I got another one for you!! Rank the main villains/misguided antagonists of Pokémon, worst to best!

Oh gosh, this one's going to be a bit tricky.

1 - CYRUS. Team Galactic is such a fucking slog; they aren't even mildly amusing in the same way Team Rocket are, they just get in the way. At the head of this bizarrely hedonistic operation is Cyrus, a lunatic with his head so far up his own ass that he can't hear how fucking boring and self-centered he sounds.

2 - GHETSIS. He's creepy and deranged, certainly, but he's also kind of boring. In my opinion he also got a downgrade in B2W2 when he stopped being this "man behind the throne" kind of character and just became an evil dictator. N's presence is integral to his effectiveness, and once they split up he's not nearly as interesting.

3 - GIOVANNI. Credit where credit is due - Giovanni is the OG Pokemon villain, and he's not half bad either. He's also the only explicit villain that is on a League - Malva might count but I don't know if it was ever confirmed if she had anything to do with Team Flare or if she was just kind of there. Giovanni's also great because, as far as I'm aware, his ultimate goal is largely financial power, which is easier to understand than some other Pokemon villains.

4 - VOLO. Volo is where things start to get interesting in this list. He's a play on a zealous acolyte; he craves Arceus' blessing and he ends up enlisting Giratina's help to tear open a hole in the universe in order for them to meet, but he ultimately fails when you defeat him and Giratina flees. I liked his vaguely unsettling aura and the fact that he was always there when you least expected him to be, and I kind of get his motive to where he wants a reason for any suffering he faced, but ultimately the rest of his character kind of falls flat.

5 - LUSAMINE. I really liked Lusamine when I first fought her - how batshit crazy and obsessed she was; how she was willing to basically disown her own children in order to get what she wanted. In immediate hindsight her whole shpeal kind of petered out for me because I didn't know who Mohn (her long-lost husband) was and thus I had no idea what her motive was. USUM definitely did her a disservice by kinda-sorta redeeming her on-screen instead of leaving her fate up in the air like the original games did.

(The rest of these are all pretty close together in terms of how much I like them, so ranking is a little more approximate from here on out.)

6 - ROSE. SWSH unfortunately suffers from a poor plot anyway, which really doesn't do Rose any favors, but I really enjoy his calm, bussinesslike approach to everything, and how he's genuinely done good things for his community while also doing some questionable ones. I like how it's hinted that both Magnolia and Sonia regard him with hesitancy but no-one really elaborates as to why. I like how when you defeat Eternatus he just kind of... disappears, and his name is scrubbed from the League. I don't think anyone talks about him after that. That may be a plothole and not a deliberate choice, but it makes me want to study him acutely under a microscope.

7 - ARCHIE / MAXIE. (I'm counting these two as a pair because they serve the same purpose within their respective games.) My first villains! This is where my "well-intentioned but dumb" appreciation stems from; these two wanted to aid in the progress of humanity and also the conservation of certain Pokemon, but obviously didn't have any braincells dedicated to the consequences of their actions. It's actually really interesting to see them wholeheartedly regret their actions and realise their colossal mistakes in the moment.

8 - SADA / TURO AI. This villain and overall culmination of the SV story is so fucking terrifying and intimidating that I can't not love it. The plot twist that the Professor had been dead for years before your introduction to them was applause-worthy; the reveal that the AI had more affection, or at least respect, for the current world and the Professor's neglected son was heartbreaking. That was the moment that really shattered the illusion - that maybe, just maybe, Sada/Turo was a good person after all, but nope! They were just a deadbeat, obsessed parent all along.

9 - LYSANDRE. There's something about Lysandre that I find very, very appealing. He and Rose are very similar, and he also shares certain traits and motives with Cyrus of all people, but Lysandre succeeds more due to seemingly being more likable and having more genuine relationships - he at least has a friendship with Sycamore (or so the Professor claims). It's evident that no-one thought the worst of him and just considered him to be passionate about his desire to make the world more "beautiful". He sacrifices himself because he can't bear to live with his mistakes or his inability to accept the world as it is. He cries on-screen. He's a very poetic antagonist and I enjoy him immensely. Also his design is A+ and I love the way he carries himself.

Nova Coorperation (Team Nova) and Team Rapture

Note: This is an OG chapter post from the Wattpad book for archival reasons only, I plan on doing a more comprehensive rewrite in the future)

Nova Corp (Team Nova):

Nova Corp are the main antagonists of Pokemon Novic. Unlike previous evil teams, they don't plan on taking over the world or stealing other people's pokemon.

Their leader wants to use the legendary pokemon for a personal reason....

Members:

Grunts- Just your everyday lowly members who don't have the strongest of pokemon

Scientists: Slightly stronger grunts who tend to use Steel types. Sometimes fossil or other Pokémon.

Directors: there are a total of 5 directors. One of them is a gym leader who you don't even know is one until post game. They are all named after stars save for the last two.

Arcturus: The first of the admins you meet after the second gym. He's a usually stern guy but very protective of those around him. He has an Ursaring as his strongest pokemon.

Vega: The second of the admins. She was originally from ultra space but found herself in Dranowa one day after an incident with an Ultra Wormhole. She is very caring and is not afraid to fight those who harm friends or the ones she loves and cares about. Her ace Pokémon is Naganadel.

Spica: The third admin you face. She is known to be cocky and arrogant and cares greatly for the team's success. She primarily uses Grass types. Ace is Cherrium.

