MURDERED: Rivera/Martinez (Prime Time True Crime)
On June 24, 2019, 28-year-old Alyssa Marie Torres shot and killed her 54-year-old stepfather, Felix Rivera, and her 8-year-old daughter, Amarilyss Martinez, at their Port St. Lucie, Florida home. She had been staying at her parents house for several months. Alyssa used a handgun she’d taken from her stepfather’s closet and waited until a little after midnight to shoot him once in the head from the foot of his bed. The shot immediately woke her 53-year-old mother, Marisol Rivera, who suffered injuries to her head and face during a brutal pistol-whipping, but luckily, none were life threatening. Alyssa then ran down a hallway and shot Amarilyss in the head. After the murders, she fled the scene in her Toyota Rav 4. Alyssa was located in nearby Fort Pierce, about 8 miles from her parent's home, and arrested without incident, after a brief manhunt. She admitted to the killings and was charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Alyssa Torres pled guilty to avoid the death penalty and was sentenced to three life terms without the possibility of parole on December 4, 2020. Mental health issues were cited as the cause for the murders.

MURDERED: Alexis Gabe (Prime Time True Crime)
On January 26, 2022, 24-year-old Alexis Gabe went missing. Her family filed a missing person's report when she wasn't answering messages. The police determined that Alexis was last seen with her ex-boyfriend, Marshall Jones. The couple had broken up, but Marshall was reportedly distraught and threatened to kill Alexis and himself if she didn't get back together with him. Through the use of forensic, electronic, and DNA evidence, investigators concluded that Jones had killed Gabe the same night she disappeared, at his residence in Antioch, California. Despite not having a body, a warrant went out for his arrest. On June 1, 2022, Jones was located at a house in Kent, Washington, after being on the run from the police. When the police attempted to apprehend him, he aggressively charged at them with a knife and was shot and killed. In November, 2022, a resident of Plymouth, California, stumbled upon human remains, which were later identified as those of Alexis Gabe. Unfortunately, only a portion of her body was ever recovered, and due to its condition, the manner of death could not be determined.

MURDERED: The List Family (Prime Time Crime)
On November 9, 1971, 46-year-old John List took the lives of his entire family and disappeared for years. After sending the kids off to school, John shot his wife Helen in the back of the head while she drank her morning coffee. Next, he went up to the attic and shot his mother, Alma above her left eye. Patricia and Frederick were next, their lives taken when they arrived home from school. Then John left to watch his remaining son, John Frederick, play a soccer game. After driving him home, John took his son’s life. He wrote a lengthy letter to his pastor, claiming he did it to save his family’s souls. He took off the next morning, changing his identity to Robert “Bob” Clark, and began a new life. He settled in Denver, Colorado, where he would meet his new wife, Delores Miller, and move to Virginia. 18 years after the family's annihilation, the TV show America’s Most Wanted aired an episode on the case, showing a clay bust of John. A neighbor immediately recognized him and contacted the authorities. On April 12, 1990, John List was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences. In March of 2008, John List died due to complications from pneumonia.

MURDERED: Brian Cherry (Prime Time Crime)
In 1993, 23-year-old Peter Bryan beat 20-year-old Nisha Sheth with a hammer unprompted while she was working in her parents' clothing shop.
As a result, he was sent to Rampton Secure Hospital.
After making what doctors called "considerable progress," he was moved to the care of a psychiatrist and social worker in 2001.
On February 17, 2004, he was discharged entirely from the mental health unit.
He would proceed to murder his friend, 43-year-old Brian Cherry, that very same day.
He had purchased a claw hammer and a screwdriver, with which he inflicted injuries to Brian's head, face, and chest.
He then chopped off Brian’s limbs.
Peter went on to fry Brian’s brain and eat it.
He was convicted of murder and was transferred to different medical hospitals before settling in Broadmoor.
It was here that he would again take the life of another patient, 59-year-old Richard Loudwell.
In April, 2004, Peter beat Richard's head into the ground and wrapped the cord from his pajamas around his neck.
Richard would never wake up, and he passed away on June 8th.
Though he was originally sentenced to life, this was overturned, and his sentence was changed to 15 years minimum.

