heart to heart
summary:
“The touching of foreheads—this is an ancient greeting. that honors the heart and soul of another human.”
you and your lover have a tender moment.
includes: Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Reptile, Scorpion (Kuai Liang), Sub Zero (Bi-Han), Smoke, Shang Tsung, Mileena, Kitana, Ashrah, Havik, and Cassie Cage
note: something different ig?? just wanted to do something indulgent and wanted to dabble in drabbles. (these ended up being longer bc. pressure.) I also wanted to take this time to practice writing some sweeter stuff for the love interests of New Era + Cassie bc my friend likes her. idk if people want more I can probs do other charas too.
LIU KANG
A content sigh left your lips as you pressed your forehead forward to meet Liu Kang’s. Your eyes fluttered closed. His hands, which now no longer had their wraps, gently cupped your cheeks. His hands were always warm, and they helped keep away the chill of the night. A thumb gently rubbed small circles, a habit of his that you always found oh so endearing. You couldn’t help but to melt into his hands.
This was perfect. There was nothing more you could long for in this world. Though, you knew if you wanted anything Liu Kang would be there to fulfill your wishes. Anything was worth the smile on your face.
In the day, Liu Kang was often busy with his duties. Being the protector of Earthrealm came with many responsibilities, and the both of you knew that. Oftentimes, you would go long stretches within the day without seeing a hint of your lover. It was simply something you had to accept being Liu Kang’s lover. However, that did not mean he neglected you. Not at all.
At the end of the day, when the sun gave way to the moon and let it shine upon the world, Liu Kang returned. Night time was always the time he set aside for just the both of you. It soon became your favorite time of day just because it meant he would be there, right at your side.
“You look so perfect.” Liu Kang whispered. His voice carried reverence within it, as if you were the god who had crafted the universe with utmost care and love. You opened your eyes, and for a moment, you were left breathless. No matter how much time passed, he always looked at you as if you were the pinnacle of perfection.
Any sort of response you had was stuck in your throat. You could never tire of staring into Liu Kang’s eyes. You often asked if he had given himself the ability to hypnotize others with his gaze. He told you every time that no, he did not. But if he didn’t, why were you so entranced by them every single time you dared to look at them?
You wished you could put into words how much you loved this man. From the way he looked with his silky long hair that you loved to play and run your hands through, to the way he was so kind and loving. You often wondered and asked how you were lucky to be the partner of such a god, to which he always told you that he was the lucky one.
“I am thankful you wait for me every night.” The god murmured, his voice so full of love and genuine thankfulness. He removed his forehead, and you mourned the loss of contact before he pressed a featherlight kiss to yours. Then, he returned his forehead back to yours, and everything was as it should be. “I wish I could spend every minute by your side, my love.”
You wished so too, but every night was just enough for you.
KUNG LAO
Your forehead bumped into Kung Lao’s a bit clumsily. There was far too much energy and excitement buzzing in both of your veins to prevent that little stumble. It didn’t matter either way to you, you were just happy to be in his arms. He was equally happy to hold you, and you could tell by the way his arms squeezed around you.
You always felt happiest in his arms, honestly. There was nowhere else in the world you’d rather be than right here.
“Did you see that!?” Kung Lao asked, his eyes wide as they searched your face. While Kung Lao always sought out approval and compliments, there was nothing better than the ones he received from you. It just made him feel like he was on top of the world. To his delight, he saw the way you nodded accompanied with a wide happy grin on your face. The grins he got from you were perhaps the best type of approval he could ever get from you.
A laugh left your lips as he squeezed his arms tighter around you in delight. Every embrace from him felt like it was full of the love he felt for you, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. His nose nuzzled against yours, and more laughter spilt from your lips. You couldn’t help it, he knew just how to make you happy. Your face heat up from how nearly overwhelmed you were from his affection, the love nearly overflowing from your heart.
“You’re always so cute when you blush.” Kung Lao teased, a hand rising up to pinch at your cheek affectionately. His eyes glinted with mischief and glee, but most of all, love. He adored the way he could make you blush and how your heart would race. It meant that you felt exactly the same way whenever he would just look at you sometimes.
You leaned back, a wide grin on your face as you swatted away his hand in a playful manner. Rolling his eyes, he instead cupped your cheek. Before you could protest in any sort of way about his earlier comment, you were attacked with a flurry of kisses all over your face.
“Sorry, you’re too adorable. I couldn’t resist.” Kung Lao apologized, but you both knew he would pepper your face with his kisses again and again the next chance he got. His grin was the perfect mixture of smug and gleeful. And his dimples were the perfect icing on the cake. You raised a hand up to cup his cheek and traced his dimples with his thumb.
“A fan?” Kung Lao inquired, eyebrows raising up in a teasing manner. His ego seemed to only get bigger and bigger with every adoring look you gave him, but you didn’t care. A laugh left his lips again as he pressed his forehead back to yours. It was a little too much force again, but the both of you didn’t care. All that mattered was that you were together and basking in each other’s mutual affection.
You wouldn’t trade this feeling for anything in the world.
RAIDEN
Your forehead pressed against Raiden’s gently as the two of you lay underneath a sea of stars. You two had decided to stargaze since it was such a pretty sight outside. The sky was clear and the moon was full, and yet there was nothing you wanted to look more at than the man beside you. How could you not?
Your eyes searched your lover’s face, admiring how the moonlight fell just perfectly on his face. How could a man look so amazing as the one in front of you? Perhaps you’d have to thank Liu Kang sometime for blessing you with the image of perfection. While being so in awe of the champion’s beauty, you nearly missed the comment he made.
“You look amazing.” He spoke, his voice filled with so much affection for you. He always wore his heart on his sleeve. It was a trait you adored so much, even if was sometimes a flaw of his. A soft smile appeared on his face, the very same one that made you fall a bit more in love with him every single time. You couldn’t help but grin just a bit wider at the sight.
You should be the one telling him that, in all honesty. The proper words to express your love for him were lost though. How could someone express such adoration and love? You thought there weren’t nearly enough words in all of the realms to tell him how much you truly admired him.
His hand moved carefully towards your face, as if moving too fast would break the peaceful atmosphere. He was always so thoughtful about such things, especially so when it had to do with you. Then finally, after far too long, it settled on your cheek where it should be.
His thumb moved slowly across your face before it landed on your lips. It rubbed across your bottom lip leisurely. His gaze drifted away from your lips as he returned his thumb to rest on your cheek once more. Now they settled on looking into yours, and you wondered to yourself just how lucky you were to have such a man by your side.
“You are more lovely of a sight than all of the stars combined.” Raiden said, his voice filled with such sincerity it made your heart skip a beat. Then again, he was sincere in all things he said. It didn’t make you swoon over him any less. “I’m so lucky.” He confessed, humble as ever. You sighed at his little comment, withdrawing from his forehead to press a soft kiss on the tip of his nose for a moment.
You watched with silent admiration as color rose to his cheeks, blossoming in a soft reddish pink. Then, it spread across his face like a watercolor painting. If only you could save this view forever. You grinned at the sight, your heart swelling with joy. You couldn’t help but kiss him again, overwhelmed by the love you felt for the man in front of you.
What a sight.
JOHNNY CAGE
Your forehead pressed against Johnny Cage’s, and it felt like you were in a movie. Maybe you’ve been watching too many of his movies lately, but you couldn’t help it. You loved supporting him and his passions. The pride he had on being on screen was nearly palpable every time you watched one of his films.
The feeling of being in a movie wasn’t helped with the way your lover was acting.
I mean…the way he was looking at you was pretty much the perfect shot for a movie. Your cheeks warmed up, and you were certain Johnny was bound to notice. Even if he wasn’t looking at your cheeks, his hands were sure to feel how the skin beneath them heated up. Your eyebrows rose up, looking at him a bit confused.
“What? Can’t I look at you?” Johnny inquired, sending you a smile. It wasn’t quite the practiced, perfect smile he sent his fans. No, it was the smile he always sent you. It was a little less perfect, but it was a little more real…a bit more genuine. Best of all, it was just for you. Your heart couldn’t help but flutter a little at the sight.
By the gods your lover was so pretty. And he sure knew it, but how could you blame him? Looks like that were meant to be shown off. Even still, you were thankful for the small private moments like these were you were allowed to see the parts of him no one else could. It just reminded you of how fortunate you were to be with this man.
Little did you know how much he adored you right back.
You rolled your eyes at his comment, but in a light, playful manner. No, it wasn’t as if he couldn’t look at you. It just…mystified you why he looked at you like that. Like you were the most valuable thing he had. It felt almost impossible, after he once owned Sento, which he always went on and on about how he spent three million dollars on that. And that wasn’t counting the other countless possessions he had when he was at the peak of his richness.
And yet, despite your reservations on how much you deserved to be looked at like that, the admiration in his eyes made you reconsider. Johnny was always good at convincing you, he just had a way with words. Or sometimes his charisma was enough, much like in this case. His thumb brushed your cheek with a tenderness that made your heart skip a beat.
“Thanks for being my number one fan.” He murmured, pulling back to press a soft kiss onto your forehead. He let out a small laugh, the one that made you feel like you were on top of the world. “I hope you know I’m also your number one fan too.” The actor reminded you, his eyebrows raising to punctuate his point.
You knew that you both were each other’s biggest supporters, and that type of loyalty was priceless.
KENSHI TAKAHASHI
You made sure to place your forehead against Kenshi’s softly, trying to be gentle. You smiled at him, even though he could not see it. This was one of the rare few times Kenshi did not have Sento around, letting himself be the most vulnerable. And those times were always with you. He trusted you with his life, so this step wasn’t too farfetched.
“I wish I could see you.” Kenshi murmured his voice mournful. His hands reached up to cup your face. He knew he could always see you with Sento. But he didn’t want that. He wanted to see you with his own eyes. The swordsman wanted to see you, and your radiant smile in full color. He was grateful for what he gained after his loss, but sometimes he longed for sight just for you.
He supposed he would have to make do with what he could do instead.
Guiding his hands, you settled them on your face and closed your eyes. It was in these rare few moments that you two had a tradition. You were used to this and almost anticipated this every time he set Sento aside and sat down with you alone. His thumbs slowly rubbed your cheeks, as if marking out his starting place. Then, he finally began to move his hands. It was slow and deliberate, taking time to memorize every detail of your skin. Every winkle, bump, and mark, he wanted to remember it all.
First his hands moved slightly up. His fingers traced the curves and lines of your ears, refreshing his memory of how they looked by touch alone. Then, it moved higher, noting your hairline with his thumbs. His fingers brushed across your forehead, his thumbs tracing around where your foreheads connected together.
As his fingers reached your closed eyes, they lingered there. No envy coursed through Kenshi’s veins. Instead, only gratefulness swelled throughout the swordsman. He was thankful that you did not also go through the pain of losing your eyes in such a painful way. Leaning forward, he kissed your eyelids with utmost care.
“I want to protect you.” Kenshi whispered, pulling back to reconnect your foreheads. You couldn’t help but smile at his words, knowing that he meant it from the bottom of his heart. His fingers continued to make their way down, tracing your nose before they stopped once again at your lips.
His fingers mapped out the curve of your lips, especially noting the way they curled up to form your fantastic smile. He took a deep breath in, admiring just how soft your lips were underneath his fingertips. By the gods, he could never get over how nice your lips feel. A smile appeared on his own lips as he felt your smile grow.
He always loved your smile. Whether it be seen through Sento or felt through his own hands it warmed his heart. He would do anything to keep it, and you, safe.
And he knew, having you there in his hands as he pressed a gentle kiss to your smile, you would do the same for him.
SYZOTH
Sleepily, you pressed your forehead against Syzoth’s own forehead. Blearily, you opened your eyes to look at the man who slept beside you. He still looked half asleep as well. You looked him over, admiring the sight of the sleepy Zatteran. It was a sight that only you had the privilege to see. A smile appeared on your face as you raised a hand up to cup his cheek, your thumb rubbed circles to slowly coax him awake.
Looking over the shoulder of your lover, you noted the sunlight streaming in from behind the parted curtains. It hit Syzoth just perfectly, making him look like he was glowing. For a moment, you wondered if your lover was an angel instead of a Zatteran. You certainly felt blessed enough to have him to believe it. Then, you heard the familiar reptilian grumbles emanate from his chest as his forehead rubbed gently against yours, the tip of his nose brushing against yours.
Maybe he was both, you thought.
“Let’s just lie here for a bit more.” Syzoth mumbled, his voice laden with sleep. The arms around your waist were squeezing you tightly now, preventing any hope of climbing out of bed to start your day. It was as if you were a stuffed animal for him. You let out a small drowsy laugh, your fingers now pinching his cheek. As much as you adored sleepy mornings with your Zatteran lover, you knew that he had a very important job as the Empress’ emissary. Both of you had responsibilities to get to.
Syzoth simply huffed in response, not even responding with words to your attempt to wake him up. His hand reached up to grab yours. He pulled your hand off of his cheek and instead intertwined it with yours. The simple gesture made your heart melt. You could practically feel him basking in the warmth that you naturally radiated. You sighed as you opened your eyes a bit more, squeezing his hand in an attempt to pull him from dreamland.
“I promise I will get up soon.” Syzoth told you, his eyes now more open. It was almost as if he were awake the entire time, but he just was seeking an excuse to spend more time with you. Or maybe, that’s exactly what it was. You had a small idea of what the truth actually was.
You stared up into his stunning green eyes, the sight of them alone almost took your breath away. Combined with the gentle way he spoke, along with the way he looked at you, you easily believed him. Then again, you supposed you would believe anything he told you as long as he looked at you that way.
He could tell you that the sun was gone when it was high into the sky, or that the world was going to end within days and you’d believe him. How could you not when he looked at you that way? You sighed with fake reluctance as you relaxed in his embrace.
Okay, maybe you can sleep in a little longer.
KUAI LIANG
Your forehead settled against Kuai Liang and you enjoyed the warmth you felt from the contact. A smile rose to your lips. How lucky you were to be with a man who knew how to control fire. Equally warm hands reached up to cup your face in a gentle, affectionate way. A bit selfishly, you inched closer to him, seeking out his warmth. Your arms wrapped around him, trying your best to pull him as close as you could towards you. He seemed to notice, his hands pulling you just a tiny bit closer towards him as well.
Your heart fluttered at the gesture. Your lover always seemed to know exactly what you needed, even if you said nothing.
It was a cold, cold night. The chill of the night crept into your bones, and only the warmth of your lover seemed to abate it. You relaxed and closed your eyes, basking in the way he was naturally warm. It was always a comforting warmth, never the stifling kind that made you fidget. You always swore that you could fall asleep comfortably as long as Kuai Liang was there to warm you to lull you to bed.
Sleeping was something the both of you should be doing, and yet you were instead. You were basking in the comfort of being in each other’s arms.
With the mastery of a man who has been training in discipline all of his life, he heated up his hands carefully. It was almost symbolic. The way he held you so carefully was almost like he was cradling a small flame. Kuai Liang made sure to make it hot enough that you would no longer feel the chill of the night air, but not hot enough to make you uncomfortable, not to even mention hurt you.
The last thing he would want to do is hurt you. You were his everything.
His eyes, those dark brown eyes you loved to look so deeply at, stared at your face. While he normally loved to watch you, after all you were his favorite thing to look at, he now watched you carefully to gauge your reaction. He sought out to see any signs of discomfort or pain. He had to make sure you were feeling as comfortable as possible. After all, you deserve nothing less than the best.
“Is this better, love?” Kuai Liang asked, his voice quiet amidst the silence. There were not many things the man craved. It was a thing he prided himself on, how he was considerably humble, but he couldn’t deny how he longed for your approval. Even in the small things. A breath of relief was released from his chest as he watched you slowly nod yes. “Good.”
It was only then that Kuai Liang allowed a rare smile to appear on his lips. Your eyes fluttered open, and you couldn’t help but to internally swoon over the sight. How could you not? It was so precious and rare. You stared at his smile, trying to sear the image into your mind permanently.
Maybe instead of using his powers he should have just smiled instead. It made you feel warm enough.
BI-HAN
You pressed your forehead against Bi-Han’s, his hands drawing you closer to him. It was quiet in his room, even the quiet breaths between you two seemed almost too loud for the peace. And yet you did not complain. How could you? You were having a private moment with the man everyone swore was made of ice.
“Stay with me.” The man murmurs, his voice breaking the silence. You smiled at his demand, although it was more appropriate to call it a plea. You nodded, not wanting to break the moment of vulnerability you were bestowed. Your hands reached up to cup his face, matching the way he was holding you. He took a deep breath in, as if the next word was a heavy burden. “Please.”
His hands held you in such a specific way. It was careful and loving, but it was in such a way that felt like he was hiding you away from the world. It was not in the way that appeared that he was ashamed, not at all. If anything, Bi-Han was proud to be yours. No, the way he held you was so…private.
It was as if he were shielding the two of you from nonexistent prying eyes. This was a moment to be shared between the two of you, not anyone else. Not even the world itself was allowed to intrude in such a special and sacred moment. Now that was the way Bi-Han held you.
He held you like a treasure he wanted to keep all to himself.
Gone from his face was the usual stern look he wore. Instead it was replaced with a slightly vulnerable softer look. His eyebrows were not furrowed, instead lifted slightly. His eyes felt warm and full of silent admiration for no one else but you. Your heart skipped a beat, and you felt all too lucky to be blessed with such a sight.
His hands, which were normally frosted over, were merely cool to the touch. It wasn’t uncomfortable, instead the gentle touch with the coolness made your heart flutter. His thumbs traced patterns on your cheeks, as if creating his own little snowflakes on your skin. The normally cold grandmaster’s drop from the eyes he seemed to get lost in a little too often towards your soft and pretty lips.