Orpheus: The fourth admin. He is seen through the story wearing a cloak and mask. He is battled three times throughout the story. He wears a mask hiding his face until the final confrontation at Nova HQ. He's a lone wolf and prefers to work alone. Orpheus is described as being a very superstitious individual and has an interest in card games. He also has a romantic interest in his fell Director Vega.

It is also hinted he was a victim of an accidental Darkri attack that left him in a coma as a boy, leading to his heavy believes in superistitions. He carries a Lunar Wing as he fears Darkri may come for him.

Amber: The final admin. She is the final gym leader of Dranowa and wife of the leader. She was just a gym leader before she married and was promoted to an Admin because of this. After her husband lost his mind and became obsessed with finding a way to save their daughter. She left back to her hometown and gym. When Nova began their investigation on the strange meteor that fell in Miniorite Valley, she started to refuse challengers until Team Nova was stopped.

After the main protagonist becomes champion. She has returned to Nova HQ and it is revealed that she is an admin there. She is a master of Fire types.

Castor and Pollux: ???

--The Leader--

Sirius: Nova Corp's CEO/President. He inherited the company from his father who founded it to help with the advancement of science and to study Pokémon. He is married to a gym leader and has two kids: Nora and Trevor.

One day, his daughter Nora was pushed close to death because of an unnamed incident. Stricken with grief, he began searching for ways to bring her from out of a coma.

Sirius grew obsessed with his search. Out of fear for his family and his own safety, Amber retreated back to her hometown, planning on taking Trevor with her. He chose to stay behind.

The admins looked after Trevor until one day when the boy ran away from home, fearing his father's ever growing desperation and dive into madness.

Sirius eventually finds a potential way to save Nora, involving an ancient tale of a King who called upon the legendary Pokémon Novatta to cure his dying son. He orders his admins to find and round up the Legendary Birds, Galacta and Galactos, in hopes of using them to awaken the Legendary and restore it to it's Origin Form.

Unfortunately his plans go south when the fusion attempt fails and drives Novatta into a rage as a result. It the forcefully fuses with his son's Cosmosis, Cosmo, after the Pokemon dives in to save him from the wraith of the angry incarnate of the Universe and becomes Origin Novatta.

After the Player calms and captures Novatta, Nora is revived thanks to it reversing the damage it had done. Amber and Trevor return home post-game. And everything goes back to normal.

Bonus: Uranium/Novic ( aka The Hergeki Isles Expansion) Crossover:

Team Rapture

The main antagonists of the Uranium/Novic crossover. Headed by a strange suited figure only known as R, the group is currently studying the abandoned nuclear project off the coast of the Dranowa Region in the Hergekis. Their motives of doing so are currently unknown.

(All of the admins names are derived from radioactive elements/and or related subjects to radiation)

The team gets it's name from R's R.A.P.T.U.R.E.S System.

R - recovery

A - and

P - preservation

T - Thermo/cardiac monitoring

U - unit

and

R - radiation

E - expelling

S - shield

Originally a simple radiation proof blanket designed to protect the wearer in case of a nuclear meltdown with the aid of Larkspur industries to be an add-on to the CURIE Interface, R (Raman) eventually continued working on it in secret by himself after growing suspicious of professor Larkspur, turning it into a full on suit.

Though it was never fully finished until after the meltdown, it was still useable with the blanket part being placed on the back like a cape that the user can wrap around themselves to protect them from stronger levels of radiation that the main suit part is unable to block out. It also contained an interface that would monitor the wearer's vitals alongside with the Perseveration Unit, a subsystem designed to keep the wearer alive in the case of a near death situation.

The mask part of the suit is removable but can be slid up or down to reveal the user's face. It's divided into the mouth part and face part, each of which can open up independently of the other.

This unit would go on to save his life twice, once as an unfinished prototype against the Epsilon Power Plant Meltdown and a second time in it's complete state against a near fatal attack from a now rouge Professor Lanspark.

The suit also is capable of communicating with R's various implants.

Admins

Dr. Irrian: One of the 4 Rapture admins and the Chief Medical Officer of the Team. Formally a member of Nova Corp and the one who helped design Rayman's implants. The player first battles him in the first abandoned Nuclear Plant they visit, Nuclear Plant Delta (this plan is completely cleaned of any trace of radiation and is home to a tribe of warrior Pokémon and a few Garlikid) and later in the sick bay of Rapture's base.

He's a big dork and is usually the butt-monkey of the Team. Yet he cares very much about his team's health and can be serious when the need be. He's the only admin who doesn't try to impede the player, yet under orders he is forced to battle them, and actually tries to go out of his way to help the player stop Rapture. He also mentions about R's(Rayman's) health issues, fearing that something bad might happen if his boss doesn't stop.

He's the only one of the team who's Nuclear Type isn't a corrupted regular Pokémon (all of admins have one nuclear type on their team, the rest are regular Pokémon), his ace is a Miasmedic but he also has a Hazma.

Berkeley:

R's second in command and the only female Admin of the team. Berkeley is a feisty woman known for her strict demeanor. Nicknamed "Lady Beliaddon" due to her rather aggressive temper and her ace pokemon. Despite her attitude, she does have a soft side. She's generally worried about her boss and his sanity as she's shown to be one of the first admins to respond when R faints after the player's final battle with him, who she even thanks to player in the end for helping stop Unstable Uryne when they return to the Rapture Base in the postgame.

Leader R (real name: Rayman):

Bio: The founder and leader of Team Rapture. He is an Ex-elite four member and a close friend of the former champion. He's hinted to have been one of the researchers responsible for the creation of Urayne.

