I feel like Price would stop smoking for his partner, not out of love (although it's always about love when it comes to her, but this time, it's an indirect result of it), but out of concern.

The thing is, Price loves a headstrong woman, but marrying her is a double-edged sword. One side, her loyalty is unwavering, but so is her will.

She hated it when he smoked, it made everything around him smell terrible. Not only that, it's slowly taking away his beautiful voice.

She'd say that it's going to take him away from her, or that their days together will be shortened if he keeps smoking his cigar. But he'd comfort her by saying that 'he's a healthy man' and 'he'll probably live longer than her'.

Of course, she didn't buy into his reasons.

After months of persuasion, she decided that it's not enough and stepped up her game.

One morning, she pulls out a pack of cigarettes, and begins to smoke at breakfast.

To this day, nothing beats his surprised face that morning.

When he asks her why she starts to smoke, she gives him all of his answers to the same questions.

It makes me relaxed. It helps me focus better. Just feel like it.

And when she's feeling a little mean, she'll say; "You know I'll follow you anywhere. If you decide you wanna leave the earth faster, so do I."

And that horrifies him,

The thing is, they both knew that she did it out of spite. She hates the bitter taste of nicotine, and she despises the smell as it gets into her hair everytime. But she keeps going, to the point that she'll buy the non-filter cigarettes.

That's when he decides to stop.

(If anyone asks him what's his biggest weakness is, he'd say it's his wife and her guts.)

He stops smoking almost immediately—not reducing his nicotine doses gradually, but straight up stopping at once.

Of course, after years of addiction, it'll be hard for him to cope with the withdrawal syndrome. He'll get a bad headache, mood swings, and a nasty cough. He'd come back to his old way, if not for his wife's support.

She compensates him by cooking him delicious meals, listens to him when he's stressed, and lets him have his way with her whenever he wants.

Months passed, and he began to feel better. Although he doesn't want to admit it, he does feel that his health is improving. He can run faster, he's experiencing less fatigue, and his mind becomes clearer without the help of nicotine.

His relationship also improves, as she doesn't mind kissing him for hours. They'll go for rounds, to the point that it's tiring her out. Which is a surprise, since she has good stamina.

The boys weren't shocked when they first learnt about it, they said it's bound to happen, sooner or later. Though Soap wasn't happy with it, as he lost the bet with Gaz.

Overall, he's happy with the results. What more can he ask? He already has a loving wife <3

I'm on an OC kick and also super indecisive so I spun a wheel (thank you for choosing for me, RNG).

Ricardo is a body guard and is bffs with Marlo. Ricardo's current job is watching after a celebrity's daughter who the public doesn't know even exists. She's just a teenage girl vibing with her mom and getting texts and calls from her dad (who loves her a whole lot and keeps her out of the spotlight very purposefully) and has this bodyguard and his weird friend. Marlo is just vibing with his best friend.

(Also Marlo would absolutely laugh if he heard Ricardo say "someone called me eye candy and it wasn't you and now I think you should call me that")

storyline rundown

part two

the story begins on kakarot's farm! he lives with his parents, bardock and gine, and his brother raditz.

kakarot takes his produce to the market to sell, talking to krillin who is a police officer watching over in case of robbery or stolen goods, with his wife 18 and his daughter marron.

he hangs out there and sells all his produce, making a whopping amount of money to give back to his mother to go towards their farm. so thats what he does.

later that night, raditz barged in through the door, huffing loudly and covered in purple blood. it had a reddish tint. gine and bardock jump to their feet, bardock still in his training gi and gine in her white shirt and some sweatpants. "raditz!? what happened?" bardock exclaimed, gine following up with "why are you covered in... purple blood!?" this caused kakarot to come out of his room in a rush, "h-h-holy s-shit! i didnt kill anyone i swear mom, mom, dad please, i wouldn't do that!" raditz panicked. "s-something tried to attack me! i didnt know what to do so i attacked back!!" he tries to wipe the blood off, it being on his face.

whatever happened, scared raditz enough to make him shake in fear and what seems to be regret despite it being to protect himself.

kakarot however, still was unsure what happened. his father said he would explain in the morning, the situation was too dire for kakarot to get involved - especially with the police.

in town, vegeta covered his bloodied chest, panting as he hid deep in an alleyway. "goddammit," he huffs, slicking his hair back to keep the human bangs out of his face. hes got a huge gash across his chest, thanks to that damned raditz he happened to work with. luckily, he was morphed into some other alien lifeform and not his original shift state. he slowly morphed into a bird, a finch, and flew off to him apartment. he always kept his window cracked just in case this were to happen. just his luck, we wont be able to eat and to heal he needs that energy for food or else hell be out asleep for awhile.

he decides calling off work, so thats what he does. what he doesnt expect is a man with a thick ass fucking tail and slicked back purple hair and red eyes to be reading a book, lounging like a king on his bed. "f... frieza!?" vegeta says, startled.