With a sharp inhale, he lifted his forehead away from yours for a moment. Unable to resist, the cyromancer placed a gentle kiss against your lips. His breath when he pulled away was cool against your lips.
In this moment of vulnerability, he allowed a small, rare smile to grace his lips.
You swallowed, your eyes zeroing right onto the smile. How rare it was, how precious. How could you not help but gawk and admire? Despite your lover being a man who wielded ice, you found yourself melting all too easily into his gentle touches.
“Thank you for being here.” He murmured again, allowing himself to bare yet another part of his soul to you. Your thumbs traced his cheekbones and he knew the motion was answer enough. He closed his eyes, allowing himself to relax into your touch.
This was truly a moment that only you two were allowed to witness.
TOMAS VRBADA
As your forehead connected with Tomas’, you heard a sigh of exhaustion leave his lips. His arms draped around you lazily, almost having not enough energy to keep them around you. You let his weight lean onto you, almost letting the man nearly collapse on top of you. Another sigh left his lips as your hands kept his face close. It was almost as if you were keeping him up with your hands alone, at this point.
His eyes were shut, and you could see the hints of exhaustion begin to peek through his perfect face. As much as you knew he loved his new duties for the clan, you also knew he was beginning to hit his limits. Your thumb ran carefully across his face, almost like a little massage. The smallest of smiles appeared on his face at the little gesture.
“Training initiates are hard.” Tomas mumbled, and your heart nearly broke at how utterly tired he sounded. Even despite his exhaustion, you could tell the passion he had for his responsibilities. Still, it worries you no less. You hummed, an acknowledgement of his tiredness. You felt him lean a little more into your touch, allowing himself to indulge within the small moment you were sharing with him.
His arms moved around you a little less languidly, as if he found a second wind within your presence. And it was true, just being around you was enough to give him the strength to do more than he thought he could. Oftentimes when he felt like collapsing he thought of you waiting for him, and it gave him just enough energy to make it back into your arms every single day.
With another sigh he pulled you closer, a sense of greediness in his actions. You let him, indulging him. His smile grew a bit as he nuzzled your nose against yours slowly. A laugh left your lips at the action, and Toma’s heart couldn’t help but leap at the sound. Just your laugh was enough to re-energize him. Did you know how much you meant to him?
“Thank you for waiting for me.” Tomas said, his voice dripping with all the love he held for you. He knew that sometimes you would wait long stretches of time for him to return after every day ever since he was entrusted with more responsibilities. You never complained, never whined, you just welcomed him back every day with open arms.
He could ask for nothing more.
With a little chuckle, he squeezed you tightly. It was as if he was trying to show you how much he adored you, just how grateful he was with one giant hug. For that, you rewarded him with a small kiss, featherlight, right above his left eyebrow on his scar. It was a gesture Tomas swooned over. Even if you could not remove the scar itself, you could at least imbue better memories associated with it.
Even if he was given the weight of the world to balance on his shoulders, he would not complain as long as he had you to return to every night.
SHANG TSUNG
Your forehead pressed against Shang Tsung’s and suddenly it felt like the world didn’t matter. Your eyes closed, a sign of trust that Shang Tsung truly didn’t deserve. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders, allowing you to pull yourself close to the sorcerer. His arms, meanwhile, draped in a most elegant manner around you.
In these small moments where you closed your eyes, Shang Tsung truly let himself indulge in the beauty that was you. His eyes scanned your face, noting all the features that truly made you one of a kind. All the little things that you perceived as quirks and imperfections seemed only to create a masterpiece for him. For a man who has been condemned to a life of misery by the universe, he was fortunate that it was kind enough to let him meet you.
As your eyes fluttered open, the man had to reel himself back in. His gaze, though still soft, became just the tiniest bit more guarded. His smile which had been so genuine became just a little more precise and practiced. It wasn’t as if he didn’t show any love, far from it. But he had to remember that with the ambitions and plans he held, he had to just be a little more protective of himself. It’d be simply foolish to show just how much he adored you.
Everyday with you, however, the cracks were getting harder and harder to conceal.
“You look simply amazing my dear.” Shang Tsung complimented, raising a careful hand to stroke your cheek. Despite his compliment, that was not how he felt. He felt more for you, and you had no idea. You were stunning, gorgeous, divine, so much more than just amazing. But even all the words he could think of to describe you was not sufficient enough. For now, just amazing would do.
Your smile, which you blessed him with, had his heart aflutter. Before meeting you, Shang Tsung had little reservations about using others for his own gain. Others were simply an end to a means for him. And yet, with you, the idea of lumping you with the others he was quite ready to dispose of made him feel uneasy.
You were much more than just another stepping stone. Oh, but if the world were to know about his weakness for you, the universe would cast their cruel eyes upon you next. Selfish as the sorcerer was in keeping the truth of how deep his feelings were for you, he also saw it as a blessing. As long as the universe did not scorn you the way it did him, it was enough for now.
Letting the mask facade of how he felt slip just a touch, he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. With pride and satisfaction he felt your cheeks heat up just for him. Sometimes it comforted him to know that you felt perhaps a fraction of the love he truly held for you.
Maybe one day, just maybe, he’d finally let you know just how much power you had over him and his heart.
MILEENA
Your forehead pressed against Mileena’s, and you wished it was enough to drive the whispers away. In the privacy of your shared chambers, it was quiet. It was a nice reprieve from the stress of the throne and the doubters of your lover that you so loathed. Your hands reached up to cup her pretty face that you adored, looking into her eyes.
A smile was on her face. It was a weary one. You knew while Mileena strove to be the best Empress she could be, and took great pride in it, she often was tired by the end of the day because of it. Even if it was not physically, the mental toll of being on top of such a throne was tough work. You did not envy the burden she shouldered, but there were times you wished you could share the burden of it just so she can rest a little bit better.
You knew you could not, so you did whatever else you could instead.
You moved your forehead away to press a few kisses to her forehead, wishing so desperately that it would abate the worries of doubt that were planted in her head. If not that, you hoped that your kisses at least passed along some of your own energy so she could power through. You wondered, for a moment, if it was possible to do that. Your thumbs traced her cheekbones, and you wondered silently to yourself how you were so lucky to become her lover. You nearly missed the adoring gleam in her eyes, and it was a look that made your breath catch.
“I’ll prove those doubters wrong, don’t worry.” Your empress promised, her voice fueled with the determination of a woman who has been scorned. You smiled, knowing she had been able to read you and your thoughts like a book. To be so in sync with your lover was a blessing you were ever thankful for. As an acknowledgement of her words, you gave her another kiss, this time pressing it upon the scar that went through her eyebrow.
You never doubted Mileena’s prowess. She had so much drive, how could you not? And yet, if you could, you would do anything to silence the doubters. How dare they question her rule, how could they not see  the wonderful woman who was born to rule? You often told yourself, to calm yourself down, that they were merely jealous of your lover.
“There is nothing more I need than you to be by my side, dearest.” Mileena told you, her fingers tracing your cheek. Your heart skipped a beat, and you knew in that moment that if you could, you would stay by her side to always cheer her on. She didn’t even need to ask you.
You grabbed her hands, intertwining them with yours. You squeezed them tightly, trying to pour all the encouragement that you could not find enough words for in that one action. She returned the squeeze, a content sigh leaving her lips as her smile grew.
Maybe you couldn’t help with every trouble she had, but you could at least make her smile…and maybe that was just enough.
KITANA
You pressed your forehead against Kitana’s brow, and finally you felt your worries dissipate. It was hard to be the lover of a Supreme Commander. Every day you feared for your lover’s life. It was not as if you doubted her prowess on the battlefield. It was far from that, you thought she was the best fit for Supreme Commander after all. Even if she was the best fit, you sometimes selfishly wished that someone else would take her place so she could stay safe.
You have never confessed this selfish little secret to her.
It was just that…war was cruel. You’ve heard and known the horrors of war and how death doesn’t discriminate. Sometimes accidents happen, or a death can come out of nowhere. You feared that one day it might take the best thing you have in your life.
But now you didn’t need to worry, because now she was back and in your arms. You let out a sigh as you pressed your forehead a little more towards her. Meanwhile, your fingers traced the injuries she had suffered from the skirmishes she had gone through. You noted how the bandages from the medics were fresh. Your heart squeezed at the sight of them. If only civil war was not looming over Outworld, then she would not have to sacrifice herself out there on the battlefield.
“It’s okay, I’m safe.” Kitana whispered, dragging you out of your worrying mind. Her fingers traced your cheek, and she looked at you with a gentle gaze. You marveled at her ability to whisk away your worries. Looking into her eyes alone calmed you down and made you feel like everything was alright. You wished you could do the same for her. Her other hand intertwined with yours, squeezing it gently. You noted how her hands were still remarkably soft for a woman who goes to war. A soft smile appeared on her face, and you could not help the way that your heart raced.
Words caught in your throat, and you found yourself unable to express the utter amount of love you felt for the princess. How could you express these overwhelming feelings that threatened to consume you? You figured it was impossible to ever express just how much she meant to you with words alone. Instead, you moved to press a few kisses on her injuries. If only you had the ability to heal her wounds just like that. Did she know you would do that for her? A light laugh left Kitana’s lips at your actions, and you swooned over the sound.
“I appreciate you.” She said, her voice light with the remnants of the laughter she had blessed upon you. Her hand squeezed yours again to punctuate her point. You smiled at her, wanting to ingrain the sight of her being happy and by your side forever into your mind. Your thumb rubbed small circles on her hand.
Maybe she had to go to war, it was a harsh reality you’ve accepted, but as long as she returned to be in your arms…that would be enough.
ASHRAH
Your forehead pressed against Ashrah’s, and the music in the background made the moment feel just perfect. A wide smile appeared on your face as you guided your lover through a slow dance. You watched with joy as your lover’s eyes were wide with admiration as you led her through the dance. You wondered for a moment if she knew how much you adored her in return. Surely she didn’t, how could she? The both of you swayed back and forth, enjoying the intimate moment.
“There was nothing like this back in the Netherrealm.” Ashrah marveled, a smile that made your heart melt on her lips. It was the very same smile she would give you every time you showed her the joys of Earthrealm. You could never tire of the sight, and you knew you’d do anything to see it over and over again.
That was exactly why you introduced her to the idea of slow dancing. You knew she would have probably never experienced anything like this. And you were right. You were honored to be her first ever dance partner. The twinkle in her eye showed that she was just as happy to have you guiding her through this dance.
Together with the memories you formed together, you knew she was creating more and more of a home within this realm. You hoped that you were included in her idea of home.
A laugh left your lips as you pulled her close, craving more contact. Despite her dexterity in combat, she was not used to dancing. Chuckles left the both of you as you stumbled a bit, tripping over each other’s feet. Luckily, she did not fall. Instead, you held her tightly. You gripped her hip tightly, making sure she was steady.
“Forgive me, I wasn’t expecting that.” Ashrah apologized after her laughter died down. You found you could only grin and shake your head at her apology. You two were out here to create memories and have fun, not to dance perfectly for anyone else. She could step on your toes every few seconds and you could care less. Her laughter alone made up for any mistakes she made. “Thank you for showing me these Earthrealm customs.”
Anytime, you thought. Honestly, you would do anything for her. It was hard to believe she was a demon with a heart as pure as her’s. You didn’t care though. Her past as a demon was often a source of confusion and concern for others, but never for you. All that mattered was who she was now, and she was simply fantastic.
“I think I quite like dancing.” Ashrah commented, pressing a light kiss upon your cheek. Your heart skipped a beat as you stared at her with eyes full of adoration. How could you not swoon over her? You returned the favor, pressing a few light kisses all over her face. You couldn’t help it. Another melodic laugh left her lips.
Yeah, you think you like dancing too.
HAVIK
Your forehead bumped against Havik’s and you enjoyed the moment of serenity that was brought with it. You watched as your lover’s eyes closed, a rare moment in which he allowed himself to relax. You couldn’t help but to feel honored by the small gesture. He was always fighting, striving to fight for what his ideals were, but around you the man felt no need.
You eyed his scars, the ones he had gotten as a slave. Carefully, you reached out to brush your fingers against his scars. The care you put into the touch was not necessary, you knew Havik was strong and a simple brush against them would not break the man. Yet it felt it was necessary, These were reminders of his harsh past, a memory of why he was out there, fighting.
Honestly, all of him was a canvas. You knew very well that your lover was capable of healing his wounds ever since he met Quan Chi. Had he wanted, you knew he could repair the wounds he had gained through all of his life. But he didn’t. His body was his story. Every bump, bruise, cut that left a mark became like a stroke of paint. You couldn’t help but adore how he kept his imperfections. Not many would.
“Most don’t realize why I keep those around.” Havik grunted. There was a sense of frustration in his tone, no one else but you understood the vision he saw for the future, let alone understood the way he thought. You knew though. Even if he were to forget everything about you, he knew he would recognize your understanding from the reverence you carried when you traced the past injuries he wore like a badge. Only others who understood his ideals for the future would do the same.
You also knew that he thought it looked more fearsome. A burnt and scarred man was much more striking than a normal man. Your fingers trailed up his body, mapping out the locations of his injuries with your touch. Then, you let your fingers rest on his jawline right below where his flesh turned into exposed gums and teeth.
“You understand me.” Your lover said, his voice filled with the same amount of admiration for you as it did when he spoke of his vision for Seidou. You couldn’t help the way your heart skipped a beat as you realized that fact. You bumped your forehead gently against his again. Seeing as he had no lips to kiss, the two of you had settled on forehead bumping instead.
You felt Havik raise a hand, his touch gentle as it gripped your chin. He wasn’t known for gentle touches or gestures, but you were the exception. Softly, he bumped his forehead against yours again. Then, he rubbed it back and forth affectionately. You were, perhaps, the only person in the world he would allow himself to be this quaint with.
It was all for you, the one who he considered to be a true partner.
CASSIE CAGE
Your forehead settled against Cassie’s, and suddenly you were disinterested in the movie in the background. Instead, you were far too preoccupied with the sight of your lover and how radiant she looked with the colors of the television shining against her skin. How was it that every type of color seemed to compliment her perfectly?
“I thought we were supposed to be watching a movie.” Cassie teased, her eyebrows raising as she sent you a playful grin. She was a hypocrite though, as her attention was more on you rather than the movie she had picked out. Her arm was slung around your shoulders and you were cuddled close together on the couch.
Today was one of her rare days off. Ever since she got promoted, she’s been busier than ever. And yet, there were moments you two managed to find and relax together. Tonight was supposed to be movie night, you let her pick anything she wanted…as long as it wasn’t one of her dad’s films. She rolled her eyes at your little stipulation, but agreed. Your lover saw enough of her dad at work.
Even with your little agreement, you found yourself entranced with Cassie more. I mean, how could you not be? Her smile just seemed to be more eye-catching than anything Hollywood could produce. You were so entranced by her, in fact, that you didn’t notice the hand that snuck up to pinch your cheek. You jolted in surprise, letting out a small laugh.
“Thought I lost you there!” Your lover giggled, her hand now cupping your cheek instead. Her thumb gently rubbed over the part she had pinched, as if to soothe it. She let out a small sigh as she moved to nuzzle your cheek before giving it an affectionate smooch. “You know, Grandma Carlton has been dying to meet you.” She confessed, her voice going a touch sentimental.
Your heart pounded in your chest, and you felt excitement course through your veins. Has Cassie been telling good things about you to her grandmother? Upon seeing your giddy expression, she squeezed your shoulder with the hand that laid upon it.
“Hey, have I ever told you how much I adore you?” Cassie asked, and you felt like you were falling all over again. Cassie must have taken acting lessons at one point, because she knew exactly how to make you swoon as if she were the lead in a movie. Her eyes glimmered with affection as she pressed another kiss to your cheek.
A laugh that revitalized your soul came from your lover as you returned the favor and gave her a soft kiss back. In the midst of her laughter, you vaguely heard her mention how you were both definitely missing out on the plot. You didn’t care though, you were too busy admiring the real beauty in front of you.
Who needed movies? All you needed was Cassie, and you had a feeling she didn’t mind missing out too just for you.

i love ur fics sm, thank you for keeping this (somewhat inactive) fandom fed 😭🩷
could i request a fic with johnny cage (my literal husband) where the reader is generally a shy/reserved person who prefers to stay home, but goes to all of johnny’s events to support him. at one of his events, reader sees a woman getting too comfortable with johnny and she gets jealous and the reader becomes clingy/passive aggressive around the other woman, but when confronted/asked, she won’t admit that she’s jealous. i know u mainly write for 18+ so if you want it to lead to smut, that’s fine!
(sorry if its too long/specific feel free to ignore!)
“THE CATWALK” JOHNNY CAGE X FEM!READER
Tumblr media
A/N : thank you! Hope you like this. Also for little bit on context, for the ending of armageddon, it was you that stopped Titan Shang Tsung.
WARNINGS : MINORS DONT INTERACT. Nothing major but mentions of Johnny being “hard” and talk about sex
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
After the events of armageddon, you had actually became best friends with none other than Johnny Cage. It was interesting to say the least since the two of you were polar opposites but hey, your friendship was good.
Johnny became a big hit director and his movie “Mortal Kombat” was out at the premiere. So, of course he invited you to be his plus one.
Now, you weren’t very much of the party go-er. If anything you’d prefer to stay at home and lay in your bed for eternity but your best friend Johnny wouldn’t let you become a couch potato.
Not only that but you felt like you had an obligation to him as his best friend to go with him to his biggest night yet. And so, you did.
In the movie, there was a character named “Athena” that was written based on you. Johnny said you were gonna love her but you were a little nervous.
