Meet and Greet the Neighbors
We have uncovered a few scripts and character artwork about the wonderful new cast neighbors. Let's meet a colorful feathered friend who keeps up with the fashion trends.
Tumblr media
Paisley Peafowl
"Need a new outfit for a special occasion or just need something fashionable and functional? Paisley Peafowl can help you look your best with fun and groovy designs that no other neighborhood has ever seen! Creativity and inspiration have no limits for this fashionable peacock."
Paisley was seen in the special as the local tailor of the Woods who has a dream of becoming a world-famous fashion designer. He would create clothing and costumes for the wonderful cast of neighbors, even getting inspired to create wacky clothes with multiple uses. Paisley would have stated that he came from a part of the woods where the trees sparkle with glitter and feilds of soft rainbow cotton to make the softest colorful clothing around.
From what we have gathered about Paisley's puppet, it is rumored to be a walk around puppet that may have stood around 6 ft tall. A little shorter than Poppy's puppet and, unlike Poppy, had a live hand counterpart made for when he is seen inside Corey's shop or around the neighborhood. His segments usually consisted of him making clothing on his sewing machine. Teaching veiwers about pattern making, shapes, and colors.

Whiskey's character got sabotaged immensely. The turn heel villian trope doesnt fit the character we see. Also its the exact same twist as the first movie when the head of Kingsman turned out to be a double agent bad guy.
Only Whiskeys character doesnt lend itself to that trope. Why didnt they just leave in the idea that the alpha gel messes with your interpretation of the world around you if youre left unchecked. Harry was let out on a mission right after the bar incident proving he was incapable of handling it and thus he misread a genuine mistake from Whiskey as intent.
Whiskey comes back from the alpha gel and his mindset leaves him in the likely angry and vengeful man he was when his wife died all those years ago. Maybe Harrys accusation towards him tricks Whiskeys not fully rewired brain to think he WAS apart of the plot. Only to realize who he was truly right before Eggsy is defeated by the Golden Circle and save the day.
And he gets a heartfelt moment where he talks about how angry and hateful he was when he lost his wife and child. But that its been 20 years. He cant be angry anymore, that yes he has made genuine mistakes and he admits he may need to take a step back and work on some things. Apoligizing to Ginger for his own ego getting in the way of her own career desires, and by stepping back a bit he hopes leaves the door open for her to still take on some feild work as she expressed interest in.
Also like... in our world you exist and Eggsy uses your existence and how much you and Whiskey care about eachother as a way to help bring his mind back and remember who he truly is.
He moves back from New York to live back on his cozy little ranch, where he works on himself and you two finally end up admitting your feelings. And he tells Champ that he thinks he should take on a more HQ based role and have less missions taking him away for so long. And that he belongs here in Kentucky, not up in the city anymore. Also he wants to dedicate time to you, time and love that his former wife never got due to his Statesmen work being in prime time. That you deserve the man he wants to be, not the one the alpha gel and Harry made him out to be.

Yes to ALL of this anon!!
I admit that I have not actually seen the first Kingsman movie, but here is the thing that frustrates me to no end about The Golden Circle: writing that is not just bad, it’s also LAZY.
Whiskey being the villain (or the secondary villain, I guess, after Poppy) makes no sense. It’s a plot twist just for plot twists’ sake (and not even a plot twist unique to this movie in the Kingsman franchise, apparently!). They try to have him justify it with his speech about his wife and child, but it feels so rushed and tacked on.
It’s also an uncomfortable, ugly, outdated way to think about drug use and substance use disorder. And I get that that’s partly (at least, I hope) on purpose, that of course Jack would hold those kinds of views. And I get that the whole franchise is supposed to be this over-the-top, camp-y ultra-violent romp, but you still have to hold your audiences’ attention and get them to continually suspend their disbelief and go along for the ride you want to take them on. But at every turn the writing of this movie makes me wrinkle my nose in distaste and go, “Wait, what? You’re kidding, that makes no sense.” You can make a film where someone can say, “huh, that makes no sense, but I’m having so much fun I don’t actually care.” This movie makes me say “huh, that makes no sense, now I’m annoyed, please stop this ride I want to get off.”
Jack could have been such an interesting, layered character if Matthew Vaughn gave a shit about actual character development. But instead he kills Jack twice - TWICE!!! - in this movie and for that he is forever on my shit list.
But I think Pedro still gave us everything he had and made this character someone whom the fandom has now plucked from Matthew Vaughn’s hands and said “Okay that’s enough from you, we will take this character from here.” And fandom Whiskey is just so much fun to play with. And he deserves that happy ending, anon! Along with a whole metric fuck-ton of therapy.