"ah hello my creation! lovely seeing you here, dont you think?" he throws the book off to the side, getting up and striding over to the bloodied vegeta. "aw looks like you got a paper cut." he jabs a finger into vegetas cut across his chest. vegeta groans in pain, a tentacle whipping around to hit frieza away into a safer distance, but the icejin blocks smoothly with his muscled tail.

wow!! you found out vegeta is a "creation" of friezas, but what exactly does that mean?

raditz gets taken in for questioning. he gets blamed for a murder that happened on the otherside of town, the law system being dumb sentenced him to 25 years in prision for a murder he didnt do

kakarot is confused, bardock telling him there arent any alien threats and it was a misunderstanding on the jury and judge's parts bc raditz was getting mugged and a murder far away happened at roughly the same time, and they were desperate to throw someone into jail.

this is a lie, to some extent. kakarot believes it, living happily thinking there are no threats

vegeta attacked raditz, needing food. shapeshifters need to eat hearts and lungs of animals as food

raditz is the one who cut him across the chest (thatd why he has a scar on his chest in the ref sheet)

kakarot has to bring crops and milk into a market farther into town sometime in the next week, it being an event ran by capsule corp, a company that produces a lot of housing and vehicles and being in business for 40 years being the anniversary that day.

vegeta is a mechanical manager, wearing fancy clothing that day since its technically a high spot in the ranks for capsule corp.

vegeta likes milk, surprisingly. it helps a lot when recovering damage, especially his species. this is when he meets kakarot

kakarot is running his stand with the crates of crops and glass jars of milk set out on display with their price, krillin with him

vegeta is annoyed he has to speak up to get the seller's attention so he grunts with an "ahem"

kakarot jumps, apologizing and asking what he wants to buy. vegeta gets his milk and some vegetables for someone he knows

"hey, whats with the fancy suit?"

"you dont know who i am?"

"no. should i?"

"i-? im vegeta! im manager of the mechanics in capsule corp!"

"oh. is the job hard?"

they conversate, as kakarot sells his produce happily listening as he was able to get the short man with a temper to talk about his job.

vegeta himself was caught off guard by this action but happily talks

this ends in kakarot running behing the stand's curtain and grabbing his business card so vegeta can have a discount on milk next time he decides to buy

vegeta takes the card walking off

the card has kakarots name and number on the back, a message saying "text me personally if you want extra, i dont mind taking some. you seem cool!"

vegeta is a bit ticked, but pockets the card

over time, vegeta and kakarot talk over text a bit, kakarot delivering him milk like an old time milk delivery boy

turns out he actually used to be one as a kid

turns out hes been into marial arts as well, a long time interest of vegetas

they bond over this, kakarot find himself growing a crush on vegeta

one time kakarot stops buy with a delivery unannounced, not knowing he typed the text but didnt send it. he knocks on vegetas apartment door, but no answer.

he checks to see if its unlocked, and it is so he lets himself in, just wanting to put the delivery on the counter and head out.

he doesnt expect to turn around and see a vegeta with a towel wrapped around his waist, tentacles coming out of his back, green eyes, and sharp ears, teeth, and claws. "K-KAKAROT!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" he yells, surprised. he doesn't have bangs either

"why do you have tentacles?? why do you look different? why do you have that scar?"

vegeta is caught off guard, not sure if he should push kakarot out or tell him the truth. one way or another he knows the truth will spread, so he carefully debates his options

he tells kakarot the truth, hes a shapeshifter and hes insanely dangerous

kakarot is surprised dangerous aliens exist

he tells vegeta this, and deep down vegeta is mad kakarot is sheltered

little do they know as they conversate and bond, growing closer to each other kakarot finds out vegeta made a vow not to ever get in a relationship no matter how much he envied them, especially a human relationship, a certain someone is watching them and listening in, theyre keeping tabs on vegetas and kakarots feelings

trust issues amirite?

