The Smallest Coffins Weigh The Heaviest
Summary: Bored of staying inside the orphanage all day, Rei takes Yu outside to catch fireflies at night. Little did they know that such a simple, innocent intention would lead to their demise.
(This takes place about a century before the present Puyo Puyo games. Keep in mind that the twins’ personalities were switched during their lifetime)
Characters: Yu and Rei, Ayashii
Warnings: Blood and Gore, Character death, Swearing, Alcohol
“Yu! Yu! Wake up, you’re gonna miss breakfast!”, Rei eagerly chirped, shaking his twin sister back and forth.
Yu woke up to the blinding rays of the sun, as usual, she didn’t have a care in the world. The little girl rubbed her eyes and dragged herself out of bed, Rei having his arm around her shoulder.
The twins arrived to the dining table, only to be greeted by the director of the orphanage giving them the stink eye.
“Now, what took you two munchkins forever?”, he asked, unamused. Yu and Rei stared at the director and then each other.
“I’m so sorry Miss director, Yu had a terrible nightmare last night, so she had some trouble sleeping.”
“Oh! In that case I’m sorry for judging you too quickly.” The middle aged woman kneeled down to comfort Yu, “Are you alright now, Yu?”
“Yeah I guess…”, she responded tugging at her sweater. “Rei, let’s eat now, I guess”
“Yay! Pancakes!”
The twins joined the other young children in eating breakfast. Soon enough, they had eaten to their fill and they were ready to go on with their day. Well, except Yu.
The poor girl never understood the value of life and always wondered why people would care about such a thing. That’s why her nightmare that previous night was so horrific; It was dream where she was forced into living eternally.
Her brother, Rei, in stark contrast, loved his live and is terrified at the thought of having to leave the world one day, or losing anybody he loved.
While all the children, including Rei, frolicked outdoors, Yu simply sat on a bench, staring aimlessly at the bundles of clouds, lost in her thoughts about the confusion of life and death.
“Wouldn’t it be better if Rei and I just… became ghosts? Then we can see our parents again, right?” She said mentally. Their parents were tragically murdered when the twins were just five years old. Their bodies were never recovered, but rumor had it that they were killed by the notoriously corrupt Book Demon, Ayashii.
Yu had heard many stories about Ayashii from the elders who often read stories to them at the orphanage, and they often scared Rei and the other children senseless. She, however, still doubted his existence.
At nighttime…
The children prepared for bed after such a long day, but Rei had different plans. He walked up to Yu and gave her a net.
“A net? But why?”
“It’s firefly season, didn’t you hear? Let’s sneak out of this musty old place and catch fireflies instead!”
“Fine, I guess.”
Yu and Rei cautiously snuck out of the building and ran into the woods. As Rei said, there were dozens and dozens of fireflies.
Yu’s eyes widened in amazement at the fireflies. It was like the lights at a festival. The twins began catching as many flies as they could, giggling and twirling around.
“She’s actually happy!”, Rei said to himself.
But at that moment, all of the fireflies suddenly dropped dead, much to Yu and Rei’s dismay.
“What the heck just happened?!”, Rei muttered.
“I don’t know…”, Yu answered.
All got worse when they heard faint footsteps from the distance. They both shivered and ducked in a nearby bush. The footsteps drew near followed by a man’s sinister chuckle.
“R-Rei, it’s…”, Yu whispered.
“It’s who?!”, Rei whispered back.
“It’s… him”, Yu replied in horror.
“The one who killed our parents?!”, Rei said, but his voice rose uncontrollably, exposing them.
The man drew even closer and destroyed the bush with his magic. Yup. It was the devil himself, Ayashii. The twins screamed at the sight of his menacing red eyes and the bloodstained cleaver in his right hand, making the demon grin sadistically.
“Awww, how adorable, you little kids thought that you could get away from me? How foolish indeed.”, he giggled with a devilish smile.
“S-stay away! Don’t you d-dare hurt us!”, Rei pleaded.
“My friend, you can’t control fate. But the irony here is that I am the one controlling your fate, and you can’t do a thing about it!”, he began to laugh maniacally as he effortlessly pinned Yu down with one foot and Rei in his left hand.
