5 - in all seriousness yeah I did start this blog because I wanted somewhere to reblog dt content without being too annoying because everyone who followed my main blog was there for like, howl's moving castle and like literature I guess. and then I was like hey I do vaguely related doodles sometimes and people ended up actually liking them! wowza
15 - what do you think of when you hear the word “home”?
this is a really good question because I'm in the in-between stages of moving into my grandmother's house (she lives 7 houses down from us lol). I have every mental illness known to man (<- this is not true) so home becomes wherever I feel safe, which largely translates to a combination of sensory experiences and emotional security. home is where my weighted blanket is. home is the costume rack I fell asleep under in between class and rehearsal. home is my loft with all the drawings of wizard suliman done on bad paper that I taped to the wall when I was sixteen. mostly home is wherever I can sing. I have to be able to sing.
28 - do you collect anything?
I let the flowers I get from every show dry out and then hang them from the wall does that count? also i collect examples of American propaganda posters from the world wars and use them to decorate my room (cue me and my mom trying to figure out the words to explain to my French exchange student that the "buy war bonds" poster is ironic)

stepping into the role of like a member of the sandwing intelligentsia i think, for the sand kingdom, the best queen would be blister—because when the DoD're talking about propaganda in the first book the thing they say about blister is that she's probably plotting to become queen of all the tribes. if there's a bit of truth in there, and blister really is an expansionist interested in imperialising the rest of the continent—no matter how subtly—then for the average sandwing she is unequivocally the best choice. she's an awful backstabber and schemer -- anyone with any kinda power would be having a terrible time if she were queen -- and obv the rest of the continent wouldn't like being imperialised, but for the sand kingdom at large the sheer economic benefit of imperialism means that blister becoming queen would result in a marked increase their quality of life that they just wouldn't come close to with burn or blaze.
Wowza those are some words. Even if I don't like the idea of Blister being queen, I do like the arguments made in her defense. They're fun! All of these arguments for a person's choice of queen are fun.

what’s even better than livewatches being back after 2 months? mlp g5 being here!!! i haven’t watched g4 since the midway point of season 6, but i’ve kept up with all the pony news on equestria daily. at first i wasn’t too excited about g5, but since more clips and info have come out, i’m pumped to get the party started! :D

so that was the mlp g5 movie! i loved it a lot more than i thought i would and it wasn’t kiddie like g3. it was a lot like g4! the connection between that and g5 is awesome! the characters were fun and the story was really interesting despite it being a typical hero’s journey. it reminded me so much of disney! i can’t wait to see what adventure sunny and her friends have in store! :D

2. favorite drink? Depends on time of year and mood but generally Cherry/Vanilla Coke
3. favorite song? You’re gonna make me choose?? Yikes okay well if I had to choose my favorite song of all time it would probably be Gentrify by Propaganda
4. favorite book? Also so difficult wowza so i’ll choose two. For fiction, The Accidental Hero by Matt Myklusch. As for non-fiction, Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow.
5. favorite color? Dark teal probably, or like a solid navy blue. I also like gold.
6. have you ever been to another country? Only Mexico so far but I hope to study abroad now that I’m in college.
7. favorite movie? How do I pick? So difficult. However, I’d say that if I had to choose one movie it would probably either Captain America: Winter Soldier or Wonder Woman
8. how tall are you? 5′ 11″
9. favorite artist? Probably Propaganda. He does a mix of rap and poetry, so each of his albums has two or three spoken word poems which are all really good. His stuff is pretty political too which I like. Here’s a link to my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE poem of his, called Twenty Years
10. average hours of sleep? Oh dear well it hasn’t been great lately, usually between six and seven on weekdays.

Wonder Woman; A Wonderful Step of Detective Comic Extended Universe
(warning : a lil bit spoiler)
Wonder Woman adalah salah satu karakter superhero keluaran DC Comic yang paling gue suka (selain Batman, Green Arrow dan The Flash yeee). Untuk filmnya sendiri gue sendiri udah nonton berbagai versinya, mulai dari tv series yang diperankan Linda Carter, lalu modern tv pilot keluaran 2011, animation film, dll. Untuk live action movie yang dirilis Warner Bros tahun 2017 ini, gue nonton sampe 2x, karena buat gue ini film the best banget. If you want to know why ... here’s my reason ...