Rayman is usually very quiet and calm person but can be quite unhinged, especially if pushed. Due to his past trauma and likely some already existing mental disorder (as hinted to by Irrian), Rayman can become rather violent towards others if annoyed or angered. Both his Admins and underlings know this and are shown to be rather scared when this does happen, though Raman does try his best to control it as of more recently. Yet underneath this broken shell of a man still lies that shy, concerned, and caring young researcher he once was, as demonstrated when the player character succumbs to the high levels of radiation of Plant Gamma. Rayman personally steps in to save their live by bringing them to Rapture's base to treat them before returning them to Chiron.

He's also very intelligent. Having worked on both the creation of Uryne, the CURIE/RAPTURES systems, and even making the first ever artificial Z Crystals, he has quite the knowledge on Nuclear Physics and Radiation as a whole. Rayman is also quite knowledgeable in psychology when it comes to dealing with any potential enemies and what makes them tick as shown through the interrogation reports found scattered about the base (mostly dealing with Larkspur).

Backstory: Originally a scientist working on Project 092 at Power Plant Epsilon and assistant to Lucille. He eventually took Larkspur's place once he ditched the project. He created the RAPTURES System as a side-project.

Rayman was suspicious of Larkspur for a long time and would later discover his true motives after intercepting a letter from some "mysterious backer". Larkspur knew Rayman would be the end of him if he tipped someone off so he decided to destroy Plant Epsilon in hopes of getting rid of Raman and Urayne.

He found out and tried to warn the staff. No one believed Raman until the day the meltdown took place.

Rayman was evacuated with most of the staff. However he grew worried over Lucille, whom was still in there. Against Cameron's orders, Rayman barged back into the Plant just as radiation levels rose. He struggled around, calling out for Lucille until finding his way into his office where he collapsed. His partner pokemon, an Eevee named Pierre, went to retrieve the RAPTURES Unit in order to save it's trainer.

The eevee returned, growing ill from the radiation. Fighting to stay awake, Rayman managed to attach the Preservation Subsystem and cover himself with the blanket before blacking out. Eevee would soon follow, though a lot worse than it's trainer. The Pokémon was on death's door when a light filled the room.

Eevee had evolved into a Nulceon.

When it awoke, the pokemon found itself resistant to the effects of radiation. It knew that it needed to get it's trainer out of there. So, grabbing the blanket, the pokemon drug Raman towards the ocean where it would flip him over since the blanket was designed to be buoyant .

Rayman was found by a few sailors and taken to the Bealbeach Ranger's Station and placed in intensive care. He awoke a week later, having grown a lot weaker and frailer. Most of his stay he was silent, picking at his food and attempting to pull his IV. He would also get very aggressive when asked about what had happened.

Kellyn, distraught over his wife's "death", confronted Rayman one night. He was still in a state of shock and got rather confrontational. Demanding to know "What did you do to Lucille!?". Rayman lost his temper, calling Kellyn "Maybe if you were a real trainer you would have been able to save her yourself. Oh wait, your just a COWARDLY RANGER who's to busy running around the place to care!" Kellyn was speechless as the two were separated.

That night, Rayman ran away, taking his suit with him and leaving Tandor as a whole. Moving to the region of Dranowa where he would plot his revenge against the very man whom had been behind all of this in the first place, Larkspur.

Battles with Team Rocket and Birth of Team Rapture:

(Note: The Torren/Insurgence Stuff is no longer considered cannon and is being rewritten.)

During his time in Dranowa, Rayman would develop a friendship with the then-champion at the time, Matthew, as well as the Nova President Sirius whom was interested in his research.

Team Rapture was formed around this point. Originally formed as a primarily as a search group but would also aid in their leader's goal of hunting down Larkspur as well as intimidating those evil organizations funding his research with cryptic threats and attacks.

One of these main groups in particular were Team Rocket.

This eventually led to a slip up which left Rapture's leader severely wounded and causing him to lose an arm. Because of this incident, he was given a series of cybernetic implants as well as a full-functional yet removal prosthetic arm thanks to the help of Nova Corp and a rather bright young Dr. by the name of Irrian, who would later join Rapture.

At some point after this, Rayman would be appointed as a member of the Elite Four.

Post-Uranium/Pre-Novic:

Sometime between the events of Urainum and Novic. Champion Matthew would be killed in an accident by some organization trying to get back at him for the events at the Eden Isles (Rising Tides Incident). Rayman attempted to save him but failed, blaming himself for the death of his friend and subsequently disappearing.

He retreated to the Hergekis and created his alias, R. Where he vowed that he would finish Lucille work with Urayne and dispose of Larkspur once and for all.

At some point, Larkspur would obtain Urayne and flee to the Hergekis where he would be captured. Rayman would take Urayne in by this point.

Post-Novic/Hergeki Isles:

Before the events of the Hergeki Isles, it's heavily implied Raman managed to locate and capture Larkspur isles before turning him into the International Police once he had gotten enough information out of him as stated by various vague journal entries scattered about Rapture's HQ from the POV of a few grunts. Larkspur was said to have been very paranoid once he was brought into police custody.

This is in explained more in depth in the "Whatever Happened to Larkspur Labs" sidequest, in which the player, aided by Colress, traverse through the abandoned Larkspur Labs Hergeki Division building, filled with wild Pokémon and crazed Super Scientists, in order to get more information on how the Professor suddenly showed up in the custody of the International Police and why Larkspur Labs went out of business.

