Proposed:

Vegas and Porsche spend a whole bunch of time plotting to kill Korn, only for Macau and Chay to get there first.

Some intense questioning and emotional manipulation by his Hia finally get out of Macau that he lied when he initially told everyone that he stumbled into Korn and accidentally knocked him down the stairs when Korn grabbed his wrist during an argument, but he wanted to protect Chay. He says that the two of them didn't think people would believe Korn fell accidentally when Chay tried to push him away from Macau, after Korn grabbed Macau's wrist during an argument.

Some emotional manipulation by Porsche does not get anything out of Chay, who just looks at Porsche with big wet eyes from under his bangs and doesn't uncurl from the corner of the couch in Tankhun's rooms.

Some intense questioning by Kim does not get anything more than a "fuck off" out of Chay when Kim 1) calls bullshit on Macau's confession to Vegas and 2) accuses Chay of now taking the rap for Macau because they all know that no one would ever believe it was an accident when the displaced second son of the minor family pushed Korn Theerapanyakul down the stairs during an argument.

(Kim is not ... entirely correct. He's not entirely wrong, either, for all the good it does him.)

Kinn gets nothing out of anyone, because neither of these kids trusts him as far as they could spit. If Kinn was the least bit trustworthy, Vegas would be head of the minor family and Porsche would not - this is something both Macau and Chay have been in agreement on for a long time.

Tankhun takes one look at both of them in tears, Macau practically hyperventilating, just after they're pulled away from Korn's body in the stairwell - these two boys who previously have always been protected in one way or another from the dirty work of this family - and he KNOWS there was nothing accidental about it. He's just not sure who actually did the pushing, so he keeps his mouth shut because he doesn't really care about Vegas's brother, but no one is going to do anything to his baby chick Chay if he has anything to say - or not say - about it. (Pa shouldn't have given him a kid, if he didn't want something more important than Pa in Tankhun's life.)

Tankhun's right about one thing - it wasn't an accident.

Macau never - ever - admits to anyone that they did it together, 1-2-3-go, when Korn made the mistake of turning his back to them while he was at the top of the stairs to Nampheung's garret. Occasionally, Macau will catch Pete looking at him speculatively, head tilted just a bit, and Macau just stares back with the blandest look he can manage until Pete shakes his head and looks away. (These are, in fact, the only times Macau can manage to win a staredown against P'Pete. He doesn't realize how suspicious that is, in and of itself.)

(Macau never, ever, wants Vegas to know that their family - who Vegas tried so hard to protect him from - stained him enough that he could commit murder, even if it was in order to protect his Hia.)

Chay tells Porsche three years later during an argument right before Chay packs his things and moves out of the main family compound for the last time. He doesn't tell Porsche that Macau was the one to first send a significant look Chay's way when Korn dismissively turned his back on them at the top of the stairs. He does tell Porsche that he's the one who gave the final go-ahead nod to Macau.

(Chay absolutely wants Porsche to know that the Theerapanyakul family - who Porsche exposed him to - stained him enough that he could commit murder in order to protect his Hia.)

kimchaycau headcanons because yes absolutely

aka macau being the absolutely WORST because my canon is kimchay (romantic) and macauchay (platonic/bromantic)

macau being the touchy little man from the minor family he is, always always has his hands all over chay. he has an arm around chay when they’re out partying as a sign of protection and because it makes chay feel a lot more comfortable. macau's hands tighten slightly where they rest on chay’s thigh whenever his father is brought up. it verges on too tight but chay lets him until macau’s hand loosens and his shoulders relax.

macau kisses chay on the forehead whenever kim is around just for the sake of it and it makes kim want to pull his hair out.

