took about... 8 months to complete. I've (re)converted all of these myself to my current expectations of my conversion content. This was play tested thoroughly over the course of that time. If there are any issues, please don't hesitate to send an ask. The file size is massive even compressed, but to be honest it's pretty decent for 500+ hair.

I got this ask on main but thought I'd pick it up here, my comics history/fashion ramble blog. I'd been wondering this exact same thing recently, and Google initially wasn't much help—Rocketeer replica jackets describe themselves only as "Rocketeer jackets" and the one Lobster Johnson cosplay thread just suggested ordering one of those.
The most curious part is the double seam and horizonal row of buttons that mark out the entire front as possibly being an unbuttonable "bib", like a plastron front. (Please don't ask how late in the game I worked out that "plastron" is the right word for that.)
The closest genuine Golden Age example of a plastron jacket I found was the military tunic style uniform of Blackhawk, created in 1941.
(Pics from the '52 movie serial (right) really show how awkward it is to combine open lapels + plastron. On a double breasted coat, that chest panel IS the bottom lapel, folded shut.)
Here's the thing: This outfit mirrors that of the Nazi ace pilot he fights in the origin issue, von Tepp (middle). And compare further to the far right: real life WWI flying ace Manfred von Richthofen, AKA the Red Baron, in imperial German Uhlan (lance cavalry) uniform.
"The Germans had designed such great costumes, we decided to use them ourselves," co-creator Cuidera is quoted as saying in Steranko's History of Comics, which (more dubiously, in my opinion) compares the look to the Gestapo or SS. Breeches or jodhpurs weren't strictly a Nazi thing at the time, but they do add to the overall effect.
Compare two other military tunic themed costumes from 1940, on Captain Marvel and Bucky Barnes. These are asymmetrically buttoned, and switch to a more classic circus strongman look below the waist.
But somewhere around 1975, with the Invaders book, Bucky gets a buttoned bib! There's something infectious about it—the symmetry, maybe. (Even re: the characters we started with; Mignola didn't draw Lobster Johnson with buttons down the right side, but every artist after does. And Spider-Noir wore a sweater under his coat until Shattered Dimensions introduced the double-breasted vest.)
If it didn't reach his belt, Barnes' button-on front + shirt collar combo would resemble a bib-front western shirt, like the one that became the Rawhide Kid's signature look in '56. (Or Texas Twister's in '76.)
This shirt entered the old-West-obsessed public imagination in the 1940s/50s largely because John Wayne wore it in several cowboy movies. In reality it was rare among cowboys, more common with firefighters and civil war era militia.
Military tunics, Western shirts, alright, but does anything match the style and material and era, or are these jackets a total anachronism? I tried looking into 1930s leather flight jackets and was surprised when the closest-looking results were marked as Luftwaffe.
It took me a bit to work out why: USAF and RAF issued standard flight jackets with a center closure. The Luftwaffe instead let their pilots buy non-standardized ones. The 'weird' double-breasted black German flight jackets were in fact fairly normal (but repurposed) motorcycle racing jackets.
Far left is an English biker's jacket that dates back to the 1920s. Even without the bib, this may be as close as you'll get to an authentic Rocketeer. The jodhpurs were pretty common to complete the look. (What was an early motorcycle anyways, if not a weird metal horse?) The first biker jacket with the now iconic off-center diagonal zip was designed in America in 1928 and yet as far as I can tell, not a single actual pre-war pulp hero wore one.
The greatest weakness of this post is that I haven't been able to find any of these artists' notes on how, exactly, they arrived at similar versions of this iconic Pulp Front Panel Jacket. I'm sure I've missed some things. But as far as I can tell, this jacket is an odd bit of convergent stylistic evolution from the above influences that's picked up enough momentum to now be self-perpetuating.
The problem with pulp heroes is that for the most part, they just wore clothes. The appeal of this jacket is actually very similar to what the 1940s thought the appeal of the bib-front shirt in westerns was: It's alien enough to feel "old". It looks like something invented before zippers or synthetic fabrics. It looks formal and militant but also renegade, rebellious. It also looks a little mad-sciencey*. It's a costume, but you can nearly fool yourself into thinking the past was weird enough that you could find something this cool on the rack.
If I wanted to end on some grand point, I could try to argue that there's a thematic throughline between fascist fashion, John Wayne movies, and throwback pulp. A manufactured aesthetic valorizing the violence of a fictional golden age... but I think the noir stylings of the post-Rocketeer comics in this lineup mean that, at least on some level, they know the "good guys" didn't dress like this.
*If I had another couple weeks of time to burn, I'd try to trace the visual history of the Howie coat in popular culture and investigate its possible connections to this. Alas, I do actually have a life.

