Rammstein Meet and Greet in Mexico City 10/02/22
Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting four of the rammboys before their show in Mexico City and thought it’d be nice to share my experience (plus I’ll be able to reread and relive this every day for the rest of my life) ♥️
Get ready for a very long post:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oliver:
He was serious but very kind. He came, greeted me quietly, smiled a bit when he heard me greeting him in German, signed my book and then left before we could have our picture taken because Tom (their meet & greet assistant) got distracted by someone and forgot to take it. I have to admit that I freaked a bit about that cause I thought I had missed my opportunity but Tom noticed immediately and asked Oli to come back.
We shot the pic and then I moved to the side to let him pass through but instead of that he stepped really close to me (which ofc made me scream internally) and without saying a word, he took the book from my hands and started flipping through it, then he saw the cover with a really confused face, gave it back to me and left. That’s when I started wondering if the band actually know about the merch they sell cause he looked as if he didn’t know what that was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flake:
He was so happy and cheerful the entire time. He greeted me in English and when I answered in German he gave me a huge smile and switched for the rest of our chat which went a bit like this:
(I handed him the book and he saw the pic I had chosen of him)
Flake: (laughing) „Das bin nicht ich!“ - That’s not me!
Me: „Was meinst du damit? Natürlich bist du das!“ - What do you mean? Of course that’s you!
Flake: (laughing even harder) „Nein, nein. Das gefällt mir nicht, das bin ich nicht“ - No, no. I don’t like that. That’s not me.
Me: „Wer ist es dann?“ - Who is it then?
Flake: (still laughing) „Ich weiß nicht, lass uns nach einem anderen Foto suchen“ - I don’t know, let’s look for another photo.
(We flipped through the pages until he saw one he actually liked)
Flake: „Sieh dir das an, das bin ich“ - Look at that one, that’s me.
(He signed it, we had our photo taken and then he started inspecting the book the same way Oli had)
Flake: (surprised) „Wo kauftest du es?“ - Where did you buy this?
Me: „In dem Rammstein Shop” - In the Rammstein shop
Flake: „Wirklich? Toll! Ich hatte es nicht gesehen! Sowieso, vielen Dank, viel Spaß bei der Show! - Really? Cool! I hadn’t seen it! Anyway, thank you so much, have fun at the show!
Me: „Vielen Dank!“ - Thank you!
Flake: (laughing as he walked away) „Aber das war nicht ich!“ - Still that wasn’t me!
Me: „Das bist du doch!“ - It is you!
After that I think someone asked him about the meaning of his nickname, to which he answered “Flake es flaquito” (“skinny” in Spanish)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paul:
He arrived before Flake left and told him, wearing his usual cheeky grin, to speak Berlinerisch Deutsch with us. Then he greeted me in English and laughed really loud when he saw his pic on the book. I asked to hug him, to which he answered „Ja doch!“ (yes, of course!) and gave me a big nice hug (I wished that Tom had taken our photo in that moment but sadly didn’t). Then he wished me fun at the show and left.
After that, a girl showed him a photo of him and Richard kissing and asked him if they’d do it that night, he only laughed and said “We’ll see what happens”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Till:
We knew he was coming cause he almost kicked the wall to the ground before coming in. He was super nice the entire time, spoke to everyone in Spanish and joked around a lot. Once he came to me, I totally froze and couldn’t do more than greet him and show him his pic on the book. He noticed my reaction with a smile and was very kind about it, he signed my book and then I somehow managed to ask if I could hug him. He immediately embraced me super tight and then we had our photo taken.
After that I was about to let him go but he held me tighter and started growling loudly. That’s when I finally came to my senses, I looked up to him and laughed but in a second he had already picked me up and was dragging me out of the room. Everyone started screaming and I told him “you can take me with you if you want, I’d be happy to go” to which he laughed, gave me a peck in the head and let me go. Then he took my hand gently and led me back to the group. Finally he shook my hand, made a bow and said it was really nice to meet me.
The meet & greet ended shortly after that and we were led back to the stage area. It’s needless to say that it was the best day of my life.