later that night, kakarot says his goodbye heading home, heart pounding. wow!!!! vegeta is... great. very great. kinda cute too, i mean what!?? no!!

kakarot rants to himself aloud in his room, window open to keep himself cool, about vegeta as he debates his feelings. he doesnt care if this seems out of character in his friends terms, all they see from him anyway is a dense fightcrazed guy with a dysfunctional relationship with an ex and his son. he realized vegeta doesnt see him like that, but, what DOES vegeta see him as?

he calls it a night

he wakes up to a "thwap, thwap, thwap" against his wooden floor

he sits up, looking around and seeing a short figure sitting at his desk.

"whos there?"

"ah, youre awake monkey! i have valuable information for you, about your lovely vegeta." the voice is squeaky

"and, who is telling me this?" kakarots interest is piqued, not seeing the mysterious figure as a threat, as of now at least

"oh-hohoho! im dr. cold! but please, call me frieza. doctor cold is my father's name."

"and what do you have to tell me about vegeta?"

"mmm, are you sure you want to know?" he gets up, beginning to pace

"theres a catch isnt there" kakarot realizes, serious

"oh! maybe you arent so dense afterall. yes, there iss monkey. its simple, deliever some of your left over crop to my facility tomorrow, i already left the address on a paper over on that... pitiful little desk of yours." frieza pauses. "vegeta will kill you if you arent careful. hes hungry, and he wants that heart. but... i think the poor creation wants it in more than one way. kill him before he kills you."

frieza hands kakarot a box cutter

"thats the only thing that will kill him. if you dont do it i expect that delivery tomorrow by midnight. if you dont show, and theres no news of him being dead, youll be a brilliant collection to my creations, monkey!" the man laughs in joy, clasping his hands together as his red eyes pierce through kakarot

kakarot reluctantly agrees, unsure how this will play out

Evelyn took a step back in shock and fear.  They had been monitoring everything to make sure that this didn't happen--that Terex didn't get close to her.  Yet, here he was, standing in front of her in that chaos filled square, blaster trained on her.

Terex smiled at her. "You seemed surprised to see me, Miss Skywalker. You know, I couldn't make it obvious that I was here--otherwise, we both know Dameron would have left you behind--safe and sound with the Resistance." He glanced over his shoulder briefly. "And, my dear, speaking of Dameron--we need to get going before he comes to and realizes what is going on.  I really want to do this with as little blood spilled as possible."

"Really? The bombs kinda put a kink in that plan," Evelyn snapped, stepping away from him further. "And I'm not going with you."

"I will stun you and drag you out of here if I have too," Terex warned her. "Let's not make a scene."

BB-8 rolled forward then, his shock arm extended and he zapped the unsuspecting First Order agent.  He dropped his blaster and Evelyn took the opportunity to turn and run. She would have gotten away, she would have been able to use the chaotic scene around her to escape--if someone hadn't been waiting for her to try just that.  She slammed into the solid body and gasped. Behind her she could hear BB-8 frantically beeping. For the briefest second, Evelyn felt relief wash through her--until she realized that Oddy was standing there holding a blaster at her. "Oddy? What are you doing here?"

Oddy glanced nervously at Terex. "I'm sorry, Lieutenant, I didn't have a choice. I didn't want... I didn't want to hurt you or Commander Dameron--I consider you my friends--but he has my Sowa."

Evelyn turned and glared at the First Order agent, making her feelings for him quite evident on her face.  "Bastard, using someone that he loves against him to get what you want.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised from someone that worships the Emperor."

Terex gestured with his blaster.  "Let's go, Miss Skywalker; you have an appointment to keep with General Hux and I have a payday to collect on."

"You can tell General Hux I respectfully decline his invitation," Evelyn snapped, feeling Oddy grab her by the arm.

"Please, Lieutenant, please do as he says."  He grunted when she caught him in the stomach with her elbow, knocking the wind out of him and forcing him to release his hold on her.  

She scrambled away, trying to find a means to escape, but now Terex blocked her path, blaster aimed at her.  Evelyn stepped back, swallowing anxiously--for the first time in years she reached out to the Force, drawing on its power, its energy, and she ripped the blaster from the First Order agent's hand--straight into her own.  Behind her she could feel Oddy, and with the blaster aimed at Terex, she held her other hand out and froze the mechanic in place.  "I told you--I wasn't going with you."