Fun fact: Ezaki actually hates Menhera-chan because it's the only thing he ever gets approached for by the media, he constantly rants about this on Twitter. If you have noticed, he barely makes new MCH content anymore (unless he gets paid for it) and mainly reposts old artworks and fanart (without permission) instead because it's the only way he can still get attention as his other works, like the misogynist Manapisu, which is just him hating on women as "dumb wh*res" as a manga, flopped badly.
Just try to not fund his bs by buying new goods.

Victor wanted to play god. Created monster. Monster tried to kill him. Killed his brother, his gf, and his BFF, and came after him. A horror icon, and the modern archetype of the mad scientist in fiction. He's a pathetic pissbaby that needs to be punched. Cunt dies in the end get rekked lol.

Fashion is a Royal (and Family) Affair
That Crown Princess Barbie is a student of Uspanian style isn’t a surprise. For this issue, she recounts the historical episode at the heart of our memorial for the late Queen Beatriz. Pictured above in private photos are: Mother Desideria in 1860; Mother Zuriñe in 1885; Mother Rowena and then-Crown Prince Alfonso in 1926.
THE “BIRDIE” ISSUE OF VOGUE USPANA debuted in 1973. At the time, the magazine was in its infancy. An issue shaped by the queen—and it was, from cover to cover, driven by her desires and presence—ensured longevity. It proved to be a bestseller. Clothes, too, flew off the racks as Uspana’s designers received a boost among popular consumers. A textiles renaissance commenced among women of a certain class who had been looking elsewhere for quality fabric. Then and now, this was the mission of the magazine: loyalty to Uspanian fashion. The Birdie issue was a testament to this, from the sensibilities it imparted to the sourcing of its materials. The queen’s favorite designers, stylists, and photographers filled the issue; it made them iconic, and they would continue to set national trends for decades to come.
More importantly, the Birdie issue fit into a larger project underway during Beatriz’s reign. Foreign fashion’s creep into the Uspanian mainstream had started two centuries before Beatriz obtained the Crown, but it reached its cultural apex under the sway of her mother. Uspana’s people had long reviled Queen Rowena’s taste in one breath and wished to emulate it in the second. The two women were not seemingly opposed in a diametric sense. They overlapped under the label of “extravagant,” namely, but Beatriz was forgiven her excess.
The Birdie issue, in retrospect, shows why. In an initial meeting with the queen, she told then-editor Lluc Soler that she cared deeply about a “revival” of traditional fashion in the country. Soler replied that traditional fashion was alive and well—“in the mountains, with the grandmothers.” Some in the annals have suggested that this retort led to control of the issue being ceded informally to a team with whom the queen preferred to work. (By 1975, Papan Ibarra had risen from those ranks to become the magazine’s new editor-in-chief, a position she occupied until 1991.) Nonetheless, a certain truth in Soler’s statement formed the foundation of the issue. It did draw heavy inspiration from those grandmothers in the mountains. This included people such as the queen’s own grandmother, Mother Zuriñe, who readily embraced the aesthetics of Yaas and was a master weaver in her own right.
The cover reflected the elevated homage orchestrated within. On it, Birdie herself posed in a wool rebozo hand-dyed with cochineal. This garment was a perfect duplicate of the so-called suncloths the queen’s great-grandmother, Mother Desideria, wore on a regular basis in the late nineteenth century. Fittingly, it was also topped with a replica inspired by the time. One of the many jewelry pieces destroyed during the 1880s had been the Shield Flower tiara with its red fire opal set in gold and symbolic allusions to the sacrifice and self-immolation of Uspana’s founding mothers.
Queen Beatriz wore tiaras on many occasions, but it was widely known that she preferred to wear the true Uspanian symbol of elite regalia: the jade necklace. For that reason, jade