1. storytelling yang cukup ok dalam mengadaptasi origin komiknya
film dibuka ketika Diana, Prince of Themiscyra (Gal Gadot) menerima paket dari Bruce Wayne berisi foto asli dirinya bersama Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) dan para pejuang World War 1 lainnya dibarengi dengan voice over mengenai perspektif Diana tentang dunia. Lalu reaksi dan ekspresi Diana saat menerima paket tersebut buat gue priceless banget, dan menjadi bridging untuk storytelling origin Diana sebagai Wonder Woman. Sekilas opening scene seperti ini terasa klise, namun bukankah yang klise itu yang selalu tulus dan menyentuh.
Cerita yang diawali saat Diana tinggal di pulau Themiscyra, bersama kaum Amazon, mulai dari saat ia kecil hingga ia dewasa dan meninggalkan Themiscyra, buat gue adalah sebuah storytelling yang baik dan benar dalam memperkenalkan seorang sosok superhero. Ia mengalir secara runtut, jelas, dan mengasyikkan. Buat gue, storytelling semacam inilah yang seharusnya dibuat saat mengadaptasi komik. Konsekuensinya memang lebih memakan waktu, namun ia justru akan memanjakan penonton, baik para comic geek semacam gue, ataupun penonton awam. Kudos buat screenwriternya !
2. developing karakter dan pengadeganan yang jempolan
Kaum Amazon yang secara mitologis diadaptasi dari kisah suku Scythian yang tersebar mulai dari Afrika Utara, Eropa Selatan hingga Mediterania dan Persia, disini keseluruhannya merupakan suku wanita petarung. Dan Patty Jenkins mendirect seluruh talentnya dengan cukup ok untuk menggambarkan para Amazonian ini. Gue suka waktu dia mengestablish keseharian kaum Amazon. Para wanita perkasa berkaki jenjang, mulai dari yang bule sampe african, mulai dari blonde sampe brunette, berlatih martial arts dan combatan dengan balutan busana mirip pejuang Sparta. Aksi aksi pertarungan mereka yang sangar tapi sekaligus lembut, itu beneran bikin mulut gue menganga. Brutal, agresif, hardcore namun sekaligus indah. I really love it ! It’s my kinda woman !
Disini ada karakter karakter Amazonian yang berhasil mencuri perhatian gue, terutama Antiope (Robin Wright), Jendral kaum Amazon yang jadi mentor Diana sekaligus adik dari Ratu Amazon, Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen). Antiope ini dari bentukan muka sampe kelakuannya udah garang, keras kepala, namun cukup sabar dan telaten saat menghadapi Diana. Lalu chemistry yang ok antara Hippolyta dan Diana kecil (Lilly Aspell). Hippolyta berhasil menggambarkan karakter seorang ibu yang saking sayang anak, dia jadi over protektif terhadap Diana kecil yang bandel. Efek dari sikap Hippolyta ini secara langsung tentu saja membuat Diana remaja (Emily Carey) sering meragukan dirinya sendiri. Yess, I’m really relate with this kind of things. Untung Diana memiliki mentor jempolan yaitu Antiope. Disini gue suka adegan ketika Diana kecil yang bandel kabur dari baby sitternya yang kewalahan, demi mengamati latihan perang kaum Amazon. Ekspresi dan gestur Lilly Aspell jempolan disini, ia mampu memperlihatkan sosok anak kecil yang penuh semangat, penuh rasa ingin tahu, tapi sekaligus bandel dan rebelius, dan itu terlihat natural mulai dari sorot matanya. Gue suka karakter bocah yang kayak gini nih.