Terex smiled at her, willfully. "I see why they're so interested in you--quite the display of power, Miss Skywalker."

"You haven't seen power yet," Evelyn snapped at him. 

"Then show me," Terex dared her, throwing a vibroblade towards her.  

Quickly, Evelyn reached out and flung the knife aside, but that meant she released her hold on Oddy. She managed to scramble out of his reach, distracting him by throwing a crate at him through the Force.  She felt Terex behind her but before she could react, Poe came out of nowhere and tackled him to the ground, landing a right hook on his jaw. 

Jumping to his feet, Poe reached for her hand and grasped it. "Let's go, Evie! Run!" Pulling her through the crowd, Poe headed back towards their ship.  "Snap!" he shouted into his commlink, "start the damn ship up! We need to get out of here fast!" 

Evelyn heard Snap respond to him that they'd be ready to go once the other pilots made it back to the ship.  She glanced behind her to see BB-8 was furiously rolling behind them, along with Terex and Oddy giving chase.  When she saw Terex had obtained another blaster, aiming at them, she shoved Poe out of the way, just before the blast bolt hit him in the back. Instead the blast grazed his arm and Poe let out a cry of pain as he fell to the street, clutching at the wound.  "Poe!" Evelyn cried out, reaching for him and helping him get back to his feet. "I'm sorry! He was going to shoot you in the back... I didn't know what else to do!"

Poe shook his head and kept running.  They were almost to the ship.  "It's fine, I'll live," he ground out, in obvious pain. "It's more important that we back to the ship and get the hell out of here." They were so close--Poe could see their ship--and then Terex stepped in their path, blocking their escape.  Poe skidded to a halt and turned in the opposite direction but it was fruitless--Oddy blocked that means of escape. Even if the pained look in his eyes gave away that he did not want to hurt them, both Poe and Evelyn knew that he would, if he had too, to protect his wife.  Clutching Evelyn's hand, he pulled her behind him, protectively standing in front of her. 

"Step aside, Commander," Terex ordered him.

"No, I won't let you take her," Poe growled. 

"I'm going to enjoy blasting you," the First Order agent snapped, priming his blaster.

"Poe... let me go," Evelyn whispered.

Shaking his head from the sudden fog, Poe glanced at her. "No, Evelyn--I won't them take you to him."

Clenching her jaw, she reached out and repeated, "You have to let me go." 

Blinking, Poe let go of her hand and stepped back. "I have to let you go."

A tear slid down her cheek as she felt Terex grab her arm.  Evelyn let him pull her backwards; she hated that she was tricking Poe like this--but she had too.  Otherwise, they would kill him. "Poe, you need to get on the ship. You need to leave." And he did--he got back on the ship, in a daze of course no thanks to her.  Evelyn stood there, tears clouding her vision as the ship lifted into the sky. It wouldn't take him long to figure out what happened.  She knew he'd be furious.  She just prayed that if she made it back to the Resistance she had not broken whatever trust he had in her.

Terex led her back to his ship, locking her in a cell.  He didn't say a word to her; didn't even look at her.

Evelyn stood back from the force-field and swallowed, anxiously.  "Where are we going?" she asked, hating how timid her voice sounded in that moment.

"Kaddak," the First Order agent replied.

"Kaddak?" Evelyn repeated. "That lawless planet is where you're handing me over to General Hux?"

"Oh, no, that's not where I'm handing you over--we're going there until I get paid."

"Worried that the First Order might double cross you?"

He laughed, glancing at her. "I've been around long enough, Miss Skywalker, to know that you always make sure you get paid for your services before delivering the goods.  Otherwise, you will get double-crossed and end up broke."

She wrapped her arms around herself, hugging tightly to stem the wave of anxiety washing over her.  "And if General Hux refuses to pay you? What are you going to do with me?"

Terex shrugged. "I'm sure I can find someone in this galaxy willing to pay my price."

Evelyn felt sick to her stomach. "I'm just a transaction to you, nothing more."

"I'm sorry, my dear," Terex replied just before he headed towards the cockpit of his ship, "don't take it personally--it's just good business."

