For this year's Secret Satan Potluck, I was given @kattenkwaad ! I was so happy to see so many Masks characters to choose from. I really loved Regalia's hero outfit and hair. And as someone who's friend also played a pink outsider, I just had to throw in Mirea as well 💖
I'm so proud!!! My student teacher was hired to be on our 3rd grade team next year!!! (One of my teammates is moving to California for her girlfriend's work.) My student-teacher's answers were so great that it was an unanimous decision. I almost cried, some of her answers were so good!! And never once did she rest on the fact that she was student teaching in the grade level already!
With a mentor as bright as her, you’re sure to be in her shadow.
I got to make another character for a Masks campaign so I wanted to show them off here! I’m using the Protégé playbook this time meaning I also had the chance to design one of the NPCs since my character needed a mentor.
Meet Shafiq Bakir, also known as Starshroud, the protégé of the renowned superhero, Sunburst. Both Starshroud and Sunburst have gravity-related powers but while Sunburst has superhuman strength to aid her in combat, Starshroud has to make do with gadgets, like shock gauntlets and EMP charges, to get around in fights. It was really fun to play around with their designs as they’re meant to be a pair but contrast so wildly against each other.
Sunburst is a celestial being, made from a drop of sunlight so she doesn’t really have a civilian identity or any understanding of what it means to be a normal human being. Shafiq, on the other hand, is just a kid that discovered they had gravity powers at age ten so they’re considered a late-bloomer when it comes to powers and they’re so painfully aware of how behind they are. Their color palettes also differ in that Sunburst is decked out in white and gold, befitting her cheerful disposition and loved hero status, and Starshroud sticks with navy blue and silvers, to better reflect their introverted personality and kinda staying in their mentor’s shadow. But I did want to give them elements that tied them together like having their respective celestial bodies on their chests and heels, chunky boot cuffs, flowy elements like scarves and capes, and Starshroud’s mask mimicking the shape of Sunburst’s eyes.
Sorry for talking so much but it’s been a minute since I made a couple of new characters from scratch so I wanted to gush about them. What are your thoughts on them?

La conscience est ma garantie,
Douce amie qui libère l'homme
Protégé de se savoir pur.
Je vis (et je le vois encore)
Un corps sans tête cheminer
Comme cheminaient tous les autres.
Il tenait lui-même sa tête
Dans la main comme une lanterne
Qui nous regardant soupirait.

I'm proud to be part of a programme as a mentor where we can focus on the next generation of our profession. Protégé is more than a professionally focused mentoring programme; it is a Talent Discovery Workshop. With workshops and professional experiences to complement the mentoring programme, the aim is to take advantage of every opportunity and help students find the direction that best suits them.
Fixed the typo. Read and researched my Sunday away. Tomorrow I’ll be on the move. And like 2017, I’ll be ignoring the Solar Eclipse. I miss my old Instagram account when I think back on that year.
When Danny moved to Gotham he didn't think that would be a problem, his rogues agreed to let him go (or at least, most of them) and it was a good opportunity to get his college degree.
Of course, you can't spend your whole life with ghosts without getting attached to them or having them getting attached to you. Although most of them had promised, Danny was well aware that not all of them were going to keep that promise.
A good example was Fright Knight, who instead of staying in the Realms decided to move in with him and provide additional "protection"; the halfa figured it made sense, since he was now "heir" or whatever, he was just setting him back a few years.
Fright Knight took his job very seriously, mostly hiding in Danny's shadow and keeping watch. That was fine until the halfa got caught in a rogue attack in Gotham and inevitably, Frighty decided to do his job and press a sword down their throats.
Danny escaped from there soon after, but this trend continued to happen (rogues, muggers, even cops, anything "dangerous" ended up with a sword around his neck).
When he read in the Gotham newspaper about the "spirit of a knight" and "Gotham's recent problem with nightmares" he knew he had to do something about it. He was almost certain that people were going to consider him a vigilante or worse, a bat.
Besides, the nightmare dimension was getting pretty crowded and Danny didn't want to be part of the trauma of half the population in Gotham.
