newlyweds 💕
this is Momoka and Carmen; Momoka is the newest heir of my rainbow legacy :) she’s working to become a master florist.
🌸 - Momoka uses she/her pronouns and is the pink heir of my rainbow legacy save, making her the 7th gen! (in case you're wondering, that's why I'm not starting on the red gen, I did that a while ago ;) however I might post some screencaps of previous gens just to get you caught up on the previous heirs.) She's a cat lover, unflirty, and a glutton, and has the freelance botanist aspiration. She has 13 a lot of likes, but they include cooking, gardening, singing, spop music, and photography. She dislikes baroque music and handiness.
Momo and her wife Carmen (she/her) have been together since high school. Since they were friends first, their relationship was built on a strong foundation :) but they both always secretly had a thing for each other.
They're both currently indifferent to the thought of having a baby. They know that if they want to have kids they should get a move on soon, but they're taking it slow and focusing on building up their lives right now. They've got the hefty task of not only supporting Momo's elderly moms but her two aunts as well. But summer in Willow Creek and their recent marriage have got the two closer than ever, and if a baby happened to land on their doorstep they wouldn't have any complaints :)

I love Behmi’s colors! Do you want to talk more about her?
Behmi honestly gets put in the background occassionally with the story I'm planning because of how deep the others' stories go in the Atlas Five, but I do love her and her design.
She's obviously Elm and Vine's daughter, and was actually a rainbow baby! Elm and Vine struggled to start a family that they wanted for a long time, and Behmi is actually the youngest child in the Atlas Five. Despite being the youngest, she is the one of two that managed to get into the next gen Ace Ops, along with Riley.
Winijay and Jack are just Huntsmen while Wren is neither and is a politician like Robyn.
Since she's based around trees like Elm, even taking the pink colour from the Behmi tree found in Tibet, her allusion is the Woodcutter and the Tree with Riley, her partner in the Ace Ops. Both of them struggle with feeling like they need to be generous and give more than they can in a misguided way of almost proving their existence, both with Behmi's natural caring nature pushing her to want to help and nuture her struggling friends, and Riley struggling with his fathers' legacy after the events of the RWBY sequel.
She inherited both Elm and Vine's type of Semblances. Her Semblance allows her to basically extend her Aura through her arms like branches, providing shielding from massive attacks, while being able to root herself to the ground.
Tumblr media
I also just love her design. She's so cuddly!

Rainbow Challenge - Pink
@samssims made the Rainbow Challenge with set colors for different dates. For Pink I took a picture of this beautiful Sim, that was the Beauty and the Beast gen of my Disney Princess CAS Legacy over on @myheartsstories. She was originally not pink, but I decided to use her for some gameplay and I randomised what color she had to be which was pink! In my gameplay she has a wonderful wife and two kids and she’s very happy with who she is (as shown through this outfit haha).

Nope, transgender women are not in any way erasing lesbian women, but here is why some may think so
Tumblr media
It is true that fewer of the women who are attracted to women identify as lesbian these days, but that does not mean that trans women are a threat to lesbian women.
Amy leaves the TERF cult
Pink News recently told the story about Amy, who once believed that the lesbian community to which she belonged was under attack from trans-rights activists:
Amy, who is based in Seattle, doesn’t believe those things any more. Looking back on her time in the “gender critical” feminist movement, she is unequivocal: it’s a cult.
A cult that groomed her when she was vulnerable and sleeping in her car; a cult that sought to control her, keeping tabs on her movements and dictating what she could and couldn’t say; a cult that was emotionally and sexually abusive towards her.
Last year, she began speaking out against what she saw as increasingly blatant homophobia in the gender-critical movement. The TERFs (”trans-exclusionary radical feminists”) tried to stop her, first with “love". One British lesbian even promised to find Amy a wife, so she could stay in the UK and help the TERF movement there.
Trans people displacing lesbians
Amy says she thinks a lot of lesbian, bi and gay people – and some trans people – are “on board” with the GC movement because they truly believe that trans people are displacing lesbians.
While it’s true that there has been an increase in the visibility of trans and non-binary people in the past decade, this doesn’t equate to trans people erasing lesbians, Amy says she recognises now.
“It’s emotional manipulation. They’re trying to pit gay and bi people against trans people, basically,” she says.
So they are. The objective fact is that transgender women are in no way threatening the existence of cis lesbians. If they opened their mind and their hearts the TERFs would see that they could get a lot of support from trans women, many of whom are lesbians themselves.
But it is true that fewer women identify as lesbian
However, given that fewer queer women call themselves lesbian, I can understand why some came up we the idea in the first place.  It was not because of the transgender movement, but because of the new and more flexible rainbow/continuum/spectrum approach to both sexuality and gender found in the LGBTQA community as a whole.
For some lesbians their hard fought for identity is linked to both binaries: The one based on sexuality and the one based on gender. The fluidity we find among Millennials and Gen Z’s scares them, because they believe it weakens the social and cultural basis for a pure lesbian subculture. The broader queer movement includes many shades of sexuality and gender.
Sara Prager, a lesbian activist, has written a very interesting article over at Xtra regarding this issue. She points out that for years now, women who love women have demographically been trending away from using “lesbian” in favor of identifying as queer, bisexual or some other label.
She writes:
When Lauren Strapagiel wrote about coming to terms with identifying as lesbian for Xtra in 2019, this idea was part of her hesitation: “The word conjured images of grey-haired women wearing Birkenstocks, using the spelling ‘womyn’ and attending vulva-worship workshops.”
It wasn’t a word she wanted to be associated with because she was “too cool” for it, being “young and enlightened and [knowing] that not all women have vaginas and that binaries are for breaking.”
There are other negative connotations associated with the term “lesbian,” as Strapagiel continues—like how anti-trans lesbians have pushed the completely false narrative that trans women can’t be lesbians or that they somehow threaten lesbian spaces.
As Strapagiel’s powerful piece concludes, the “threat” to lesbian identity is not bisexuality or trans people or any of our LGBTQ2 community, “it’s what it’s always been: Homophobia and heteronormativity.”
While TERFs (trans-exclusionary radical feminists) may cry “lesbian erasure” while pointing the finger at trans and non-binary people, the true risk of lesbian invisibility comes from the straight cis world.
Proud queer women’s media outlets DIVA Magazine, Curve, Autostraddle, Lesbians On The Loose (LOTL), Tagg Magazine, Lez Spread the Word, dapperQ, LezWatch.TV and GO Magazine stood up in 2018 to say that they “do not think supporting trans women erases our lesbian identities.”
So at the same time as women who are attracted to women abandon the term “lesbian” in favor of other and more open ended ones, lesbian and gay media outlets have also welcomed transgender men and women.
Don’t blame gender studies
Many TERFs see all of this as an effect of post-modern university “gender studies” or “gender ideology”, which is partly why they so easily end up in the same bed as reactionary Catholics, misogynistic Evangelicals and right wing fanatics. These groups all blame the “Marxists” for obliterating people’s belief in biology. (This is nonsense on so many levels, but we do not have time to go into this today.)
The real reason that we now have new generations of queer people standing up the binaries, is actually the success of the LGBTQA community as a whole – lesbians included – and not post-modern philosophy.
It was gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender activists who gave the younger LGBTQA people  room to think outside the narrow confines of Patriarchal rationality. It was they who made it possible for people to embrace who they truly are, and not give in to social pressure, trying to fit into the small boxes defined by those who came before them.
The TERFs are betraying this legacy. They have now joined the forces who are trying to stop queer people for exploring their own identity and destiny. The TERFs have become a threat not only to transgender women, but to everyone under the LGBTQA umbrella, lesbians included.
The L and the T
Laruel Strapagiel put it this way, referring to the TERFs:
They’re assholes, is what they are. But we can’t afford to ignore them. They’re finding friends in right-wing media and gaining mainstream mentions at an alarming rate, especially in the UK. It’s the job of cis lesbians, like me, to push back if we want to stop them from warping “lesbian” into an identity grounded in bigotry....
Frankly, these things weren’t on my baby dyke brain back when I was reciting my “I am a lesbian” mantra. These tensions are ones I’ve learned as I’ve grown in the community; and they have, at times, made me question my own identity.
Did I want to associate myself with trans-exclusionary “feminists”? Would I forever have to explain to dates that, no, I don’t have a problem being with a woman who also dates men? Perhaps “queer” is enough for me? And just as I’m never going to let TERFs gatekeep lesbianism, I’m not going to let them scare me away from it, either.
I’m stubborn. I worked for “lesbian,” and I’m keeping it. And I want others to feel that, if they choose to, they can keep it too.
She is right. She has every right to identify as a lesbian, stick to the term and fight for the rights of women who think of themselves as lesbians. But doing so is not in any way the opposite of fighting for the LGBTQA community as a whole. It is truly tragic that we have to stress this now, but the L is an essential part of LGBTQA, as is the G and the B and the T...