You were getting ready at Johnny’s mansion just because it was easier since he had a limo to take you to the big night.
You were in his guest bedroom, getting all dolled up. Your dress was a long dark green dress that reached to your feet. You were finishing up the last touches.
The door was already opened but Johnny walked up and gave it a knock anyway. “You almost ready? The limo is-“ He stopped his sentence when he had seen you. You were absolutely stunning to him. “Wow.”
You looked back at him. Then you started to get worried with your appearance and you looked back at the mirror. “Oh no. Does this not look good?”
“No, no. You look hot.”
When you saw Johnny pulling out his phone, you immediately shook your head and tried to hide your face with your hands. “Stop.”
Johnny ignored you and recorded you anyway. “Come on. The world’s gotta know I got the hottest best friend in the world.” Johnny came up behind you and placed his hand on your lower back. You instinctively dropped your hands.
You sighed some before shoving him away. “Alright. You got your shot. Now, go away. Forever.”
“You know you like me.” Johnny gave you a playful kiss on the cheek before he stopped recording. He started to walk out the room. “Hurry up. You get ready like a girl.”
“Maybe because I am a girl. Crazy thought I know.”
Tumblr media
Johnny knew you’d be nervous walking the red carpet with him so he made sure to keep you close at all times. He also always had his hand placed on your lower back.
Your nerves had died down just a little. Johnny made the experience all the more joyful with his humor. He made you laugh.
The truth was, you liked Johnny. A lot but you’d believe he’d never go with a girl like you. I mean he’s literally a hot shot movie director now.
It was time to watch the movie. You were excited to see it and how Johnny saw you. Again, the nerves came back.
Through out the movie, your double, Athena, was described to be a shy and reserved individual but a really good martial artist.
In real life, you were the mentor for Raiden, Kenshi, Kung Lao, and Johnny and helped them train for months.
You had laughed because you caught on that the character that was suppose to be playing “Johnny” was getting his ass kicked by your character. (As it had happened in real life.)
Johnny had made sure to watch your reactions to the movie and he smiled every time you laughed. It made him feel good that you liked it.
What you didn’t expect was at the end of the movie. Your character, Athena had defeated the powerful sorcerer and stopped evil through out all realms. Your character was viewed as the hero.
You were shocked. Johnny viewed you out to be a hero?
When it was done, Johnny was mingling with the crowd just trying to ask questions about the movie and what not.
That’s when you saw him talking to a woman. At first, you didn’t think anything of the conversation but then she gripped Johnny’s arm and began to laughed.
Something inside of you did a double take. What made you even more mad? Johnny was laughing with her and accepting her touch.
You shouldn’t be upset. You and Johnny weren’t dating. Not even in the slightest.
Oh but it did. It did very much.
So much so you did something that was not in your shy nature.
You walked over to Johnny and the woman. Your arm snuck around Johnny’s right arm. He looked to see it was you and smiled. “Hey (Y/N)-“
He was cut off by you grabbing the back of his neck and bringing him down to your lips. Johnny stood there, a little shocked but made sure to snap himself out of it. He kissed you back.
The woman scoffed as you made out with each other right in front of her. The kiss was starting to turn so sloppy that you two were tongue kissing.
When you thought you made your point- you pulled away and turned to look back at her. “You’re still here?” You questioned her, annoyed.
The woman waved you two off and walked away. Johnny was blinking his eyes. Completely confused. “Not that I didn’t enjoy every minute of that but what in the actual fuck just happened?”
It was like you yourself had snapped out of it. You shook your head and tried to walk away. “I don’t know but peace out-“
When you tried to walk away, Johnny grabbed your arm so you were forced to stand there. “Oh no. You’re not getting away that easy.”
You sighed a little, snatching your arm back. “I’m saving the world by one skank at a time. You should be thanking me. She probably had diseases.”
Johnny couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ve had my ‘skank’ shots. I think I’d be alright.”
“Oh so you wanted to go out with her?”
“What in the world are you going on about?” Johnny then now understood. He snickered a little, shaking his head at himself for not realizing sooner.
You gave him a look. “What? What’s so funny? I’d like to know.”
He jabbed you in the shoulder playfully. “You like me.”
You tried to act like the idea of you ever possibly liking Johnny Cage was the most disgusting idea ever to know. “What? Me? Like you? No way. We’re friends.”
“Uh huh…” Johnny trailed off, smiling and not convinced.
You placed your hands on your hips at his tone. “I’m serious. I can’t even see myself being with you in like any scenario.”
“Right…so just to be clear-you tongue kiss all your friends like that?”
You couldn’t even defend yourself it felt like because in reality he was right. “Never in a million years. Like you’re so annoying.”
“Yeah?”
“And a player and conceited and the worst person on the planet and-“
Johnny didn’t let you finish your rant. He cupped the back of your neck and pulled you up to kiss him.
As much as your brain told you not you, your heart was doing cartwheels. You had to. You kissed him back and wrapped your arms around his neck.
Johnny’s left hand went to your hip. He pulled you in closer so he closed the distance between you two. He licked your bottom lip and nibbled on it slightly, making you let out a moan.
He chuckled against the kiss and he pulled away. “So you don’t like me?”
“No.” You said and then walked away from him, causing him to shake his head.
Tumblr media
Back at home, you were back at Johnny’s guest room. The plan was always for you to spend the night after the premiere but now it felt awkward.
You were in your PJs. You were making the bed but frustratingly so. You could not get the sheets to lay on equal sides.
A knock was at your door. The door was already opened and you looked to see Johnny there in his own PJs. They were cartoon PJs with pajama pants and a t-shirt. You should’ve expected he’d wear something like that.
“You’re a kick ass martial artist but don’t know how to make a bed?”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “We did not have these kinds of beds growing up thank you very much.”
Johnny snickered. “Let me help you.” He walked into the room and grabbed the sheet from you. He then started to lay it on the bed.
You felt anxiety creep in. You twiddled with your fingers. You couldn’t look at him. “I’m sorry I interrupted you with that girl.”
“You mean your sorry that you cockblocked me?” When Johnny saw your expression, he chuckled. “Don’t worry about it. Kissing you was worth more than that anyways.” He said and started to put the second sheet on.
All the flirting Johnny ever did was now getting to you and you officially couldn’t take it anymore. “Why do you do that? Why do you always flirt with me?”
Johnny finished placing the sheet on the bed. He looked up to you and sighed. “(Y/N)-“
“And then the movie. Why did you write me like that? Why did you write me that I was the hero? Why do you do things like that?”
Johnny took a step towards you and grabbed your hand. “Because that’s how I see you. (Y/N), you’re the most badass girl I know.”
You took your hand away from him. “I’m not.” You turned so your back was facing him. “I have anxiety, I don’t like to talk to people, I get nervous even by the slightest bit of social interaction. What about any of that is ‘badass’?”
Johnny rubbed on your back and shoulders to try and relieve the tension that was built up in you. “Nothing you said has anything to do with being badass. You’re amazing and you do deserve it.”
“Why are you always so nice to me?”
“You know why.” Johnny forced you to face him. He cupped your face and wiped away all of your frustrated tears. “You know I like you, doll.”
You sniffled a little. Then brought your own hand to your face to wipe away the tears. Finally, you admit it. “I like you too.” You pushed him away slightly. “But I don’t think I can do this with you. We’re both on…different levels. You like to go fast all the time and I’m always slow in the background.”
Johnny grabbed both your hands. He set you and himself down on the bed. “Then I’ll be in the background with you. I’ll go slow. Slow as a turtle.” You chuckled a little at his analogy. He lifted your chin up so you were facing him. “Nothings gotta change.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. We’ll still be best friends. I’ll still mess with you and you’ll still eat all my food. The only difference is a title. Oh and also really great sex.” You swatted his arm a little at the last thing and he laughed. “Come on, (Y/N). One shot- that’s all I’m asking.”
You thought about it for a moment. You did really like Johnny. He was more than a best friend to you. He always made you feel good about yourself. And that’s something you cherished about him.
“Alright. One shot.”
“You won’t regret it, babe…probably.” You shook your head at him. The two of you stared in each other’s eyes. Then flickered to your guy’s lips. “Is it okay if I kiss you? Remember I’m moving as slow as a turtle for you.”
You laughed slightly. Instead of answering him, you kissed him. Johnny kissed back, placing his hand at the back of your neck.
The kiss was passionate. Like you two were starving for each other. Of course, Johnny was the best kisser you’d ever had but you would never admit that to him. It would only inflate his ego more.
The kiss started to get heated. Your hand felt up on his chest and your lips went to his neck to kiss on it.
Johnny moaned at the kisses on his neck before snapping himself out of it. He pulled away and stood up from the bed. “Nope.” You looked at him offended. “Promised you slow and that’s what you’re gonna get.”
Wow, he was actually taking this slow thing seriously. “Well, can I sleep in the same bed as you or is that going too fast for you, Cage?”
“Nah. That’s perfect speed.” Johnny helped you stand up from the bed. “Just don’t do no funny business because I’m already hard-“
You didn’t believe him but you looked down and he was in fact, hard. You gasped out in surprise and slapped his chest. “Johnny!”
“What? You’re the one making out with me and giving me neck kisses.”
You shook your head slightly and went with him to his bedroom. Guess you and Johnny were gonna try this out.
“Did I ever tell you how amazing your ass looked in those shorts?”
“Shut up, Johnny.”

yandere kung lao I’m begginf,,,,
self aware! yandere kung lao x reader pt.1
warnings: mk1 story mode spoilers, obsessiveness, gender neutral reader, ooc kung lao, self aware kung lao
summary: kung lao is aware he is in a video game, and he just loves you so much. he just wishes he didn’t have to be behind a screen.
a/n: anon im so sorry it took me a bit to get to this, anyways i decided to mix it up and make kung lao self aware bc i thought my yandere hcs were getting too repetitive and i am also a diehard SAGAU fan. (also sorry for my mini break, finals week is crazy man.)
part 2
Tumblr media
- kung lao *hated* being stuck behind a screen. behind a stupid wall. away from you.
- you were just a regular mortal kombat fan. when mortal kombat 1 was announced, you were just so excited to get your hands on the game.
- you watched playthroughs before you could buy the game, and you were so happy when you found out that you could play as kung lao in the first chapter of story mode.
- when you got your hands on the game, you noticed that every time he had a funny one-liner in the story mode, he would look at the camera and wink. that’s weird… he didn’t do that in the playthroughs you watched… but oh well, it’s probably nothing.
- in the final battle you even chose to play as kung lao out of all the fighters. he was surprisingly easy to use, and his moves seemed to hit even harder than usual and the fights would be over in a blink of an eye. maybe he was buffed just for the fights?
- and when you finished the story mode and checked out all the skins and rewards you got, you noticed that you somehow had all of kung lao’s stuff unlocked. all of his palettes, skins, brutalities, etc. everything. you owned all of it. even the ones that weren’t out yet.
- you thought it was just a glitch, so you shut your device down and restarted it. but when you opened it again, his stuff was still there.
- and it got even weirder. when you tried to practice, the game only let you use kung lao. for some reason, you couldn’t use any other fighter. you couldn’t even use any kameo other than kung lao.
- he was still your favorite character and all, but that was weird. you tried to exit out of the game and restart it again, but it wouldn’t shut down. the game stayed on. it was frozen on kung lao. and he seemed to just stare at you. as if he knew you were there.
- you were starting to get creeped out, so you completely powered off your device and decided to leave it disconnected overnight.
- but over that little period of time, even though it was only a few hours to you, it felt like an eternity for kung lao.
- he felt hurt. a bit betrayed, even. did you not like him anymore? was he not enough for you? he gave you everything he could. he did everything he could to show his love for you, since he cannot communicate any other way.
- without you playing the game, he felt nothing. he couldn’t feel your warmth. it was nothing but a cold, dark space. he needed you. he needed you to always be with him. even if he couldn’t communicate with you, he’d figure something out.
- that’s why he was changing the coding of the game. he had to always be on your screen, or at least give you hints that he was self aware. he wouldn’t know what to do with himself if you weren’t looking at him. if you weren’t using him all the time.
- what do you mean you want to main johnny cage? or raiden? or even syzoth? what do they have that kung lao doesn’t?
- you liked the powerful fighters? no worries, he can just nerf everyone else and completely manipulate the coding of the game so he has the best damage.
- you thought the other fighters were more attractive than him? he’ll change the game so their designs were ruined and less pleasing to your eye.
- he would mend himself to your liking. he just needed you to use him. please make him feel important and useful. make him feel worthy of being your main. your favorite.
- if anyone became your favorite instead of him, he would go ballistic. he would rethink his entire existence. he’s so strong, and funny, and easy to use. so why would you choose anyone else? what’s wrong with him? is he not enough for you?
- if kung lao found out you wanted to start using a different fighter, he would erase them from the game. they would be nowhere to be found. their image in the game would be warped into a bunch of blurry pixels.
- if he has to erase the entire kast of fighters, he will. he needs your love. he needs your attention. if he isn’t your favorite, then what is the point of his existence in the game?
- kung lao needs you. and you need him too. why can’t you see that? he’s done everything he could to gain your approval. he was already so great, but he changed himself for you. accept him. please.
- the last thing he would resort to is bringing you in the game with him. what better way to stay by your side, than force you into the world of mortal kombat?
- at first, he didn’t exactly like the thought of taking away your freedom, but the more he thought about it the more he craved your company. why stay behind your screen when he can just bring you with him? now, you don’t have to turn your device on and off! he’s not going anywhere. and you aren’t either.

Ooo can u do jealous bi han scenario/one shot?
i didn’t have inspiration at first but it suddenly came to me, like, ok why not. was supposed to be short but is kinda more than i anticipated (0.4k words). lot of dialogue cuz i suck at description lol. not proof read (will do it later, maybe, i’m tired, its 3 am, i have school, i’m talking way too much, gn)
───────────────────────────
you've been tasked with organizing the cleaning tools and supplies as it's your responsibility to take care of cleaning the backyard today.
while absorbed in the task, you failed to notice someone entering the room.
“so this where you were…”
caught off guard, you dropped what you were holding.
“by the gods! you- wait. how did you know i was there?”
“unimportant.”
you sighed as you picked up what you had dropped.
“i swear you almost scared me to death…”
“death may be imminent for you depending on your answer to my oncoming question.”
you paused, reflecting on his words with closed eyes and furrowed brows, then shook your head.
“ok… what have i done?”
you replied as you continued with your task.
“don't assume I overlooked your actions with that foolish monk.”
you quickly turned around to gauge his expression, and you could discern his anger beneath the mask. the least you could said was that you were doomed.
“who? raiden?”
“the other foolish monk.”
in an instant, everything made sense in your thoughts.
“ohhhh… kung lao! haha…”
“is this amusing to you?”
“it's just that... i don't understand what you're accusing me of.”
“quit feigning ignorance; you know exactly what I'm referring to.”
you huffed.
“if only!”
you pivoted entirely to confront him.
“why not be more direct about what I've done wrong? it could help us make progress. just saying.”
“what was the reason for him holding you earlier?”
“ohhhh…”
you recalled the events from this morning.
“explain.”
you waved your hand at him, dispelling his concerns.
“it was nothing; i just lightly twisted my ankle, that's all.”
“what?”
he nearly rushed to you, but you halted him in his tracks.
“bi-han, i said "lightly." it was truly nothing, just a slight twinge of pain. that's why kung lao got a bit carried away and assisted me.”
he huffed, swiftly raising his chin in disdain.
“he didn't just assist; he practically enveloped you.”
“if you had witnessed the entire scene, you would have observed me leaping out of his arms.”
“i should consider tearing his arms off for this.”
“huuum, sexy~”
“alright, I'm done dealing with your attitude.”
you began to laugh at his irritated expression, prompting a deadly glare from him. he then turned away to leave.
“oh come on! don't give me the cold shoulder now!”
you spoke amid laughter.
he halted, slowly pivoting to cast upon you the most exasperated expression.
“oop- no pun intended!”
his sigh was so deep and prolonged it caused the room temperature to plummet by at least five degrees which elicited a shiver from you.
you shrugged apologetically, wearing a sorry smile, and approached him slowly. softly chuckling, you ran your hand over his torso, eliciting an eye roll of annoyance from him due to your feeble attempts to soothe his nerves. he subtly made sure you weren't limping.
“don't be upset with me. you're well aware that I have no interest in him.”
he didn't respond but glanced back at you with a raised eyebrow, prompting a smile from you. you couldn't resist the urge to tease him.
“you are incredibly cute when jealousy surfaces, grandmaster.”
“i am not.”
“oh yes, you are!”
you spoke as you gently tapped his torso.
“whatever you stance, i’ll leave you to it. i have duties to fulfill.”
he said as he walked past you, intentionally bumping into you to clear his way. you let out a small whine in response to his abruptness.
“bi-han! we are not done here!”
“in my perspective, we are.”
you sighed, crossing your arms. you knew he was thickheaded before, but now he's just downright childish.
you watched him leave, but he suddenly halted in his tracks and spoke without turning back.
“i will meet you tonight… we’ll dine out.”
you gasped in excitement, placing your hand over your mouth to suppress your laughter.
“ow… you big softie <3”
he grunted and shook his head, immediately regretting his statement.

Liu Kang x Reader: Friendzoned
A/N: Saw something like this a while ago and wanted to make my own version. I couldn't find it again however :')
Warning: Slight angst? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You're just going to get yourself hurt, you know." Kung Lao bluntly stated as he shoves another dumpling into his mouth using his chopsticks. "You know he's with Kitana."
You sat across him at the table, your fingers messing up your hair from the uncomfortable tension you had inside you. Of course you knew they were together... or possibly together, but-
"Yeah, well, Liu never confirmed it, actually. And don't you think Raiden would like, I don't know, not allow it?"