“NO! LET GO OF US!!!”, Rei yelled but Ayashii didn’t relent. He slammed the blue haired boy to the ground and chopped his leg off with one swing of the cleaver.
“AAAAAUUUUGHHH!!!”
“Rei NO!!”, Yu cried in horror. Her brother was now helplessly screaming in agony as tears were torrenting down her face like a waterfall.
“Now onto you, young lady!”, he picked up his half full bottle of wine and smashed it into Yu’s face, covering it with blood and wine as Yu went unconscious.
Ayashii sighed, “Well, I had to do something with that last half of the bottle.” He grabbed the two children by their sweaters and took them to the top of a mountain.
He dangled their tormented, tortured, ruined bodies by the edge, “Say your last words.”
“B-but, she’s unconsci-“
“SAY. YOUR. LAST. WORDS.”
“Okay fine! Y-Yu if you can h-hear me, I-I’m so sorry!! We’re both gonna die because of me!!”, Rei choked out, sobbing.
“It’s…not your fault Rei.”, Yu whispered, gaining consciousness.
“Really?!”, Rei said but before any of them could say another word…
“Adieu, twins.”
Ayashii dropped them down, ultimately killing the poor children. He licked all the blood off his cleaver and smiled to himself.
“They were no use to me alive, but perhaps their corpses could be useful as a nice decoration for my home.. heh heh~”

Another Kluguro fic because I love them

"Calculus!"
"Backhand slip grip special! ★"
A large pile of nuisance puyos fell on Ringo's next chain, causing the match to end. However, before She could even congratulate Maguro, the pair found themselves into quite the dilemma.
Bursting out of the sky? That's what Amitie did all of the time... But somehow, she and Maguro found themselves doing exactly that...
[meanwhile]
"What a peaceful day... Almost too peaceful... Actually, I don't think it's ever been this quiet before. It's actually kind of scary..."
A certain, brown haired nerd sat on a bench, studying an old book on an even older Legend. Klug was so engrossed in his book, that he almost didn't notice the purple haired toddler running at him...
Except it wasn't a purple haired toddler. It was Feli and her tiny body. She only reached up to Klug's neck. What made things weird, however, was the fact that he was scared of her.
"Hiyah!" Feli yelled, pointing her dowsing rods at Klug.
"Meep!"
Klug immediately jumped back, hugging the book he was reading. His body was trembling all over at the sight of this miniature gremlin of a girl.
"What do you w-want?!"
Feli scowled, putting her hands on her hips.
"That purple haired boy and his red haired girlfriend are here. They were lost so I asked the stars for help, and they told me to tell you to go and help them because APPARENTLY you're of use to them. Goodbye, four eyes. I hope fate allows me to never see you again.
Feli quickly scampered away, off to find Lemres no doubt. After all, he was visiting Primp right now.
Purple haired boy? Red haired girlfriend? Surely she didn't mean... Sasaki and Ando? So they were dating, huh...
Klug was never one to meddle in relationship business, but he couldn't help but feel a bit disheartened that his crush had found somebody... Especially when that somebody was smart, beautiful and Maguro's childhood friend.
Klug quickly brushed off these thoughts, realising it wouldn't get him anywhere, and so, with a sinking feeling in his chest, he hurried off to find Maguro and Ringo.
[With Maguro and Ringo]
"Hey, so what was that girl's deal? She seemed weird and creepy..." Ringo sighed.
"Heck if I know... ★"
Maguro and Ringo had been walking around for what felt like hours now... Even though it was only around ten minutes. They had ended up in an unfamiliar part of Primp's markets, passing by a few strange individuals in the process.
"Ugh... Why are people in Primp so strange?!"
Ringo seemed annoyed now. She was just trying to have a Puyo Puyo battle with Maguro, and somehow she ended up in the one part of Primp that she didn't recognize. They had both challenged a few of the people they vaguely met at some point, but to no avail.
"You know, Ringo... What's even stranger is the fact they just assume we're dating. What if I'm into a boy or something? ★" Maguro stated, putting his right hand in his pocket while the left one kept playing with the kendama.
"So you are into a guy, huh?"