The Rainbow Vibes Legacy
Challenge Summary: This is a challenge that can very easily be compared to any legacy challenge from the Sims. This is a challenge where you will start by creating a single sim. This sim will have kids. You will choose one of the children to be the focus and heir to the next generation. You will play this family for 10 generations. Since this is a Rainbow Legacy each generation will be represented by a color and will each have their own set of rules and goals to accomplish.
Challenge Rules:
Each generation heir will represent the color of their generation through as many ways as you can such as clothes and home decor.
-Any spouse/partner of your generational heir must be made to reflect the color of that generation heir as well if added to the household (The person the Pink heir marries should also reflect the color pink).
All children of your heir should reflect the color for the next generation. (All the children of the Pink generation should represent the color red).
When the first child child of a generation reaches the Young Adult state you are required to decide which child will be the heir of the next generation no matter the age of the children younger than the oldest. (If the oldest child becomes a YA and the youngest is a toddler you can still choose the toddler as the next heir).
Once the heir reaches Young Adulthood their Generation part of the challenge begins!
Once a new Generation color starts you must move to a new home. The former heir and heir’s spouse/partner (if living) is required to move with you. (If there are younger siblings then they are required to move with you as well but can be moved out once they reach the YA state). Every home you live in is required to be built by you. Each move should be a world different than the one that was lived in the generation before. However you can repeat worlds of non-consecutive generations (Gen Orange can live in the same world Pink lived in).
Before moving you must spin a wheel to determine how many simolians the next gen will start with. You can use any wheel spinning app or website (such as https://wheelofnames.com/) to spin a wheel to find out if you will keep all funds currently in the household, half the funds, a quarter of the funds, or an eighth of the funds. Once you have spun the wheel you will set your money to the value selected by the wheel and use the money cheat to set your household funds to that amount.
Lifespans are required to be kept normal and you can only age up a sim when it is their birthday.
No cheats other than bb.moveobjects (and the money cheat when specified to do so) are allowed to be used.
You must accomplish AT LEAST one whim your heir sim has EVERYDAY.
Lastly you are required to have a display or area (can be in your home or on another lot) that shows all the heirs (can be pictures, paintings, or anything that represents them for you) and different “artifacts” from each generation.
Generation 1: White “Perfection”
Summary: You are the founder to this vibrant legacy and all you want is the perfect happy family and life. However that isn’t very so easy to accomplish. You are also going to have you’re very own shop. In this shop you will sell only things that you produce or find yourself! This can be paintings, photography, food, etc.
Generation Rules:
Traits: Perfectionist, Family-Oriented, and Proper
Complete the Super Parent aspiration
Must open your own shop. You can, but don’t have to, live in the shop (But remember babies will stay at the home lot until they are toddlers).
Must have at least 5 children.
Required to Master the parenting skill
Master 2 other skills of your choice excluding the parenting skill. (These skills can be used to make sellable items for the shop)
Have at least 5 children (adoption is okay but you must adopt a toddler).
Keep all children at an A level in school. If a child ever gets lower then they are required to stay at home except for going to school and at school they must always “Work Hard”
You can’t be disliked by any Sims.
When the next heir has been decided you must retire and sell your shop. (Before you spin the wheel to decide the next generation’s starting funds)
Generation 2: Pink “Vanity”
Summary: You grew up with a parent who was absolutely PERFECT and they pushed you to be the same.....and you know what? You are perfect! You are an absolute one of a kind. There is no one else like you and you make sure everyone else knows it! You are a star and it’s your time to shine! You will become a world famous celebrity and the best actor/actress the world has ever known! But will the fame change you?
Generation Rules:
Traits: Self-Absorbed, Ambitious, and Hot-Headed
Reach level 10 in the acting career
Complete Master Actor/Actress aspiration
Master the acting, singing, and charisma skill
Each time you gain a celebrity star level you must ruin a relationship with a family member (such as siblings) to at least the level of disliked.
You can fix the your relationships once you retire from acting.
You are only allowed to marry and have children with people you meet through the acting career (Co-stars, directors, etc.)
You must go to every award show until you retire. If you go and don’t win an award you must insult/fight someone who did while at the location
No child limit
Generation 3: Red “Passion”
Summary: Growing up surrounded by the worlds most elite you’ve seen their true side. Sims just seem to glorify the rich and famous when in reality they are the worst of the worst. Why do they all have such horrible judgement? That’s okay you’ll get the power needed to balance things the way YOU see fit!
Generation Rules:
Traits: Paranoid, Mean, and Noncommittal
Master the logic, charisma, and research and debate skill.
Attend University and earn a degree that is related to law
While at university join the debate team and the secret society
Reach level 10 in the law career (Judge branch)
Never get married
Have at least 3 children with 3 different parents (all children must move in after they are born)
Generation 4: Orange “Compassion”
Summary: You grew up with a parent that could be easily described as intense. Though they loved you in their own way you choose to show your love to all. Especially the little fuzzy ones!