The monk swallowed his food and sighed. "It doesn't need to be confirmed. It's obvious. Denial doesn't suit you well, Y/n."
"I'm not in denial!" Your voice raised slightly. "I just..." Words and thoughts were scrambling all over your mind. You couldn't utter out another excuse.
"I'll tell him how I feel. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, right?" You chuckled uneasily.
Kung Lao shook his head at you before eating another dumpling. "Okay, but don't come to me when your spirit gets shattered."
Standing from your seat, preparing to leave, you nodded at him. "I promise I won't. Thanks for listening to me... even though I probably am stupid for this."
After you rushed out the small restaurant, Kung Lao called the waiter over.
"Could I take an order of mochi and a bottle of sake to go, please?"
---Time skip brought to you by Fujin and Nightwolf braiding each other's hair, because I simply cherish the hell out of both of them---
Each step you were close to the Wu Shi academy, each ounce of anxiety swarmed over you, making your stomach hug itself tightly.
However, you really need to tell him how you feel before it's too late. You held it in from him for a while, and it started to tear at you.
Entering the academy, you located him, finding the champion meditating alone. Perfect for you to just approach and speak to him... right?
"L-Liu?" Slowly walking up to him, your hands mindlessly went to fiddle with your hair. A simple nervous habit.
He opens his eyes to see you. He greets you with a friendly smile, making you feel slightly giddy.
"Hey, Y/n! Here to train?"
"Oh... actually... I wanted to speak to you about something."
Liu's face started turning into one with concern, he gestures for you to sit in front of him, which you did.
"Is there something wrong? Go ahead, you have my full attention."
Taking one, long, deep breath, you forced yourself to talk. For a few silent minutes, you told him how you felt. How you were grateful for your friendship with him, how you enjoyed spending time with him, training or not.
And how most importantly, you always wanted to tell him how you wanted to be more than friends with him. For him to be your lover. Even with the chance that he actually has eyes for Kitana.
You finished your little speech and proposal, looking at him, waiting on his response.
He looked a bit shocked, and then... sorry?
"Oh, Y/n. I- I enjoy all the time I spend with you too. You are a wonderful friend and person."
Your heart felt fuzzy. Was this hope?
"But I can't be with you."
Your heart instantly replaced that hope with dread. "Oh... Maybe I came to you too late?"
"I supposed that since I'm with Kitana now, but I never really thought of you like that. Just a friend. Maybe a sister at most. I'm sorry. I hope we can still be friends."
You looked away, tucking your lips, but nodding. "It's fine... I feel somewhat I still got to talk with you." You were just saying that. You stood up, not glancing at him.
"I shall leave you alone now. See you later..."
"Right." Liu Kang said awkwardly. "Again, I'm sorry."
You didn't respond. Just left feeling detached.
When you got home, you sat down on your couch and did nothing. Just thinking and moping. You knew the obvious outcome of telling him, so why does it still hurt?
'I'm stupid for even having hope. Who even wants to be with me? Stupid. Stupid.'
You gritted yourself and pinched yourself.
You jumped a bit as you heard a knock at your door. You gritted your teeth, feeling more irritated.
"Come in!" You yelled, hearing the door open at your invitation.
It was Kung Lao. Smiling sympathetically, carrying a bottle and small box.
"Heyyy, friend, I brought a little something in case you were feeling sad." He gestures to the items.
You sulked more on the couch at this kind action.
"Sorry, should I just leave these and go?" He slowly sets his gifts down and backs up.
"Stay." You commanded without looking at him.
"Very well." The Shaolin monk smirked and sat next to you on the couch, ready to make you feel better.

Do you write for Havik or Rain? I just barely see any fanfics of them and since ur an MK writer, I am taking the chance.
Could you write Earthrealm Champion! Reader with either Havik or Rain? Like some enemies to lovers tension going on... You don't have to write them if you don't want to though, I just wish they had more content.
sweet as wine
a/n: god knows i need more content for the both of them as well.
pairing: rain x afab!reader
warnings: nsfw (MDNI), creampies
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rain didn’t like you all too much
you also had water magic and when you had bested him in kombat because he foolishly believed that a human wouldn’t be able to beat the high mage of outworld…
well, safe to say, he felt humiliated
even more so when you had stuck your tongue out at him like som petty child and then put your hand up and flipped up your middle finger
he wasn’t sure what it meant but judging by Raiden’s disappointed glare, he knew it was some sort of insult
he sits across from you in the dining hall while you chat with the others about something on Earthrealm, and he scoffs at you when you say you had learned some water tricks when you were younger
you glance at him at his sound, but you just shoot him a glare before continuing with how you first learned flashy tricks as a dancer before switching to kombat
the next few days are torture having to sit next to you and listen to your stories
he tries to one-up you with his own stories about the decades he spent learning mastering the art of water magic, and yet you always seem to do better than him
you wielded magic younger, you learned it faster, you fought better with the water than he did, and it infuriated Rain to no end
even worse, he was always stuck next to you because two water magic users theoretically should get along with each other, but Rain held nothing but envy towards you
and yet, despite all that, you were always somewhat cordial with him, letting the smallest hints of frustration shine through when he grumbled something derogatory about Earthrealmers
but, you still stuck by him closely and traveled with him around the palaces and the village outside, and he eventually stopped mumbling insults at you and started seeing who you really were
he couldn’t deny that you were beautiful, especially in the soft glow of the lanterns while smiling at him
you bought him food and desserts from the vendors and asked him to explain it all to you about the food, and he found himself day after day finding joy in watching your face light up when he explained the cultural treats and snacked on them
and then he had gone and betrayed the empire and flooded Seido with water, too blinded by his ambition, and he had come back to court begging for forgiveness and to be punished for his actions
and then you were there, defending him to try and better himself as a person rather than be locked up to rot for the rest of his life
Rain felt his heart thump at the sight of you fighting for him, and he knew he was a goner
he spent his days bettering himself with you by his side, teaching him all the tricks you had learned, and he did the same for you
sometimes, some of the old banter would come back, insults flying at each other, but now it was underlined with a hint of playfulness, a hint of flirting
or maybe it was all in his head
and now, he sat with you on the balcony of the training pits, moon high in the sky, as you both drank some sweet outworld alcohol and regaled each other with tales of learning and failing certain water magic
you laugh as he tells you he had been trying to make a ball of water float over to him when he first learned magic but it had ended with puddles on the floor and a mop to clean it all up
you slap his shoulder and lean in close, not quite believing that the high mage of outworld couldn’t even manage to float a simple ball of water
Rain rolls his eyes, but he can’t help but focus on the way your hand is so warm on his shoulder
he takes another sip of his drink and tells you that you couldn’t have been perfect at wielding magic at first as well, and you smile and giggle
you tell him about how the first time you had wielded water magic, you had gotten mad at your mom for something frivolous and the sink in the kitchen had exploded during your tantrum
Rain doubles over in laughter, and he doesn’t realize how close he is to you until he opens his eyes and finds your face just a few inches from his
your eyes flicker from his eyes to his lips, and his heart thumps in his chest
if he just leaned in a little closer, he would be kissing you
he whispers at you to tell him to stop if you get uncomfortable, and he raises a hand up to cup your face
you lean into the touch, and he dips his head down low to press a soft and quick kiss to your lips
you smile at him when he pulls back and ask with a smirk if that’s all he can do, you would’ve thought a mage with decades more experience would be more bold
Rain rolls his eyes and grabs onto the lapels of your shirt and smashes your lips together
you groan into the kiss and slide into his lap to try and get closer, and Rain presses his tongue into your mouth, desperate to taste all of you
you let him in, and you cup the back of his neck as your hips slowly grind into him
Rain can feel himself getting hard underneath you, and you seem to know it to because your other hand comes down and palms at his dick
he groans and pulls away to admire you
your chest is heaving, your lips are glossy, and your cheeks are flushed from the alcohol and the kiss earlier
Rain asks if you want to go further, and you jump up and drag him to his feet and tell him to take you to his bedroom
he smiles and quickly whisks you away to his bedroom, but it’s not quite so subtle with the way your giggles and his laughs echo in the high palace hallways and how your footsteps stumble all about the marbled floors
but finally, the two of you reach his bedroom, and he leads you to his humble bed
you fall onto the bed on your back, and Rain crawls onto the bed and kisses you again, weight atop of you and pressing his clothed cock into your hips
Rain grinds into you and moans into your mouth while his hands paw at your clothing clumsily, fingers not quite as deft with the alcohol running in his veins
you taste so sweet for him, and you can’t seem to get enough of him either with the way your hands claw at his clothes
the two of you pull apart, and Rain’s not quite sure what to do next honestly
but it seems you’re not too sure either because the two of you just lay on the bed, breaths mingling as your chests heave
Rain asks if you’ve ever done this before, and you let out a sigh of relief and say that you thought you were the only one
you then prop yourself up on your elbows and say you would’ve thought that since he’s so old that he would’ve had at least some experience
he ducks his head as his cheeks warm and says he was too busy focused on his studies to try and get with anyone
you laugh at him and call him a nerd, and he scowls at you
but you stop laughing eventually and wipe away a tear and say let’s take it slow
Rain nods and kisses you sweetly, before you pull away and say to get those damn robes off him, you want to see him in all his glory
he blushes at your lewd words, but when you start undressing as well, revealing your plush chest and toned legs underneath the uniform, Rain hurries to undress as well
the two of you throw your clothes onto the floor, and the both of you trace each other’s bodies with your fingertips
Rain can feel himself getting harder as your hands lightly brush over his arms, his chest, his stomach
and he can feel your impatience as well with the way you squirm underneath his warm hands squeezing your chest and your thighs
he kisses you again, leaning overtop of you, and you wrap your legs around his waist and grind your pussy against his cock
he moans into your mouth at the feeling of your wet pussy sliding against his, and he reaches a hand down to line himself up and push into you
you whine at the stretch and tell him to slow down, you need to adjust
little tears well at the edges of your eyes as you pant, and Rain peppers light little kisses over your face as he stays buried inside of you
he moans into your skin at the feeling of your warm wet cunt around his cock, but he keeps his hips still as he lets you adjust to the stretch
finally, you let out a whimper for him to move, and he gives an experimental thrust
you let out a little whine and throw your head back as you dig your nails into his back, and Rain groans at the feeling of your pussy tightening around him
his thrusts are slow and shallow at first, but as your whine grow needier, Rain’s thrusts gets faster and rougher until he’s fucking into you roughly
his hips make a wet slapping sound as they meet yours and bumps into your clit, sending little stars bursting through your vision
you moan as Rain re-angles his hips and his tip bullies against your sweet spot
your whimpers grow louder, and you scratch angry red lines into Rain’s back as he groans into your ear
you’re so tight and warm for him, and the little pleas you let out as he fucks into you has his mind spinning with pleasure
he captures your lips in a kiss, and you moan into his mouth as your cunt clamps down on him and you cum
Rain whines into your mouth, and his hips stutter as he cums inside of you
he lets his seed empty into your wet pussy and kisses you until you’re both breathless again
finally, he pulls out, and he lays down beside you
you can feel his cum dripping out of you, but you can’t really find it in yourself to care as Rain brings you close to his plush chest
you look up at him, and you can’t help yourself as you tell him that he didn’t do so bad for a old man
Rain scowls down at you and reaches his hand down to give a playful smack to your ass, and you wiggle your eyebrows at him, telling him jokes on him you liked that
Rain smiles and tells you next time, and you laugh and cuddle up next to him
the both of you fall asleep quickly, close together and in each other’s warmth

I’m not sure if you are taking requests at the moment, but if you are can you please write Raiden (MGRR) going down on his s/o for the first time? 🛐
Of course friend! Once again I am sorry if Raiden is ooc, I'm doing my best lol. Sorry it took so long for this to come out, I hope it's worth the wait!
CW: oral sex (fem receiving), semi public, more wireplay cause I had 3 good Raiden headcannons and that was 2 of them,
Every part of Raiden's body was a weapon, from the sharp claws to the titanium jaw you had your lips pressed against now. You were nervous enough to touch him in his regular body but now even just lightly resting your hands on his chest made your heart race like you were holding a loaded gun, anticipating something to trigger if your hands wandered to freely over the ridged metal plates. It didn't help that he had just gotten back from a mission, you could hear his machine heart whirring while pumping coolant through his overheated body, you could even still smell the metalic traces of blood and cybernetic viscera that hadn't been completely cleaned from his body.
Breaking the kiss he exhaled, letting out hot steam in the other direction and increasing the temperature of the confined space the two of you had stolen away in. He checked one more time that the closet door was locked then made sure his radio was off while you did the same.
"No one can hear us in here right?" You asked, keeping your voice down to a low whisper.
"That depends on how loud you're gonna be" He purred, his hands running us your sides threatening to make you gasp.
You answered with a quiet laugh, his carefree attitude putting you at ease though there was still the matter of his body. Again you felt tense at the foreign pieces of metal digging into your skin as he pressed against you, not only wondering about the safety but the possibility of what he was doing to you. Thoughts of danger and pleasure stirred in your mind when you felt his mouth touch your neck, you sighed at soft feeling of his lips while shuddering at the hard feeling of his metal lower jaw paired with the touch of his sharp claws sneaking under your shirt and threatening your skin with the light touch of sharp edges.
Finding the opportunity to blurt out while he explored you. "Are you sure you don't want to wait until you're back in your civilian body?"
"Why? You don't want to?" He asked, teasing with fake puppy dog eyes knowing that wasn't the truth.
"I do but... I don't know how you can make it work, you don't even have the right equipment right now." You answered, honestly.
"Don't worry about that. Just let me touch you." He reassured, continuing his conquest of your body.
You tilted your neck up, allowing him to return tasting you once again. He lifted your shirt exposing your skin to the air and making your nipples harden as he made a decending path with his lips between your breasts. His breath was hot and his metal parts were foreign, you wondered if he could feel how your heart was pounding while he kissed your heaving chest. As he moved even lower you could feel one of his hands gripping your thighs, lifting gently while you were firmly pressed against the wall until he was the only thing supporting your entire weight.
When he set your legs on his broad shoulders you knew exactly what he wanted to do, you carelessly moaned out loud when his lips touched your waistband while he lifted your skirt above your hips. The only thing between you and him being a thin layer of fabric that in spite of your doubts about the situation was growing a small yet noticeable wet spot, his proximity to your most intimate parts made a blush rise to your cheeks and the position of your legs on his shoulders made it impossible for you to follow your urge to turn away.
With one swipe of the titanium nails the fabric was torn and there was nothing at all to stop him, your legs shook as his hot breath warmed your already burning skin. Afraid of making any noise you put a hand over your mouth, muffling the sounds you would have made when his lips gently touched your folds into a shaking exhale through your nose.
That first long lick running from top to bottom of your slit had you gripping your mouth tighter, trying and failing to catch the whine that shot out.
"You taste sweeter than I thought you would." He commented, only pausing for a moment to pant out before hungrily diving back in. "So much sweeter."
As warm as his body was, the touch of his metal jaw still felt cold and took some getting used to. You had never imagined he could eat you out like this but the moving of his tongue and the feeling of his steel hands on your thighs was starting to feel more and more natural as time went on.
Raiden growled low as his tongue plunged even deeper, sending vibrations straight through your core. The bridge of his nose rubbed on your clit making you want to roll your hips forward just to get a little more friction on it.
The grunts and groans he made while devouring you were almost as loud as your own, you wondered how he hadn't drowned yet without stopping to breathe for even a second. It was possible he was enjoying this even more than you were, you wanted to look down and see but instead kept a hand over your mouth hoping to hide the embarrassing faces you might make in the heat of pleasure.
The second his thumb touched your clit you jumped, it moved slow at first while finding the right rhythm that wouldn't scratch you but before long he rubbed fast enough to have your legs jerking in every direction. You could feel it creeping up faster than you could handle, every rapid circle his thumb drew over your clit and every firm pump of his tongue forced you to the edge.
"Raiden slow down, I'm gonna..." you gasped out though you could hardly breathe.
Without responding or complying he kept going at his electric pace, making your body go stiff as you twitched around him. Your mind went blank, your vision blurred while you lost what little control of your body that you had left. Putting your hands on both sides of the closet walls, trying to ground yourself while washed over and took you completely.
Even after you came that wasn't enough to stop him, your exhausted body still spasmed while he drank up every drop that dribbled out of your overstimulated pussy. When you found that you could breathe again all that would come out of your mouth was shameless moans, as you tried to suck in the hot stuffy air in that confined space.
Running a hand through his already tossed blond hair as he cleaned the mess he made out of you, finding the boldness to look down you found his unfocused eyes glowing with just a hint of that feral red while he shamelessly slurped you up. He could be such a little monster sometimes, but he was all yours right now.
For a good long while you were convinced Raiden was never even going to stop for air, almost sparking up a second orgasm before you had to interrupt him.
"Raiden... Raiden, breathe." You called, almost laughing.
Eventually having to pull him back by his hair to get his attention, even then he continued to lick the traces of you of his lips while flashing his wicked smile.
"You're gonna drown." You teased.
"Don't worry, I could do this all day." He reassured, placing kissed on your thighs before setting your legs back on the floor.
He placed firm feverish kisses all the way back up your torso to your face, letting his hands roam wildly like touching you was going to charge his batteries somehow. Not even caring about the little scratches he'd leave when you roughly grabbed at your body, just perfectly content in letting him use you to sate his appetite.
He guided your hand to a small gap in the armor on his back where you felt around until you found a single exposed wire. When your fingertips met it and his hips twitched forward there was no more explanation needed, immediately you started to play with it while savoring the various reactions you would get from Raiden. His body would twist and writhe while his eyes crossed and his hips snapped forward in a distorted muscle memory.