During climax at Plant Gamma in which the player goes to investigate what's going on, it's implied that Raman rescues the player after defeating him there once they wake up in Chiron's Clinic thanks to some of Winton's dialogue about a strangely dressed man he saw leaving after the player was dropped off and the black screen cutscene where it's hinted he took them back to Rapture's base to be treated first before returning the player to Chiron.

During the final confrontation, Marinus or CURIE (Lucile) (Depending on who the player chooses) will team up with the player for a double battle against an Unstable Urayne. He will retreat to his office and requests the player to battle him.

After his final battle, as hinted throughout the story by Irrian, Rayman collapses due to his health issues. His Nulceon runs off to get help, and he's taken away by two of his admins.

Once the player beats the main storyline, Rayman can be found at his base as a rematch-able trainer. If the player has completed a series of previous Sidequests, then they gain access to Plant Gamma as well as one final Sidequest in which they team up with Rayman himself to explore the now decontaminated plant (Thanks to the events of Urayne), culminating in a final battle with Professor Larkspur and effectively putting a close to his story.

*Note: Despite these Pokémon not appearing on his final team. They are shown to still be in Raman's possession once the player reaches Rapture's HQ. They are revealed to all be purified (not cleansed), suggesting Raman did so himself. Also all of the Irritated Pokémon used by R are native to Tandor and do not include any of the new Nuclear Forms introduced in the Hergeki Isles (barring his main team).

It's so sweet that you're interested enough to ask. <3

TL;DR: I'm still trying to figure it out.

I've actually been brainstorming some lore for my self-ships and I'm still deciding whether I want to try and grapple with the OG canon or experiment with an AU for him. Karasu has several AUs I’m torn between and my Toji self-ship is exclusively based in a Pokemon AU—but Barbatos? I’m not sure yet.

I loved his slow burn in the original game but the transition to NB kind of ruined the momentum that was building. I’m still disappointed by that choice and so far, NB is a poor replacement.

Admittedly, I'm not sure my MC would have the patience or fortitude to endure one-sided feelings for so long (assuming at least two years between S1-S4). Realistically, I know I’d lose hope and give up. Based on his love survey, I think we’re both similar when it comes to complicated relationships. There's a balance somewhere that I'm trying to find unless I want to incorporate other romance rivalsand/or polyships.

I anticipate his story with my MC is going to be some sort of slow burn, a somewhat clumsy and tense strangers-to-lovers tale where proximity to each other's company slowly builds those bonds over time. He's used to caring for others, and the feeling that someone else wants to take care of him is new and strange and a bit exciting, but he doesn't like to admit it.

He learns to appreciate the joy and beauty in simple things because they're the things you enjoy: warm tea, sweetened to your liking, soft blankets and thick books in front of a fireplace. Chores he does alone become chores you do together. He doesn't understand why you're so eager to help, but he won't refuse your company. Do you even realize how charming you can be? His routine is disrupted by your presence at first but that changes too—he enjoys it when you're there and craves it when you're not. He's conflicted by the power you have over him and the way it feels like he's losing control of his carefully guarded emotions.

I think in any story he's going to struggle with dividing his loyalty between Diavolo (who will exist in some capacity) and potential partners. He's dedicated to his professional obligations and friendship with Diavolo, so he's not going to chase after the whimsy of romance for the sake of it.

He's intimidating at first because he's so confident. He's honest but kind, but in a bland sort of way. He's guarded around strangers or people he doesn't know very well; his tone can be a bit detached, almost like cold steel and just as sharp if he's irritated or angry. He efficient and very good at whatever he does—no detail is too small to be overlooked if it means doing his job better.

Sometimes it's hard to tell what's his genuine self and what's simply a performance to make his day-to-day life easier. It takes him time to open up, and it takes even longer for him to trust someone; whether it's worth the trouble remains to be seen.

Anyway that’s all I’ve got. I’m working on my holiday theme and I’m adding some “official” pages to keep my self-ship content organized. Those will have more aesthetic components and my music recs. may or may not have a little winter/birthday art comm in the works with the two of us too. 👉🏻👈🏻

LO Characters as Pokemon Trainers

Here we go with part 2 of LO characters as Pokemon Trainers. The trainer card template is from Devianart user khfan. Although I changed the colors of templates to fit the trainer. This blog is based on LO and og greek mythology. It is also based on a world where only pokemon exist. So lets see as the Pokemon teams of Eros' family.

Ares

Its no surprise that the god of war would have primarly fighting types. Nidoking sword pokedex entry says " When it goes on a rampage, it's impossible to control. But in the presence of a Nidoqueen it's lived with for a long time, Nidoking calms down." Simiarly it takes either Hera or Aphrodite to calm Ares' down. Gyrados is attracted to violence and is always mad. Enough say. Primape another pokemon known for its rage, is Ares' sparing partner. Though do not fear Ares Primape has a softer side, as he known for loving to play patty cake with Storge and the rest of Aphrodite's hoard. Despite the fact that his gloved hands make the game tricky for him. Mandbuzz is on Ares team because its bird this referencing Ares's father Zeus king of the sky. Its also due to the fact that the Vulture is one of Ares' sacred animal.

