The silly vampire man in the style of Quentin Blake, why not?

Was trying out a Quentin Blake style a while back and had a go drawing Bells Hells. It was a really fun exercise! Wish I could do watercolours though.

"Quentin Blake's Box of Treasures" for the BBC, It was fun retouching and grading this series of images. Working across multiple files and layouts while maintaining Charlie's unique style of photography was an exciting challenge. Collaborating with the illustration team to incorporate elements that complement Sir Quentin's iconic illustration style.

Him.
The mind, the myth, the madman.
The greatest chocolatier of all time. Friend to children, host of the Buckets, accomplice of Oompa Loompas, builder of the final resting place of Prince Pondecherry and his wife, master of mad science, karmic arbiter, US presidential malcontent, fluent in gibberish, slayer of knids, creator, inventor, patron, and suspected serial murderer and cannibal (quite unfounded).
Willy Wonka. 🍫🎩🏭
This character is very near and dear to me. I love eccentric characters! I tried to imitate Quentin Blake's style as best I could. No guide-lines no nothing. I hope you like it and I'm glad I got to try it! ☺️
See you at the theater! 🎫🍿

apropos of nothing, I just feel like sharing my most favorite Quentin Blake illustration of all time:
that goddamn gormless face has lived in my mind ever since I first read Matilda some 30-odd years ago, and it makes me smile every time my memory randomly barfs it back up
that is the very essence of :3
also knowing that that plate Trunchbull's holding just shatters harmlessly on Bruce's head because he's so full of cake he's essentially "a sack of wet cement" adds to my glee
the ideal state of being, imo

I swear if I see one more supposedly learned person discussing Roald Dahl’s books and attributing the most famous illustrations of his children’s books to him and NOT legendary illustrator Quentin Blake I will go insane and throttle someone.

BBC Iplayer
@simonpegg with the warthog from Zagazoo on his head. Created for the @bbc’s new animated series ‘Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures’ - out on @bbciplayer now.
It was so fun combining Sir Quentin’s iconic illustration style with my portraits - I spent many wonderful hours throwing around ideas with @samparvrat and @massimo_fenati often giggling with delight.
