Hey Amy. My man. My dude. What orthoworm possessed you into buying this. I could forgive you because the phrase is funnier than sinning in church but I won't because look at it.

Lets start with the sweater. Grey - fine whatever. Easier to clean than white, not as edgy as black. I can accept it. We then come to the logo. Ignoring the... statement on the front.

ITS SEPERATED BY A ZIPPER. WHY? How was this made?? Did the manufacturers look at a perfectly good non-zipper sweater and go 'they arent smart enough to not get lost! A sweater has 4 holes after all! What if the meager little consumers suffocate D: AND ADDED A ZIPPER AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT. CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE IT!

The lettering isnt even straight with the pocket that it is already too close to. I just noticed that.

This is the original sin.

Okay so he's manipulative (in the charming/always knows the right thing to say way), very vindictive and petty, has an inflated sense of self-importance, he doesn't appear to be needlessly cruel or bloodthristy or distructive except for when he feels slighted, he's super, suuuuper ambitious, he's crazy adaptive.

He likes luxury, spending money and doing grand, impressive or excessive things. I'd say he has a lot of complex little things about him in plato's work, like, he's conflicted about what he should do with himself, or he seems to understand the value of virtue and justice and being good. But he admits that he has trouble controlling himself, or letting go of his ambitions and dealing with his shortcomings. For example, he understands that it's not a good thing that he lets himself get swayed by the need to please the crowds and thus forgets to tend to his soul. So, he also seems to crave love/attention. And when he does good stuff, it's hard to know if he's doing it out of caring for others or primarily for himself.

slowly moving through my philosophy of law book and fully besides the point but sometimes i am just in awe that i can read about what some guy (probably) had thoughts on because plato had beef with him in 500 bce

#also had this book for probably 10 years now and i am hating myself for not reading it earlier because there is so much interesting stuff in #there which was relevant to previous things i studied and could've profited from it #at the same time: i am having a hard time understanding everything so me 10 years ago might have not taken away anything anyways #what motivates me is that the last part is on the ethics of resistance and tyrannicide and i won't spoil myself #but it is one of those books where i have to re-read every sentence three times when it is discussing the formal and material aspects of the #topic and any introductionary sentences i have to goodle 5 words in my own damn language #scholars of philosophy are build different #but i swear if i read 'ontologic' in another sentence i don't understand i will add a motivational drink to this #i hope my sporadic tumblr word vomits won't become the only source on the philosophy of law in 2500 years #not to hand it to platon #i just found out that in english you call him plato? is there a reason for this?

actually my ideal role in a fan community would be that of philosopher, where i start asking mods/admins questions about the rules and what they Mean in order to obtain Maximum Clarity (for Neurodivergent Reasons(tm) ofc) and probably also promote greater understanding btwn community members and casuals looking in

#like. i think the greeks were onto something when plato(?) said that a government should have an official philosopher in it #it's that or it's just the 'child of church leaders' thing that led me to ask my parents abt community building n management at dinner today #bc i was curious as to whether any of what they'd learned in seminary school could apply to fandom or w/e #like. christianity kind of is just a fandom. a really massive fandom that has its creepy parts its unsavory parts it culty parts #its liberal sides/interpretations and its conservative sides/interpretations etc etc all bc of the existence of one source material #like scaling is ofc the major difference btwn christianity (a religion) and fandom (a hobby (i hope)) which results in very real power #but anyway they're both fragmented into littler denominations that have their spats as *communities* see that's the key here /community/#anyway justification for using religious source/insp/whatever done what was i trying to get at here.#ah. well i guess an important role a philosopher would have in a community would be to prevent the formation of dogma #like. i hate it when people say things and expect common sense (or assumptions based on their personal worldview) to fill in the gaps #it's like my complaint abt how places have rules that literally JUST SAY 'don't be weird'#i've been in fandom long enough to know what you mean by 'weird'.