Kaleb had only ever seen Poe this furious once before--and he was so wrapped up the fear and ramifications over Evelyn being captured that he couldn't even recall what his friend at been mad at.  However, right now, from the moment the yacht had touched down... Poe was on the warpath. The pilot was angry at everyone it seemed--Terex, the First Order, himself--Evelyn.  He seemed to be the most angry at her, for using the Force against him.  Kaleb was surprised she had resorted to such a tactic but he knew why she had done it.  "Listen," Kaleb said to the commander once he had stormed into the command center, trying to calm him, "she only tricked you as a last resort. To keep you and the others safe."

Poe clenched his jaw. "Really? Have you ever had someone violate you like that before, Kaleb? Have you ever had someone take control of your mind without even asking? Of course not! Because you're Force sensitive and would be able to fight it off! That isn't the case for someone like me!  I trusted her to never do something like that and she did it anyway!" 

Leia held her hand up when she noticed that Kaleb was going to counter.  Her nephew took a step back.  Gently, the general placed her hand on Poe's uninjured arm.  "Poe, she did it to protect you--do you think you would have gotten away?"

"We were so close, General," Poe said, shaking his had sadly. "She didn't give me enough time to come up with a plan."

"Terex would have killed you before then," Kaleb threw out. "Evelyn did you a favor."

"I let my guard down," the commander mumbled. "My gut was telling me that Oddy was involved..."

"He fooled us all, Poe," Leia pointed out. "Now, let's just focus on getting Evelyn back safe and sound. We still have time to mount a rescue but we need to act quickly."

Poe nodded and rubbed his hand over his face. He didn't even know where to being to look for Evelyn or location for where Terex could have taken her.  BB-8 bumped him in the leg and beeped, softly.  Glancing up, Poe set his jaw. "You're right, buddy. That map of First Order bases might help us.  Can you call it up?"

BB-8 was rolling to the center of Leia's office, when someone knocked on the glass.  Leia gestured for them to enter, watching as Major Brance stepped inside.  He waited for the door to shut behind him before speaking, "General, Commander Dameron is receiving an encrypted message--from Kaddak."

Leia quirked an eyebrow in his direction. Poe glanced at her, horrified. "Kaddak? I promise you, General, I do not know anyone on that planet. I don't know why someone would be contacting me from there."

"Well, play the message," Kaleb snapped at Brance. Maybe, if they were lucky, it was information on Evelyn's whereabouts. 

"Captain, the message is intended for only Commander Dameron," Brance said, eyeing Kaleb, cautiously.

"Major, I give you permission to play it in front of everyone," Poe said, crossing his arms over his chest.

Brance sighed and handed a data chip to Leia, who inserted it into the holoprojector. They watched as Oddy's image was projected.  Poe's shoulders immediately stiffened as the mechanic began to speak, letting them know that Evelyn was fine--for the time being. "Agent Terex is waiting to get paid before handing Lieutenant Skywalker over to the First Order, if you hurry, Commander, the Resistance might be able to save her. I've sent you schematics of Terex's complex here on Kaddak, Commander--security codes--but you must act quickly. I... I need to go... I am so very sorry... I didn't want to hurt Lieutenant Skywalker... but he left me no choice."

Poe's jaw twitched as Oddy disappeared from the projector. If Terex found out that he'd sent that message to the Resistance it would mean death for the mechanic.  He glanced at Kaleb and then at Leia.  "General?"

Leia nodded. "You and Kaleb need to leave immediately--bring Evelyn home."