Aphrodite

Aphrodite's team maybe the most beautiful team in Olympus. Premerina was once a Popelio that Aphrodite met when she rose from the sea during her birth. Aphrodite raised it till it involved to the beautiful pokemon Premerina. Premerina helps her trainer by singing her trainer's children to sleep. The two are extremely close and Aphrodite makes sure Premerina always looks her best. Aphrodite never leaves home without her Spritzee. Milotic is another pokemon met upon her birth. The two often due photoshoot together. Milotic and Premerina have help Aphrodite teach all her children how to swim. Acting as living lifeguards for them. Aphrodite's Furfrou is pure elegance. Meowstics Shield entry states"Females are a bit more selfish and aggressive than males. If they don't get what they want, they will torment you with their psychic abilities." Need I say more. Aurorus because of its ancient beauty.

Eros

Emboar was once the cute little pig he met when he first met Psyche. Over the course of his search for her it evolved to Emboar. A pokemon that fits him as the pokemon is a fighting type and Eros' dad, Ares, the god of war. Ares is extremely proud of his son's Emboar. Some people think Ares left Tepig there in hopes Eros would raise. Although if you ask Ares he denies, despite looking guilty. Bewear is both lovable and dangerous like his owner. Bewear was Eros's first pokemon starting out as Stuffle a gift from his dad Ares. Smoochum needs no explaination. Luvdisc's pokedex entry states "It lives in warm seas. It is said that a couple finding this Pokémon will be blessed with eternal love." This makes Luvdisc the perfect pokemon for Eros. Swoobat is literally the courting pokemon which is perfect for a god of love. The pokedex states on the subject of female Indeedee, "They diligently serve people and Pokémon so they can gather feelings of gratitude. The females are particularly good at babysitting." Eros literally takes care of all his siblings and tends to be the the character with the most emotional intelligence.

Psyche

Psyche's tepig was a gift from Eros as the one she knew has evolved. Although this tepig is the daughter of Eros's Emboar. Psyche has a male Indeedee whose happens to be the mate of her husband's Indeedee. The two represent the couples loyalty to each other. Smeagel shares Psyche love of art. Blissey helps Psyche take care of Eros siblings. Her Snubull is nicknamed Jr, as he reminds Psyche of her husband. As love can appear at first monsterous, but is actually sweet. Psyche Beautifly is based on the fact that Psyche's goddess form has butterfly wings.

Storge

Storge's name means familial love thus all of his pokemon are family centered pokemon. His hamster is the adorable fairy rodent Dedenne, whom he loves to show off. He named her Pearl after his mom's favorite jewel. Pearl was gift from his mother after she noticed her child seemed lonely. The two are inseparatable. Kangaskanis the parent pokemon who befriended Storge when he got lost in cave. The two are close and Kangaskan helps defend. Draloak is the caretaker pokemon and was a gift from Hades and Persephone. Togetic was gift from his brother Eros. His sentret was a orphan that Storge found. Levanny was a gift from Persephone who said the pokemon fit Storge's caring nature.

Part 2 is done next up is Ares' parents and siblings, this will be fun.

Let me introduce the Not Really, Parent Trap!AU, or better known as Reversed Parent Trap!AU. I’ve yelled at a few friends over this, and it’s no where NEAR done for an actual fic to be posted about it since a lot of the characters aren’t completely fleshed out yet. be aware it’s long so it’s under the cut!

So ORIGINALLY this was supposed to be just a Summer Camp!AU

That quickly derailed into a kinda Reversed Parent Trap!AU

So this starts after the Sinnoh Arc, it’s just the start of summer

Ash comes back to Pallet Town and buys the Ranch, it’s literally double the size of Pallet Town+the surrounding farms and product fields that make up MOST of Pallet Town, and the Castle literally takes up around ⅓ of the plot of land.

Ash successfully revamps the entire place and land, making it habitable for everyone on his team and himself. This also equals refurbishing everything with the best quality shit he can get

So Ash spends a VERY pretty penny for everything, though admittedly it doesn't make a HUGE dent in his bank account from how often he gets paid a shit ton during his travels and the added bonus of being the Orange Archipelagos Champion AND the Chosen One

Who knew dying for a Regions sin pays well?

He gets contacted by Gary a month later, it's near the middle of summer and Gary wants to re-open the Oak’s Summer Camp from their childhood. But he doesn't have a place to do it

Ash immediately offers his place, plus he has a plethora of Pokemon in and out of this Region they can use as example

They reopen the camp with just thirty spots available, no more than that since it’s just him and Ash for three weeks, teachers usually have up to a class of fourty at most so it will be fine

The kids come and they actually fall into two groups immediately, which ends up pretty easy for Gary and Ash to pick what group goes with who for most of the week

It ends up pretty odd group numbers though, Ash ends up with 18 while Gary gets 12 kids

Most of Ash’s kids already KNOW Ash, either from meeting him through his journey’s or knowing him from birth and up. Pallet Town IS small after all

They all range from ages (at the beginning of the summer camp ordeal) 5 to 11 ½ years old

After the first summer, the same group of kids always come back to Gary’s camp because it’s dope.