It was scary in a way to have him acting so unpredictably, when you had no idea what happened if you played with the mystery wire too much. A horrifying thought crept into your head that it could make him malfunction and you would have to explain to everyone how you broke Raiden.
"Don't stop, don't stop." He begged over and over, gritting his teeth and whining through them.
His arms caged your body, claws digging into the wall behind you while his chest heaved. Again he firmly pressed his lips against yours, this time sharing the lingering taste of your own sticky sweetness. With a series of wet breathy open mouthed kisses you felt his panting even out and his overheated body begin to cool while he came down from his peak.
What should have been an intimate moment of basking in your collective afterglow was rudely interrupted by your phone ringing from down on the floor where you must have dropped it earlier. Naturally you hung up, thinking that would be the end of it until Raiden also got a buzz from his radio.
"Shit, how long have we been gone?" He asked.
Taking a look at your phone and seeing the long list of notifications from everyone at Maverick asking where you were, you groaned not even having the right to be annoyed at them.
"A little too long." You answered. "Everyone thinks we just went home."
"If they already think that, we could just..." Raiden suggested.
"No way." You replied.
"Why not? We're already in trouble." He pressed.
"Because we'd get caught on the way out." You answered.
"You're talking to someone who sneaks around for a living." That was a good point, one you couldn't exactly argue with.
"Okay fine." Rolling your eyes as you finally agreed. "But I bet you twenty bucks we get caught before we even get to the lobby."
"What do I get if we don't get caught?" He asked his voice taking a comically suggestive tone.
You teasingly answered while trying not to snicker. "Wouldn't you like to know, Mr lightning bolt."

first part | previous part | next part
NOTE: TBH a while ago I considered putting titles for these chapters but then I realized I am pretty, pretty bad at titles. Would you guys want titles anyways?? For convenience I would still probably have the numbers be the main thing to click on but for AO3 and the top of the page it would be labeled???
I broke down the votes on tumblr for the poll combining the votes of the tumblr poll and here :D! Here’s a link: here
I know links are not. really usable on ao3 though so I’ll copy and paste the breakdown in the bottom note.
The tldr version is: 1) Johnny 2) Bi-han 3) Liu Kang 4) Tomas 5) Raiden 6) Kenshi 7) Kuai Liang 8) Kung Lao
I’ll reveal what these votes are being used for when we get to the part when this was important LMAO <3 ty all for voting!!
FROM THE EYES OF ONE WHO TRIES TO FIGURE CERTAIN THINGS OUT
Today was the first day in a while that you did not awaken to see the sun.
Opening your eyes, it felt like a dream to awaken to a room lit up with the soft glow of the crystal lamp. For a moment, your heart raced. Your brain panicked at the unfamiliar feeling of waking up in a spot that wasn’t your room or the Wu Shi academy. Then, you felt a sense of calm fall over yourself as your brain remembered that you were simply in Outworld for the tournament.
You sat up, feeling your body slowly come to life. Joints popped, muscles stretched. You drowsily rubbed your eyes as you swung your legs over the side of the bed. After a deep inhale, you forced yourself to get up. A yawn left your lips as you walked over to the small closet you had unpacked your extra clothes into. You undressed, and as you did so you took a moment to pause as you noted the mirror hanging on the wall right next to the closet.
You hadn’t noticed it until now.
Swallowing your nerves, you turned so your back was to the mirror. You didn’t really have mirrors in the Fire Temple. You supposed it could have been chalked up to a lack of vanity of those living there, you never really questioned or cared. But all that mattered was that you rarely saw the mark on your back.
It was a scar centered right between your shoulder blades. It was shaped as if someone had struck you with a leopard fist. Then, thin lines spread out from the mark in all directions, stopping conveniently just before it would be exposed with the clothes you wore. It was as if it were like veins and arteries and your scar was the heart. You let out a sigh as you reached back to trace the lines before gently brushing the main scar.
It felt rough compared to the rest of your skin, it was like comparing gravel to dirt. It was probably from the lack of care you put into it, but you had a feeling no matter how much care you would have put into it, nothing would cause it to get any less rough. The mark was notably lighter than the rest of your skin, the edges of it slightly pink before it faded into your regular skin color.
No one knew you had these marks. At least, you assumed not, you’ve never shown anyone you had these. It took you long to find out you even had these marks. It was only until one night you had stayed over at Madam Bo’s and noticed the mirror she had hung in the guest room you had been staying in. You figured it wasn’t important to tell anyone, especially when you didn’t know the origin of it. It’d only serve to make you seem more suspicious.
Your fingers brushed the mark again. You’ve always assumed this was from your current life, before the memory loss. The last reminder of your past before it was all wiped away when you awoke in those fields near the Fire Temple. Your lips pulled downwards into a frown. You’ve never put much thought into who you were before you lost your memory.
Did anyone know or care who you used to be?
You huffed, knowing the answer. It was doubtful that anyone did. Maybe this wasn’t even from this life, maybe it was from your past life. You wouldn’t know from your memories, they never included details of scars or anything of the sort. You shifted your weight as you considered it. No, maybe it wasn’t, you concluded. You don’t know how you would even retain a scar from a past life.
You tore your eyes away from the mark and tugged your clothes on. It was too much to think about for something that was probably so insignificant. You turned to look at your back in the mirror once you were dressed again.
It was concealed once more. Out of sight, out of mind.
Your stomach grumbled, reminding you that you needed fuel for today. Where would you even find food? You pondered over the food you could potentially get, and that’s under the assumption that you even had time to eat. You stood, staring at the door for a moment pondering over this new found dilemma before realizing you were wasting more time by thinking about it. You shook your head and walked out of your room.
Unlike your room, the rest of the palace was fairly open with windows and spots where the light could filter in. The palace felt like it was bathed in a soft glow of light. It felt almost like a dream to stand among the light.
How lucky you were that you could be here to witness this majesty in person. You took a moment to close your eyes and just bask in the atmosphere of the palace. Just standing here made you feel regal. It made you consider how the palace looked on the outside, was it just as beautiful as it was on the inside? You felt like you understood why the royalty enjoyed lavishness, just a bit. Who wouldn’t enjoy waking up to this view?
The tapping of heels caught your attention, snapping you out of your reverie. Loud, commanding and with purpose. You turned to look over, down the hallway to see who the source was. You blinked as you recognized Princess Kitana walking down the hall. You stared for a moment, thinking of how funny it was that you encountered her again like this.
Your heartbeat got louder again, and you recognized the feeling. A memory? Again? As the world faded away you could only question why Outworld was unlocking so many memories for you.
You opened your eyes to see a crowd of people around you. The faces of the people you saw felt hazy in your mind. You could vaguely recognize them, but it felt all too peculiar. Glancing to your right, you noted how you were once again standing next to Raiden and Liu Kang. It seems you were by their side more often than you had expected.
“Are you alright, Lord Raiden?” The words fell from your lips as you watched the uneasy look on the thunder god’s face. You saw him raise a hand to his head and your eyebrows raised. You crossed your arms and glanced to Liu Kang and noted his own worried look.
“Strange visions.” Raiden muttered, his gaze looking off into the distance. You heard the little crackle of glass. Raiden grabbed his amulet, something that made your stomach twist and turn at the sight, and you all saw the fractured glass.
“Your amulet!” Liu Kang exclaimed. Your breath hitched upon seeing the cracks.
“It is nothing.” Raiden dismissed, though you could hear the hint of worry that lingered in his tone. “The tournament begins.” He continued, turning his gaze to the front as he placed the amulet back upon his chest. Liu Kang followed his example, turning his attention to the proceedings. Your gaze, however, stayed on Raiden for a few moments more.
A pit of dread formed in your stomach. Father would have probably called Raiden out on his lies. Should you follow in his footsteps? You shifted your weight from one foot to the other. Perhaps not, he was closer to the god than you were. Taking one last glance at the cracked amulet, you took in a deep breath. Then, you turned your attention to the front.
Monks walked in from the left and right sides before the fighting arena. From behind them, you spotted the Outworlders walking in. An old man, a tarkatan, and two Edenians. You blinked as you locked eyes with the Edenian dressed in blue.
Princess Kitana.
Your eyes narrowed, giving her a challenging glare. The princess, in return, seemed to steel her own resolve.
No matter what this tournament throws at you, be it princesses, tarkatans, or sorcerers, you were determined to help Earthrealm win.
“Is something interesting, Earthrealmer?” Kitana inquired, snapping you out of your rather short memory. A perfect eyebrow raised as she came to a few feet away from you. You blinked, mulling over the sudden question before you realized that she must have found it odd that you were staring. You forgot you even were staring, too lost in thought.
“I was just thinking about how I encountered you again in this hallway, odd isn’t it?” You replied, lying. There was a moment where Kitana returned the stare, her face showcasing she was a bit perplexed by your answer. Perhaps she wasn’t ready for the answer you provided. It was rather mundane and casual. Were you performing a faux pas by being too casual with royalty?
“I wouldn’t consider it so odd, I take this route all the time.” Kitana replied, entertaining your conversation. You felt relief flood through you after her words, realizing you had not tarnished both your and Earthrealm’s reputation. That, and she had not caught on to your lie. A small, polite smile appeared on her face, the very same one she had shown you yesterday. It was all too perfect, too practiced in your opinion, but you would rather see that smile than a disapproving look. “Would you like to accompany me to the Great Hall?”
“It would be an honor.” You replied, sending her a smile of your own. Yours was less practiced, just a bit more honest. You, after all, didn’t have as much practice with sending polite smiles as the princess did. You only could hope it was enough for her. She nodded, seeming to be pleased by your response. You joined her side, a familiar feeling for something you had only done once.
Though the memory was short, your mind raced with the small details you remembered. This wasn’t your first tournament. You had fought in at least one other before in your past life. Though from the memory it seemed much, much more severe. Then, there was the other detail that was immediately nagging at you. The amulet.
Liu Kang had called it Raiden’s amulet. Was it mere coincidence that in this life he wielded the very same amulet? You chewed on your cheek as you mulled over the question. Liu Kang had mentioned how Raiden had been a natural with it. Had that been simply a statement of skill, or was it a tease of how he actually used to wield lightning and had an amulet like that?
No. That was impossible. Liu Kang was simply a demigod, how would he know anything of a past life? He had even speculated that your visions were of another world, not of a past life.
You were just overthinking it, surely. And yet, even with this confirmation in your head, the dread building inside you did not abate. You couldn’t tell if it was due to the fact that you didn’t even believe your own thoughts or that other nagging feeling you couldn’t quite place.
“How confident are you in your student?” Kitana inquired, peering over to you, breaking you away from your thoughts. Her eyes scanned you, as if she could glean how well the training went from your attitude alone. Or maybe, she was trying to analyze that pondering look you had. Her lips pursed. You smiled at the inquiry, feeling a surge of pride. You pushed the thoughts you had away, trying to lift your spirits.
“I’m very confident in Raiden.” You replied, hands clasped behind your back. Both from the pride you held in Raiden and the position, your back straightened a bit more. “He was a lovely student. He was very diligent in his training and very receptive to feedback. Not to mention, he was very adaptive.” You sang his praises, knowing very well that you and the others would have to hype Raiden up since he was far too humble.
“I see.” Kitana hummed, seeming to mull over your words as if it were like a fine wine which needed a review. “I hope we can see if he lives up to your expectations, then.” She commented. Not necessarily antagonizing, but you could sense the challenge within her words. You nodded, not taking the slight rivalry personally. It only made sense.
“I can assure you that he will.” You countered, indulging a bit in the challenge. An eyebrow raised at your words and a glimmer appeared in her eyes. It reminded you of the very same look she sent Johnny Cage last night, it was pure amusement. You smiled a bit wider, holding back a chuckle. “I would not underestimate him despite what his humble nature may lead you to believe.”
“We shall see.” The princess spoke after a beat. “I hope your high praises weren’t for naught.” She told you as the two of you arrived to the Great Hall. Her words hung in the air, though polite you could tell she was still very much rooting for the downfall of Raiden. Again, understandable, but you did have to commend Kitana for her attempt to be cordial.
The two of you had arrived rather early, so only a few people were around. Not only that, but it seemed that most seemed to be milling about trying to shake off the drowsiness that clung to them like a wet blanket. Had it not been for the conversation with the princess, you felt like you also would suffer from the same condition. With a nod, Kitana walked off, leaving you to your own devices.
“I see you have become somewhat familiar with princess Kitana.” Liu Kang spoke as you walked over. For the moment, your small group composed of the fire god himself, you, and the two former farmhands. You nodded at his comment before letting your gaze drift across the group.
Liu Kang, as usual, was pristine. After all these years you had no idea whether the fire god even slept or not, and if he did, you’ve never seen it. He always seemed ready and prepared. You couldn’t deny that you were at least a little envious of it. Raiden was prim and proper too. Not too surprising, considering how he was rather diligent in his routine. You could sense the nerves radiating from him though, and you had a sense that his nerves were the main cause of his alertness. Kung Lao, on the other hand, seemed to still have a few traces of drowsiness left.
“I wouldn’t consider it as me becoming more familiar with her.” You corrected the fire god, crossing your arms. You pursed your lips as you considered what you would call it. “She just entertained some conversation, I’m certain she was simply being polite rather than actual interest.” You said, shrugging. You didn’t mention how she was probably more interested in the way you were lost in thought around her. Liu Kang’s eyebrow arched at your statement, but he seemed to not continue his line of thought.
A member of the royal house staff walked by, offering some breakfast styled hors d'oeuvres to you. You smiled and grabbed some for the group. You offered the small portions to the group. Both Liu Kang and Raiden refused. Luckily for you, Kung Lao was more than eager to eat the portions you didn’t want. It seems he’s not as tired as you thought.
As you bit into the food, you felt a bit better and your worries melted away for now. There was still that annoying nagging voice whispering in the back of your head trying to make you remember something, but now it was much more quiet. It was like you placed a tarp over it, muffling it’s presence.
Maybe you were just hungry and over exaggerating everything while you were famished. The voice, faintly, yelled at you that you weren’t, but you kicked it away. You would have time to think about it later. You didn’t want to worry others by being oddly distant during the tournament. You wouldn’t know how to excuse yourself properly.
Soon enough, Kenshi joined your side. It seemed he took the extra time to make himself presentable as you could not see a hint of sleepiness from him. You nodded towards him and pointed out the hors d'oeuvres to him. He nodded to you in acknowledgement before slinking off to grab some for himself before he rejoined the group.
“Feeling better?” Kenshi inquired, peering over to you. His voice was discreet, trying not to clue in the others on your conversation. You looked at him, raising your eyebrows as you tried to interpret his question. When you continued to stare at him, he let out a small sigh. “Your headaches yesterday.” He told you, and you let out a small “oh” at the realization. “You seemed better at the banquet yesterday.”
“I am feeling better, I suppose I just took the whole interrealm travel worse than the rest of you.” You said, which was not entirely wrong. It was a little ironic though, you reflected, how you a supposed Edenian struggled the most in Outworld. You paused for a moment as your mind lingered on his last comment. He had noticed how you were at the banquet yesterday? Last you recalled, he had been eating at an entirely different table. The attention he had paid to you made you feel…touched. Your smile grew just a bit more. “Thank you for worrying.”
“It’s nothing.” Kenshi dismissed, nodding. His lips curled into a soft smile before it fell as he set his eyes upon something just past you. Raising an eyebrow, you turned to look at who or what had caused him to lose his little smile.
Ah. Johnny Cage.
“Man, I know we woke up early at the Wu Shi, but did we really have to wake up at the crack of dawn for this?” Johnny said as he joined your little group. You watched as he expertly snatched a few breakfast hors d'oeuvres from a passing staff member. He shouted out a causal thank you before turning to the group. “A man like me needs some beauty sleep, you know.” He complained before popping some food into his mouth.
“Empress Sindel would like the tournament fights to happen earlier in the day so the rest of the day is free for you all to explore and mingle with others.” Liu Kang explained, eyeing Johnny Cage. His hands folded together neatly. “I too, encourage the rest of you to explore Sun Do and its wonders. Just remember to not get too drawn in.”
“Got it, chief.” Johnny Cage nodded, though his eyes were clearly somewhere else already. You sighed and sent him a glare to get him back in line. “Hey, I’ve been sticking to my word, teach!” His hands flew up into the air. “I’m allowed to admire the merchandise, aren’t I?”
“I think you’re doing more than just admiring, Johnny.” Raiden pointed out, looking over to Johnny. The rest of the group seemed to agree, leading to the actor rolling his eyes.
“Everybody’s a critic…” The American mumbled as he sulkily turned away from you guys. You let out a small laugh as you pat his back to comfort him. You received a pout in return, though you could tell that his pout was more so on the playful side.
After a bit more of a wait, the princesses made their entrance with the Empress. Much like before, the crowd parted to allow them to cross. Silence hung in the air so their footsteps were more pronounced. Once they took their seats and got settled, Sindel stood up once more.
“Welcome back to the tournament.” Sindel announced, her arms spread with a cordial smile on her lips. You watched as Raiden stepped up to the front of the crowd, singling himself out. “You proved to fight well yesterday, young man.” The Empress said, turning her attention to look at Raiden. You watched as her eyes narrowed just slightly. “Let’s see if you can continue to impress.” She sat down and crossed her legs. “General Shao, whom have you chosen as our next competitor?”
“Your Majesty,” The General began, walking out from the side. Your lips pressed together as you focused your attention on the man. You still felt uneasy around him, it was the mixture of unsettling memories and the attitude he showcased yesterday before the fight. “I have chosen Reiko, my second in command.”