But theres also a shower gift to account for Tammy You should completely ignore wedding etiquette sites when they give an exact dollar amount for a gift, especially one as weirdly precise as $175. Thats just weird, bad advice. Give a thoughtful gift you can afford. Pick something from the registry that you can afford and then also write a nice handwritten note to go along with the gift expressing your best wishes for the couple in your own words with your best penmanship. Anyone who looks negatively upon a gift given to them is a person lacking in character. Gifts should always be given freely based upon what the giver can easily afford. Q4: Starbucks Visa As a Starbucks lover, is the Starbucks Visa worth it? How does it compare to popular cards like the Chase Freedom? Lana Well, lets walk through the hypothetical example given in their sales pitch. In that example, youre spending $525 a month for a year, $25 at Starbucks and $500 elsewhere, so that adds up to $6,300. Lets say you use the card for two years, so the total is $12,600. This earns you 64 rewards in the first year and 28 rewards the second year, totaling 92 rewards. A reward is a drink or food item at Starbucks and appears to be at least somewhat Starbucks choice. Lets assume these are worth an average of $4 each, so your total rewards are $368 in value. To get that reward, you also have to pay $100 in annual fees on the card. So, youre getting $268 in value, all in the form of Starbucks items that you largely cant select yourself. Thats a little over 2% in rewards in the form of food items that are probably good but you cant select yourself. Thats not really the best card deal out there, and its going to decline in value each additional year because you only get that big bonus the first year. I dont think this card is worth it unless you drink a lot of Starbucks, in which case you might want to rethink how much youre spending in coffee shops. Jim My first recommendation for first-time homebuyers is Home Buying Kit for Dummies by Eric Tyson (seriously). Its an extremely good guide to what people should know about buying their first home, and Sarah and I read an earlier edition thoroughly when we were considering buying our current home. Ignore the for Dummies part its a really good guide. From there, Id hone in on which aspects of home buying arent crystal clear to you and read articles and find books to fill in gaps in your knowledge. If I had to pick a second book, Id probably look at 100 Questions Every First-Time Home Buyer Should Ask by Ilyce Glink. While its not as thorough as the Tyson book, it does delve nicely into specific areas of the home buying experience and can complement specific areas of the Tyson book well. Q6: Frugal running shoes For a new years resolution I followed your advice and started a resolution of running for 1 minute every day this year and running more if I feel like it but not required. Its been working great! I have been running about 20 minutes a day on average on warm days and at least running a block or two on the really cold days. I thankfully have a spot to run on snowy days. Anyway Im writing to ask for frugal advice on running shoes. I used to be a big spender back when I was running and bought expensive shoes constantly. I whipped my finances in shape during a time when I wasnt running for various reasons but now that Im back at it, I need to figure out a way to do this without spending $100-200 a month on shoes. Ideas? Tom Lets get this out of the way right now: I do not advocate anyone running in worn out shoes. You are begging for various physical problems by doing so. You should be replacing your shoes 300 to 500 miles or every 18 months, because the sole of the shoe simply wears down. Look at the bottom of the shoe and see if you see a lot of creases on the shoes bottom and theres significant discoloring thats a great sign of wear and you should probably get new ones. My recommendation is to find a good mid-cost model that really works well for you, buy a pair of them, and then stalk out bargains on that specific model. I have either personally liked or heard very good things about ASICS Gel Venture, Nike Revolution 4, and Adidas Cloudfoam, all of which are available under $50 a pair with ease, so try those. Once you have a sub-$50 pair you really like, just watch very closely for bargains on those shoes and buy multiple pairs at once if you find a really good deal. You can watch them on Amazon by using tools like Camel Camel Camel, for example. Q7: Roth IRA contribution question I decided to put some money that I got for Christmas from my wonderful generous grandparents into a Roth IRA. I opened one through Vanguard and went to deposit the money and they asked if it was a 2018 contribution or a 2019 contribution. Which should I choose? Not sure of the ramifications. Julie Since this is a new Roth IRA meaning you havent made any contributions to a Roth IRA in 2018, I assume and Im also assuming that (a) you havent filed your taxes for 2018 yet and (b) the amount youre contributing is less than $5,500, then you should make a 2018 contribution. Each year, youre allowed to contribute up to $5,500 to your Roth IRA starting in 2019, that limit goes up to $6,000. That window to contribute starts on January 1 of a given year and ends when you file your taxes for that year early in the following year. So, until you file your 2018 taxes (some time before mid April), you can still make a 2018 Roth IRA contribution, and you should do so because that window is about to close forever, plus it leaves the 2019 contribution window wide open. This is a great thing to be doing with a gift from grandparents, by the way. While they might want you to do something fun with that money, if you told them that you put it aside for your future, theyll be proud of you and for good reason. Heres another good Roth IRA question. Q8: Roth IRA or bigger e-fund? I have about $3,000 in an emergency fund which would be enough to get by for about two months. I am single with a 7 year old daughter. I have about $1,000 surplus in checking. Should I add to the emergency fund or add to my Roth? Nowhere near contribution limits for the year. Amy First of all, I want to say that I am in awe of what youre pulling off here. Youre a single mother who not only has a healthy emergency fund, but is also concerned about saving for retirement. You are on the ball and deserve kudos for that. Second, two months of living expenses is a good healthy emergency fund. If I were in your shoes, I would probably make the Roth contribution with most of the surplus, leaving a little behind in checking as a buffer. Then, I would set up an automatic transfer from checking to savings each week $10 or $15 or $20 should do. This way, your emergency fund automatically grows slowly over time and if you have to tap it, you know its going to refill over time with no further effort. So, Id probably contribute around $750 to the Roth IRA, then Id set up a $20 per week automatic transfer into my emergency fund going forward. Q9: Unwanted Christmas toys My kids receive an absurd number of gifts for Christmas each year. For the last few years, my husband and I have actually removed a few items from their pile that they were less interested in and put them aside to see if they remember them and if not we quietly sell them and put the money in their 529. Youre putting the gifts that your children arent interested in aside for a while, giving it some time in case they do think about them, and then if they dont, you sell them off and put the money aside for their college education. Your sisters response might have had something to do with the fact that she apparently put a lot of thought into the gift and your child wasnt interested in the gift, which hurt her feelings. This is one of those situations where you should just give it a little time and talk about it when the situation is less raw. I think your sister will see the sense in what youre doing. Q10: Marketing crocheted baby blankets In late 2018, three extended family members had babies so I crocheted a blanket for each one. The recipients seemed to genuinely love them and two suggested that I try to sell them. I enjoy making them but I dont even know where to start. My suggestion would be to go relatively low in price at first cover the price of the yarn and make a little for yourself, but not a mint and then raise it if your blankets become popular. Jenna When Im in a situation where I dont know what to do, I usually write it all out. Im a huge proponent of doing three morning pages, which is a journaling technique where you sit down each morning and just brain dump three pages of writing in a blank journal. I try really hard to do that every day, and it often turns into a forum for me to take a problem in my life and turn it over thoroughly with pros and cons. I usually need to really understand a problem first before I can look for meaningful advice on it. Quite often, this process will make the solution to my problem screamingly obvious. The next step, if journaling doesnt give me an answer, is always to talk to my wife, even if the advice I need involves her. So my friend and I were out driving his car and when he got out at a store, I hopped in the driver's seat. I have a class 5 license, so it's all legal there. We weren't speeding or doing anything illegal, we had nothing to hide, so everything was legit. However, pulling out of a four-way, an officer pulled us over because our tail lights were busted. Of course, I had no idea and basically the officer just issued a warning to my friend (he's the owner of the car, so he did most of the talking). Why not sell medical insurance like Auto insurance?