But having a Champion there as their “counselor” is doper

Which makes Gary beg Ash to come back and help out at the summer camp every summer for three weeks

Ash ofc says yes, it gets him away from Drake and Lance’s nagging and gives him a good break and spend time with Gary and his Pokemon

It does get out of hand at least once a day, but their KIDS there's nothing really Gary and Ash can do to completely stop it

So like, Ash and Gary are around 15-16 ½ at the beginning. It originally started because Gary was feeling super nostalgic at the time and thought it would be fun to do it every other summer or something

THAT plan quickly went out the window and both found themselves coming back to Ash’s ranch every summer to set up and do it

It quickly grows and becomes to be really famous from all the good reviews and how because a lot of top elite society people surprisingly came from Pallet Town in general *side eyes Lance, Drake, and Agatha*

But its mostly because a Champion is there and they get to talk to another Oak and stuff that’s more close to their age

I’m also adding in Ash/Raihan in here and forcible folding in the secret marriage!AU into here as well

Raihan and Lance knew each other through Lance training at Hammerlocke gym when the Champion was younger and Raihan soon came over to train with Lance during the off season for Galar, the summer and half of fall. Lance noticed that Raihan would stammer and get weird every time Ash was visiting the castle. So being the giant meddler of a Godfather that he is, Lance pushed and pushed until Raihan agreed to help Gary and Ash out during Camp time

Lance also makes it up and offers a visit, which both Ash and Gary happily agrees because they actually have a few kids thinking about going into the dragon tamer route later in life and it would be a great learning opportunity for them

Soon Raihan isn’t spending time at the castle anymore, he heads straight to Ash’s ranch the same night the Galar League ends for the year. After party be damn! He has a summer camp to help set up for

Raihans followers actually like the little cameo’s the kids have during a small vlog or a photo bomb with them doing something stupid before Ash or Raihan notices

Even if Ash is in the middle of a league, he will ALWAYS come back to help out with the summer camp

He even brings his friends with him and they help out as well

Ash’s Pokemon A D O R E the kids, even his more reserved Pokemon like Flicker and Sceptile like hanging out with the camp kids during the night and early morning when they calm down and get tired

The remaining 12 out of 30 kids always get put with Gary after both found out just how bad a lot of kids from the group of 18 home life is, Ash is more emotionally equipped to handle them and Gary wanted the more knowledge driven kids anyways

Raihan is permanently in Ash’s team as his second in command, but that doesn't mean Raihan can’t help Gary every now and then when Ash has everything handled

The Group starts referring to Ash and Raihan as Mom and Dad respectively… but like on accident and then in private when it’s only to another Group member or to themselves

NEVER to Ash or Raihans face on purpose

Fast forward four years from then. All the kids have experienced their first journey, and some even their third journey

Ash and Raihan are now secretly married. The ones that know are;

1) Mr. Goodshow because he officiated and ordained them on Ash’s-no, THEIR, Ranch.

2) Ash’s mom because she had become a mom to Raihan as well and its ASH”S MOM. she would maim him if he got married without her being there. Even though originally Ash and Raihan just wanted to sign the marriage license at Mr.Goodshow’s office in Sinnoh and leave it at that. No wedding, no nothing

3) Gary and Daisy because their practically Ash’s siblings and Daisy had physically and verbally threatened Raihan more so for Delia’s sake. She was the main driving force for a wedding, even though it felt like pulling stubborn, rotting, fractured teeth from both Ash and Raihan about the specific for their wedding

Ash “ q u i t s “ the summer camp after the Kalos Arc

More like Gary shoved him out and employed actual trained employees and counselors, also moving the camp to the old camping grounds Gramps used back then. Ash still lends a few of his more friendlier Pokemon at least once a full week out of the three for Gary to use

also , mostly, because Chosen One and Champion duties are more important now since Ash is Champion of TWO whole set of islands

The camp group as a whole dwindled down to a measly 10-14 every year after the original OG 18 group had left for their journey

But Ash still always plans around the summer because all the kids still come to the Ranch for the FULL Summer now

Raihan makes it his fucking MISSION to always be in Kanto during the off season. Friends and expectation of the Galar League be fucking D A M N E D once those last round of fireworks are shot into the air. Raihan is out of the building and passed the reporters and interviewers in SECONDS and it always leaves everyone guessing what has him so worked up about

Its because Raihan misses his husband and kids, dammit! Especially because they don’t call him as much as they do Ash

Yada, Yada, Yada - something happens and somehow everyone that’s been a part of each evil team past comes to stay at Ash’s ranch for some kind of “Group Therapy” which Ash was essential BULLIED into letting people stay at his ranch

And it’s during the fucking S U M M E R

When his fucking K I D S and H U S B A N D comes home

To say he’s peeved is the biggest understatement of the year

But Ash isn’t going to say NO to his kids! Their his kids!!! And he’s their safe haven besides traveling the world and most of them a still pretty fucking young

So the kids come, armed with the knowledge of everything that's going on and they don’t have to some at all because of the danger imposed by the evil team leaders being there

Surprise to EVERYONE else there, they come to the ranch fucking angry and pissed for Ash’s and Raihan’s sake

Also their encroaching onto THEIR turf

Which is like… the BIGGEST fucking no in their book

But anyways, they continue and help Ash around the ranch like they always do. They just snark back at all the adults because their not Ash OR Raihan so they won’t listen to any of them

Gym Leader be damn

Elite Four be damn

Champion be damn

Their not mom and dad so the group turns a deaf ear to them

But before they came to the ranch that summer, one of the kids spot something flashing around Raihans neck during one of his gym battles they decided to watch out of pure boredom

And so, as the little shit that they are, goes and screen shots and zooms in

ONLY TO SEE A FUCKING R I N G ON A CHAIN

So they send it to the chat and one of them is like

“Holy-fucking-Arceus, that’s a fuckING WEDDING RING”

Cue utter

C H A O S

And so it isn’t until that summer that they see Raihan and storm up to him

Did i mention Rose is Raihans dad in this? Because that’s also an important part of why Raihan only wanted the bare minimum of possible people to know

And they started begging and demanding if Raihan is married

Raihan is internally panicking up a storm on the inside while trying to doge the questions

Also while trying to make everyone in the room as disinterested as possible

But the kid is persistent

And everyone’s watching because it’s lunch time and 90% of the people there have never been to Pallet Town before so they don’t know what restaurants are good

So Raihan goes:

“What ring? I don’t have a ring! You’re probably hallucinating from the het, why don’t you just go lay down or something?”

