Democratic Archive is an invitational printmaking exhibition examining the artist's complex relationship to social and political institutions. Through the autonomous process of printing these artists continue to force the debate on critical issues affecting all Americans, in order to illustrate the underpinnings and foundations of present activist efforts. The exhibiting works provide an indirect but powerful critique of ideological constraints, allowing people to engage, learn and become more involved with current pressing matters.