Related to my last reblog, I too would like to talk about my thoughts about the rentry editing community and the editing community in general as well.
Maybe it's just with a lot of new users, but I've been seeing a lot of issues with EDITORS crediting others, not just non-editors.
TL;DR: If using anything from non-official sources, if you cannot find the credit, don't use it. Literally if someone asks for credit, credit. (With the exception of commissioned art, like with Project Sekai birthday art, while it may be official, the original artist still needs to be credited)
This has been said several times by several bloggers but still must be said but please credit fanart. Not only that, not all artists want their art to be edited or used. Please read their bios before using their art. If it's not in something you can read, please translate it via copy and paste or whatever is easier for you.
Please don't re-edit edited images unless you have permission or the creator says its okay. This especially applies to the rhythm game editors, please make sure you're not editing card edits before posting
If a PSD isn't made by you and you're posting an edit using it, credit the person that made it. The person that made it contributed as much to the edit as you did, and should be credited.
This ALSO applies to gifs (stim and non stim). Gifs in general take time to make, and should always be credited to their creators (in a direct link to the post it was from). For stim gifs, crediting stimboards they were used in does not count unless it was somehow edited. (For filtered gifs, credit BOTH the person that edited it and the original poster)
THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE CENTER IMAGE FOR STIMBOARDS. If you use a gif or icon made by someone else?? Literally credit it. Don't try to claim it as yours, the original creators can usually recognize it as their own.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CREDIT RENTRY GRAPHICS IF YOURE MAKING A RENTRY TEMPLATE WITH GRAPHICS THAT AREN'T YOURS. You're bringing both yourself and the people using your template unnecessary trouble.
Please credit renders if the creator asked for it!
And for the frequent rebuttals to this:
"I can't find the source!" Google has an option to search by plugging in an image called Google Lens, literally on the Google Images page. Yandex also functions similarly. SauceNAO works for art and anime-adjacent media, you might want to turn on safe search.
"I don't know where to find official art!" Okay, here are some links for several fandoms. Feel free to suggest more sites.
"I can't find high enough quality art!" See above link. If you are really desperate, you can mess around with the settings of Waifu2x or bigjpg to enhance and enlarge an image!

hey im not a cc creator and i saw your most recent post, is that why its so hard to find good textured sims 3 hair? im always on the look out but i can only seem to find dead links and the same like 5 hairs being retextured, i didnt know there was a actual reason why its hard to get ones from 4 into 3!!
Ik i was wondering that too! It wasn't until i tried converting some myself till I realized.
Let's take the penisha ponytails by sheabuttyr as an an example. Here's how the hair is supposed to look:
(beautiful, gorgeous, legendary,, iconic, my heart was ripped to shreds when i found out i couldn't convert it)
and here's how it looks when you take it into blender:
...yeah.
What the creator did here was they drew the baby hairs and hairline directly on the scalp itself (this doesn't show up in blender). That's a problem for us converters, because here is what the sims 4 scalp texture looks like compared to the sims 3:
As you can see, the sims 4 scalp is more of a front view of the hair, while the sims 3 scalp is a back view of the hair. So unless you re-draw the texture yourself, it's nigh impossible to get it to the sims 3.
What sims 3 converters are really looking for are hairs that draw on a transparent layer on top of the scalp, like this (transparency in sims 4 studio's blender template shows up as this beige color):
This makes converting it super easy (you just have to turn off "draws on scalp" in TSRW to get it to show up).
However with maxis match hairs you can also run in to another problem. Let's take this one for example:
As you can see, this hair is split into a bunch of tiny irregular pieces, which as you can imagine is a pain in the ass to color map.
So yeah, that's part of the reason why a lot of people can't convert natural hair to the sims 3. A lot of these creators don't create with converters in mind, which is totally fine since they don't owe it to anyone and they can create things however they like. just a pain for those of us who play ts3 lol.

Beginner Blender Tutorial
Basic Render: Part One (Importing a Sim and Adjusting Textures)
To learn the basics, we'll begin with a super simple render: one sim, one pose, one background.
But first, the anatomy of blender.

Yellow - 3D viewport (workspace)
The 3D Viewport is used to interact with the 3D scene for a variety of purposes, such as modeling, animating, texture painting, etc.
Green - Outliner
The Outliner is a list that organizes data in the blend-file, i.e. the scene data, Video Sequencer data, or anything that gets stored in a blend-file.
Blue - Properties
The Properties shows and allows editing of many active data, including the active scene and object.
Red - Timeline
The Timeline editor, identified by a clock icon, is used for manipulating keyframes and scrubbing the Playhead.