From the hallway, you spotted a figure emerging. The man, who you assumed was Reiko, marched forth. He looked more like he was going into war rather than into a friendly tournament. You wondered silently if that was the attitude of all the soldiers in Outworld or if it was just him. You recognized him as the man who stuck to General Shao’s side during the banquet last night.
“As a boy, Reiko was orphaned during the Katallah War.” General Shao announced as Reiko continued forward. “Though captured, his spirit remained unbroken. He scratched, clawed, and survived. After the war, I took him in. Molded him into the perfect soldier. Few others are as well versed in the ways of war.”
Your eyes went back to General Shao and you had to restrain yourself from raising your eyebrows. General Shao didn’t strike you as the type of person to take someone in, nevermind even being the fatherly type. Your eyes returned back to Reiko as you wondered if he had a fine childhood after being taken in.
He certainly seemed like a hardened soldier now.
Coming to a stop a few feet away from Raiden, Reiko turned away from him. Instead of greeting his opponent, he began to shadowbox, demonstrating his forms and skills. And here you thought Johnny was flashy. Raiden did not appear to be cowed by the little show which was a relief to you. After a spinning kick, the man finally turned to face Earthrealm’s champion.
“In whose army have you served?” Reiko interrogated, staring Raiden down. An attitude of being unimpressed rolled off of him in waves. You crossed your arms at this, narrowing your eyes just a bit. You could tell he did not take your student seriously, not even in the slightest. “In what wars have you fought?”
“I have done neither.” The former farmhand admitted, his softer tone contrasting with the second in command’s harsher one.
“Then you are woefully unprepared, Earthrealmer.” Reiko sneered. He lifted a hand to point directly at his opponent. “This will be your last battlefield.” He declared. A mutual understanding seemed to be in order as both of the men settled into fighting stances. Reiko bounced in his with a sense of barely restrained energy while Raiden was much calmer, much like how you had taught him.
Sindel called out for the fight to begin, leading Reiko to charge forward. His strikes were fast and aggressive, you could tell from the intensity behind them he was aiming to end this quickly and brutally. You were suddenly grateful for the training you had given Raiden as you watched him anticipate this and go more defensively.
You winced as you watched Raiden, at one point, get grabbed by the soldier and slammed into the ground. You had to admit, Reiko was ruthless and knew how to use his strength well. He was a grappler, something that you hadn’t trained your students well against. You could only hope that Liu Kang taught him good counters.
Still, despite the initial worry, Reiko seemed to lose steam against Raiden’s defensive tactics. This allowed the champion to gain the upper hand, turning the tide and turning the momentum of the battle against the soldier. It didn’t take very long after that occurred for Raiden to emerge victorious.
“Felled by a simple farmer.” Raiden spoke as the soldier laid defeated upon the ground. Your lips curled upwards at the small taunt. Reiko deserved that for underestimating the man. The electric user turned around to face the Empress and bowed. You watched as General Shao huffed upon seeing his second in command fail.
“Congratulations on another victory, young man.” Sindel commended, though you could sense an underlying sense of irritation behind her words. It seems she thought that Reiko would be capable of conquering Raiden. She stood and addressed the crowd this time. “We shall adjourn once more at first light tomorrow.”
Much like yesterday, the crowd dispersed quickly. Though this time, you could see how a few more people lingered just a touch longer to stare and whisper about Raiden. It seemed he was making waves already.
“And that’s another victory under your belt, Thunder Lad!” Johnny celebrated as the champion rejoined your group. Though he had a smile that told you he was grateful for cheers, you could have sworn you saw a flash of irritation at the nickname. You let out a silent chuckle at it. You recalled him mentioning how he hated that name, but you didn’t think it was that bad.
“Indeed, you are doing well.” Liu Kang spoke, nodding. “Many seem to be pleased at the display of strength you are showing.” A pleased smile was upon the fire god’s lips. Looking at the group, he gestured to the hallway. “The day is free for you all to explore and mingle with others. Although not a banquet, Empress Sindel will be offering dinner once more tonight.”
You all nod, looking towards each other and beginning to discuss their various plans. Then, you felt a hand settle on your shoulder. You look over to see Liu Kang looking at you. The same pleased smile was present on his lips, though you could sense something else lingering there.
“May we speak privately first?” Liu Kang inquired. Your eyebrows raised. As the question processed in your head, you felt a small sense of dread begin to build. He didn’t appear to be upset or overly serious, but the idea that Liu Kang needed to ask you to speak privately made you worry. What could he possibly need from you?
“Certainly.” You reply after perhaps a bit too long of a silence. You and Liu Kang waved to the group before walking off towards the outside exit. You both made your way towards a quaint bench in the garden outside. It was quiet here, peaceful. You swallowed your nerves as you sat down next to the fire god. You put on your best smile, hoping it was not obviously nervous. “What did you wish to discuss?”
“I just wanted to check if you were feeling alright, first.” Liu Kang responded, a gentle look on his face. You nodded, and it seemed that the god was pleased by the response. “Good, I didn’t get a chance to ask you after you went to get air yesterday.” You remembered that clearly, mostly because you had been only slightly avoiding him. You didn’t want to make too much of a fuss, but then again, here you were. It did feel nice to know that the fire god had still wished to check up on you.
“I’m alright, Lord Liu Kang.” You replied, your hands folding together as you relaxed just a touch more. “Is that all you wished to ask?” You inquired, tilting your head to the side just a bit. You had a feeling it wasn’t, seeing how he wished to speak privately. You doubted he would ask to speak alone if it were just that.
“No.” He said, confirming your suspicions. You straightened up a bit more, bracing yourself for the other question he was about to send your way. You saw him pause for a moment as he looked at you, observing your reaction. He leaned in a tiny bit more and his voice dropped to a whisper. “I wanted to ask again, are you having visions again?”
You hated how your body betrayed your thoughts. Immediately you stiffened up and you were certain your face contorted into a look of nerves and shock. You looked away as you forced yourself to relax, looking over the peaceful garden. You had basically given away the answer by body language alone, so you figured there was no point in lying about it this time.
“I am.” You confirmed, still not looking at Liu Kang. You were, for the time being, afraid of looking at him. You don’t know how many of your guarded secrets you’d let out if you told him. “It’s mostly memories of a different looking Outworld.” Your fingers drummed on your knee as you stared straight ahead, looking at the wonders of the garden. “It’s so…jarring.”
“I see.” Liu Kang said after a moment, seeming to take in your words. Before he could speak again, you decided to cut him off.
“Do you think an Outworld like that exists, one that is filled with more bloodshed and tyranny, or is it simply visions?” You inquired, testing the waters a bit. Maybe, just maybe if he thought so too, you wouldn’t be thought of as crazy if you did tell him. You turned your head just slightly to see his reaction.
He was deep in thought, his lips just slightly pursed as he seemed to mull over your words. His eyebrows were furrowed the tiniest bit. After a moment, he shook his head, and your heart sank.
“It is…unlikely.” Liu Kang spoke, the last word hanging in the air. You looked away from the god, closing your eyes. Perhaps you were truly alone in thinking that a past life existed that you lived. His hand covered yours in a comforting motion. You took in a deep breath, feeling your insides churn. Liu Kang probably misinterpreted your expression of unease from your visions. “Do not fret, that Outworld does not exist.”
Anymore, you finished in your head.
“I know.” You said, uncertain whether your words were lies or not. Were you just being crazy by believing that you were seeing a past life? Not even Liu Kang thought it had existed. Still, despite your uncertainty you felt the comfort of his hand. His hand squeezed yours gently, as if trying to anchor you.
“I am sorry that you are plagued with these visions. If I could, I would remove them from you.” Liu Kang told you, his words feeling like a soothing balm. Even though his words were meant to be comforting, a stupid part of you whispered in your head telling you that you didn’t want that. You couldn’t be getting these memories for no reason.
You’d figure out the reason alone if you needed to.
“Thank you for the sentiment.” You told him, opening your eyes and sending him your best smile. He smiled back, his smile much warmer than yours. You envied it, how could he look like the sun? You could feel your smile grow a little more, and you felt your face heat up for a reason you didn’t quite understand at the moment. You just felt warm. It wasn’t too odd, you supposed, seeing as Liu Kang was the fire god, so you pushed the odd, light feeling away. “Is that all you wanted to talk about?” You asked after doing just that.
“Yes.” Liu kang told you with that same smile. After one last squeeze he released your hand. He stood up, seeming to be content after your small conversation. “I will let you explore Sun Do now, it is truly a prosperous place.” He nodded at you, looking at you fondly for one more moment before walking off. You sat there a moment longer, letting the conversation sink in a bit more.
You sighed as you leaned forward and rested your forearms on your thighs. You folded your hands and pressed them against your forehead, closing your eyes. You didn’t know what to make of the conversation you just had. The memories…visions…whatever they were, they didn’t feel fake. They felt too lived in, too real.
Perhaps a past life was beyond comprehension for even a god. You doubted Liu Kang would lie to you if it were real, especially about something you’ve had for so long and was so important to you. As you continued to sit there deep in thought, you barely registered the footsteps that was headed your way until you noticed a shadow fall upon you.
“There you are, I’ve been looking for you.” You blinked as you registered the man standing in front of you as Rain. You sent him a perplexed look, but nodded to indicate he should go on. A friendly smile appeared on his face. “You were very intrigued by the prospect of the Imperial Academy, yes?” He inquired, and you slowly nodded. “Would you like to accompany me to see it tomorrow after the fight?”
“I would be delighted.” You said without even thinking. A grin appeared on your face and for a moment you forgot about your worries, too excited over the idea of seeing a school full of magic. Your answer seemed to please the High Mage, and he nodded with satisfaction.
“Good. Perhaps you may learn a bit to further your own abilities.” He said.
“I suppose if there was a place to help learn my limits and how to push them, it would be a school dedicated to magic.” You said, nodded. The smile on Rain’s face remained. It was quite nice how you found someone who seemed enthusiastic over magic.
“I shall see you tomorrow then.” He told you. Then, after that moment, he disappeared into the gardens. You were left feeling a bit happier. You let out a small sigh as you got up from the bench. You’ve had enough of sitting out here for now. That, and you supposed today would be a good start to finding gifts for the Lin Kuei trio.
You walked back to the Great Hall, intending to go to Sun Do through the entrance. You stepped in only to be surprised to see Raiden still standing there. He appeared to be milling about. Once he spotted you, the former farmhand seemed to light up and made a beeline for you.
“You’re still here?” You remarked. Your eyebrows raised as you scanned Raiden, trying to perceive the reason why he stuck around before he spoke. You watched as his smile turned just a tad more shy and there was just a barely perceptible dusting of pink along his cheeks.
“Yes.” Raiden confirmed, nodding. He seemed to pause for a moment to consider his words. His head tilted downwards, his hat brim obscuring his face. Then, another moment passed before he lifted his head to show his face which seemed a touch more confident. “I wanted to wait for you to go see if you would like to go explore Sun Do together.”
“You didn’t have to wait for me.” You replied, laughing a bit in surprise. You crossed your arms as you looked at the man. You were touched at the fact that he had wanted to wait for you. “I’d be honored to accompany the Earthrealm champion, though.” You told him, teasing him just a little bit. The smile on his face only seemed to get brighter at your words. “Maybe you can even help me.”
“With what?” Raiden inquired, now walking by your side. You both made your way down the hallway side by side.
“I planned on buying some gifts for Bi-Han, Tomas, and Kuai Liang.” You explained, and in turn the farmhand nodded. “It’s not everyday that one gets to travel to Outworld, after all, and since they didn’t get to come I figured it would be nice to give them some gifts.”
“Why don’t the Lin Kuei participate?” Raiden asked, a thoughtful look on his face. Your steps faltered for a moment as you considered his question. Why didn’t they participate, you tilted your head, considering the question. You’ve never quite thought about it.
“I guess I don’t know.” You replied after your little moment. Your footsteps resumed at their pace. “It has probably something to do with the tournament rules, I suppose.” You carded a hand through your hair. “I’ve never really questioned it.”
How much else have you never questioned? There was so much you’ve never really taken into account. Maybe you should start questioning things. It wasn’t good to be ignorant, after all.
Sun Do was still as pretty as ever. Banners, lanterns, and other decor lined the streets. Music filled the air and many of the citizens laughed and danced along the streets. Vendors shouted out their wares, and you listened in to see if any of it would be of use to you. You grinned as you passed by them all.
“It’s very lively out here.” You mused as you turned to look back at Raiden after a while of walking. To your surprise, he was gone. You stopped and scanned the crowd to look for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. Frowning you made your way to the side to see if you could find him better. After a few minutes of searching, you sighed as you failed to see him.
“May I help you?” A voice asked. Stiffening up, you turned to see a Naknadan woman standing within the store. She peered at you with wide eyes as she put away various weapons with her arms. At first, you were about to dismiss it, then you looked closer at the store. It was a weapons shop. You took a moment to look around, then noted the collection of karambits lined along the wall.
“Ah, yes.” You said as you eyed the collection. You stepped forward to get a closer look, observing the fine craftsmanship that went into every single one. It was then that you found it. A karambit with the blade a silver white. On the handle were intricate designs etched into almost akin to smoke. It was as long as Tomas’ personal karambit too, so he wouldn’t have to adapt. The safety ring was gold. “How much is this one?” You inquired, gesturing to the blade.
She told you the price, giving you a sunny smile. You reached into your bag, grabbing the money that Liu Kang had given you prior to the trip. She peered at you curiously, inquiring what the blade was for. Enthusiastically, you told her that the blade was a gift for a friend.
“Would you like for me to engrave something on it? I can engrave it upon the safety ring.” The lady asked. You lit up at the idea, smiling. With one arm, she plucked the blade from the wall and placed it upon a table. Then with a few other of her arms, she grabbed various tools from another table nearby. “What would you like?”
“Have strength, Tomas. From,” You spoke your name. The Naknadan woman nodded. Using another arm, she grabbed some glasses and placed it upon her face. You watched with awe as she precisely engraved the message you had said onto the ring. Then, she delicately placed into a velvet lined box to which she wrapped up and handed to you. “Thank you.”
“I hope whoever you gift that to will enjoy it.”
“I’m certain he will.” You said, turning to exit the shop. To your delight, you spotted Raiden standing outside the shop, looking puzzled and searching around the crowd. Making sure to keep your footsteps light, you snuck up upon the man. With a small smirk you placed a hand upon his shoulder, making him jump. “It seems I have a knack for sneaking up on you.”
“Yes…Yes you do.” Raiden said as he recovered from the little scare you had provided. You let out a laugh, squeezing his shoulder. After his recovery, he peered at the box you held in your hand. “Where did you wander off to?”
“Well, after I noticed I had lost you in the crowd, I stepped to the side to try and look for you.” You told him before turning your head to look back at the shop you had stepped out of. “I happened to step inside there and happened to find a gift for Tomas.” You explained, lifting up the box and showing it off.
“I suppose that us splitting up was a good thing, then.” Raiden mused as he looked curiously at the box you held. He sent you a bright smile. “Would you like to continue to tour around Sun Do?” He asked you, and you nodded in return. You took your hand away from his shoulder and put away the box. As you turned back, you saw Raiden looking at you before he cleared his throat and turning away.
“What’s on your mind?” You asked. raising an eyebrow at the odd way he had reacted.
“Oh, well…” Raiden trailed off, still looking away before he looked at you once more, forcing himself to look you in the eye. Then, gently, he took your hand. For a moment, you wondered if he used his amulet on accident, because you felt electricity surge through your veins. In your surprise, your face heated up. “I thought it’d be best if we held hands, just so we don’t get separated again.”
“I guess that’s pretty smart.” You said, still feeling your face flush at the unexpected contact. You looked away, from him as you cleared your own throat. Surely he must have accidentally used his amulet, that’s why you were feeling so odd. It’s not like you haven’t held anyone else’s hand, so why did this feel so…different? You felt his hand squeeze yours softly as he tugged at it.
“Then let’s go.”
The rest of the day exploring Sun Do was quite fun. Despite all of the exploring you did all afternoon, there was still plenty left to discover. You decided you would have to spend a few more days to check it all out, especially since you had not found gifts to give both Bi-Han and Kuai Liang just yet. There were plenty of things you could have given them, surely, but it didn’t feel right.
Dinner went quite well as well. The food, though not as bountiful as the banquet, was still quite delicious. You had witnessed Kung Lao in action, he devoured enough for multiple men alone. That night, you returned back to your room quite satisfied.
It wasn’t until later when you crept back out into the dead of night. Tanya, once more, assisted you to the Hanging Gardens in a dutiful way. With a raised eyebrow, she inquired whether you always stayed up this late, or was it just the travel? With a friendly smile, you admitted that you struggled going to sleep. With a satisfied hum, she nodded and let you roam the garden in peace.
“I’m glad you can remember our little arrangement. I would have been quite disappointed to have missed out on hearing another one of your entertaining stories.” Mileena remarked as she noticed you walking over. She sat on the same bench that you had sat on yesterday. With a smile, you noted how this evening she did not seem upset as she was yesterday.
For a moment, you wondered what had happened to her that made her so upset. Then, you remembered that it was out of line to ask her that sort of question.
“I would hate to disappoint you.” You replied as you took a seat beside her. You tilted your head up to observe the sea of stars above. The sky was so clear here, and you didn’t think you could get over the view. It was just so…beautiful. After basking in the sight, you turned to look at the princess with a smile. “Was there a particular story you would like to hear about?” You asked, mentally trying to remember all the sorts of movies your students had shown you.
“Do you have any stories of royalty?” Mileena inquired after a few short moments of thought. You hummed, closing your eyes as you thought through the movies you had seen. What story was worthy enough of a princess who was to be the empress one day? You tilted your head as your fingers drummed upon your knee.