The kid reaches up on their tippy toes and flattens Raihans baggy shirt to show an outline of a small circle on his chest

“That ring.”

Que Raihan starting to show his panic because now the have EVERYONE’S attention and he and Ash don’t want to come out just yet

ESPECIALLY LIKE THIS

Ash is outside with most of the kids since their helping him clean his Pokemon

But Raihan is saved by the kid declaring they WILL find out who he’s married to

Thankfully not outright guessing Ash in anyway, which is weird how he and Ash ACTUALLY legitimately adopted three kids out of the group already

So now everyone is watching Raihan and he damn well knows his reaction gave his lanky ass away

They, especially the Galar League members, start to grill Raihan but he keeps shut and runs away as fast as he can with his metaphorical tail tucked between his legs

And after a week or two they spot Ash walking into the dining hall shirtless because one of his Pokemon accidentally ripped the shirt to shreds

Ash being him, forgets he has the ring on his neck while walking into the dining hall during lunch since he’s so used to the weight

Now the kid who spotted the ring first just dropped their plate on the table and before either Raihan or Ash could gently scold them, they start stammering while jerkily pointed to Ash’s chest

Soon they spit out;

“Ring! Ring!! Same ring!!!”

The rest of the kids, who were dragged into guessing who married Raihan and also who now know what Raihan ring looks like, lose their entire SHIT

They soon surround Ash and start congratulating him and Raihan, who’s upstairs on the third floor and putting some newly hatched baby dragon Pokemon to sleep, and Ash openly panics MORE than Raihan did

One pipes up is Raihans last name is now Ketchum instead of Rose

Ash goes from blushing to complete tomato red in the face the fastest anyone has seen it go before

He soon ducks his head a mutters its Ketchum now and the kids happily start freaking out even more

Everyone ELSE on the other hand is in absolute shock

Rose is filled with rage because Raihan was supposed to go to one of his biggest investors youngest daughter when they both reached the age of 25

Ash and Raihan are respectively 20 and 22 now

Rose also doesn’t “condone” LGBT+ people in the slightest

So to have his own son, who Rose hasn’t seen in fucking years on the man’s own free time might I add, to go behind his back and betray his father like this?

Utterly shameful of his son to do so

Though there IS nothing Rose can do because he no longer has the connections he had before and is still handcuffed on the daily

A bunch of other people are in the range of angry to sad because they had crush’s/were in love with Ash and to know Ash has been off the market completely for a VERY long time is actually… quite off putting because Ash never spoke up about it

And when one of them speaks up and questioned Ash on why he never told them, or even INVITED anyone else to his fucking WEDDING ash juts kind of… laughed nervously and shrugged

Saying something on the line that half of his friends wouldn’t believe him, or would bombard him with questions as they are now

He then breaks down everything, explaining that his marriage is a VERY personal thing to both him and Raihan. Both loved revealing in the fact that this is something that is just between THEM, including a few necessary people, and that they don’t HAVE to share it with the world

Ash also explains how the Galar Region isn’t really accepting of LGBT+ people, and how would they take it knowing that their strongest Gym Leader is gay and married to another man?

Also that if word had spread around enough, bad guys and evil teams would start to target Raihan since he’s Ash’s husband and that Raihan also works in a different league

The kids soon feel guilty, the one that pointed out the rings feels even more so, but it’s quickly soothed a little by Ash who told them that he and Raihan were going to tell them anyways

“So can we actually call you Mom and Dad now?”

One of them pipes up

Ash laughs and agrees

Raihan soon comes down and is greeted with a bunch of kids/teen waggling their eyebrows at him with smirks, a sheepish looking Ash, and a good majority of the rest of the people having existential crises

So he walks forward and sweeps Ash into a sweet kiss, soon pulling back and muttering how he’s been wanting to do that since the start of the summer.

so! we have one overarching universe (wotog) that almost everything falls under, with the exception of the chromatica crew and the Project 83 kids. and, because we have so many kids and so many ideas, naturally, we’ve come up with (entirely too many) alternate universes to put them in. designated tags for each au are after each description.

this is also gonna be really long so i apologize in advance. everything is under the cut.

pirate: this is actually set somewhere in the beginning-middle of True Canon, after the og crew (minus anne and viren) went around the continent, witherhurst, and decided “yknow what? there’s nothing else to do here, let’s go be pirates i guess” so they proceeded to steal a pirate ship and go be pirates. #pirate au

ccak: cats, coffee, and kink. this is the generic modern au, and i love it so much. to me, this is True Canon but for the modern aus. set in fantasy-modern new york city, it’s basically slice of life as the kids just kinda exist together. #ccak