macau and chay always having little gossip girl sessions about their love lives. macau groans into a pillow as he relays his interactions with the gorgeous doctor he’s interning with and chay giggles. chay is blushing to no end as he tells macau about his first time and macau is awwing at how sweet and nice chay’s partner sounded, taking good care of chay, until porchay hits him with the ‘p’kim’ and macau has a heart attack

a stoic kim comes up to the two who are eating lunch together at the table. he stares pointedly at macau who looks back at him with a puzzled look. ‘what?’ kim doesn’t reply, but his eyes darken. ‘what?’ macau repeats himself. ‘move.’ ‘oh? why?’ kim’s hands ball into tight fists because vegas would kill him if he hurt macau in any substantial way. kim settles for pinching at his cousin’s ear and dragging him off the seat. macau yelps and concedes. kim slides into the chair next to a very confused porchay. ‘how was your day chay?’ ‘um,’ porchay looks past kim to see a pouty macau holding his ear and storming off, declaring that vegas will hear about this, ‘i’m doing well p’kim.’

porchay and kim are talking about getting married. well, more like porchay is creating a very VERY intricate hypothetical of their wedding as kim lies there, agreeing every so often to chay’s outlandish ideas. porchay stops talking suddenly and turns to look at kim with those big, sparkling doe eyes kim loves so much. ‘you know macau has to be my best man.’ kim stiffens, ‘macau is not invited to the wedding’

whenever chay and kim fight, macau is the first person chay turns to as a crying mess. macau is immediately ‘wtf he’s an asshole, you deserve so much better than him, you can do so much better than him. his dick isn’t even that big anyways, we don’t want no short dick man in this house. divorce papers now. here, let’s dye your hair green.’ but then as soon as porchay is out of tears and passed out in macau’s bed, the youngest theerapanyakul is skrr skrr’ing on his Ducati to his cousin’s and immediately grabs him by the collar all ‘what the hell you doing man, get your boyfriend back you pussy. beg for him back, on your knees. that’s your mans, you can’t give up on love bro, ohmygod go to him. LOVE HIM LIKE YOU MEAN IT, LIKE YOU NEED IT.’

macau calls porchay one night when porchay is with kim and asks to speak to his cousin. chay puts the phone on speaker and kim leans in slightly, confusion on his handsome features because why does macau want to talk to him? ‘p’kim, guess what?’ ‘what?’ ‘i just had sex with dr tap and he’s so much better than you! chay, i’m so sorry you’re stuck with such mediocre dick!’ the phone hangs up and kim is cursing so many profanities, chay begins to learn english.

macau always send kim ‘get better soon’ cards, not because kim is sick, but as a warning that he better be treating porchay right or there will be hell to pay

kim is the one who pays for macau’s therapy and sets him up with the best psychiatrists possible because he knows what it’s like to be trapped in your own mind and a quiet, pensive macau is much more terrifying than an obnoxious, little shit stirrer macau

macau regularly dresses up in kim’s sparkly leather jackets, statement jewellery and plays random chords on kim’s guitar whilst singing cheesy love songs to chay like a yowling cat. he ends it by smashing the neck of the guitar onto his knees and breaking it rockstar style before kim strangles him

what i would like to see in kinnporsche season 2:

first off, MACAU.

we barely got enough of him to fawn over, i was actually very upset we hardly saw him. he's vegas' brother, so he should be an important character. i need his backstory, i want to know more about him. i would also like to see some sort of dynamic between him and porchay. they would look good together ngl.

secondly, FLASHBACKS.

this could be anything, really. if we get more macau scenes in the next season, flashbacks could give us an insight of what happened behind doors with vegas, macau, and his father. who knows, maybe his father did have a lover (like in the novel) except, all that was undiscovered so it can progress onto s2. just some sort of indication that could potentially introduce venice bc i want him in the series. it doesn't matter how he's introduced, i only want venice to be a part of vegaspetemacau's lives. i'd like to see moments prior to vegas waking up in the hospital too.

third, TRUTH.

it's pretty obvious that khun korn is still hiding something and i feel like kim is still investigating. the two most definitely connect. there are still many mysteries to consider, it can't be left unexplained. did khun kan die for nothing? what was he even going to say before he was shot? i feel like not enough was said, there is still something left to talk about.

fourth, ARMPOL

they're together in the novel right? so why can't they be a thing in the series? i would very much like to see this happen, they give me life and the actors have lots of chemistry behind the scenes. i don't see why they shouldn't be included. this also goes for taytime because wtf is up with them? i need more insight on their relationship cause one seems to be suffering.