I know this is long but please bear with me. Rather than set up a separate government run medical insurance or expansion of medicare to the general public....One criticism of government care is that it will be in direct competition with existing providers. Ultimately siphoning insurance customers away from traditional plans and onto the rolls of govt care causing these providers to go out of business. Here in my state the auto insurance companies MUST offer the same basic minimum coverage in order to do business in the state. Everyone here must have at least the same basic level of insurance (both auto and medical) . You can go to any provider you choose and this basic minimum insurance level costs the same . If you want more insurance you can pay for additional coverage. But that basic plan is available to all. So why not have a similar program for medical insurance as part of a nation wide group policy. This group can be subsidized by the government but it would be managed by the existing insurance providers. (In other words if you want to be in the insurance business you must offer and support this minimum plan which would be a foundation for any other plan you offer) The govt pays the insurance company a flat rate to manage each person enrolled in the basic plan. The more money the company saves (the better they manage the insurance) the more money they keep. However if that company provides poor management it will cost them. Either subscribers will change management companies if they feel they are getting a raw deal or wasteful management would not be payed for by the government. One advantage I see here is that consumers would have an alternative providers to go to if they feel wronged by a particular management company. Insurance providers also have an incentive to offer additional services to the basic plan members in order to attract more subscribers and earn money. With a govt program like medicare your stuck with the one provider (the governement). As they say One Choice is NO Choice.... If someone wants additional insurance they can buy additional coverage from any provider they choose. But No one could be denied coverage for the standardized basic plan. Since everyone is part of this national group policy the basic insurance is portable and independent of supplemental policy one may have. So if you change jobs or move to a different state you may loose the supplemental policy BUT your basic coverage remains intact. You merely transfer the company that provides the management services for the basic medical. Insurance providers would get paid by the fed to manage the participants in the basic plan for each participant in the basic plan. this would put market forces into play for the insurance providers to make money by attracting additional participants through better service or offerings. COunter to this is if the consumer gets crappy management services they can transfer to any other insurance provider.

Annularis means having rings and is probably in reference to the barring pattern on the side of the fish. White crappie are a wide-bodied panfish when viewed from the side, with a slim profile from the front view.