flowers: ah yes, the soulmate au. [redacted] actually came up with the idea for this one: everyone is born with at least one soul mark. they have one that’s their own, and it takes the shape of their favorite flower somewhere on their body, and is filled in with the actual colors of the flower. but, because this is a soulmate au, most people have more than one mark. okay this is gonna be a little hard to explain so. person A has a rose on the back of their left hand, and that’s their soulmark. they have a romantic soulmate, person B, so they might have a red lily on their right forearm (or wherever it is on person B). they also have a platonic soulmate, person C, so they have a blue daffodil on their leg, and a familial soulmate, so maybe a green peony on their back. and a person doesn’t know what kind of soulmate they’ll have until they meet their soulmate and their marks start to fill in. a person’s personal mark goes gray if they go against destiny and love someone who doesn’t share a mark with them, and their mark fades almost completely when that corresponding soulmate dies. (in addition, fantasy races don’t exist in this one, and if i remember correctly, magic isn’t a thing either.) #flowers

wings: this one is pretty straightforward. everyone has wings (and everyone is human, rather than fantasy races), and it’s great. #wings au

wolf/vamp: so in this one, everyone is human, but can be turned into (or born as, i guess) a werewolf, a vampire, or, in some rare cases, a cross between the two: a vaewolf. this one is kinda grittier to me, but that’s just the impression i personally get from it. #wolf au #vamp au

outbreak: the obligatory zombie apocalypse au, feat. low magic and a very soft magic system. Zombies are made of a mix of magic and disease, so a cure is virtually impossible. Typical gritty ‘everyone’s depressed and just doing their best to survive’ apocalypse shenanigans. #outbreak

hanahaki: self-explanatory. a modern au, i’m imagining it as similar to ccak, but in which the hanahaki disease is a thing and occurs. #hanahaki au

fae-u: a modern-ish au, in which mythical creatures exist! has heavy ties into japanese folklore and myths, with some more western ideas as well. this one is pretty xander-centric. #faeu #fae u

pantheon: the kids are deities! based more on greek mythology, and takes place in ancient greece, if i’m not mistaken. #pantheon

vigilante: heroes and villains are a thing, and where there’s heroes and villains, there’s vigilantes! this one is mostly centered around xander, hatch, and glo. #vigilante #vigilante au

reaperverse: set in a world where reapers come to collect souls when they die, one stubborn woman (spoilers: it’s eve) simply refuses, and forgets, to die, and shenanigans ensue. #reaperverse

prince and the gardener: based on a tumblr post i'll look for later, the palace gardener falls in love with the prince. they are, of course, none other than hatch and xander. they have therai, palace guard, and eve, reluctant queen, on their side, and life is good. #prince and gardener

warrior cats: the guilty pleasure au. (for me, anyway.) the kids, but set in the warrior cats universe, so they’re all cats. sue us. (actually please don’t, neither of us have any money.) #warrior cats au

dark carnival: Based on the vocaloid song Dark Woods Circus (i lost the link im so sorry), this au is Pippin-centric. Focuses on Pip as they’re dragged to a twisted hell by a demon that goes by the name of Ringmaster (Intem). Everyone in the carnival is a sinner, who was sent to hell for crimes they committed in their lives. Eve and Vik are the twins (Also based off ‘see no evil speak no evil’), Dante’s the deformed diva, and Therai is the blue beast??? He’s the cannibal guy. There’s a happy ending I promise. #dark carnival au

accidental summoning: based on the fic Twine (x) by CrunchyWrites on ao3, hatch is a witch and accidentally summons xander, a demon. they kinda fall in love, but also stuff happens. you’ll see. #accidental summoning

reputations au: ah yes, an au based on an au. this one is based on the fic Reputations (x) by Tromper on ao3. two empires have been at war for the past ten or so years, and it’s been a bloody one. until! each side decides to have their best warriors marry each other as a sort of peace treaty, and it’s a slow burn enemies to husbands to friends to lovers. #reputations au

class swap: basically, we were like “hey what if everyone swapped classes” so! this was born. gotta remember who swapped with who. vik and pippin switched (vik is now a rogue and pippin is a bard), therai and tal switched, i think eve and intem switched, and xander and maybe hatch switched? i think. #class swap

merfolk: everyone is a merfolk! their society is essentially made up of lesserfolk, higherfolk, serpents, and leviathans. anyway it’s life under the sea and it’s great. #merfolk au

pokemon: a pokemon au! we came up with our own region for this one, based on alaska, and it’s actually really good and a lot deeper than i thought it would be! #pokemon au

fairy au: different from FaeU in that everyone is a fairy, instead of mythical creatures. this one is pretty straightforward too. #fairy au

a pirate’s life for me: okay so we were both involved in our school’s production of the musical A Pirate’s Life For Me ([redacted] was cast, i was crew) and after a couple showings we were like “hey new au idea” so. this happened. long story short: eve is a lady, bored of noble life, and decides to go become a pirate to spice things up. her suitor, tal, is heartbroken and says yknow what! if it’s a pirate she wants, it’s a pirate she’ll get! so he goes and becomes a pirate too. eve runs into the notorious Captain Scars (intem) and Captain Vex (vik), and carves a place for herself in infamy as the pirate queen. #pirates life au

warrior princess: [redacted] came up with this one and it’s really cool actually! so, eve is a warrior princess, a role she filled after xander, the kingdom’s warrior prince, mysteriously vanished one day. she fills this role quite well, even if she isn’t particularly happy with her life, until a ~mysterious stranger~ offers to whisk her away to the feywild, so she can be free. (spoilers: she goes with him.) #warrior princess au

the witcher: this has been our hyperfixation for the past couple of weeks (at the time of writing this). marlowe and i decided to watch the witcher netflix series and said “hey new au idea”. i read copious amounts of fics and [redacted] is consuming frankly scary amounts of witcher media, so, this au was born. therai takes the place of geralt, and where would he be without his bard, eve? #witcher au