Hell, your brother hates me.” He said, waiting for Chay to break off of him and scorn him. “I really don’t think you’re supposed to be, uh-” “Hugging you?” Chay asked, causing Macau to stutter.

Notes: This is my fic baby and my first kinnporsche fic. I;m planning on a three-part series with this as the first part. Macauchay is the cutest ship and this fic goes from fluffy smut to angst and political mafia stuff really quickly.

Kim didn’t cry when he scraped his knee or bumped his head. Kim didn’t whine to a teacher when someone said something mean to him, and he didn’t break down in any circumstance, even in those that would leave his classmates floundering.

“Really?” Kim asked, hoping that his voice wasn’t too shaky. There was no way his father had just given him his blessing to become a musician. Just a few years ago, he had told Kinn that bearing your heart out in sound was letting people see right into your every thought. He had said it was a weakness, and Kim could count with his fingers on one hand all of the times he had changed his mind after making it up on something.

“Yes.” His father replied, not even looking up from his newspaper now. Even if he was doing it solely to hurt Kinn, his father had acknowledged him, called a decision of his acceptable. He had been trying for years to hear those very words, and now they were being handed to him on a silver platter, alongside his older brother’s biggest dreams.

The performance went down like usual, his eye being caught on a few people who exhibited a significantly higher amount of emotion from his performance than the others. One was a nerdy kid with a bowl cut and glasses, another was a girl wearing a skirt that was probably too short to be actually conforming to her school’s dress code, and the final was a boy with big eyes and a blue dress shirt on. As time passed and he continued his performance, he couldn’t keep his eyes from falling on the boy again and again, being drawn to him and his magnetic personality. Kim wondered in the back of his mind what it would be like to be friends with a person like that, who was so effortlessly happy.

7. Post a snippet from a wip.

When Vegas gently releases his wrists, Pete has a brief moment of thinking that he fucked it all up, but then there is a hand on his cheek, soft and strong and comforting all at once. It remains gentle, running along his jaw, his pulse point, before settling securely around his throat.

His other hand slides under Pete’s shirt, finding the warm skin of his waist. He doesn’t push or pull, just rests there, steady and gentle but not quite enough. Closer, Pete thinks, pull me closer.

11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

feeling very called out rn! you know how i write fics and the answer is very very messily! i have adhd so i always jump around — i’ll be writing one thing, then think of something completely unrelated and have to get it down before i forget. in some (read: all) rough drafts, i’ll have a million bits and pieces of unfinished sentences floating around. even while writing this it’s very out of order. the issue with this, though, is that i’ll write a future scene, then be unsure how to connect them — or i’ll end up going in a different direction altogether :’)

i’ve been making an effort to stop worrying about what i’m writing and just let the thoughts flow, which definitely makes a difference in terms of how much i jump around scenes.

18. Do you enjoy research? Which fic of yours required the most research?

oop was it bad that my first thought was about my long ass unfinished doctor who fic from years ago? i love that fandom but there’s just so much lore.

i do enjoy researching to an extent; it really depends on how interested i am in the topic. i guess that’s also the adhd huh. i think sometimes research feels too much like a uni assignment for me, but at the same time i can be a perfectionist about accuracy so 🤷‍♀️

24. How do you choose whose POV to write in?

i guess it really depends on whose mind i want to explore. but sometimes i don’t think i even consciously choose whose pov i’ll write, instead the character climbs into my brain and takes the reins. i’m kinda a sucker for a single pov unreliable narrator, but that’s a flaw i’m working on jhfgshj

39. What’s your most self-indulgent wip?

hmm. maybe not the most self indulgent, but my most personal wip rn is (what will hopefully be) a series delving into vegas’ mindset post-canon — heavy on the healing from trauma. it’ll be about as painful and therapeutic as you’re thinking.

i also have some unhinged vegaspete smut in the works, and am planning a longer chay-centric post-canon macauchay fic, with a lot of found family and learning to stand up for himself. so those are pretty damn self indulgent too.