Paul Landers playing in Mexico City, 2022.
"We consider the Mexican fans as the most enthusiastic. For us, it's always like coming home when we come to play to Mexico. We like the colourful sarapes and the colourful handicrafts; the Mexican airline gave us mango with chilli and, of course, tequila, which has already caused us so many headaches!" | Paul for the fansite Rammstein-Mexico in 2011

31 Days Idol Challenge - Day 26: On the Floor
There are actually quite a few photos of Oliver Riedel on the floor (or on the ground, which I have also included here). My top pick is from one of my favourite photo shoots of Rammstein (ok, I will admit I have a lot of favourites, but still): The Rosenrot "fashion" promo shoot by Kasskara Agentur. Oliver's wife dressed up the band for this shoot, and maybe it's just me, but there are so many photos from this session where he looks proud and confident.
As part of this shoot, Mat Hennek and Felix Broede took photos of all the band members lying on the ground, and Oliver's looks so peaceful. I really like this shot of him.
Bonus material: 1) Oliver gets physiotherapy while his dog waits patiently. From the 2019 Europe Stadium Tour, photo by Jens Koch. 2) Oliver relaxing during the recording of Reise, Reise. Photo possibly by Paul Landers. 3) Young Oliver sitting on the floor. Photo by Casper Pfeiffer. 4) Oliver stretching before a show during the LIFAD Tour. Photo by Frédéric Batier. 5) Oliver on the floor most likely in his and Paul's shared dressing room. Unknown photographer, possibly Batier as well. 6) Oliver and Paul's dog Minni in Mexico, screenshot from an official band reel posted during the 2022 North America Stadium Tour. 7) Sad screenshot from the Adieu music video.

Rammstein plans New Year's Eve concert on the Theresienwiese
Aug 4, 2022 at 7:00 p.m
The band wants to give a concert in front of 145,000 spectators in Munich at the turn of the year. The official Yes of the city is still pending, politicians should decide in August.
By Heiner Effern
There could be a New Year's Eve party in Munich this year like never before: The Rammstein band wants to give a concert on the Theresienwiese for 145,000 spectators on the last evening of the year. The city has recently received an inquiry from the musicians, who have also been playing internationally in the top league of the industry for decades. According to information from the SZ, another location in Germany is said to be in the running: the Zollverein in Essen, a former colliery site in the Ruhr area.
"Munich would be the first choice," said economics officer Clemens Baumgärtner (CSU), who is also responsible for tourism in the city. A concert with a crowd puller like Rammstein would be "a wonderful opportunity" for the people of Munich and also for many visitors from outside who he would expect to attend such an event, he said. He doesn't think it's a major problem that the Winter Tollwood was being held on the Theresienwiese in the weeks before. The space potential there is shown every year at the Oktoberfest. The area is large enough to allow both events to take place. "There would even be a lot of interaction possible," said Baumgärtner. Both events could potentially benefit from each other.
Rammstein concerts are characterized by the fact that very hard music can be heard very loudly in the arena and beyond. In addition, there is usually no lack of pyro effects and the attention of the worldwide fan base. Rammstein fits New Year's Eve, on this evening there are not many people on the road and the mood is loud and exuberant, said Baumgärtner. And Rammstein, in turn, likes New Year's Eve as a concert date, in 2018, for example, they played in Mexico. At that time they performed on the beach, this time the big show should be in the heart of Munich. It can probably be ruled out that snow, ice or rain would keep the fans from attending the concert. Even the often high ticket prices usually do not slow down the visitors.
Baumgärtner hopes that the targeted high number of viewers will keep the prices reasonably within limits. In the Olympic Stadium with a capacity of around 70,000 visitors that is hardly possible, he said. In addition, the renovation would already start there. That's why Baumgärtner thinks the Theresienwiese is a good choice, although he knows that people look very closely there when concerts aren't staged in the city's big arenas. Modern technology would be used on the Theresienwiese, like the upcoming major concerts in the trade fair in Riem, which should keep the volume to the outside within limits, he explained.
In his tourism strategy, the business consultant focuses on positioning Munich as a top international event and concert location. This is one of the reasons why Robbie Williams, Helene Fischer and Andreas Gabalier will appear in Riem in the coming days . A Rammstein concert in the city center would also cause an international sensation, he is convinced of that. Rammstein has a worldwide fan base like no other German band.
The Rammstein concert is to be broadcast live
A live broadcast of the performance would also be planned, possibly via a prominent streaming service. Baumgärtner speaks of an "enormous advertising value" for Munich, and some things would also get stuck economically. The lucrative advance ticket sale could go through Munich ticket, the MVG should receive a combined ticket for arrival.
The task at City Hall is to form an opinion as quickly as possible. "Last exit August," said Baumgärtner. It was initially unclear whether and when the Rammstein plans would be put on the agenda. During the summer break there are three emergency sessions in which urgent issues are dealt with. The local politicians in the adjacent district committees are often critical of an additional use of the Theresienwiese. The city council would make such a decision anyway.