Namun tentunya yang paling poll adalah chemistry Diana dengan Steve Trevor yang connect banget. Akting Gal Gadot sebagai Diana disini, gak usah ditanyalah ya ... Ia sangat wowza sekali. Diana, perempuan perkasa, cerdas namun naif dengan dunia diluar Themiscyra berpadu dengan Steve Trevor, kapten tentara yang tingkat kemaskulinan dan kemampuan combatnya biasa aja, namun sangat suportif. Hal ini tentu saja banyak menimbulkan adegan adegan awkward yang kocak. Awkward momen paling jempolan buat gue ada dua yaitu ekspresi Diana saat pertama kali liat lelaki yaitu Steve Trevor, dan mungkin saat Diana pertama kali liat titit lelaki, hahaha. Namun selain itu chemistry antara keduanya juga menghasilkan romansa dengan tone yang “warm and soft”. Steve Trevor sebagai tentara bukannya intimidatif namun justru suportif, plus know his role & weakness, sehingga justru menimbulkan simpati Diana terhadap dunia lelaki yang baru dikenalnya ini. Selain itu akting dari teman teman Steve Trevor, yang salah satunya diperankan oleh Ewen Bremmer, para combatan World War 1 yang terlihat “soft” di medan perang, justru semakin menegaskan simpati Diana. Buat gue Chris Pine sangat sukses disini dalam memerankan Steve Trevor. Coba kalo pemeran Steve Trevor ini muka muka machoistis sejenis kayak pemeran Thor, bisa ancur nih film ... hahahaha.
Dan yang jelas poin plus lagi gue kasih ke casting director film ini. Bagaimana dia memilih para aktor dan aktris yang pas, para supporting talent yang pas, disini patut diacungi jempol. Semuanya terlihat pas. Coba semisal dulu kenyinyiran para haters dan para fans otak lendir pada dituruti, bisa buyar semuanya. Wonder Woman pasti gak bakalan jadi fighter yang ok kalo toketnya segede mimpi jorok fans otak lendir karena pasti bakalan boing boing kayak bola basket dan menghalanginya beraktifitas. Para perempuan Amazon juga bakalan terlihat sangat aneh kalo dadanya harus rata, karena menuruti omongan kritikus feminis yang masih baru belajar sejarah Scythian yang jadi cikal bakal mitologi kaum Amazonian. Bahkan ketiak Gal Gadot yang bersih pun masih terlihat alami dengan garis garis lipatan kulit yang terlihat jelas dan tone warna kulit yang tidak diputihkan, karena toh ini bukan film propaganda feminis yang memuja bulu tubuh dan bulu ketiak.
3. koreografi fighting yang damn cool !
udah gua bilang diatas kan kalo cewek cewek Amazon itu para petarung sejati yang attitudenya beneran hardcore dan sanggup bikin titit cowok cowok muka tengik itu jadi kayak babi brisik dikejar pake tombak alias kencing celana. Skill combat Amazonian ini diatas rata rata semuanya, mulai dari pertarungan pedang, panahan, lempar pisau, menombak, sampe gebuk gebukan. Tapi yang bikin keren pake banget adalah mereka melakukannya kayak tarian balet.
Gue coba deskripsiin nih ya ... level heitz yang paling awal adalah lompat dari tebing ke pantai, lalu saat badannya terikat pas dengan tali dia lompat menyamping sambil manah orang. Lalu back flip jump yang tinggi sambil manah beberapa orang sekaligus, dimana dia melakukan ancang ancang lompatan dari perisai para Amazonian yang lain. Bahkan rekor side kick jump terbaik milik Chou Yun Fat tiap kali dia tembak tembakan sama mafia Hong Kong aja masih kalah wow. Nah itu tanpa berkendara ... lalu pada saat berkendara kuda, mereka mampu melakukan manuver manuver keren seperti ... sliding seperti kayang diatas pelana untuk menghindari serangan lawan sembari melakukan serangan balik, ataupun melompat tiba tiba meninggalkan kudanya lalu melakukan back flip jump sembari mengayunkan pedang atau melempar pisau ... ini koreografi combatan kavaleri terbaik yang pernah gue liat. Film film laga kolosal lainnya sepertinya belum mampu mencapai level ini. Lalu bagaimana saat pertarungan jarak dekat ? simak saat Diana bertarung melawan tentara Jerman. Mulai dari cara dia menepis berondongan peluru menggunakan bracelet dan perisai yang terlihat ritmik semacam tarian zumba, lalu keluwesan dia melakukan sliding tackle sambil mengayunkan pedang, dan masih banyak lagi. Buat gue semua koreografi fighting disini ibarat perpaduan yang pas antara tarian balet dan musik hardcore.