“Well, perhaps this one will suffice…”
Mileena was very taken in by the story you told her. She listened carefully at your retelling, only stopping you here and there to ask for clarification. You supposed it was fair, since there were some cultural differences you forgot to account for at times. Still, it was pleasing to see the princess be so enraptured by the story.
“You are quite the storyteller.” The princess remarked as you finished your tale. You grinned, pleased as one should be when complimented by royalty. “Tell me, where did you hear these stories from?” She asked, she leaned just a touch closer to you, but she still kept a considerable distance from you on the bench.
“In Earthrealm there are many other storytellers, I enjoy listening to their own tales that they share. They tell them far and wide, allowing for others to hear their stories as well.” You explained, not certain how to explain movies to the princess. “I only pass on their tales, just as they would have wished for.”
“I see.” Mileena took in your words, nodding. “Perhaps in the next tournament Earthrealm hosts I shall be able to listen to these stories from the other storytellers you speak of.” She said, seeming to be intrigued by your explanation.
“Johnny Cage, one of the ones here with the rest of us, knows many stories himself.” You told her. You held back a laugh at the face the princess made upon the name Johnny Cage. You wondered what he must have said to make her react that way.
“I prefer listening to you much more than…him.” She admitted, her nose still scrunched up at the mention of the actor. She stood, stretching before looking back over to you. “Your stories continue to entertain, Earthrealmer. I would enjoy listening to you again.”
“And I would be honored to tell more of them to you, princess.” You told her, feeling quite pleased by the fact that your retelling of movies was enough to entertain royalty. “Would you like to meet back here tomorrow night?”
“Yes, that would be preferable.” Mileena confirmed, nodding. She sent you one last smile, one that was more genuine than the ones you’ve seen from her when she had to present herself as princess. “Sleep well, Earthrealmer.” She told you, then disappeared off into the night.
“Sleep well as well, princess.” You called out to her, taking a few more moments to sit in the gardens. You sighed as you thought of the things you’ve learned and experienced today. Outworld was proving to be more than you had initially expected.
What would await for you tomorrow?

“ALL TALK” KUNG LAO X COMEDIC RELEIF FEM!READER
Tumblr media
SUMMARY : Kung Lao figures out you have a crush on him and won’t stop teasing you for it
WARNINGS : (MDNI) mention of Kung Lao’s dick print and you being wet
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Kung Lao may be a lot of things but naive was not one of them. He caught on very quickly that you had a crush on him. Very quickly.
The first incident was when he had finished training. He was all sweaty and he was a little bit tired from it. When he realized you were walking up to him, he smiled. “Hey, (Y/N).”
“Hey! Kung Lao! You did good at training today.”
When you had said that, it made his raise a brow. “You were watching me?”
Thinking you were caught, you started to stumble on your words. “What? No. I totally just was like…I mean I just happened to be there and then you were there and then I was like oh, that’s a coincidence so yeah…”
Kung Lao was used to your strange behavior and your rambling so it didn’t really bother him. He just kind of laughed. “Okay…cool.”
Tumblr media
The second incident was when he was walking with you and you out of nowhere “tripped” in front of him. Kung Lao had really good reflexes and he was able to catch you.
He held your body almost in a bridal style way. “Whoa. Are you alright (Y/N)?”
You just sighed dreamily at him and you caressed the right side of his face. “I am now.”
He gave you a curious look when you said that. That’s when his warning bells of you may having a crush on him went off but you were also very strange so he pushed it aside as nothing.
Tumblr media
The third incident is when he knew. Kung Lao was talking, more so bragging that he beat Johnny in training to you.
You were trying to pay attention. Honest. But your eyes kept wandering off to his very obvious dick print and they were glued on it for awhile.
Kung Lao kept bragging. He was so in tuned with boasting himself that he didn’t realize at first where your eyes were at.
“And then he hit the ground! Hard!” He laughed at what he said. When he noticed you didn’t give him a reaction, he gave you a look. “(Y/N)?” You still didn’t respond.
Kung Lao looked to where your eyes were at and smirked when he realized. He lifted your chin and brought it so your eyes were meeting each other. “My eyes are up here.”
Embarrassed, you immediately chuckled. “Yeah. I know.”
Kung Lao looked at you. He saw that your eyes were full of love and lust.
That’s when he realized.
He wasn’t like most men. Kung Lao was very straightforward. “Aw. Do you have a crush on me, (Y/N)?”
For you, it felt like your world was ending. Everything came crashing down in an instant. You immediately pulled away from his touch. “What? Me? Like you? Ha! That’s so gross.”
“Uh huh…” He said not convinced in the slightest. “So why were you staring at-“
“Gotta go!” You quickly said before walking away from him.
Tumblr media
Sure, Kung Lao could’ve just asked you out like any reasonable man would do but no. He was going to tease you until you admitted yourself that you liked him.
For instance, now anytime Kung Lao had the chance, he’d be shirtless. He’d purposely walk in front of you while you were having a conversation with someone.
Your eyes wondered to Kung Lao, glued on his perfect frame. Liu Kang noticed this and would just shake his head at you. “You are worse than a man, (Y/N).”
You gasped at his claim. “Am not!”
That’s when Johnny had came up to the two of you. “Look! Kung Lao’s doing push ups!”
“Where?!” You immediately looked and saw there was no Kung Lao doing any push ups.
Johnny broke out in laughter and even Liu Kang couldn’t help but chuckle. You placed your hands on your hips and glared at them. “How rude!”
Tumblr media
When having dinner, you would always try to sit at your seat but Kung Lao immediately brought you into his lap.
You gasped, sitting down. “I think you should sit here instead.” He told you with a smirk.
Johnny groaned at the two of you. “Can you please not fuck at the table? I’m not into watching porn in person.”
Raiden turned to give him a look. “You’re a grown man that still watches porn?”
“Hey! Don’t try to turn this back on me!”
Kung Lao’s hand would always go under your shirt and he would rub your back soothingly. His soft touches always turned you on.
You cursed at yourself for wearing very tight grew shorts. Kung Lao went to put his hand in between your thighs but when he did, he felt that you were wet.
He smirked. His lips slightly touched your ear so he could whisper to you. “I can take care of that for you.”
You were so embarrassed that you had gotten up from him and just decided you weren’t going to eat today. You walked off from the group.
They watched you walk off and Raiden turned his attention to Kung Lao. “Can you just ask her out like a reasonable man? You’re torturing her.”
“I can’t ask someone out if they won’t admit they like me.”
Kenshi nodded at Kung Lao’s reasoning. “He has a point.”
Tumblr media
The final straw was this time. He would do this purposefully give you a lot of hugs and whisper how good you looked. He especially liked to hug you from behind.
You were in your room cleaning. You heard a knock on the door. “Come in.”
Kung Lao walked in and closed the door. He gave you a look. “Who cleans on a Wednesday?”
“I do.”
That’s when you felt Kung Lao’s arms snake around your waist and pulled you into his chest. You gasped a little. You felt his hardened member against your ass but chose not to say anything. You couldn’t even muster out words anyway.
“You look so pretty today.”
“T-thank you, Kung Lao.”
Usually Kung Lao would just kiss your cheek and leave it at that but today he was taking it a step further.
He kissed your cheek and then his lips wondered to your neck. He gave very slow and light kisses.
You moaned softly at his touches. Kung Lao rubbed your stomach. His lips went to your shoulder to kiss you there. Then he pulled you away.
When he saw you were just standing there, he snickered and couldn’t help but kiss your cheek again. “You’re so cute.”
This was starting to annoy you. You turned to him and crossed your arms. “I’m not cute.”
“Whatever you say.”
You had it. “Why are you doing this? Like what’s the point?”
Finally, you had broke. He mentally sighed out of relief. “Because I need you to admit that you like me.
“Fine! I admit it! I like you! There! I said it! Now you can leave me alone!”
When you turned to walk away from him, Kung Lao grabbed you by the arm. He turned you around and kissed you.
You stood there, a little shocked that he kissed you. You kissed him back, wrapping your arms around his neck.
His lips tasted like chapstick so you knew he was prepared to kiss you today. Kung Lao brought you even closer by your hips as he deepened the kiss.
His hands went to the back of your head and he started to kiss sloppy. He licked your bottom lip and as soon as you opened your mouth, it was over.
He shoved his tongue in your mouth and fought with your tongue. You moaned as he sloppily kissed you. You didn’t think you’d be into that but Kung Lao could make anything hot.
Kung Lao pulled away from you. He rested his forehead on yours. “I thought I was obvious but I guess I’m not. I like you too.”
“You do?”
“You think I was teasing you because I thought it was funny?” He realized what he said and then nodded. “Okay, I was teasing you because I thought it was funny.” You hit him in the chest and he chuckled. “But that’s not just why. I like you, (Y/N). I just wanted you to admit it.”
Your hands rested on his chest. You looked him in the eyes. “What do we do now?”
“Oh I have a couple things in mind.” Kung Lao started to place butterfly kisses on your neck, making you fall to the bed.
You laughed at his touch. “Lao! Stop!”
“If you wanted me in bed you could’ve just said that.”
“This is why I didn’t admit I liked you.”

A RAIDEN ONE SHOT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⚡️ raiden x gn!reader
PROMPT: just some raiden fluff!
nothing all that special! i just wanted to start off with something easy. naurr cause i never really cared about raiden until this game… they made him a cutie patootie fr
Tumblr media
— raiden first laid his eyes on you when you decided to go to madam bo’s restaurant for dinner. it was late in the day and raiden had just finished working in the fields. seeing you had him taken aback, not negatively of course. he just hadn’t seen you around. you were new.
— as time went on and you started to go more often, raiden found himself wanting to know more about you. though, he would never just walk up to you himself. oh no. he’s too nervous to do all that. it mostly takes kung lao’s teasing to get him to talk to you.
— when he first approaches you, he’s very nervous. though, he stays cool and collected. his nervousness is subsided when you both engage in small talk. you’re polite and sweet and pretty humorous, to say the least. it just makes him like you even more.
— a few months pass and you and raiden have grown closer than ever. whenever he has free time, he’ll come see you. kung lao teases you both whenever he’s with you two. though he teases you both, he adores this. he likes seeing raiden so happy and he likes that you make him happy. though, he is annoyed that raiden hasn’t made the first move yet.
— this is all halted when raiden and kung lao are chosen to fight for earth realm by lord liu kang.
— the two leave for a few months without any warning, leaving you confused and worried. there’s not a day that passes where you don’t think about the two. where’d they go? why did they leave so suddenly?
— you’re constantly asking madam bo about the boys’ whereabouts but she gives you the same answer.
— “they’re off on important business. they’ll be home soon.”
— this answer never satisfies you. you’re left wondering about them even more.
— while raiden and kung lao are away, raiden is left thinking about you. he just left you with no explanation. to be fair, he didn’t have the time to inform you. it all happened so fast. one minute they were farmers, the next they were fighting and training for lord liu kang.
— as soon as the events end, raiden and kung lao make their way back home.
— it’s almost as if time stops when you and raiden’s eyes meet. it has been so long since he’s seen you. it felt like an eternity. he couldn’t wait to hold you and tell you about his adventures. first, he owed you and apology and an explanation.
— you run over to him, engulfing him in a warm embrace. raiden stumbles back a bit, nearly falling onto the floor from your hug. he steadies himself and holds you close.
— “i’m so glad you’re back.” you mutter, nuzzling your face into his neck.
— “i have missed you so much, (name). i am sorry for being gone for so long.” he apologized, rubbing your back as he held you.
— the two of you go for a walk around the establishment and that’s where raiden tells you everything. this is all so wild to you. there are multiple realms and earth is one of them?? raiden has lightning powers?? it was all too much to fathom.
— raiden assures to you that he doesn’t use his powers unless he really has to. that you already knew. raiden was always so responsible, you doubt that he would use them for evil.
— raiden tells you that he and kung lao are helping liu kang train more warriors for earth realm.
— this makes you a bit upset. that meant that they were going to gone for a while again.
— raiden notices your reaction, feeling a bit hurt. not at your reaction but at the fact that he had to leave again. however, that prompts an idea.
— raiden reached down and placed his hands in his. “come with me.”
— you look up at him with a confused expression on your face.
— “what?” you asked, looking down at their hands.
— “we can train you to become a warrior. a fighter for earth realm.” raiden started. “that way we don’t have to leave you behind. that way you could stay with us.”
— you were shocked. you become a warrior? it definitely wasn’t like you. you have never fought before, not including the petty fights you got into when you were young. you weren’t much of a fighter so you weren’t so sure. however, it did mean that you were able to be near raiden more often. you wouldn’t have to spend months, waiting for him to come home.
— you hesitated a bit before agreeing. “alright, i’ll do it.” you agreed, giving his hands a squeeze. “if it means being by your side, then i’ll do it.” you let out softly. “i don’t want you to leave me here by myself again. i need you.” you blurted, not even registering what was said.
— raiden’s eyes widened a bit. you needed him. not a lot of people told him that. well, liu kang needed him to win the mortal kombat tournament but this was different. you needed him. that meant more than any tournament.
— raiden stood quiet for a few moments. he cupped your cheek in his hand and leaned down to place a soft but passionate kiss on your lips.
— you froze for a moment before cupping his face your hands as you kissed him back.
— once you pulled away, you pressed your forehead against his, gently. “i will always need you.” you whispered.
— from that moment on, raiden knew that he would do anything and everything to protect you.

You can stay | Scaramouche x Gn!Reader
Kunikuzushi and you never had a good relationship. First of all, you were academic rivals, second, you were always fighting about litteraly anything. You never thought one day you could actually get along well with him. He hated you. At least, that's what you thought until the night he appeared in front of your door.
Tw : Cursing, family issues, crying, mental health issues.

"What are you doing here ?"
It's 3 AM. You were sleeping peacefully when you heard someone rang the doorbell.
At first, you didn't get out of the bed. After all, this person could always come back in the morning. Nothing was important enough for you to wake up in the middle of the night.
Except the person insisted, again and again, until you finally decided to open the door.
In the street was standing Kunikuzushi Raiden, a guy from your class. You two were classmates for almost 10 years, knowing that you were almost finished highschool. You knew eachother for so long, but you couldn't stand to talk without fighting for more than two minutes.
Maybe because you were both building tight walls around you, not wanting the other to find your weaknesses.
Yet, he was there, shaking and almost crying, eyes suppling for you to let him enters.
He didn't answer your question. The air was cold and you didn't exactly know why, but seeing him like this made your heart ache just a little.
"Come in."
You move on your right to let him enters the house and he came in without hesitation.
You notices some bruises on his arms and face, and the fact that he was in his pyjamas tells you that he came here impulsively.
"What happened ?"
Again, he doesn't answer and just sits down on your cough instead.
You sigh.
"Kunikuzushi, we wont go anywhere if you don't explain to me why you are here. What happened ? Why come to me ?"
"I didn't know where else to go."
His voice is weak, shaking. He's about to cry for real this time, you can feel it.
Quickly, you sit down next to him and take a tissue to dry the first tears falling.
"You can let it out. I promise i won't tell anyone."
"We're supposed to hate eachother..."
"And you're the one saying this ?"
He doesn't answer and start to cry, probably realising that you made a point.
You embraced him slowly, rubbing his back and drying his tears, trying to comfort him.
He was right. You were supposed to hate eachother. But right now, as you felt him sob and shake in your arms, you couldn't bring yourself to actually despise him.
And when you think about it, you never actually despise him. You just can't stand the fact that he's as smart and arrogant than you.
He finally stopped crying after awhile, but you stayed in the same position for some more minutes.
"Are you going to talk now..?" you ask again, with a softer voice.
"I...can try."
You get up and take his hand before taking him to your bathroom.
"First of all, we're going to clean up your wounds. Tell me, how did you do that ?"
He had some cuts on his arms and cheeks, and a bruise on the chin.
"I had a row with my mother, again."
Your smile fell immediatly.
"She did this to you !?"
"What ? No ! No, she would never physically hurt me..."
You felt relieved for an instant. Honestly, you wouldnt know how to look at him in the eyes anymore if he was abused by his mother. All the time you fought with him would have made you feel guilty, no matter if you weren't responsible of his mom's attitude.
"No, i always fight with her but it never went that far."
"So...What were you fighting about ?"
"Honestly, i don't even know. I ruined her life when i was born, she never wanted a son in the first place. She still had another child after me thought, and she loves her very much."
"Are you talking about Baal ? Your little sister who just started highschool ?"
"Yeah. Yae and my mom love Baal. Makoto love Baal. But me...i think i could suddently die, hit by a bus and they wouldnt care."
He stifles a cry and shrugs.
"Maybe Makoto would care."
"Who's Makoto ?" you ask gently.
You talk to him with a soft voice, cleaning his wounds with delicatess.
"My aunt. My mom's twin sister."
"I'm sure she cares a lot about you. And i'm sure your mom love you too, you know ? Maybe she doesn't know how to show it ?"
"I doubt that."
"Remember when we were kids ? I invited you to my birthday party and you feel and broke your ankles."
He raises an eyebrow.
"Yeah ?"
"Well, when my dad called her to explain what happened, he said that she hung up really fast and she arrived to our house not even ten minutes later. That means she was really worried."
Again, he shrugs and looks away.
"I don't even remember that time. We were still friends so it has been a long time ago."
"Well, we were friends for only some months before we started fighting everyday."
You both stay silent, a little embarassed of the way you were talking with open hearts as if you didn't fought everyday of your lifes for the past ten years.
"Thinking of that...You said that you didn't know where else to go, but you couldve gone to Ajax's or Rosalyn's house. Im sure they would have take care of you."