Marry a client from your vet clinic
Have 3 pets

You cannot gain a spouse or child until you have completed at least 2 collections.
Have a museum room in your home that is for displaying your collections

No child limit
Generation 6: Neon “Party”
Summary: Life is too short not to party! You just want to kickback and have a good time. What’s the big deal? You might not be as “established” as those who came before you, BUT you do know that none of them had as much fun as you either!
Generation Rules:
Traits: Bro, Lazy, and Dance Machine
Complete the Party Animal aspiration
Master the dancing, mixology, piano, guitar, and dj skill
Throw at least one party or go to at least one dance club every 7 sim days until the next generation heir is determined
You can only work part time jobs
Have at least 3 failed relationships
Must meet future spouse for the first time at a dance club or a party
Have only 1 child

The Sims 4 - Rainbow Generations Challenge
The Sims 4 Rainbow Generations Challenge
The Sims 4 - Rainbow Generations Challenge, is a 10 Gen. Legacy Challenge inspired by the Not So Berry Challenge! I’ve included Base-Game Alternatives for any packs, in case you do not have all the packs required <3
*Vampires is required for Gens 9 & 10*
*Custom Content/Mods are allowed, but only to enhance gameplay, and not to effect it*
*Cheats are not allowed per the rules, but obviously it’s your challenge, play how you like*
*You must age sims up on their birthday, not before, or let them age up automatically*
Generation 1: Red
You’re kind of a devil, hence your favorite color. But also, you love being funny, despite what everyone thinks of you. Your dream is to become a comedian, but will you make it whilst everyone around you hates you?

Career: Entertainer - Comedian Branch
Goals for Generation
-Master the Entertainer - Comedian Branch Career
-Master the Comedy Skill
-Master the Mischief Skill

-Marry the first sim you ever date, and stay together, for the kids
-Have triplets, and ONLY triplets (yes, you can cheat for this)
Generation 3: Yellow

Generation 4: Green
You grew up rich, thanks to your parents. You were always known in class, you always had people asking to be friends, so you built up walls. This didn’t stop you from wanting to be famous, though. You always wanted to be an actor, so you took your shot to make it big.

Generation 5: Blue
Despite growing up rich and famous, you always hated the attention. All you wanted was to be smart - go to university, get a solid career, be what you would consider the “average sim.” Your parents don’t like that, however, you should be famous, like them. Will your relationship with your family drop when you decide to pursue your own dreams? Will they come around?
Aspiration: Nerd Brain
Traits: Genius, Bookworm, Loner
Career: University (If you do not have University, skip this), Business
Goals for Generation

-Go to University and successfully graduate as soon as you become a Young Adult, and do not have any serious job while attending
-Master the Business Career
Generation 6: Purple
As a child, you were raised “right,” as you would say. You loved being surrounded by family, and being taught good manners as a child. When you grew up, you became obsessed with animals. Dogs, cats, you love ‘em all! You wanted to become a home-shelter for all the animals in need, so you did!
Aspiration: Friend of the Animals (Base Game Alternative is Super Parent)

-Have at least 2 kids in your lifetime
Generation 7: Pink
You grew up surrounded by pets, and just wanted to be surrounded by other sims. You become a “player” and love to date around. Is that a good thing? Well...

Traits: Romantic, Materialistic, Good
Career: Painter
Goals for Generation
-Master the Serial Romantic Aspiration
-Master the Charisma Skill
-Have at least three romantic relationships before reaching adulthood
-Leave at least one sim at the altar
Generation 8: Brown
While your parents were off, hanging about, doin their own thing, you became insanely obsessed with space. You saw the sims being launched into space every year, and you wanted that. You sometimes question if you’re “too odd” for wanting to go into space, but you always go back to your passion.
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Traits: Good, Neat, Hot-Headed
Career: Astronaut
Goals for Generation
-Master the Friend of the World Aspiration
-Master the Astronaut Career
-Master the Charisma Skill
Generation 9: White
For some odd reason, you become insanely obsessed with so-called “occult sims.” You’re not quite sure what they are, but they intrigue you! Something about Vampires, Aliens, they just are something you don’t understand, but want to.
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
Traits: Genius, Bookwork, Creative
Career: Scientist (Base Game Alternative is Business)

Aspiration: Master Vampire
Traits: Evil, Mean, Noncommittal
Career: Criminal
Goals for Generation
  -Master the Master Vampire Aspiration
-Master the Criminal Career
-Master the Mischief Skill
And that concludes the challenge! If you completed all the goals for each generation, and got through all of the generations, then you have won the challenge! I hope you enjoyed playing through this challenge, because I had so much fun making it!