– 2 0 2 1 ;
I usually do these before the year ends but I had so much to do this last week so here it goes lol
Mehr was the song of my year. As it has been for the past couple of years. It’s my kick-start, what kind of fuels me for the year to come. It’s just a tradition that I’ve been keeping for, idk, three years? It just feels like the year will be better. And I did have high hopes for 2021, after the fiasco that was the previous year. It was my last year in university, I was planning a trip to Mexico to see Rammstein with my best friend, Lily, it seemed like things would be better. And they kinda were but not the way I planned it haha as always, the first few months are a huge blur, so I might not be able to retell everything that went on.
I can’t actually remember how January and February were, because I had quit my job on September of the previous year, so I spent most of my time doing nothing. Came February 12th, I was hired again. I had to quit because the guy that turned to be my boss was someone I almost dated and he kept harassing me (and my colleagues), but he got fired in December, and they hired me back in February. It was pretty hard at first, getting used to a new boss and a new teammate, but it turned out fine and we all got along pretty well.
March was my birthday. I had changed my name legally a few months before that, and my parents weren’t that okay with the idea, but I had the biggest surprise on my birthday when my mom came home with a balloon that had my actual name on it. I still have that balloon, and it was the one thing that gave me hopes that one day they’ll just forget that my deadname even existed. My mom introduces me to other people by my name now, so slowly things change and they are beginning to understand and respect.
Between February and June I wrote my thesis. It was my last semester in Law School and I wrote about Euthanasia basing on Constitutional Law and Human Rights. It was a topic I really cared about, but as I researched, it became even more important to me. I gave my presentation in June, got a 10/10 with an A and recommendation to publish. My teachers spent 20 minutes just saying nice things about me and my project, and I felt so proud of myself. I was invited to participate in my teacher’s class and talk about my project, something I plan on doing in 2022.
In the first semester I also did something very impulsive that I truly don’t regret. I was finishing my degree, and, well, I ended up enrolling in University again, but this time in a Technology Science course. My dad is also taking it, and we’re helping each other. We just finished our first year (:
Now, after I finished Law School I had the option of either just leaving it be, or taking the bar exam. To be honest I never really thought I’d do it, because I was a bit intimidated and honestly quite scared of failing it. I started studying for it anyway back in July, took the first exam in October. Passed it. Took the second exam in December and I think I passed, but the official results are coming out in January. So, yeah, I finish 2021 halfway through being a lawyer. Almost confirmed. I decided that if I do pass, I’m joining my city’s public defense (idk if that’s the right term BUT, it’ll have to work) and being an estate attorney. It’s going to be a challenge, but we’ll see how it goes.
Back in August I met someone that ended up becoming very important to me. We got a new intern at work, as I became an assistant to the district attorney, and this girl turned out to be so much like me and we became great friends. She helped me getting back to my habit of reading, and we’re talking about helping each other getting back to writing this year, as she’s also a writer. We also talk about eventually being work partner, because she’ll be a lawyer soon as well, so we’ll see if that works out.
In October I went to see one of my best friends, I stayed over for a few days and we hung out most days, going to meet the city and seeing lots of nice places. I also got a few new friends, that I met through one of my best friends, and I think it’s one of the best things that happened to me this year. I spent a lot of time with them and we did a lot of things together, and it’s just been quite some time since I felt comfortable in a group of friends. So, yeah, this was the year of healthy friendships too.
Other than that, I joined the gym again, which I’ve been wanting to do for quite a while, and I’m on the process of building a better routine that includes things I enjoy doing, as well as things I need to do. It’s been good so far, and I’ve managed to do so much. I’m back practicing the guitar and german, I now have a self care routine, I read a lot more too and I also exercise. It was the first step towards a healthier life and mindset, and I’m glad I did it.
Last year I didn’t really set myself goals for the new year, and I think I like keeping it that way, so I just want this year to be even better. I didn’t get to see Lily, but 2022 will be the year we’ll finally meet and I can’t wait.
2021 was a good year for me, despite all odds. I grew up a lot, got a lot healthier, started doing better things for me and I feel like 2022 will be even better. I have good feelings so hopefully next time I come here to write a year review, I have even better things to say.
Happy New Year if you read this thing!