"W-Wait! No I just m-meant... You know what, fine, you win... ★"
Maguro's face was a bright red now. Ringo was right, he was into a guy. A guy he knew so much yet so little about. Maguro didn't even realize he was going off on one of his excited rants before it was too late...
"Well... He's a really cute nerd and... ★"
[With Klug]
He had been searching for ages now, even running into a couple of strange individuals who pointed him in the right direction.
"Just my luck... I ran into that annoying Witch lady and that creeper with the sword... Oh well at least I have some lea—"
Klug quickly cut himself off as soon as he saw Maguro and Ringo walking down the streets, laughing and chatting, like a couple would... It just served as a reminder that he would never be good enough for Maguro.
He quickly dashed up to the pair, putting on a smile to seem friendly.
"I heard you love birds needed assistance?"
The pair quickly turned around out of confusion and curiosity.
"Love birds?" Ringo asked.
Ringo was definitely confused. Why did everyone assume that she and Maguro were dating? It was kind of getting on her nerves.
"Not you too, Klug ★" Maguro sighed, clearly disappointed.
It was Klug's turn to be confused now... What was that supposed to mean?
"What do you mean, Sasaki?"
"I mean that you've got it all wrong! Ringo and I are just friends! ★"
Klug's face flushed red out of embarrassment.
"So you're telling me that you and Ando aren't dating...?"
"Of course not... In fact, I love you, Klug... ★"
This time, both of their faces flushed red as Ringo chuckled.
"Klug, I would just like to inform you that, if you hadn't gotten here so soon, I might've had to endure an hour's long rant about why Maguro thinks you're hot, so thanks...!" Ringo smirked, clearly trying to fluster the pair.
"R-Really? You love m-me that much?... I... U-Uhm... I love you too..."
Maguro smiled softly, planting a kiss on the cheek of the slightly smaller male.
"I love you to the edge of space-time and back... ★"

Happy Halloween!!! I drew Ragnus as a monster for @kirstenonic05’s fic Trembling! She drew Schezo as a monster which you can check out on her blog!!!
Ragnus became a fallen hero who transformed into a monster that is no longer able to serve the people. He’s feared for his appearance despite his best attempts to help them. He hides his horns under his circlet (badly).

...
"W-Wait that's not— No! Don't! Please!"
Klug immediately sat upright, trembling as he recalled the nightmare he just had. Being permanently possessed... It was a common dream he had... But this was a first...
Hurting his friends, and being able to do nothing about it... It tore him up inside...
Klug brought a shaking hand to his face, wiping the tears that fell down his pale cheeks. He was crying... He felt almost ashamed... How could the future great mage, Klug, be so weak?
"Hey? Klug? I heard crying... Is everything okay? ★"
Oh, right... He forgot that he was having a sleepover around Maguro's... What a great way to spoil the night... Not only was he ashamed, but he was now humiliated. Being seen like this? He felt pathetic...
"I-I'm fine..."
Klug barely managed to get out the words, words that he knew weren't true...
"Look, you're crying... You're clearly not okay... And if you're not gonna tell me what's wrong, I'm going to have to find out myself. I'm not letting you keep things to yourself if it means you're going to cry yourself to sleep over it... ★"
Maguro was not going to leave his boyfriend to suffer. If he ever learnt anything from his life, it's that bottling up emotions were not healthy. He'd often vent to Ringo about some of his issues, but that was before he met Klug... And now, it was his turn to act like the shoulder to lean on.
"N-No! I'm fine, I swear—"
But before the small nerd could finish, Maguro gently swept his hair to the side. His eyes were able to charm people. He could easily use that to his advantage to make Klug confess what was wrong.
"Come on, babe... You can tell me what's wrong... I won't judge... ★"
Klug immediately felt his cheeks flush as he stared into those beautiful eyes... He felt as if he couldn't hide anything within Maguro's charming presence...
And so, he told Maguro what happened in his nightmare... The possession, the pain, the fact that he had done so much harm to others against his will... He told Maguro about it all...
"It's okay, babe... You know what? Do you want me to sleep in the same room for tonight? That way I'll be able to comfort you if you have another nightmare...★"
"Y-Yes please..."
And so, Klug was able to get a decent amount of sleep (for once), and it was all because his boyfriend was there for him... The one person who made him feel special...