MISSING: Alexis Scott (Prime Time True Crime)
On September 22, 2017, 20-year-old mother Alexis Scott disappeared from a house party in Peoria, Illinois. She was dropped off by a cab driver, who reported that a man paid her fare and greeted her at the door. On September 27, Alexis' mother reported her missing. Investigators believe Alexis arrived at the party around 5 am and left shortly after. Her cell phone activity stopped at 5:08 am. The police interviewed neighbors, searched the house where the party was, and searched vacant houses in the area, but found no clues about Alexis' whereabouts. She had recently traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to work as a dancer and earn extra money. Unfortunately, she fell victim to sex trafficking and was taken to Sacramento, California. She managed to escape and was found by a woman on the street. After contacting her mother, she returned to Peoria, intending to resume her normal life. Police learned that the man she went to Las Vegas with knows the owner of the house where the party was held. They fear she may have been trafficked again. Unfortunately, her case remains unsolved.

MURDERED: The Bain Family (Prime Time Crime)
On June 20, 1994, at 7:09 am, 22-year-old David Bain called emergency services and told the operator his entire family was dead. Officers rushed to Bain's home on Every Street in Dunedin, New Zealand. They found Bain's 58-year-old father Robin, and his 50-year-old mother Margaret deceased. They also found a typed message that read "Sorry, you are the only one who deserved to stay." His 3 younger siblings, 19-year-old Arawa, 18-year-old Laniet, and 14-year-old Stephen were also found deceased. All 5 had been shot to death. Four days later, David was arrested and charged with 5 counts of murder. At his trial, the prosecution argued that David killed his family for his inheritance, but David maintained he was on his morning paper run at the time of the murders. David was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. In 2007, he was released from prison and granted a new trial. In 2009, his defense team argued that his father Robin had killed the family, killed himself, and spared David's life. David was found not guilty on all charges.

MURDERED: Eric Richins (Prime Time True Crime)
On March 4, 2022, 33-year-old mother of three Kouri Richins, allegedly murdered her 39-year-old husband, Eric Richins, by giving him a cocktail mixed with a lethal dose of fentanyl. Kouri told police she had made her husband a drink and served it to him in bed at their home in Kamas, Utah, to celebrate her selling a home for her real estate company. She said she then went to stay with their son in his bed because he was experiencing night terrors. In the morning, Kouri found Eric unresponsive and called 911. Eric's autopsy revealed a fatal fentanyl overdose, with a level in his system five times the lethal dosage. Investigators got a search warrant for the couple's home and found several communications between Kouri and an acquaintance discussing fentanyl. On February 26, 2022, she allegedly bought $900 worth of fentanyl. Less than a week later, Eric was dead. A year after his death, Kouri published a children's book on grief, titled "Are You With Me?" that was inspired by her three children, and their experience coping with the loss of their father. She is currently facing charges of aggravated murder and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

MURDERED: Sarah Everard (Prime Time True Crime)
33-year-old Sarah Everard was abducted, sexually assaulted, and murdered by off-duty London Police Constable Wayne Couzens on March 3, 2021. Sarah had left a friend's home at 9pm in South London and had a two-mile walk home alone to Brixton Hill. Not long after her walk began, a camera caught Wayne arresting Sarah and placing her in his rental white Vauxhall Astra. A judge would later accuse him of arresting her under the guise of violating COVID restrictions. At 11:43pm, Wayne had transferred Sarah to his personal SEAT car. Between 12 and 1am, phone data would place Wayne in Dover where he reportedly murdered her. At 2:34 a.m., Couzens purchased drinks from a Dover gas station, then changed back into his rental car so he could return it. Sarah's boyfriend reported her missing the next day. Wayne attempted to cover up his crime in the days that followed by burning Sarah's body and possessions, then transporting her remains to a nearby pond on the rope walk in Sandwich. On March 10, 2021, Sarah's body was found by divers, and Wayne was arrested and charged with murder. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
