*clutching head* rodya and meursault would have such a good dynamic actually
I wonder if rodya would initially see meursault's indifference as like. a simpler version of her own feigned carefreeness and as a deliberate attempt to place himself as an outsider... only to realise that No, he really Is just Like That. and then she gets annoyed because it turns out that people who don't care about anything don't seem to be any fun.
(ofc he does actually care about a lot of things, just not necessarily his grander place in the world lol)
idk. nihilism vs absurdism. fun duo 👍 rodya would find meursault's genuine comfort with being a speck of dust in the universe baffling, while he would probably find her desire to assert her own importance pointless, but they could probably bond over little things like their shared desire to live in the present and appreciation of/indulgence in earthly joys. and meursault would probably listen if rodya wants to rant about anything without asking any uncomfortable questions. I think they could appreciate each other's presence.

my feelings on like, nedbert is that they could never get to the stavos point of actual fucking, like even with a massive amount of modern day therapy, i think both of them would approach ~being gay~ as like, queerness is something you Do not something you Are and i don’t think either of them could ever recognize that what they feel is attraction to another man let alone acting on that feeling. whereas imo stannis is very aware of how he’s Not A Real Man and i think resents renly for being just a paragon of westerosi masculinity while also Doing Gayness & davos is imo aware that his feelings for stannis Are More Than Normal but has rationalized this as devotion to His King in a similar way to Loras’ feelings about Renly being The True King and also ya kno, exactly like Ned’s own devotion to Robert (the fact that ALL THREE OF THOSE FAILURES got themselves dedicated husbands despite being objectively terrible picks to be kings?? god!!)
so like for some characters it’s like are they gay? that’s their business not mine, that’s between robert and the light of the seven okay if ned wants to come out to catelyn that’s between them that’s a private marriage and it’s not my business!!

IE villains's motivations through the games/seasons :
Franck Wintersea : "I am just a coward who fear for his life. I didn't wanted to be involved into those soccer shits in the first place"
Ray Dark : "soccer brought shame on my father and me by proxy. I grew bitter about it, and now i am evil"
Astram Schiller : "I'm blinded by the sadness of loss of my son, killed by someone unknown that wasn't punished for this therefore. The world must suffer for this injustice"
Wyles : "I am an opportunist. I saw I could become powerful while my boss was falling, I didn't hesitate seizing it"
Zoolan Rice : "your misery increases my money"
5th sector : "our goal is to establish communism into middleschool soccer, so that every child can taste success at least once"
Protocol Omega : "by erasing soccer through History, we prevent the existence of the most powerful terrorist organization in our time"
Nugen : "we didn't chose to be mutants with superpower, the adults chose to treat us like monsters"
Ixal Fleet : "Faram Orbius destroyed our planet. We want reperation"
Scale of Ares guy (i forgot his name) : "i plan to make some gifted children the ultimate supersoldiers at my command"
Orion Foundation : "we are a philanthropic organization that only longs to make the world a better place. But in the process, some evil will be necessary"

I've found that, when interacting with others (or myself), it's useful to consider the lessons I'd want to teach a growing child.
If a child makes a mistake, I wouldn't want them to feel shame. I wouldn't yell at them, humiliate them, or in any way indicate to them that their mistake is a reflection of their worth or of who they are as a person.
Instead, I'd want them to associate the process with love and joy. If they say something that hurts someone's feelings, or otherwise ostracizes someone in some way, I'd compassionately explain to them. Ideally, they'd walk away knowing why they said / did it in the first place, how to handle similar situations in the future, and would accept the consequences (e.g. if a friend no longer wanted to hang out with them).
While the consequences may sometimes be painful, I'd do my best to instill in them that mistakes are human and natural, and that the process of learning from these mistakes is an opportunity to improve connections with others and express love.
I have a tendency towards excessive guilt. Memories in which I've said / done something ignorant or hurtful are infused with this guilt and shame- but ideally, I'd feel a sense of love and peace, and perhaps happiness, when looking back on them. Because they were moments of growth, moments I learned how to be more compassionate (even if the actual learning came years later).
So I'll put this out into the void:
When you make a mistake, that is not a reflection of you as a person. It is a moment in time, a moment which was informed by your past experiences. Humans are not static labels, or monsters in an RPG game. We are social creatures who live and learn and react and grow and experience and love. Be gentle with yourself and move forward knowing you're doing so in accordance with your values.