I won't outline their uses just now, but we'll be going over them as we use them.
Different creators like to split their blender window up in different ways, but this is my preferred setup when I'm working:
I use the yellow half of the screen as a render preview/3D workspace
I use the blue half for shader editing, posing, etc.
You can set yours up like mine or find what's comfortable for you.
When you first open blender, you'll be greeted by the default cube, lamp, and camera.
Delete them! You can do this two ways:
Click and drag your mouse over all 3 and delete or
Select all 3 in the side menu and hit x on your keyboard
Step 1: Importing our Sim
After deleting the default items, we'll import our sim. This tutorial assumes you've already ripped your sim (if you haven't, check here for how to do so!)
Now, let's import.
Click file -> import -> collada (dae)
Select your DAE and click "import"
Your sim will look a little... off (thick eyelashes and a weird shine), but that's okay we're going to fix it!
Your sim might also look solid white. If that's the case, make sure you're in the right mode.
You can adjust modes by clicking on one of the four circles in the top right of the screen.
These are your viewport modes.
Wireframe (far left) - good for mesh editing
Solid (middle left) - good for posing
Material Preview (middle right) - what we work in most, shows everything with textures (color)
Rendered (far right) - this shows your render preview
We'll be working mostly in Material Preview
You can also switch between modes by hitting z on your keyboard then selecting which one you want
I'll be using mostly keyboard shortcuts but I'll show you how to do both as we go along
Step 2: Adjusting Our Sim's Textures
Let's fix our sim's textures.
First. set up your workspace.
Separate your workspace into two windows (as shown in the picture above with a yellow half and a blue half) and select "shader editor" in your right-side window. Like this:
Next, navigate to your Outliner and click the little dropdown beside "rig"
Under "rig" you'll see your sim's body parts listed. We're going to select "Body"
When we click "Body", these colored blocks will appear in our shader editor window.
These are called Nodes. We use Nodes to adjust textures for various items in blender (sims, walls, furniture, etc).
To add a new Node, you can select "add" in the top bar, or hit Shift+A on your keyboard and add in the node you need.
We're going to add in a Mix Shader and a Transparent Shader (both found under the Shader tab) and adjust our nodes this way:
Snug the Mix Shader between the Principled BSDF and the Material Output. Now we have to connect our Nodes and adjust our Principled BSDF.
For the sake of this tutorial, I'll show the basic Node & Shader adjustments, but we'll go into each of them in a later tutorial.
Adjust your Principled BSDF like this, then connect your Node lines exactly like this:
You'll see that our SIm's body looks a bit different from her head, hair and shoes. That's good! Now we need to duplicate that texture to the rest of our sim.
Navigate to your Outliner again, and use Shift+Click to select the rest of the body parts in the list
Don't select pose or rig.001 and make sure the Body is selected first
EDIT: You'll only see "body" if your sim has a full body outfit on! If they have a shirt and pants, you'll have "Bottom" and "Top" instead!
In this case, select "bottom"!
Now, hover your cursor over your sim/the 3D viewport window, and press Ctrl+L on your keyboard.
This brings up the Link/Transfer data window.
Select "Link Materials"
Our sim is looking better, but her eyelashes are still dark, let's fix that now.
In your Properties area, navigate to Material Properties (the little red ball)
Change your Blend Mode to Alpha Hashed
We will always set Blend Mode to Alpha Hashed
Now our sim looks right!
In Part Two, we'll pose her, set up the scene, and run the render!

Here I have another posepack I made for #mochilerosviajeros ' collab. This time we are travelling to Strangerville with an amazing short story that you can read here (where you can see more previews of the poses), and incredible builds... and for that, we needed some militar training poses!!
This time I have made 2 posepacks for the collab and this is the 1st one.
What is #MochilerosViajeros? It is a collab that consists on going through the worlds that exist in the game so far in search of a final prize. How?: @Pizca21 and @SantrufaS will be in charge of bringing us beautiful constructions and @Veronic32804362 and @Y_randsims will show these constructions through incredible stories where we can also see makeovers of iconic townies from each world.
My part in the collab is to make posepacks for my fellow story creators who will use their pack in their monthly chapter to look out for the clues that will lead the main characters to the final price.