4. sinematografi yang kece
Gue biasanya ngeliat film film superhero banyak mengelaborasi komposisi shot shot padat dan shot shot medium dengan tipe editing yang cut to cutnya rapat. Namun beda dengan Wonder Woman. Gue lebih banyak melihat perpaduan shot shot lebar dan shot shot medium ketimbang shot shot padat. Hal ini gue rasa dilakukan guna mengestablished keindahan landscape Themyscira yang sekilas kayak teluk Numbai di Jayapura - Papua, lalu keindahan koreografi fighting kaum Amazon terutama saat pertempuran di pantai, dan kemampuan combatan Wonder Woman saat melawan tentara Jerman. Dan ini semua seringkali dilakukan dengan tingkatan perekaman frame per second yang tinggi, sehingga memungkinkan untuk dilakukan mekanisme editing speed ramping (perpaduan cepat lambat dari fast forward dan slow motion) ala film 300 untuk mengelaborasi keindahan koreografi fighting mereka. Buat gue tentu saja ini semua memanjakan mata penonton ya. Gue terhibur banget dengan tata cara seperti ini. It looks so legit !
5. ilustrasi musik yang pandai memainkan mood
Gue pertama denger ilustrasi musik Wonder Woman yang digarap Rupert Gregson William ini via teaser awal dan gue dapat kesan kok nada nadanya catchy kayak illustrasi The Girl With Dragon Tattoo. Bedanya Wonder Woman berirama mars yang spartan sementara The Girl With Dragon Tattoo musiknya industrial. Namun makin kesini, seiring dengan lebih banyak trailer yang beredar, bahkan hingga keseluruhan filmnya diputar, kuping gue merasakan hal yang lain. Ilustrasi musik di Wonder Woman ini mampu memainkan mood penonton, ia bisa membawa mood penonton menjadi mengharu biru, ataupun penuh semangat ala prajurit Sparta. This is plus point here ... karena ilustrasi musik lo gak semata mata mendominasi dan intimidatif kayak di film Suicide Squad, namun melalui mixing yang harmonis juga memainkan mood dan mengantarkan / menghidupkan cerita di film Wonder Woman tersebut. Thumbs up buat Rupert Gregson William.
Nah gue udah bicara kelebihan film Wonder Woman ... how about the weakness of this movie ?
Gue ngerasa weaknessnya cuma satu ... yaitu
CGI pada saat final battle yang terasa kurang wowza aja.
Final battle antara Diana versus Ares pada saat World War 1 berlangsung di markas tentara Jerman. Di point ini secara logika seharusnya pertempuran berlangsung sangat sengit dan kolosal. Seharusnya desingan peluru, ledakan bom, dan granat terjadi dimana mana. Namun desingan peluru, ledakan bom dan granat terasa sepoi sepoi aja, berbeda drastis dengan saat pertempuran di front line yang beneran sengit dan heroik. Secara logika pula seharusnya pertempuran ini sangat kolosal, namun entah kenapa para prajurit yang terlihat disini jumlahnya jauh dari kolosal. Penggambaran Ares sebagai dewa perang pun jauh dari imajinasi gue, bahwa Ares adalah sosok raksasa mematikan dengan kemampuan dewa. Well, Ares memang tampil menyeramkan dengan armor metalik yang memberi kesan ganas lewat sentuhan CGI. Namun dengan tata sinematografi yang banyak memframing secara wide, justru memberikan menurunkan derajat kegarangan Ares sebagai dewa perang. Semestinya dengan framing framing wide, Ares digambarkan secara gigantik melalui tata cara matte painting, sehingga makin memblow-up kengerian perang tersebut. Gue seolah olah mendapat kesan ... “eh elu berdua berantem aja dulu ya, itu banyak lapangan luas kok, gede bangetlah buat kalian berdua, anggap aja rumah sendiri, kita mau kabur ke London dulu, kalo perlu apa apa, tuh masih ada sisa penjaga dikit”. Terus terang untuk final battle disini, walaupun menghibur, namun tetap masih kalah dengan final battle film DCEU lain yaitu Batman versus Superman, dimana Wonder Woman bertarung sengit dan mati matian bersama dengan Batman dan Superman melawan alien raksasa Doomsday yang bikin Gotham dan Metropolis berantakan penuh ledakan. Ini ibarat pertandingan tinju tanpa kemenangan KO.