43. Is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?

uhhh everything? jhgshds well i have a long list of fic ideas that i’d like to tackle eventually. a few ~classic tropes~ on there include a soulmate au, sugar daddy au, and some cheeky magical realism. would also love to write a time loop fic and and good old whump too.

77. Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction?

i get to put my favourite characters??? in any situation ever? ??? no but.. i guess at the moment i love exploring all the different possibilities we never got to see in canon. i love getting into characters’ heads and learning about them and myself in the process. and sometimes i just love writing my favourite characters fuck nasty.

OK, I’ve been poking at Moonlight Chicken, and this is my first time with EarthMix, and as ever, these days, everything SOMEHOW comes back to KP, and this time, the thing is ... The thing is, there’s something about Mix - something about his face, I think - that keeps reminding me of Ta.

And so I’m watching this manic pixie dreamboy hitting on this older, responsible shopkeeper, and out of the corner of my eye I keep vaguely seeing Macau. And then I keep thinking - I’m a big MacauChay fan, but if we posit some kind of KimChay going forward, and free up Macau ... NOW I keep imagining Macau sneaking out nights to pick up older guys. They’re all very respectable, responsible guys - Macau has a type, and it is in NO WAY someone dangerous or volatile, thank you very much, he had and has enough of that bullshit in his life already, in various and sundry ways - but they’re definitely all significantly older than him. And meanwhile, Pete and Vegas are worried that he’s out doing drugs or fencing stolen computer gear or getting into some kind of trouble, and they’re trying to figure out why he’s skulking around and sneaking away at night, trying to figure out what he’s doing hanging out at the night markets instead of in bars or clubs like they’d expect, trying to figure out what kind of bad connections he’s making - but no. Macau is just busy sleeping his way through all of Bangkok’s very responsible, respectable Daddies. (Possibly his apocryphal crush on Dr. Top from the books is part of this pattern, now that I think about it.)

Chay, meanwhile, is super-down with this and is, in fact, Macau’s partner in crime, allowing himself to be dragged to night market after shop after restaurant in Macau’s hunt for very respectable, responsible prey, and giggling behind one hand the ENTIRE TIME. He’s possibly even more indignant than Macau is, after Pete Vegas Porsche Kim (fml, trying to figure out SOMEONE in this little clusterfuck of a family who could actually do stealth is a TASK, I tell you what) surveils them, finally figures out what’s going on, and HYPOCRITICALLY outs Macau’s penchant for older men who like younger guys to Vegas and Pete. Chay cannot BELIEVE you would ever think he would let something happen to Macau on his watch, P’Pete! He PERSONALLY vets every guy Macau sleeps with, and that is not actually as bad as it just sounded when it came out of his mouth!

Pete is barely keeping himself from pointing out Chay’s OWN questionable choices, and meanwhile, Vegas has entirely given up on the task of terrorizing his little brother over this for the opportunity to smirk pointedly at Kim, who’s standing back in one corner, trying to stay out of anyone and everyone’s line of sight and pretending he’s not the BIGGEST HYPOCRITE in this room. I mean, at least Macau is in university, by this point.

Macau is keeping his mouth shut because why incriminate himself, but he knows that Vegas better not be a classist asshole about where Macau’s been pulling, lest Macau point out Vegas’s own apparent penchant for rough-trade working-class bodyguards, Hia. Sorry, P’Pete, but you’re the one who taught him to use whatever he could find as a weapon in self-defense. Just because you meant hand-to-hand combat doesn’t mean he’s not smart enough to know it works in interpersonal chess games just as well. (Thanks for nothing, Uncle Korn, you fucking fuck.)

I like this. I’m going to think about this some more.
