ok so I was rewatching Madokami’s Magia Record transformation and I gotta say
I LOVE this shot of Madokami.
making the shot blurry and so far away from Madoka paints her as this enigmatic figure who no one can get a clear close up picture of (similar to cryptids kinda).
This shot could also be in Homura’s perspective, showing how when Madoka became a god in Homura’s eyes she became so so far away from her.
not to mention the blurriness of the shot could represent how we’re not supposed to know if that’s truly madoka, perhaps representing how everyone’s memories of her was wiped when she became a god, only leaving faint traces of her existence (Madoka’s mom telling Homura that if she had a daughter she’d have her wear the red ribbons Madoka gave to Homura, and Madoka’s little brother sketching out Madoka in the ground).
this shot feels almost dream like, and almost nostalgic. Like you know who that’s supposed to be but you can’t quite grasp at who they actually are.

idk if this is like. a thing thats been theorised about before but,, ya know how madoka often contain actions that don't flow from one shot to the next?? like when sayaka's finished her fight with elsa maria and collapses, one shot has madoka side-stepping and pulling her arms up like this, away from sayaka and above her head
and then in the next shot sayaka's collapsed into madoka's arms (which are now at the same level as sayaka's biceps-ish). the whole clip seems like its missing a whole chunk of movement, like several frames or a whole shot feels like its just missing??
you see this a lot during madoka and i'm thinking... yeah it could just be a case of Animation Industry Just Be Like That but that's not fun and also not really how it works for projects as high quality as madoka... so i theorise instead...
is this, like, a reference to homura's whole thing with the time loops and stuff?? we might, in these sorts of instances, be seeing into how things played out in another timeline in these sorts of shots. we see sayaka transform back into her civilian form - shot cuts to another timeline in which madoka let sayaka fall on the ground - shot cuts back to our timeline where madoka caught sayaka.
idk i just think its cool to think about. you see a lot of these cuts with homura too esp when she's doing her hair flippy thing

The scene at the end of Puella Magi Madoka Magica where Tatsuya is drawing Madoka is so heartwarming to me bc (to what is implied visually) Madoka as the Law of Cycles only appears in front of magic girls who are about to be drowned in despair to heal them. But Tatsuya also sees her... I like to think Madoka still visits her family and specially Tatsuya. I think it is implied he sees her oftenly since his parents say that she is an imaginary friend :')