But overall dengan weakness seperti ini aja gue masih teramat sangat menikmati film ini. This is wonderful step of DC Extended Universe, Wonder Woman is one step above Batman versus Superman and two step above Suicide Squad. Salah satu film terbaik dari DC setelah The Dark Knight dari Christopher Nolan. Bahkan paska menonton film ini gue kayak dapet feel yang sama dengan saat menonton trilogi film Spiderman dari Sam Raimi, one of the best superhero movie. Gue ngerasa feel yang campur aduk, seneng, haru, sedih, bangga, dll. This is what superhero movie must done. The most important thing is I feel that one of my childhood superhero fantasy is alive and kick ass. Buat gue, Wonder Woman is wonderful, 4 dari 5 bintang.

Hiii I'm here to propagandize Ivantill (Ivan and Till from hit visual media project Alien Stage)
Quick rundown of Alien Stage lore-- its x-factor but in space and if you lose you die. Humanity has been taken over, Earth has been blown up, humans are basically pets to aliens. They force them to sing for entertainment in competitions, and there's a special facility dedicated to raising singers. Till and Ivan meet there.
Ivan is generally apathetic to the world, while Till constantly rebels and is punished for it. One day Ivan follows Till to the outskirts of the facility, and is taken by his determination and tenacity (Till was fighting to protect a girl named Mizi, who he has a crush on)
Couldnt find a gift of the confrontation, but Mizi and Till are attacked by a guard dog?And Ivan is taken with Till's strong will. Anyways one day there's a meteor shower and Ivan breaks Till out of his restraints and tries to run away with him
But Till stops and turns around, because he's in love with Mizi. He chooses Mizi over freedom and Ivan
And we get this look from Ivan, who has lived basically his entire life submitting, and who took the risk once because he wanted to save the person he loved, and who got rejected.
So anyways Ivan goes back, even though he could have escaped without Till.
D then they grow up and get put in Alien Stage. They're put against randos for the first round, but next round they do they'll have to face each other
Anyways Till's song is about Mizi, while Ivan's is about Till
Look at his heartbreak. Look at his pining. The name of the song is Black Sorrow
Fellas is it gay to dedicate an entire song to how much you pine for someone with these lyrics
Anyways the true Ivantill experience cannot be met unless you actually watch the music video it's only 3 minutes and the singer really put his entire soul into it its so. Aughhh

okay hi cracks my knuckles. i want you, the reader, to submit Rashmelie (Rashmi Jamil and Amelie Macon) from Entropic Float. (i also want you, the reader, to play Entropic Float, which is available for free on steam and itch, but thats not really what this ask is about)
they have been pining for at least twelve years: the earliest record we have on them having feelings for each other is when they were 14 and Rashmi was leaving the town the two of them grew up in, while during the events of the game theyre both 26. if youve been following the t4t swag competition, you wouldve seen them there:
thats them! they are both canonically trans, Rashmi being agender (they/them) and Amelie being a trans woman (she/her). ooo you want a canonical t4t couple in this competition so badly.
unfortunately, i have not saved the rant i typed up on them in my own submission, so i cannot repeat all of that here to convince you about their pining in particular; what i can say is that one of the things the author of the game says about them is "it was always going to be them and it very nearly wasnt them" - during these years, Rashmi got married, and one of the first things we learn about their husband is that he has a substance problem and that he pushed them down a flight of stairs, which wouldve killed them had they not ended up in the anomalous clocktower, where the game takes place