Not So Berry Legacy Challenge In Rainbow Order
Do you like the rainbow? Do you like the idea of playing with berry Sims but hate berry Sims? Do you want to mess around with aspects of the game you’ve never used before? Boy, do I have the challenge for you!
Welcome to the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge, a ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colors and new experiences.
Basic Rules: 1. Each heir must represent the color of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). Of course, this is optional but a big portion of the fun. 2. The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them. 3. Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward. 4. You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation. 5. Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise. 6. Keep the lifespan on normal.
Generation One: Rose
You had everything you desired as a child but you were always longing for more. As an adult you have a hard time committing to relationships as you’re so focused on your career. If we had a workaholic trait in The Sims 4 you would have it. You have absolutely no parental instincts whatsoever but you still love your child with all your heart.
Traits: Hot Headed, Snob, Romantic Aspiration: Serial Romantic Career: Politician
Rules: - Have only one child - Master the politician career - Complete the Serial Romantic aspiration - Master charisma skill - Leave someone at the alter (an interaction available during a wedding) - Get married for the first time as an elder
Generation Two: Orange You’re the black sheep of your family (but with orange hair) and you were raised in a hectic household. You’ve always wanted to cause mayhem, but you’re just really bad at being evil. You enjoy breaking into your neighbor’s houses and eating their food. You really love baking and spend the majority of your spare time eating sweets. Traits: Evil, Self Assured, Glutton Aspiration: Public Enemy Career: Criminal Rules: - Master baking and charisma skills - Master the criminal career - Complete the Public Enemy aspiration - Must live in a needs TLC apartment for entire young adult life - Have twins, but only those two children (you may cheat for this) - Insist on being evil (claim to be criminal mastermind) but nobody believes you, not even your own children
Generation Three: Peach You share the same passion for food as your parent does. You’ve always wanted to be a detective, you’ve always wanted to be a comedian. Well dang it, you can do both! Detective by day, comedian by night, you can do anything you set your mind to.
Traits: Foodie, Lazy, Goofball Aspiration: Joke Star Career: Detective
Rules: - Marry a co-worker - Must play an instrument - Master gourmet cooking and comedy skills - Master detective career - Complete Joke Star aspiration - Must live in a different world than they were raised in
Generation Four: Yellow Growing up you’ve been surrounded by a casual setting, but you’ve always wanted to live a life full of adventure. You spent the majority of your time alone in your room obsessing over space. You just really love space. You’ll do whatever it takes to get to Sixam no matter the cost.
Traits: Clumsy, Ambitious, Loner Aspiration: Nerd Brain Career: Astronaut
Rules: - Master rocket science and handiness skills - Master astronaut career - Must build a rocket ship and visit Sixam - Enter the secret lot in Oasis Springs (requires max handiness skill) - Never have any close friends or relationships other than grandparent until grandparent dies
Generation Five: Green
You were caught hacking by a major tech company that then offered you a position in their firm. You know Penelope Garcia from Criminal Minds? That’s you. You’re dedicated to your work, but that doesn’t stop you from going out and having a good time. You’re the kind of person that will be at a party at 3 AM and then at work at 6 AM.
Traits: Squeamish, Geek, Cheerful Aspiration: Computer Whiz Career: Tech Guru
Rules:
- Master mixology, video gaming, and programming skills - Master tech guru career - Complete Computer Whiz aspiration - Must accept every invitation to parties/outings with your friends - Have at least five good friends and five enemies
Generation Six: Mint
You’re a mischievous scientist that really loves the color mint. You’re career driven but still make time for silly pranks and outings with your closest friends. You love luxury and want the best for yourself and your family.
Traits: Vegetarian, Jealous, Materialistic Aspiration: Chief Of Mischief Career: Scientist
Rules:
- Master scientist career - Complete Chief Of Mischief aspiration - Master mischief and logic skills - Complete elements collection
Generation Seven: Blue You have the perfect life. White picket fence, loving spouse, beautiful children. But why do you still want more? You have a one time secret affair and will regret it for the rest of your life. Afterward you pour your soul into raising your children and fixing your marriage. You never admit the affair to anyone and dedicate your life to being the perfect parent.
Traits: Gloomy, Perfectionist, Family Oriented Aspiration: Super Parent Career: Critic Rules: - Adopt at least one child - Master the photography, painting and parenting skills - Master critic career and complete Super Parent aspiration - Must marry high school sweetheart and stay with them until you die - Have a one time secret affair
Generation Eight: Plum
You’ve always been good at everything you tried. It’s hard to choose a career, so why not try a few? You work as a doctor for much of your life, but as an adult you realise that your true dream is to become a professional dancer. You quit your job and join the entertainer career. Basically: you’re an indecisive oddball.
Traits: Genius, Noncommittal, Dance Machine Aspiration: Renaissance Sim Career: Doctor, Entertainer
Rules:
- Master dance skill and two other of your choosing - Achieve at least level eight in six skills - Complete Renaissance Sim aspiration - Get divorced and then later remarried to the same sim - Must live in at least three different worlds over the course of your life
Generation Nine: Pink
You grew up moving all the time and couldn’t keep a stable job other than the business career. You long to write romance novels but are too afraid to quit your steady job to follow your dreams. You’re very practical and you know the chances of making it as a writer are slim, so you stay working at your nine to five. As an adult you finally decide to pursue your dreams. You’re a hopeless romantic, but your unflirty nature makes it nearly impossible to find love.
Traits: Neat, Unflirty, Creative Aspiration: Best Selling Author Career: Business, Freelance Writer
Rules: - Complete postcard collection - Master writing and wellness skills - Complete Best Selling Author aspiration - Have a well maintained flower garden - Quit business career as an adult to pursue dreams
Generation Ten: Grey
You always felt that you were different. While the rest of your family was busy writing, you just wanted to be outside playing basketball or football. You’re very good at sports and you dream of becoming a professional athlete. To make up for your nonexistent relationship with your parents you want to be there for your own children as much as possible. Oh, and you love to sing.
Traits: Active, Slob, Music Lover Aspiration: Bodybuilder Career: Athlete
Rules:
- Master singing, parenting and athletic skills - Master athlete career and complete Bodybuilder aspiration - Have three failed relationships before finding spouse, marry a neat sim - Be good friends with all of your children - Have a family movie night with your spouse and your children every Sunday
I wanted to fiddle with this challenge to shape it to my liking and I ended up switching the order of the gens! I love for things to be organized so I decided to put the gens in rainbow order and it actually fits very well!
This challenge was originally made by the almighty @lilsimsie and @alwaysimming so go check them out!! Follow me on other socials if you want to:

