Si una selección europea juega de manera física, lo está haciendo tácticamente... Si una selección sudamericana o africana lo hace, es conducta antideportiva
"When a European team plays a physical game, they're being tactical.... if it's a South American or African team, it's reprehensible behavior"
I want to hear the outrage against the English now. I want to hear, after that gross conduct from James, that ALL of the English team are disgusting, aggressive, and don't belong in this game.
We all know WHY we're only gonna hear the player condemned and not the whole team.

I'm upset that this probably means that Vilda will remain Spain's coach. I think it's clear to anyone that follows women's football that they won this tournament in spite of him, not because of him but that's not how the federation will see it. I hope they can leverage it in this way but I'm not sure they'll be able to which sucks. Bitter sweet for the players who won and all bitter for those who stood up against him and took themselves out of contension/weren't selected

hello I would like you all to know if you do not know already that the RSA WNT (South African Women's National Team) nickname is Banyana Banyana!! This brings me so much joy because the men's team nickname is Bafana Bafana!! They mean "the girls, the girls" and "the boys, the boys" respectively in isiZulu/Zulu!! I like the similarity and that they saw the opportunity and took it.

All the people worrying about the sexist trolls and conservative keyboard warriors taking to social media to be misogynistic and just straight up c*nt-y about the uswnt getting knocked out:
Fear of that happening is not reason enough for wanting your team to have made it through. I'll tell you why. Because that's the reality everywhere. Every other team in this world cup has that same reality back in their own country. For you to escape that fate by coming out on top - "silencing the haters" - is for others to suffer that fate when they get knocked out. Women somewhere will face that backlash.
Going out and looking for the vitriol, or worse, broadcasting the vitriol that comes across your feeds even further by reposting it and pointing at it and saying "see this?? this was my fear, everyone look at this sexism, wasn't I right to fear?" just increases the reach and the influence of the c*nt-y sad assholes.
You do the work for the pathetic man*sphere types by taking their shitty uninformed hot-takes buried deep in some Instagram comment thread or some Twitter hashtag, and then propagating them around even further for more eyeballs to be subjected to the splash of their verbal diarrhea. So please for the love of saving others' eyeballs and braincells, refrain from doing that.
If you wanna write about the fear of misogynistic backlash in women's tournaments please do. Make it nuanced. But please don't just go reposting shitty shit takes as some sort of validation of your right to fear in the first place.

Overall this tournament has been an incredible display of football. There have been spectacular goals, amazing saves, tension, penalties, drama on and off the field. It's been everything you want from a world cup.
The only thing that has let it down is the refereeing. In my opinion there are still far too many incorrect decisions being made throughout the tournament and honestly VAR has helped with this but not enough.