💎💎💎for agria if you're still taking these and it strikes your fancy lol!
I am still taking them! Sorry it took so long, took some time to decide who would be most interesting to answer this one. So here's Giliys's thoughts on Agria (whom he has nicknamed 'Threads' because Giliys can't just call people by their names like a normal person, I'm so sorry).
"Threads? Well. I think I'd have liked her better if we met before the fifth crusade. I know she's got rich family, but she doesn't really count as nobility. I mean, she coulda stayed in Brevoy and tried to blend in with with the fancy Lebedas, sucked up to them, tried to marry up, but she didn't. She went and said she was part of a people with no home scattered all over Avistan, and when she realized their culture had been stolen from them, she went and said she'd steal it back. That takes guts.
"But then Areelu fucking Vorlesh got ahold of her, and - " Giliys stops himself, face taut with rage. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "Look. I know most people think I don't have a conscience cuz it's calibrated different than most. But I do know this: the worst, most unforgivale things you can do to someone are the things that hurt the soul. And I know, I know, I done plenty of that in my time, but I also know it's fucked up. What Areelu Vorlesh did was un-fucking-forgivable. And Threads did her best to pick up the pieces and stitch herself back together, but...she decided not to fix what she did to her, didn't she? I don't know if she didn't think it was possible or if she actually thought she was better off for it, but either way - I mean - that's not something you choose if your soul is whole.
"So yeah. It's funny, I don't have a problem with her having magic powers from the Abyss. But the power she has as knight-commander...yeah, that's the kind of thing that twists you up inside, makes you into something else. Something that can't be fixed. And I hope Galfrey rots for pushing her into that when she was already torn up inside by Vorlesh."

I'm trying to reserve judgement on the new missing episode rumours until we know something concrete bc I don't want to get my hopes up so all I'll say is. the idea of keeping missing episodes in private collections rather than sharing them fills me with rage and I think I should be legally allowed to maul anyone who does this. thanks <3

You know something interesting? Legendary male robin seems to be from a timeline where he let chrom kill grima. His voice lines hint towards this.
There's one where he's like "do you have any heroes who know about dragons? I want to ask them something" which could be a reference to him and chrom trying to find another answer to slay grima. However, what's more concrete is that in the jp version, robin has a dialogue where he says "chrom saved me. He told me my life was worth living and asked me to stay with him." Combine that with legendary chrom coming from a timeline where he slayed grima and robin having so much exhalt merch on him lmao, I think it would make sense that they are from the same timeline
Very interesting that IS would make his legendary alt based from that since from a pure practical standpoint, robin sacrificing himself is a better deal😭
That's really interesting!! But honestly...I don't agree that Robin's self-sacrifice is a better deal. Don't get me wrong, I love the story potential of Robin sacrificing themselves to save the world (and I certainly make use of it a lot), but the both of them hailing from a world where Chrom took Grima down means that in that world, Robin heard Chrom say that he didn't need to carry the weight alone and actually believed it. It's a Robin who trusted in the friends that he'd made, and who actually chose to live on with his friends and loved ones rather than burden them with a grave loss atop their victory. The idea that this Robin truly did save the world, even for just a little while, with the power of his bonds rather than his blood is honestly really touching to me.
Personally, I like it. I'm all for this Robin being a Legend because he learned something and chose not to make the same choices and the same sacrifices that those before him had. He didn't martyr himself like Emmeryn did, didn't force Chrom to live through the loss of another loved one: he chose to put his faith in the bonds that had already defied fate once, and got to live without fear because of it. That's beautiful to me.