He lowers his head to avoid eye contact.
"I thought of you first."
Your heart skips a bit. Yeah, you definitely didn't hated him as much as you made everyone thought.
"You can stay. For the night, i mean. I'll give you another pyjamas, one of my father's, and you can sleep in the cough."
"But...Am i not bothering your parents ?"
"Oh, my parents aren't home. My mom is at my aunt's house and my dad is at a party in another city. They wont come back until tomorrow afternoon. I said you can stay."
He nods. You leave and come back with a new pyjama.
"You can change here. Do you prefer to sleep in my room or in the cough ? I can take my parent's room if you want."
"Didn't you say i was going to sleep on the cough ?"
"I changed my mind, you can choose. I don't mind."
He takes a deep breathe.
"Why are you so kind to me ? I was so mean to you for no reason for the past ten years...It's not something that you're suppose to forgive so easily."
"I was as mean as you, to be honest. And seeing you cry made me realise that i don't really hate you. Actually, i think i could learn to appreciate you again. Just like when we were kids."
He stays silent for some minutes and you starts to think that you said something wrong.
"So...Could we..."
You don't hear the end of his sentence.
"Can you repeat ? Louder, please."
"Could we sleep in the same room ?"
"What ?"
"I don't want to sleep alone. I'm scared to have a nightmare again..."
You could say no. You could tell him to sleep on the cough and leave you alone. You could even get him out of the house and tell him ro go to Ajax's.
But you don't.
"Yes, we can sleep in the same room."

Raiden x Reader x Fujin: Brothers Share (Lime)
Context: Storm bros both are a bit 'frustrated', and they came up with a very lovely solution
Warning: Nothing explicit, but it's implied you get sandwiched ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The atmosphere gifted such serenity. It was perfect for one to sit through and meditate.
It was always Raiden's go-to hobby whenever he had somewhat spared time in his hands, and he always enjoyed it whenever he could. Although he is a demigod, an immortal being, he knew good things don't last.
Yet, recently, he's been feeling off. It doesn't feel something so dire he needs to consult with the Elder Gods, but whatever it was, it's bothering, let alone, confusing him.
The Thunder God will try to brush off the feeling in body, but it'll always come back. Maybe stronger than prior. And it's agitating since he only knew meditation, which doesn't help.
Standing from his spot, he groans indignantly, rubbing at his temples.
"Trouble with meditation, too, brother?" Raiden slightly flinches and turns to see Fujin. He must've not heard his brethren enter the room.
"It seems so. No matter my attempts, my mind will not be clear. Worse, I do not know what is causing it." Raiden walks around, trying to think before stopping by the window and peering down.
His glow up orbs observe his familiar two students sparring with each other. Turning to the right more, was you seated in the distance, catching up on your studies while occasionally glancing up at your two dorky friends fighting.
For whatever reason, Raiden was less interested in watching the progress with the two boys but kept focus on you. It wasn't like you were doing anything special, but his gaze just never leaves...
"She's stunning, isn't she?" Fujin walks to his side and observes as well.
Raiden only lets out a monotone grunt, which Fujin knew he agreed with him.
"I've been having the same feeling you have. A certain frustration that not even meditation can sooth." Fujin began, walking off from the window. "I may have an idea on how to deal with it, but you are not likely to accept it."
Raiden looked at his brother with a snarky look, finally ridding his gaze upon your figure. "Speak your mind brother, I have no patience for half-hearted, indirect suggestions at a time like this."
Fujin only chuckles at his brother's short fuse, nonchalantly leaning against the wall, crossing his arms. "Well, we both clearly have eyes for dear Y/n, am I correct?"
The expression on Raiden's face relaxed, intrigued on what Fujin may propose. "Are you perhaps about to suggest we collectively pursue her?"
The wind god smiles and nods. "We could persuade her to assist us both on our... salacious feelings before it gets worse."
Looking down, letting the cynical hat cover his glowing orbs, Raiden ponders. This was rather something sinful, but he cannot deny, he is a man. And he knew that Fujin wouldn't judge, considering he's completely relaxed and the one even to propose such a preposterous thing.
"What happens if she finds the request disturbing and says no?"
"If she doesn't want to then we can figure something else out, but Y/n is a cooperative one." Fujin answers, seemingly confident.
Sighing, Raiden takes the younger god's word for it. "I'll accept the proposition."
---Time skip! Dont forget to drink water!---
You ruffled your messy hair, being rather tired after a day of being active. Yet, you were to stop by the Sky Temple again at night.
Walking in quietly, you seeked out both protectors of Earthrealm and did your usual bow as they spot and approach you.
"Greetings, Y/n." Raiden says, returning the courteous bow. "You do not have to be formal with us. You're our friend." Fujin tells you with a warm smile.
"Oh- my bad, it's a habit." You say a bit flustered. "What is it you need from me at this time? Is it about Liu Kang?" I looked confusingly between the gods.
"No, we just..." Raiden didn't know how to start off. "Do you mind if we all go somewhere rather exclusive?"
You were confused since the Sky Temple was rather empty already, but you nodded anyways. And in a split second, the three of you appeared in a rather comfy looking bedroom with a flash.
It must've been Raiden's since all the decoration and furniture look ancient and untouched, considering he doesn't really take time off.
As you were distracted taking in the sudden surrounding, Raiden places his hands behind and back and sighs before explaining. "My brother and I spoke of an issue we both seem to have, and we request if you are willing to help us."
You looked at Raiden and then Fujin in the back. They both seemed relax as if maybe it was something not too urgent. It made you curious.
"Okay, what is it?"
"A certain craving," Raiden takes a glance at Fujin, whom nods, encouraging him to speak more on it.
"A need that we both share. We both desire the physical companionship of a woman. And we would like for you to join us in satisfying that, ah, particular desire since we know you well."
The cat seem to have ceased your tongue as you didn't know how to respond, rather your mind has clouded with thoughts, mostly questions. You looked from Raiden to Fujin. Both of them, eh?
Fujin raises an eyebrow, amused by your expression of shock and uncertainty. "Oh, don't worry, dear Y/n. We won't hurt you. We are simply asking for your consent, and your willingness to indulge us."
"So you guys are really asking me to sleep with you? BOTH of you?" You just had to make sure you were getting this right.
"It may sound absurd for a mortal woman to sleep with not one, but two gods, but we are still men." Raiden states.
"And something similar has happened before." Fujin hints with smugness.
"Fujin." Raiden gives him a warning look before turning back to your shorter being. "Do you have any objections?"
This was rather a one chance in a lifetime deal, and both brothers are such fine specimens. You trusted them well enough.
"Both of you?" You repeated once more with a smirk that was pure admiration.
Fujin walks behind you, first gently grabbing your shoulders before wrapping his arms around you, clearly the more eager brother.
"Brothers share, Y/n." He whispers in your ear, his white bang tickling your face.
Raiden steps more forward, his shadow looming over the both of you. "And we share 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨."
That line alone was enough to cause goosebumps. You gasp quietly feeling soft lips on your neck.
"She's so pretty." Fujin moans out a comment, holding you more and kissing your skin.
Your attention was grabbed back by Raiden as he lifts up your chin, having you look up at his authoritative eyes. "Are you ready to serve like a good mortal?"
You gulped, feeling two things poking you, behind and front.
"Yes, my lord..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ahem... not saying there will be a part 2, but uhhhh, I'm definitely gonna be thinking on it...
God, what my own writing does to me

Bloody Rage
Back with another "Raiden is in emotional turmoil" piece, this time inspired by the ending of the Blood Moon season. Had a lot of fun writing angry, budding Dark!Raiden stuff. Doesn't really scratch the vampire itch I was slightly getting, but this was fun to write regardless
Characters: Raiden, Kung Lao, Liu Kang (He's only here for one scene)
Word Count: 1,306
Warnings: Canon-Typical Violence, Blood
"I'll be fine, Raiden."
"I can handle a little mosquito bite."
"You don't have to worry about me, Raiden. Let's just focus on the mission at hand."
Raiden gazes at the pole where three of his closest associates struggle in vain against the searing hot chains that bound them. They writhe in bestial fury, like an animal trying to break out of its cage. They gnash their teeth, mouths filled with blood, eyes blazing in raging blood lust as they bite at the air while emitting animalistic snarls. If it wasn't for the fact that Raiden was staring down an exiled ninja, an immortal princess...And his best friend...Raiden would've thought them nothing more than animals.
What is he thinking? Even Raiden couldn't bring himself to denounce his friends to such a title. They were suffering, if not from the seething chains, then it was from the disease that demanded they consume flesh and blood. Every so often, one or all of them would exhaust themselves. The pain from their restrictions and their empty stomachs eventually catches up to them. And where their frenzy would once be in full bloom, it ebbs away as their voices become nothing but pathetic whimpers of pain. And then the begging starts. Their growls wither away as weak pleas attempt to allure any who would listen.
"Please, I'm hungry, thirsty."
"Just a drop, I'm not asking for much."
"I beg of you, please, you're hurting me. It's still me."
This only worked once, Raiden remembers. It's how Tomas got infected with the Vaeternian curse. In the beginning, when none of them knew who or what they were truly up against, Tomas, with his loveable bleeding heart, was just trying to help. They were able to capture a victim who was bitten and turned. Days, they were nothing but a ravenous monster. Until one day, they meekly, like a limping dog, asked for just a "taste." That they only needed a small amount of blood, then they would be normal for just a short while. Didn't help, too, that this individual was a close friend of Tomas. So he took the bait.
Raiden still remembers the slow, deteriorating state Tomas endured as the curse cruelly turned him into a monster. And he would be the first victim of the Earthrealm Warriors that had to be contained. The rest would follow suit as they fought off against Nitara and her army of Vaeternians.
He just...He just wished Kung Lao wasn't one of the victims that would fall to the curse. He almost hates him for getting bit, not because of his incompetence, his slip-up; that led to him getting tagged, but because the son of a bitch tried to hide that he was in pain. It was a week later when Raiden saw the tell-tale signs that Kung Lao was infected. Paler skin, longer canines, dimly red eyes, a desire for blood, the writing was on the wall. He remembers scolding Kung Lao for practically endangering everyone by hiding this truth. He should've dragged him over to Liu Kang, it was for his own good, for everyone's well-being, that Lao was locked up.
"I'm fine, Raiden. Really, I am. I'm not going to hurt anyone, I can fight this."
Raiden may be upset about Kung Lao lying about his curse, but the thunder wielder could never forgive himself for...Believing him. Against his better judgment, against the specific directions of Liu Kang, he took his friends' word over any screaming reason that told him to not take Lao on his word. But he did. He doesn't even remember why he listened to Lao. Was it his determined aura? The look of confidence that he was beyond being taken over by the hunger? Or was it that childish, naive idea that Raiden still held for his friend? That despite his shortcomings, Kung Lao always found a way to rise to the top. He never let cold, fever, broken bones, and, in some instances, death, slow him down. So why would a vampiric curse be the one to bring him down?
Raiden gazes at the pole where three of his closest associates struggle in vain against the searing hot chains that bound them. They writhe in bestial fury, like an animal trying to break out of its cage. They gnash their teeth, mouths filled with blood, eyes blazing in raging blood lust as they bite at the air while emitting animalistic snarls. If it wasn't for the fact that Raiden was staring down an exiled ninja, an immortal princess, and his best friend, he would've thought them animals. And where sympathy would've bubbled to the surface to the point of nearly choking him, Raiden felt none.
Instead, anger, like a roiling, vengeful thunderstorm, builds within him. He wanted nothing more than to fry alive the bastard who turned each and every one of his friends. He wanted to wrap his fingers around an unmarred, Vaeternian neck and squeeze. Squeeze until their eyes popped from their sockets, and their skin turned purple from the asphyxiation. Oh, but whoever turned his best friend would get the worst treatment. He can already see it. It would be slow and painful, just like the infectious curse that they spread when they're too unbothered to finish the job.
They would die from a thousand paper cuts, slowly bleeding them out until they were BEGGING to be fed, or better yet, pleading to die. But he would grant them no such mercy. He'd shock them, small sparks that would gradually escalate until they were given the electric chair treatment. He would violently rip out their fangs, and continue to do so until their body could no longer regenerate the bone. Raiden would actually greet their jaw area with a couple fists, maybe even a hammer. Yes, keep hammering away at their teeth until they all shatter and fall apart, one by one.
In fact, now that he's remembering this, the Vaeternians are known for their regeneration capabilities. He wouldn't even need to shock them back to life to ensure that their suffering is prolonged. He could keep them roped up in electric shackles, the shocks keeping them occupied while he gutted them like a pig at a slaughterhouse.
"Raiden..."
The choked sound of Kung Lao's voice tears Raiden from his violent fantasy. The thunder wielder slowly turns his gaze to Lao, his face filled with an unsettling look of passivity.
"Raiden, please. It hurts," Kung Lao whimpers, the sound of sizzling flesh emphasizing his point, "Raiden! Please!"
A pain in his heart lightly pokes at Raiden. He never thought he would see the day where Kung Lao was begging for anything. A prideful, cocksure, swagger of a fighter, now brought to his knees in a state of submission. Yet, Raiden can't find it in himself to pity his friend. Kung Lao didn't need pity, plenty had been given to him. His friend deserves to be liberated, his attacker executed for putting his friend in so much pain.
"Raiden..."
The farm boy is slow to respond to Liu Kang's call, his head turning to face the Fire God. A pang of shame creeps under his skin, and he lowers his eyes, "I'm sorry, Lord Liu Kang. I...I wanted to see him."
"I know," the Fire God approaches Raiden, placing a hand on his shoulder as he gently guides him away from the courtyard where their vampiric allies remained. "We are working diligently to find a solution for them. Geras has been searching for a possible timeline that was able to cure the Vaeternian curse. There's still hope for them."
"...I know..."
Yet, despite these affirmations, Raiden can't shake the anger, the need to break something, to hurt someone. It isn't enough that Kung Lao, Tomas, and Kitana are cured.
It just isn't enough.

heyyy I just saw ur post and so I was wondering if you could do MK Intros for Fujin, Nightwolf, Kuai Liang, and Kung Lao ? thx for all the hard work 💗🙏
Hey!!! Thank you so much for this request <3 you didn’t specify what kind of genre you were looking for (light-hearted, angst, etc) so I just went with the flow. I also got some inspiration from @azul-marie and her wonderful mk post about intros with a goddess reader and I loved it!!
This is a concept I’ve been meaning to try, I hope y’all like it <3
MK Character Intros
Various x Dark!Goddess!Reader
Characters: Fujin, Nightwolf, Kuai Liang, and Kung Lao + Bonus character at the end ;)
Context: The characters knew Y/N before she became the dark version of herself, it’s a similar concept to Dark Raiden. Y/N had a past relationship with each of the characters.
Part 2
Tumblr media
Fujin: “What happened to you?” A pained expression flickered across his face as he readied his sword.
Y/N: “What needed to happen.”
Fujin: “Greed is a want, never a need.”
Fujin: “What happened to you?”
Y/N: “I’m surprised you noticed.”
Fujin: “Of course I did, you were my world.”
Y/N: “I wasn’t. Your world was Earthrealm.”
Fujin: “Come back to us, we can help you.”
Y/N: She scoffs, rolling her eyes. “And get locked in an inescapable cage? I’ll pass, thanks.”
Fujin: He says nothing, Y/N’s words hurt him too much to speak.
Tumblr media
Nightwolf: “You are going down a wrong path, Y/N.”
Y/N: “You dare defy a GOD?”
Nightwolf: “No god would commit such cruelties.”
Nightwolf: “You are going down a wrong path, Y/N.”
Y/N: “It’s Lady Y/N to you.”
Nightwolf: “I don’t remember you having an ego.”
Nightwolf: “Where’s my Y/N?” He spit the words out, anger filling his eyes.
Y/N: “I’m right here, sweetheart.” A chuckle left her lips as she watched Nightwolf’s scowl deepen.
Nightwolf: “You’re merely a vessel she left behind.”
Tumblr media
Y/N: She walks into the arena with her head held high, an intimidation tactic. “On your knees.”
Kuai: “I will not bow to you.”
Y/N: “Then do not expect mercy."
Y/N: “On your knees.”
Kuai: “I will not bow to you.”
Y/N: “That’s not what you said last night.”
Kuai: “You’ve become cold and brash.”
Y/N: “We’re more similar than you think.”
Kuai: “We are nothing alike.”
Tumblr media
Kung Lao: “I happened to overhear your conversation with Sub-Zero, is your offer still on the table?” A smirk was plastered on his face as he spoke.
Y/N: “I’m looking for humble worshippers, not those who will use my name in vain.”
Kung Lao: “Then I’ll just keep screaming your name until you hear me.”
Y/N: “You’d be a useful ally.”
Kung Lao: “I’m done being a wingman.”
Y/N: “That’s not what it looks like to me.”
Y/N: “You’d be a useful ally.”
Kung Lao: “Little ol’ Lao working alongside a goddess? It would be my honor.”
Y/N: “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
Tumblr media
Bonus character!
Dark Raiden: “Look at what you’ve become.”
Y/N: “The same can be said for yourself.”
Dark Raiden: “Hmph.”
Y/N: “Still lurking in the dark, are we?”
Dark Raiden: “For as long as you are.”
Y/N: “Oh honey, I am the night.”
Y/N: “When are you going to stop lying to yourself? When did you ever protect Earthrealm?”
Dark Raiden: “Even gods make mistakes.”
Y/N: “Not me. Never me.”
And that wraps up my first mk request <33 this was so much fun to write and I hope I’ll write more intros in the future :) requests are currently open so feel free to hmu! lmk if y’all want a part 2 to this :D