Sims 4 Awesimsauce
Some of you may remember the Awesimsauce challenge. It originated with the sims 2. I believe @katwhispurrer and @engramplays were some of the origininators.
The Sims 3 version was adapted by me. So it felt like maybe I should adapt the sims 4 version as well. Huge thanks to Kasia and @gerbits
Here is the working model right now. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
Basic Rules
Standard legacy rules apply.
Like the original legacy, no cheats are allowed.
Limit of 2 children per generation. No trying to force twins or triplets.
Your heir must have a wedding party.
Sim’s last name must be related to the rainbow/color in some way (it can be as random and obscure as you would like).
Sim’s first name must be somehow related to the color assigned to that generation.
Each generation is based on a different color and the color must be present and obvious in some way (make-up, dress, hair color, house décor, etc.)
Each generation has a specific challenge(s) based on the color of that generation. When playing that generation please make sure you meet all parts of the challenge (when possible)!
Generation Challenges
Generation One
Color: Blue
Challenge: Depth and Stability
What is a building without a good foundation? Generation One is tasked with building a lasting foundation for all future generations. Specifically a house (with or without a foundation).
This generation HAS to have one of the traditional jobs. This can be an active job like doctor or scientist (Get To Work) but can not be Freelancer or Part Time! I’m also going to say no to vlogging. If you want your sim to be a musician they must follow the Entertainer career track.
By the time this generation hits elder they should have a ‘complete’ house. This means at least 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen (a large eat in kitchen is also fine).
For an added challenge why not tack on the Renovation Challenge by @simbeeps (might need to modify it slightly because of the job, but still fun!).
Also your founder must have either a family oriented or wealth oriented lifetime goal (to start, once they complete it, go do you).
Generation Two
Color: Orange
Challenge: Creativity
Orange is a bright and happy color. It is full of energy and can even convince the laziest person to get off their butt. It is even known to incite creativeness in even the most “un-creative people”. Thus for the orange generation it is all about creativity.
Money may only be made by novels/painting/music/woodworking or by the freelance career
This time they CAN be a vlogger if you want.
Must be at level 10 for one instrument. DJ can count towards this as well.
If you’re into it this would be a cool generation to open a gallery/restaurant.
Generation Three
Color: Charcoal
Challenge: Activity
Charcoal is the color of strength! This generation your sim wants to get SWOLE. Let’s hit the mats or something sporty like that.
OPTION 1: (Base Game Compatible)
To make money you have a choice between Athlete, Secret Agent, or Astronaut career path.
Your heir must have level 10 fitness skill. Also a level 10 wellness skill (spa day required).
Your heir must complete the body builder lifetime goal.
OPTION 2: (Strangerville Required.)
If you’re not into the whole athlete thing complete the Strangerville storyline! Saving a city is a def show of strength!
Or if you’re not civically inclined, pursue the Military career (don’t need to live in Strangerville but if you do, you could solve the mystery AND complete the Military career for double the fun!)
Generation 4
Color: Green
Challenge: Money, Money, Money
Green is the color of money, and this generation your sims are all about those sweet simoleons. It’s time to make sure this family has cash in the bank! It is in honor of the founder that we work hard (or hardly work? If you’re making bank, who cares!)
Reach Top of 2 Career Tracks. Business, Criminal or Tech are some really good themed options!
Must have ‘materialistic’ trait.
Klepto and Snob traits are also fun options.
Must have at least 100k in the bank by the time they reach elder.
For this I’m going to say it’s on top of what you already have. So when they become YA if they’ve got 60k in the bank then they need 160k when they become elder. This is 100k of their own making.
Definitely must complete one of the wealth aspirations now if you didn’t in gen 1.
Must also own another lot. It could be a business from previous gens, or you could just build and buy a park. I don’t care, man, just DIVERSIFY.
Generation Five
Color: Purple
Challenge: Royalty
In many cultures purple represents a position of royalty. In this generation your sims will be treated like royalty and have their needs met as though they were a king or queen. The dark days are over, now it’s time to sit back and enjoy life.
Good thing the previous gen worked so hard, because this generation can NOT make any money themselves.
Must fulfill at least one whim per day for each sim
Heir must not be forced to do any “chores” (washing, taking out the trash, scrubbing toilets). Those activities are meant for lesser sims.
If you have Parenthood Stuff, try and get your sim to have some negative personality traits like low self control.
Royal Sim parents only do the fun stuff with their children! I’m going to allow for toddler traits since most are done as play. I’ll leave potty training up to you. No learning boring things like saying please and thank you though!
Purple sims only play with their kids. If you want the next gen to learn to be they’ll have to do it on their own or from some other family members.
Must have a butler and nanny.
Generation Six
Color: Brown
Challenge: Down to Earth
Disgusted with the ways of the previous generation you have decided to return to the earth! This generation is looking for a simpler way of life that doesn’t come with all the opulence and waste of the previous generations.
OPTION 1: BGC
Only make money from harvest/dug up/foraged/fished items. You can sell them from inventory or set up a stall at the market.
If you have seasons you can also make money from Flower Arranging.
Must have full gardening skill as well as herbalism (outdoor retreat required)
Must complete one of the nature aspirations.
Must grow at least 1 of every kind of plant. This includes plants from other worlds depending on the EPs you have.
Gotta have that ‘Loves The Outdoors’ trait!
OPTION 2: Sulani (Island Living required)
Join the conservationist career track.
Still have to have the ‘loves the outdoors’ trait.
Clean up Sulani! That means get the island to level 3.
Generation Seven
Color: Yellow
Challenge: The Pursuit of Hope
Yellow can symbolize hope. What better way to represent that than the hope of setting out learning everything you can in the world. This generation is concentrated on their intellect.
Pick one of those knowledge based aspirations!
Yellow generation is all about helping others, so make sure they are reading to their kids, helping with homework and school projects.
It could be fun if this was the first generation to attend college, but that’s really up to you!
Must hit level 10 in logic, handiness, programming, and rocket science.
Also Archaeology if you have Jungle Adventure
Parenting if you have Parenthood
If you have Jungle Adventure and your heir fancies themselves as an Indiana Jones type of scholar why not complete the temple.
If you’re going this route make sure to get ALL the relics.
What use is being smart if you can’t show off? Build a seperate room in your home to act as a library. Display items you got from adventuring or just a lot of books.
Generation Eight
Color: Red
Challenge: Fiery Passion
It is no secret that red is the color of passion, of love and of explosive things. Those who love red are often extremely ambitious, but slightly reckless. This generation is all about living with heat and flying by the seat of your pants!
Must have either the Hot Headed or Jealous trait.
Siblings shouldn’t get along, big personalities often clash.
Must use either the rude or flirty introductions when meeting new people.
5 Lovers simultaneous lovers (Who don’t know about each other)
Must Woohoo in each kind of public location
At least one enemy! (or ten!)
Any money making path is available for this gen, things like secret agent, criminal, or law could be fun and on theme but aren’t required.
Generation Nine
Color: Pink
Challenge: The Glamour Life!
Only the most glamorous sims can wear pink! This generation is all about living the high life. If you’re the most glamorous sim in town then everyone should know your name.
Top Celebrity Status (Get Famous required)
Reach the top of the Entertainer or Fashion Stylist career (base game)
Acting (Get Famous)
Fashion photographer (Moschino)
Glamorous sims are the height of fashion! The heir will change outfits every other day.
This is generation nine, by now you should be living in the biggest house in town. Make sure you’ve got your mansion going!
Generation Ten
Color: White
Challenge: A Return to the Basics
It’s been ten generations since you started and now it’s time to return. Return to tradition and building a foundation for the next set of sims. Go back at complete generation 1’s challenges all over. You earned it.
NOTES:
These rules were adapted from the Sims 3 rules written by me which were adapted from the Sims 2 rules.
Credit to Engram and Gerbits
This is your game, if you don’t like some parts of a generation don’t do it. The legacy police aren’t going to come after you.
Want an extra challenge? Why not toss one of these for a sim week to spice things up.
IF you have any questions shoot me an ask and I’ll do my best to answer it
If you decide to do this please tag with awesimsauce so I can see it!

