Today we painted the little one's wall with potato print and handprints. I feel we are or rather I am finally moving from a state of constant stress or numbing out to reaching a place of actually doing stuff that we otherwise don't take the time for. Make a potato print stamp

I used some metal cookie cutters to make my shapes and oil paints that I had been given.

Hot tip, don’t use oil paints on something that you need to continually work on. They take forever to dry. Also oil paints on paper is not a good idea. The oil seeps out of the paint and dirties the page.

All the little marks you see on the bottom are me testing the paint with my finger and wiping it on the page. Took a week to dry properly, so I was propping it open while I worked on other pages.

This was where I figured out that water colours were for me.

Potato Prints

I created some potato prints over the weekend using blue and green acyrilc paint.

Primarily, I was thinking of the windmill I pass on my runs; the towering white monster whooshing as its propellors spin. The windmill belongs to a Johnson Johnson factory and it towers above me, like a great oak.

I want to explore the idea of windmills more, in relation to my theme. I feel it fits in well with sound and connection in relation to Biophilia.

Windmills utilise the wind as a natural resource to create energy. Windmills highlight the progression of renewable energy and the relationship between man made objects and the environment.

SPOILERS CRAFTIES DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED TODAY’S VIDEO

I think this was the best way to end their craft channel, and it was a good time to end it. Potato prints was a very creative craft too. When Dan stared into the camera after he said Don’t cry and Phil wasn’t their to say Craft with him, it honestly made me kind of sad. I always thought that Dan sacrificed himself to Satan, but I didn’t know he would make Phil go. Perhaps the daily struggle of putting out 2 videos of quality crafts was too much and they decided this was the only way they would find peace. Of course now they are going to have to serve Satan for the rest of eternity, so they really won’t get peace will they? So my fellow Crafties, even thought it is over, they will live on in our crafts. What we’ve learned is not to sell your soul to Satan, no matter how hard it gets. Remember: Don’t cry, craft!
