@imagine-darksiders . Almost done with him. Seems even in art form he’s a prick to work with lol.

Man this bitch gave me a time and a half! Trying to get his flat colors together was a test of patience for me, but I’m glad I got it out of the way. He looks pretty.

I’m gonna work on the BG, shading, and special effects in the morning. Had a shit day yesterday. I am truly happy with how I did the details this time around, especially the feathering!

Corruption is fun to mess with. Looks very goopy, like algae sludge. ;)

(Figured I would post the update as its own post instead of a reblog, if only to make it easier for others to see later on and not have to go digging through reblogs like I’ve had to sometimes)

I truly do love Ellie’s way with words and how she brings the characters to life in her stories, and makes my heart hurt in the best of ways. I also have the full comic not cut into pieces, and imma reblog this with the full comic just for funsies. I’ll be making another one after this, so it doesn’t make me sad.

Herobrine is fully immortal, and can’t really age, nor can he die right. But Steve can. He can grow old, and get blown up, and eaten by zombies and burned by lava and… well you get the picture.

Wanted Hero to have some happy memories during his long long existence.

Was listening to Siljan by Astrid Everdahl and it sounds like something for a cute moment, but it turned to angst for me.

Holy fuck it’s done. Took me far longer than I was expecting, and there was more research I had to do than I thought, but it’s done!! :,D

I wanted to take a stab at designing a blob ghost, bc I’ve seen folks describe them as very jelly-like, or like putty, so I went with the jelly. I really like how they came out!

Anywho, here’s the finished piece! I had fun making this one, even with life getting in the way.

Behold! My stuff!

Was in a Minecraft mood, so I went and did the Steve and Herobrine.

I sometimes see folks draw Brine as either the exact same as Steve, just with white eyes, or as much bigger and more buff looking. I’ve come across some who draw Brine as more slight, or less beefy than Steve (who canonically punches down trees), but it wasn’t enough for me. So MY dumbass made Steve built like a brick house, and Herobrine as some short twink of a gremlin.

They’re best friends, Your Honor.

They also fuck, but I can’t show that. Yet

Anyway, i hope y’all enjoy. I had fun making this one, and I’ve been able to get a portable drawing tablet, so I can do more doodles on the go, instead of having to wait until i get home.

Made these in September, then forgot I made them.

Vlad is one of my favorite characters ngl, but I prefer his fandom characterization over the canon. It just hits different 😜. The canon is interesting to study in my spare time tho so…. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Anywho! Yeah, I know there isn’t any shading for this, and the proportions are kinda wonky, but idgaf honestly. Just wanted to try out drawing someone from behind.

AAAAAND IT’S DONE

Kinda missed a few spots, but I’m just gonna leave it like that. I’m happy with what I have now.

Herobrine is definitely the kinda guy who hates the sun bc it’s too bright for his *special eyes* and bc he’s up all night causing mischief, mostly at the expense of Steve’s sanity and builds.

Steve is not amused.

Also I really like how the top left image came out! I found some decent brushes on CSP Assets, and kinda went ham, but it looks so pretty!!! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

I was going for something like an ethereal/angelic vibe, while also making it seem a bit…. Off? I’m just testing out little ideas for how Steve and Herobrine meet, like Steve is looking for a lost sheep and finds it playing with Hero deep in the woods, or they run into each other in the mines with Hero being a creep and following Steve around in the darkness, breaking his torches bc they’re too bright (hence why he uses red stone torches in the lore), or Steve is in a village trading and shit and Hero just rams right into him bc he’s running from some villager guards/iron golems, or something else.

I’m just vibing with these two dorks, idfk what I’m doing.

Also, Herobrine is immortal, and cannot die by any means, but he can be hurt. As for any injuries he sustains keeping him down? Highly doubtful.

Anywho, I hope y’all enjoy! I had fun making this one, and I’ll be brainstorming more ideas for how they both orbit each other, and if they become friends slowly, or save each other or some shit. Might add Alex and/or other ‘players’ to the mix, see how that goes.

Gotta love this blocky life

Just wanted to share some more Herobrine blurbs. This funky little dude just won’t get out of my head. Don’t mind the scratchiness, was in the mood to make something rough and just drop it off here.

I’m basing some of these ideas off the From the Fog mod, mainly the tamed wolves growling at Herobrine when he’s stalking the player, and how everything else ignores him. Herobrine being able to trade with Villagers is my own thing tho, as well as cats liking him.

I also have this idea that when Hero teleports around and shit, either bc of boredom or bc he has specific places around the World that are important or interesting to him, he makes the chances of a Zombie Siege much higher than normal. Like, if the normal chance of a Siege happening is 10% a week, then him teleporting from a Village or near one bumps it up to a 30% chance. The more he teleports to and from an area, the higher it rises, until it’s a guarantee that a Siege will occur that night in that Village. It’s caused some… issues during his existence when trying to socialize.

To make friends.

Not many Villagers know that Herobrine has something to do with more Sieges occuring to Villages, but those who survive and find their way to a new Village to recover? They remember him showing up, messing around and pulling pranks, before vanishing without a trace. To a Villager, Herobrine is an outsider, a traveler with no place to call his own. And his appearance and subsequent disappearance, and a Zombie Siege happening shortly after? Many begin to see Herobrine as a dark omen, bad luck, a Bringer of Death in a way. The survivors travel, and so does word of a strange man in bright clothes, with white, glowing eyes and odd behaviors. Who shows up to cause mischief, only to lead death to their doorsteps.

Hero doesn’t mean for these things to happen. Doesn’t even realize he’s the one causing them. He’s not Mortal, he’s not Human. His understanding of passive and hostile Mobs is heavily skewed bc most ignore him. He believes the Villagers he’s pranked and traded with are safe and sound (as much as they can be with Pillagers skulking around), and he’s just bringing some harmless fun to these grouchy, tired, overly stressed people. He didn’t know…..

If he comes across a Village who has survivors from Sieges he’s accidentally caused, and is seen by them, he’s run out of the Village. With fire and blade and pitchfork, sometimes an Iron Golem or two if the Village is wealthy/large enough to afford some. Since he doesn’t interact with Humans much, he’ll panic and run. Why are they being so mean? What did I do?

I just wanted to play…

Made some art for @ultimateplanedragon ‘s Dusthide Helios and his familiar Infinity!

Had fun merging what they wanted Helios to look like as well as his normal Dusthide features, and Infinity is so cute!!! I wasn’t feeling up to shading or rendering his metallic parts, so sadly he’s stuck with just his flats.

Doodle the Dragon Above You is a fun little forum game I partake in when bored or not inspired by things around me, and it’s always nice to share art with the other players, and put the pretty pictures up in your dragon’s bio. Shit’s fun!

I’ve got other things to work on now that my artistic mojo is flowing right again, so imma get on that! Hope y’all enjoy

Working on a commission from my cousin rn, and it’s been a bitch and a half. I knew commissions were time consuming and draining sometimes but holy shit I have an all new respect for commission artists and an understanding for why they charge a lot for their works!

I won’t open my own commissions, mainly bc I have no clue how to do them correctly and prefer to just do them for my family, but I’ll use this as a learning experience for the future.

Some Herobrine doodles bc I wanted to. Might fix up digitally, might not. Will see how I’m feeling in the morning.

First pic is him just sitting and his Steve’s sheep is being curious.

Second is Herobrine probably protecting Steve when a Zombie Siege survivor convinces the village Steve lives in that he’s the reason the Sieges happen, and to kill/burn him alive so they stop happening. Herobrine takes exception to that. The words in the top right are the songs that inspired that particular scene.