Tomorrow I’m going to Italy for a week, so I quickly wanted to talk about some things and reply to your comments from the past month. This is my last chance before we go. I might have wifi (I had it the past two times we went to this place) but still, I don’t think I’ll be around too much. I’ll catch up later. Simblr, promise you won’t start any drama when I’m not here, thank you. I’ll be back on 30th July, I think. I’m not sure when exactly we’ll be home.
I haven’t started the BC yet, but I’ll work on it when I get home. I’ve often seen people say they played through their BCs quickly, so hopefully that’ll be my case too. I don’t want you to wait too long! (And yes, I also really want to know who wins. Obviously.)
You might have noticed that my queue is a little longer now. I’m posting 9 posts a day and it’ll stay like this at least until BPR ends, I think. Speaking of which, all of BPR gen 1 is queued/drafted (and ready to be queued)! It’ll last for the next two months or so and then, as I promised, NSB is back. I honestly can’t wait for these guys to come back.
Also, I finally finished reading Kingdom of Ash yesterday and ooh boy. It was good. However, looking back to when I read the first book of the series, I had no idea I would be signing up for this. Throne of Glass, man...simpler times :D
dandylion240 replied to your post “I have a spot for any sim with the name of Caleb. Love gen 4 Caleb and...”
Oh that's a cool idea. I could see them being best friends!
Exactly! I’m dying to get Strangerville to see their friendship in action. I almost bought it when it was on sale in June (?), but I couldn’t. I was so close though D:
alfalfalegacy replied to your photoset “Alright, good morning everyone! This is where it’ll all take place....”
Loving this look for her!! It's kinda weird after being used to her with blue hair but I like it!!
Honestly I’ve wanted to do this for a long time but this always stopped me. I always knew how weird it would be because I’m not used to it, but then I just decided to go for it and suffer for a bit lol. Worth it!
desira-sims replied to your photoset “felt cute, might burn down your house later, idk ‍♀️...”
This is too cute!
She is an adorable sim *-*
starburstshores replied to your post “Ahh, now that I can, I don’t feel like creating the replies post at...”
I started my simblr in university but ofc it depends
mintsweettea replied to your post “Ahh, now that I can, I don’t feel like creating the replies post at...”
If it makes you feel any better, I didn't start playing Sims (on pc, I used to play the original GameCube one) until I was away at college so there's that
I believe that I will have some time to play sims. Maybe not as much as I had in high school, but there’ll be something. I’m just not sure what I want to do with this free time. If I really want to spend it all by playing sims, ya know? I want to finally have some real life when I’m in uni. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game, I love this community, but it’s not everything. I’m tired of being lonely irl.
xiapxls replied to your post “Re: how to get people to play ask games. Well, it would be helpful if...”
yeah it does i feel like a solid 2/3 of the asks i send just... disappear somewhere and never actually get delivered. it makes talking to people on this site pretty difficult :(
That’s weird...
Guys, if you ever send an ask and I don’t respond, chances are I couldn’t even see it because tumblr ate it. I try to answer everything I get. Feel free to send it again.
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “I have some tasks I need to work on…oooh, this ten seasons long TV...”
Hello, me
Me two
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “Put some clothes on, you fool. “Nah.”
What's the deal with him?
He’s too sexy for his clothes...wait, that was a song, wasn’t it? Don’t actually answer, I don’t want it to get stuck in my head :D
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “Why would we watch the stars when the sky is so cloudy tonight? Oh…I...”
Gwyneth is a cutie❤️
She is! I can’t get enough of her face ;-;
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “Take that as a yes, Eden.”
I'd be happy for them but this generation and spoilers about the pink kids make me rather suspicious
I can promise that we haven’t seen the last of Eden...but whether things will be good between them or not, I won’t reveal just yet.
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “Geez…just thinking about ruined waffles is making me physically sick....”
Are that the waffles though?
It’s never really the waffles
sparkiemonkey replied to your post “Sooo...”
I've killed a few, nearly killed the whole set of an edit I'm working on. I forgot it was summer and had everyone in warmer clothing.
Oh my god, that makes me feel a little better about myself. That hasn’t happened to me...yet.
dandylion240 replied to your photoset “My kind lost their rainbow skin colours a long time ago. You could say...”
Favorite moment? It had to be when Ross and Caleb finally got together!!!
Ahh, I remember when I played through that! I don’t think I was going to get them together at that point, but then they were sitting there and I just thought “screw it, just kiss already”.
cloudberry-sims replied to your photoset “Roxanne Clare artistic | absent-minded”
Adorable!
tiny-tany-thaanos replied to your photoset “Roxanne Clare artistic | absent-minded”
Cute! ❤️
This legacy was blessed with adorable toddlers, just wait for it.
fogbrookcrossing replied to your photoset “Roxanne: “Food!” Gwyneth: “There you go, Roxy! Sorry it took me a...”
Roxy is so polite.
I mean...she’s not wrong.
froggypixel replied to your photoset “Be free, my child!”
Funny thing about this is that she’s literally headed down hill
That’s the best thing about it!