This week I finished off my ‘chasing the light’ drawings. I added details and colour to my drawings to give it that finally touch to then digital edit them. Each one is different I did try and incorporate my theme into them. However, some of my designs I just did my own style but they still could be incorporated into my conflict and peace theme.
My first drawing I tried to stick with warm colours as I wanted that to represent the anger between people during conflict. The reason I choice to do this piece on anger is because during conflict that emotion is one that stands out towards all the rest. As well as that emotion can be very evil and lead you towards dangerous decisions which could effort or kill millions of people lives.
The next drawing I tried to do my own twist on a floral stained glass window. The reason I choice to do my own version of a floral stained glass window was because of religion. Religion is a subject were it can cause a lot of conflict between different members of communities. However, being apart of that religion can create peace how they person. The last on is another replica of a stained glass window but this one isn’t as adventurous as the first. This one I sort of stuck with the shapes I created and just went with it to see what it would turn out like without a plan. I think it turned out well but I just personally think it isn’t my strongest drawing more like one of the weakest and boring ones.
The third drawing I based it on bright colours of a field. The reason I choose to base my drawing on a field because they are very peacefully and when I’m stress and angry. I tend to go to somewhere like a field which is peacefully and quite to calm down. I believe that the colours I choose really complemented each over and made it standout much better. I know it doesn’t look like a field however that’s what I tried to base my drawing on and I think it turned out beautiful.
The last drawing I did was a poppy. I choose to create a poppy in my design because in WW1 they were a sign of a solider dying there and now laying to rest. I believe they are a sign of peace and conflict because its a reminder not to create conflict. As it could lead to millions dying but its a symbol of peace for our country and for those millions of soldiers who died for our country.
To improve, I would use a different media than just sharpies. However, my time management skills were not great this week so I didn’t really have time to use another media. So, I would like to improve on my time management and use different medias. To take this work a step further I am going to digital edit.

please put both references to tasmanian crop circles in your fics and a springboard to research tasmanian crop circles in your fic finding out little interesting references is the best especially when its something you've never heard of before. anyways im off to look up tasmanian crop circles cya
haha, anon, buckle up because it is a very funny ride (over a kind of terrible and globally devastating series of policy decisions and bullshit pharmaceutical profit chasing, but, y'know, capitalism *jazzhands*)
Key points of knowledge:
1) Tasmania, as most people know, is part of Australia.
2) Tasmania, as most people don't know, is one of the largest growers of (licit) opium poppies in the world. Much of Tasmania is, in fact, covered in opium poppy feilds.* It supplies something like over HALF of the world supply of licit opium poppies (illicit is another ballgame).
Opium poppy, by the by, is where we get...opioids and all the derivatives thereof from, such as morphine, heroin, codine, and, well, opium, as made famous by Ye Olde Opium Dens (and British foreign policy).
With me so far? good, because it's about to get extremely funny, for a definition of funny.
So, as far back as, uh, about the early 2000s, which is when the Great Southern Grow Op really kicked off, poppy farmers started reporting rounded patterns of missing crops in their fields. aka: crop circles. Like...a lot of them. For years.
In fields all over the state, weird circles and curving lines were intermittently appearing in poppy fields, and, crucially, no one could explain how they got there.
Which is not what you want, in general, and very specifically not what you want when your very lucrative crop can be used to make very illegal drugs.
Sidebar about crop circles, for a moment: the standard way of making crop circles is to put a stake in the ground in the field you wish to en-circalise, tie a rope to said stake, tie a flat plank to said rope, and then drag it around in a circle, crushing the crops as you go. It leaves fairly distinctive marks (all the crops are flattened in one, circular direction), and is generally kind of a pain in the ass but not, like, difficult. Drunk teens can do it.
The crop circles in the Tasmanian poppy fields were different. They weren't as precisely aligned as the usual board-and-rope circles, the ground itself was often ripped up, etc, and also, obviously, they were in fields full of plants that are raw materials for drugs, and thus somewhat protected not, like, corn or wheat, which...are not.
Which basically meant there were two options, both of which were, uh, Not Gr9.
Option 1, aka the logical option: people were breaking into the fields and stealing poppies to turn them into heroin/other drugs.
Problems with this theory: why the fuck were they making crop circles about it, and also, how the fuck were they making said crop circles, which were, again, unlike any other crop circles. Plus the haul was... pretty terrible.
option 2, aka the conspiracy theorist option: aliens did it, for alien reasons.
Problems with this theory: in order to be true, you have to accept that 1)aliens exist 2)are visiting not only earth but a random island on the ass end of the planet to 3)steal opium poppies and/or leave messages in fields of exclusively opium poppies despite 4)never having done so in the past or in any other location around the globe ever in the history of recorded time.
Like, if aliens were leaving 'jznzzk wuz here' doodles in opium fields, on the regular, someone probably would have noticed in the conservatively 7000+ years humanity has been growing poppies.
Obviously, neither of those two is a particularly satisfactory option; if aliens, um, fucking why, if humans, why can't anyone catch them or find evidence?
So it continued on for a while - like a decade, I think, the first articles I remember seeing about it would have been around 2009 - and then, finally, someone discovered the answer.
Wallabies.
yep. Remember, back at the start of the post, I said one of the key points was that Tasmania was part of Australia? Australia, internationally renowned for Unique Wildlife, such as... kangaroos?
Turns out the kangaroo's less aggressive, less unsettlingly jacked cousins were eating the opium poppies, getting high as kites, and staggering around in circles, crushing the plants and leaving crop circles.
So, y'know. Sometimes it is, in fact, option number 3: none of the above.
--
*The historical policy and economic reasons behind Tasmania's position as World Legit Opium Supplier and as a result of said position are broad, terrible, and also extremely irrelevant to the point here - this is a pretty decent overview, if you want to go down the rabbit hole of how the opioid crisis was fed off regulatory loophole avoidance
