When your dark clouds roll in
and I hear your thunder rumble,
I promise, I won’t run for cover.
I’ll hold you, and slow dance
with you in the rain.

In Sum
To Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı
If I were to die my dear mother
I would have nothing to leave you.
The butcher would take my jacket,
The grocer, my coat,
On account of my debts...
What about my loves
And my poems
How could you face the neighbors
And not be ashamed.
In sum, my dear mother,
No corn in the cellar
No wife at home.
Naked I was born
Naked I will die...

No harm would I pose
To the bee in its hive
To the bird in its nest;
I live in my own world
Under my hat.
It is my contentment that makes
Me smile without reason on the streets;
It is my heart,
The source of this raving frenzy.

Every poet however amateur needs a muse I think I’ve found mine? The words from the following quote helped me…
“You are the poem that lives inside of me.
You are the words dancing in my head.
I may fasten the letters and string the words together,
but you are what colours them and brings them to life.”

“Colours”
Colours, prisms, rainbows
disparate hues…
I look for, and at them and see you
why, I haven’t a clue.
You’re always there, though sometimes
as fragments of dissipated light…
akin to the most beautifully complex mosaic or
the most sacred stained-glass window sight.
I then play with words as a clumsy poet
trying to paint and echo your mystical colours
I would have been an “impressionist artist”
limited, yes, but with a memory that savours.
Like a butterfly at rest, taking a little time out…
from being beautiful.
Those colours of yours are just so much more
than nature’s “hand out” they’re bountiful…
They set you apart from the rest.
lighting up the shadiest woodland bower
You’re an individual….love is your colours
Love is….
YOU!