Not So Berry Challenge (TS3)
So you might have heard of this little thing called the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4. This a conversion of those rules for The Sims 3! You can read the original rules to the challenge here.
Basic Rules:
Each heir must represent the color of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). This is optional, but it is a big portion of the fun.
The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them.
Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Keep the lifespan on normal.
If you play this challenge and want to share it, go ahead and post with #notsoberry so we can see!
My good friend @alwaysimming and I created the original version of this challenge for The Sims 4. We wanted to make something that forced us to play with parts of the game we’ve never explored before. I tried to capture that same goal for The Sims 3. All of the generations follow the same theme as they do in TS4, but with a few slight differences to fit the limitations of this game.
Generation One: Mint
You’re a mischievous scientist that really loves the color mint. You’re career driven but still make time for silly pranks and outings with your closest friends. You love luxury and want the best for yourself and your family.
Traits: Vegetarian, Green Thumb, Lucky, Eco-Friendly, Angler Aspiration: Become a Creature-Robot Cross Breeder Career: Scientist
Rules:
Master gardening, fishing, and handiness skills
Master scientist career and complete the Creature-Robot Cross Breeder aspiration
Have three good friends
Generation Two: Rose
You had everything you desired as a child but you were always longing for more. As an adult you have a hard time committing to relationships as you’re so focused on your career. You have absolutely no maternal/paternal instincts whatsoever but you still love your child with all your heart.

Have only one child
Master the political career and complete Master Romancer aspiration
Master charisma skill

Generation Three: Yellow
Growing up you never had a close relationship with your parent and spent the majority of your time alone in your room obsessing over space. You just really love space. You’ll do whatever it takes to get to space no matter the cost.
Traits: Ambitious, Brave, Can’t Stand Art, Handy, Insane Aspiration: Become an Astronaut Career: Military
Rules
Master athletic and handiness skills
Master military career and complete Become an Astronaut aspiration
Be raised mostly by Gen 1 grandparent as parent is never around

Generation Four: Grey
You always felt that you were different. While the rest of your family constantly had their noses in books, you just wanted to be outside playing basketball. You’re very good at sports and you dream of becoming a professional athlete. Because of your own nonexistent relationship with your parents you want to be there for your own children as much as possible. Oh, and you love to paint.

Generation Five: Plum
You’ve always been good at anything you tried. It’s hard to choose a career, so why not try a few? You work as a doctor for much of your life, but as an adult realize that your true dream is to become a professional musician. You quit your job and join the music career. Basically: you’re an indecisive oddball.

You enjoy breaking into your neighbors’ houses and eating their food. You really love baking and spend the majority of your spare time eating sweets.

Insist on being evil but nobody believes you, not even your own children
Generation Seven: Pink
You grew up poor and are living paycheck to paycheck just as your parents did. You long to write romance novels but are too afraid to quit your steady job to follow your dreams. You’re very practical and you know the chances of making it as a writer are slim, so you stay working at your nine to five. As an adult you finally decide to pursue your dreams. TS4 Berry Sweet - Pastel Rainbowcy Challenge
Have you ever wanted to play with Berry Sweet Sims? Perhaps a rainbowcy, but felt like there wasn’t much direction? Well then this is for you! Follow a pastel rainbow through 9 generations in this colorful challenge!
Find The Sims 3 Version Here!
This is my first time creating a challenge with actual rules, so go easy on me XD You’ll find it’s a very family oriented challenge. Loosely based on my own It works best on normal life span but if taking more of a storytelling route, you may wish to extend to long. You can skip baby stage if so desired. Babies... am I right?
This is a Sims 4 challenge but a Sims 3 version will release eventually, so stay tuned!
Berry Sweet Sims are designed after tasty treats or snacks, but you can also use names from any Color Finder / Color Wheel. Since this is also a rainbowcy. I suggest using a sweet name as your legacy surname and then you can use what ever first name you like.
You can roll for genetics with dice roller: 1-3 Parent One Genetics  4-6 Parent Two Genetics.
https://www.random.org/dice/
Q: How does the dice roller work?
A: Hi it’s just something you can do if you want more realistic genetics. The Sims 4 genetics are really wonky and you can easily have a baby born with blue hair and yellow skin when your parent Sims are pink and peach…So if you use the dice roller. Say 1-3 on the dice would be your pink Sim’s genetics and 4-6 would be your peach Sim’s genetics. You would roll tree times to determine the child’s hair, eye and skin tone.
Below the Mates are referred to by color THIS DOES NOT NEED TO BE THEIR NAME
You will want to roll for:
Hair Eyes Skin  (Optional if you prefer to play  Banilla*)
*Banilla = Berry Hair / Eyes + Natural Skin Tone
You will need CC Hair, Eyes and or Skin I suggest @noodlescc
You can edit your Sims genetics by using the cheat cas.fulleditmode
If you have trouble keeping colorful hair on your toddlers and children follow this simple guide! If you have questions please ask!
If you want to give this challenge a try please at me @berrysweetboutique and use the tag #BerryPastelRainbowcy I would love to see how you interpret this challenge. I have a blog just sitting around collecting dust, so I’ve re-purposed it to showcase your posts!