2021, the year that ended what I started in 2019
This year, was my favorite so far
On 2019, I started to plan the trip I have dreamt my entire life.
On June 2019, a friend and I decided to go see Rammstein in Europe, something that just seemed like a crazy idea we wouldn’t actually do. Plan was to go see them live to any city in Germany, starting with Berlin as a first option, since it’s the dream city.
Ticket sale came, it was July 5 2019 and all tickets were sold out so quick. My friend was sad about it and I told him to look into a different city, that’s when we got tickets to Lyon, France... the moment the planning started.
Both of us were like, “now what?”, so we started saving in his debit card, waiting for the perfect moment to get our plane tickets, since it’s the biggest expense we were going to have for sure. We even requested credit cards and got the approved, in case we needed them.
On October, we started seeing some good prices for flights, but our cards got declined and we couldn’t get the payment to be accepted, but it was fine since we were using search sites, not the airline’s page. So on November 2nd, we got our deal with Aeromexico, our flight to Paris was bought.
By December, we had figured out our stays in Airbnb, the bus to Lyon, the flight to Berlin and back to Paris, all we were waiting was to get museum tickets and Disneyland, so we left that for 2020. We went to a Lindemann show in Mexico City, it was our Road to Rammstein, since we also got tickets for Rammstein in Mexico City for the North America Stadium Tour, but little we know our plans were going to change.
Early 2020 and the pandemic got to Europe, the to Mexico and all was shut down. We had to pay to change our flights from Mexico to Paris, everything else was easier and more understanding on the situation. We were told by the Embassy to basically change it to September, so we wanted to give it more time and changed it to late February, so I thought I was spending my birthday in Berlin (March 2nd), since our airline didn’t want to give us more time.
Couple of months later my friend said if we didn’t go to the show, he wasn’t going, but the airline didn’t want to change this, so he would lost the money. It was his idea to make a trip that was 18 days long including the flight time, so even though it didn’t made sense, that’s what he said.
Again, we had to change it, but my friend didn’t change his mind. I got vaccinated before him, had to go to a different city to get my second shot, all because I needed this trip. It was a dream I had since I was 9 years old, so I was doing it, alone if I had to. So I made it.
I left Mexico on October 5th this year, arrived to Paris the 6th in the evening, left to Berlin on th 7th until the 14th and came back to Mexico the 20th.
I met someone in Berlin who I had been texting with since 2020 and he’s very special to me, I hope that we can meet again, Berlin felt like home and became my favorite city in the world for sure.
If you wanna know what happened to my friend, well... he recently got his second shot, he asked for the reimbursement of the Rammstein tickets in Lyon and now he is going to Europe in August.
I’m happy for him, this was a great experience, my dream came true in 2021 and I wish more people can feel what I felt, I was the happiest person ever, and I want to go back.
For a 2022 in which I can go back, or at least start to plan to go.

When will we get the new live concert movie thingyyy? ;-; i cannot wait more. i need new content im starvingggg
Good question !
To tell the truth, they have a lot of content in store, concerning the timing of publication it is difficult to predict.
What we know :
• We know they're hitting the road again in 2023 in Europe (rumors say they're also planning a tour of America, TBC) ;
• We know that the band filmed their entire 2019 and 2022 tours, with 4 professionally filmed shows : Vienna (2019) and Mexico City (2022). So they have a lot of filmed images ;
• We know from Paul's own mouth that a new documentary in four parts about the band has been made ;
• We know they've released photobook for each of their tours, so there's no reason why that shouldn't be the case with the 2022 tour (especially with the large number of renowned photographers who participated in this last tour) ;
• We know that the group will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.
So the question is not whether we will have new content, but when ?
Well already we will cross our fingers so that the next live DVD comes out faster than the previous one. For "Rammstein : Paris", it took them five years...
Knowing a bit about the policy of the group on the images of their show, it is unlikely that the DVD will be released before the tour. So maybe at the end of the year with the photobook.
They will probably keep the documentary for the year of their 30th birthday, it would seem logical.
There are rumors (to be taken with a lot of caution) that the band will take a break after the 2023 tour. True or false, I don't know. But they will probably keep a lot of things for 2024. In addition, it is about Rammstein, we are not immune to big surprises !
Personally, I would like the photographers who have been following the band for a long time to publish their archives, such as Matthias Matthies, Olaf Heine, Frank Lothar Lange, etc. I would like the band to release a best of with unrealized songs, songs recorded during the production of the various albums but never published *kof kof* Ramm4 *kof kof* (According to Paul this song will appear in the documentary, so we might as well release an album with it).
In short, be patient, it happens !

Hiiiii, so is the tour over now? And do we know what they will be up to? Of course they need some time off, but will they work on more music videos or some other projects now? ^^
Hi 👋🏼
No, the 2022 tour is not over yet, there are still the 3 shows in Mexico City (which will be filmed, which is why there will be no M&G) 👀
What are the guys' plans ? Well, we already know that they will be going on tour again next year in Europe. The question is will they add dates in America ?
Till has a mini tour of 4 dates in November with his solo project. But not sure that it will take place since two of his musicians will be on other projects and that Flake mysteriously canceled his public readings for reasons of conflict of agenda with Rammstein it can therefore be assumed that Till will also be subject to this agenda. Rammstein coming first 😅
We know that Rammstein shot a video in Paris with Specter Berlin (the director of Deutschland) last May (Till was seen there). What is it about ? A music video ? It will be a surprise !
The guys have plenty of plans whether solo or with Rammstein. We haven't finished hearing about them ! Not to mention the fact that in less than two years they will celebrate their 30th birthday🔥
Update : Finally there will be M&G before the Mexico shows
