Ivan, the Grey Wolf, and the Firebird
I wrote a retelling of this russian fairy tale a while ago, and illustrated it using the LoveNikki fashion game. The story writing was straightforward. The image generation was ... not. Like, it took a LONG time to get it all done, longer than I thought it would.
I wish I could have drawn out the scenes myself, but my art skills are LACKING, so I worked with the tools I had. Anyway, I thought about making this into one HUGE post but I figure it'll be kinder to spread it out and just have a bunch of posts all linked.
Or maybe the huge post would be kinder, and now I'm going to torture you all.
ANYWAY.
Here is my retelling. I hope you don't hate it.

the top 3 of the 50th Alien Stage is just so hilarious to me. You've got Luka, the shining, ethereal, glorious crowned ruler of the stage. Then you have Ivan, dark, alluring, sleek, and referred to as a prince in his own right. Both incredibly enigmatic, elegant and refined individuals (at least that's what they are to the audience). They're the perfect human pets, fit for segyeins of the highest class.
Then in the middle of them you've got this crazy ass who's never heard of shoes in his life, has eyebags like he's never heard of sleep either, is constantly biting at the restraints he's had since he was 9, and shows up to his life or death stage performances in a white t-shirt with fuck-knows-what spray painted on it. He also smashed open a literal living being on live television

what.... please elaborate i do not understand but i wish to....
So, I'm guessing you're asking about this post, where I speculate about Ivan's relationship with the dog-alien?
Here's a post where I talk about what "The Dog Alien Incident" is (or at least my interpretation of it).
(Long ramble/analysis/theory below!)
Now, this^^ was my interpretation of the scene before Round 6. But then Round 6 came out, and:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The MV shows Ivan seems to have some sort of relationship with the dog-alien. They definitely seem to have a deep level of trust. I mean, the alien is allowing Ivan to touch its teeth, and even going as far as LETTING IVAN LIE IN ITS MOUTH!? (Which like???? Go off I guess??? You do you??? But why would you want to??? He was tempting death at this point).
When I first saw this, I immediately jumped to conclusions and was like "Oh, he's insane, he's just like Luka, he planned this out, he was trying to kill Mizi-" because I was literally just recovering from the event which was Round 6.
But, now that I think about it, I don't think I stand by that theory anymore. I don't think Ivan would actively try to kill Mizi. I don't think he ever hated Mizi, as they've been shown to be quite friendly in their interactions, unlike Luka is with Hyun-woo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Would translate these properly if I knew Korean, but alas.. Maybe in the future, I'd actually love to learn the language-)
So, looking back at Ivan's relationship with the dog-alien, I think they were just friendly? Like, Ivan would just go hang out with the dog-alien whenever he wanted, just for some quiet time away from the other kids, since the place that the dog-alien(does it go by another name other than "dog-alien"??) resides seems to be secluded and hidden from the rest of Anakt Garden. I think it was just coincidence that Ivan found Till and Mizi together in that area (Mizi could have wandered off, perhaps to find Till, or Till was trying to follow her?). Ivan may have just stayed watching in the shadows just to see what would happen out of pure curiosity.
Tumblr media
Another thing!
Ivan's friendship with the alien (as well as him being allowed to roam freely without a collar) could have benefitted him in allowing him to escape the Garden with Till. The alien seems to be a guard dog of some sort (which could explain why it attacked Till, or it could've been just attacking Till because why the hell not-), and if it trusted Ivan enough, it's not surprising if it would let Ivan (and Till) pass by it and out of the Garden without alerting the AG Guardians.
Long story short: Ivan's very weird, but not as batshit insane as our favourite mentally-and-physically ill blondie, Luka <3
Hope this explains everything..?

LAZAREVIC SISTERS II
Princess Dragana Lazarevic
Tumblr media
Early Life
She was born as the second out of five daughters of Lazar of Serbia with his wife; Milica. Her date of birth might be around the late-1350s or early-1360s.
She is the namesaker of her paternal aunt; Dragana Hrebeljanović, the wife of a man named Musa.  She was likely born and raised in Prilepac with her eldest sister; Mara, before moving to Krusevac.
Not much is recorded or known about her early or later life, but most people believe her to the second wife of Emperor Ivan Shishman.
Marriage to…….. Shishman
A lot of Serbian sources are divided about the identidy of her husband, but he certainly was an imperial representative of the Shishman family, and they married around 1386.
Though Nikola Giljen, mentions her as the wife of Emperor Ivan Shishman, this seems highly unlikely, as Ivan was executated in June 3rd of 1395, and later that year in September, Dragana’s mother; Milica (Now Nun Eugenia) met with the fraternal council of the St. Paptelejmona monastery to discuss financial support that should be given to her daughters in case of poverty in widowhood.
Nowhere does it mention the recent widowhood of one of her daughters, it can then be concluded that she is not the second wife of Ivan Sishman, but instead the wife of his eldest son; Aleksander Shishman.
The confusion of her husband’s identidy might be due to the fact that Ivan Shishman proclaimed his eldest son; Aleksander as co-ruler and so by their marriage right both Dragana and Ivan Shishman’s second wife were referred to as “Empress Consorts.”
Nonetheless, nothing is known about the relationship she shared with her husband. Like most royal marriages at the time, it had more to do with the union of two houses into a paternership than a privy love affair.
As Turks
In 1393, Sultan Bayezid Han conquered Trpovo on July 17. Ivan and his family were captured, it does seems like Dragana was one of the family members who were captured.
In 1395, Ivan Shishman was executed by order of Sultan Bayezid. In the meantime Aleksander converted to Islam (It is unknown if Dragana converted with him) and became Iskender. Bayezid showed mercy to his kin and put him in a position of power, Iskender became the governer of an area near the Black Sea and was now referred to as "Iskender Bey".
Later Life
Nothing is known about the later life of Dragana, after 1395 Serbian sources lost track of her.
Wether or not she outlived her husband is unknown, but if she did this might confirm that she did in fact convert to Islam along side her husband and became Turk, which is why she never returned home; to Serbia.
Issue
There are no known decsendants of either Iskender Bey or Dragana.

💌 a lesser-known quote/passage from canon that you think best describes your favorite character
Tumblr media
I think his interactions with Ivan have a lot of meat to them, both in terms of conveying what he's actually like when he's not trying to be someone else, and showing the bones of the person he used to be/could have been that poke through the Armand we see in most of the books. And this, to me, is right at the heart of it. Look at this awful little bastard, he's perfect 🥰
(Also, I think it's hysterical that Ivan confesses to banditry and/or murderer and it doesn't merit so much as a raised eyebrow from Armand or Marius lmao)

i think the recurring theme of dostoevsky's that will always destroy me the most is when despite how much a character wishes and yearns for it, they continuously refuse pure and unconditional love when it's offered because they don't think they're worthy of it (and then hate themselves even more for turning it down). it will ruin me EVERY TIME

Once again chosen mostly at top of my head. You might think the ones who were literally murdered have an advantage, but some, I think, were murdered detachedly, in a mafioso “business is business” way, while others lived surrounded by someone who was focusing a full grown adult’s preoccupying hate into them.
So use whatever metric you want!
Paul I was suggested so often in my last poll and forgive me for forgetting the beef.
*beefed with the hardest