Millennial Pink, Gen-Z Yellow and the Truth About Color Clickbait
http://fashion-trendin.com/millennial-pink-gen-z-yellow-and-the-truth-about-color-clickbait/
Millennial Pink, Gen-Z Yellow and the Truth About Color Clickbait
On December 31, 2017, I plugged my Instagram handle into a slightly sketchy online algorithm that promised to spit out a neat little grid of my top nine Instagram posts of the year. When I surveyed the results — a small square composite of even smaller squares, each encapsulating a brief snapshot from the past 365 days of my life — I couldn’t help but laugh at its totally incidental and yet glaringly predominant color scheme: millennial pink.
According to a retrospective published in New York Magazine, the term “millennial pink” was coined during the summer of 2016, when Véronique Hyland penned a story for The Cut originally titled, “Is There Some Reason Millennial Women Love This Color?” At the time, no one could have predicted that term would rise to the top of our cultural lexicon and remain there for years, but the pervading aesthetic of my most-liked Instagram posts hints at why it did.
25 PHOTOS click for more
In a world where social media and the internet fuel an unprecedented hunger for newness, which then contributes to an exhaustingly short life cycle for almost all trends (they become saturated to the point of feeling stale and are thus promptly traded in for the next thrill), millennial pink has maintained its power by virtue of the fact that it continues to deliver tangible results. Sometimes, those results are sales (“Make something pink and make money,” The Washington Post wrote in a piece about millennial pink foods). In other instances, the outcome is social media cachet: “Posts with a pink thing in them perform better,” Sight Unseen co-founder Monica Khemsurov told The Cut. “A normal post might get 1,500 likes, and the pink ones get 4,000, so it’s hard to break out of the cycle, because that’s what people want. It’s hard for us to say pink is over, because our readers and followers still love pink.”
The desire to proclaim “pink is over” has been shouted many times over. In June 2017, The Guardian declared millennial pink had peaked and would soon be displaced. A couple months later, Haley wrote a story on Man Repeller predicting what that displacer would be: “If I squint and scroll through my feeds, it’s still a rose-colored blur,” she wrote, “but when I slow down and take a closer look, flashes of something else, something sunnier, betray a changing of the generational tides. I call it Gen-Z Yellow. It was only a matter of time. The paradox which made pink so appealing — that a color with ‘girly-girl baggage’ could be re-imagined as a symbol of feminism and resistance — has been all but usurped by its own ubiquity.”
The term “Gen-Z yellow” stuck. Not only because it was adopted by other online publications (The Huffington Post, Apartment Therapy, Who What Wear and Refinery29, to name a few), but also because it quickly became evident that the color was, indeed, having a moment. Earlier this spring, Katie Smith — the retail analysis and insights director at Edited — told Who What Wear, “Even though retailers only lifted their new yellow arrivals by 0.2% in the last three months (compared to the same period in 2017), sellouts of yellow grew 106%. This is a consumer-driven trend, which currently outstrips supply.”
At the same time Gen-Z yellow was being groomed by for a millennial pink takedown, another contender emerged: lavender.
At the same time Gen-Z yellow was being groomed by for a millennial pink takedown, another contender emerged: lavender. Its ubiquity on Spring/Summer 2018 runways did not go unnoticed, and soon enough, outlets were endorsing its candidacy for “color of the moment.” “Lavender will be one of the statement trends of 2018,” wrote Who What Wear in December, “And we’re definitely ready to set our Millennial Pink aside to make room for the new It shade.” Vogue UK echoed this sentiment a few months later with the headline, “Could Lilac Be the Next Millennial Pink?”
Lilac or lavender, mauve or wisteria … the answer to Vogue UK’s question seemed to be something along the lines of: Maybe! But not without an adequately catchy name that ushers it into the ranks of true internet clickbait! Enter: “Melodramatic purple,” The Cut’s proposed moniker for this increasingly ubiquitous shade. The designation was inspired by Lorde’s light purple Monique Lhuillier gown that she wore to promote her most recent album, Melodrama, at the MTV Music Awards in August.
With a name that was decidedly fun to repeat, melodramatic purple edged its way up in the hierarchy of viable trending colors. People started hashtagging it on Instagram. The Paris Review wove it into an op-ed about how lilac suits the unease of our current political climate (“The country is stuck in a phase of half mourning, and what better shade to wear than a moody pastel, half hopeful, half gaudy?”). Amazon is selling a T-shirt with the following emblazoned in caps lock: “MELODRAMATIC PURPLE IS THE NEW MILLENNIAL PINK.”
Is it, though? I have my sights set on yet another emerging rival: a variation of green that shuffles somewhere between acid and lime. Like melodramatic purple, it emerged via Spring/Summer 2018’s collections (though perhaps in smaller doses) — Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Creatures of Comfort, Tibi, Balenciaga. Unlike melodramatic purple, it is a color that shocks instead of soothes — a veritable jolt to the system by way of your retinas.
I didn’t think much about it at the time, but now, six months later, I’ve started seeing more and more of it — and liking more and more of it, too. It’s one of those rare, delightfully strange colors (in an email to me, eponymous founder Maryam Nassir Zadeh called it “specific and unusual”) that goes with nothing in theory, but everything in practice. It’s slightly garish and certainly polarizing, and yet I can’t stop carrying around the one thing I own in the color: a quilted bag from the brand Atelier Mimii. Needless to say, I’m eager to add to my collection.
As for a catchy name to formalize its up-and-coming status, I’ve given that a lot of thought. At this point, we’ve collectively run out of new generations to associate trending colors with (hence, melodramatic purple), so I racked my brain for some other association that would peg this unique shade of green to this particular moment in time and encapsulate its underdog-like combination of alienating and appealing and offensive and charismatic, all at once. That’s when it hit me: This color is such a Miranda.
Is Miranda Hobbes green the rightful heir to millennial pink? I can’t think of any ascent more fitting, frankly, but only time will tell. Right now it doesn’t seem like millennial pink is going anywhere — at least not until it stops producing dollars and likes. However, regardless of whether or not it ultimately fades from the zeitgeist, it will undoubtedly leave a meaningful legacy behind: proof that, with the right branding, an otherwise perfectly regular color can not only reflect our current culture, but also help us make sense of it.
When I spoke with fashion psychologist Dawnn Karen about this topic, she said, “These same colors have existed since the beginning of time, we’re just giving them new associations. Pink used to be a more gendered color … but when we started calling it millennial pink, it became more neutral. Suddenly, pink didn’t just belong to girls, it belonged to an entire generation.” The Cut acknowledged this phenomenon, too, calling millennial pink a “genderless mascot.”
Given how successfully pink acclimated to its role as both a mascot for society and guaranteed clickbait, it’s not surprising that other shades of the rainbow would be primed and primped for the same. Millennial pink, Gen-Z yellow, melodramatic purple and Miranda Hobbes green are all viable diagnoses in an ongoing chromotherapy session. Their surrounding hype, I suspect, is a byproduct of the comfort derived from distilling identity — or, in this case, popular consciousness — down to something as simple as a color: a mood ring for our oversaturated time.
