hey did you guys know they released official maru and moro angelic pretty xxxholic collab gowns as a movie tie in but they were ultra limited run custom reservations for a REALLY high price (even for modern ap) so there was no way i was gonna get em but i want them so bad just so i could say i have the official xxxholic lolita dresses anyways

i havent posted about it since halloween because i literally havent worked on it since halloween but the clown is going well ^_^
#for one the shirt is um actually a functioning one puece shirt with a zipper. rather than Something im safetypinned into#last pic is the lining gor the vest but my lighting makes it look not gold. Its gold. Trust.#im going to start + hopefully finish the boots tomorrow ! one way or another.#and possibly find a fabric to make the red stripes up the leggings bc i went through the trouble of measuring + cuting out + gradient dying#the red fabric ive used for everything else. ontl for it to skip stitched in my machine like Crazy. i dont wsnt to fight with it#thought im leaving those until Absolute last becaude i dont care about having them that bad. actually ill probably hotglue them on#if that would fuckcifng work LOLL but idrc if i pull up in plain black leggings as long as the top is done. and i Want to do the boots but#if it doesnt work out i also have plain black boots to wear. im happy either way. smiling even#I for real have to go to bed sorry i like talking about it and i would usually message my girlfriend my yapfest but if i do that#while i need to lock in / sleep then we'll end up talking for an hour and locking in means i need to Alock IN. I love mums and I love to see kids getting creative with them but I will admit I don't understand the appeal of one without any flowers at all like that's what it's named for

Yknow if Joanne’s really wants to stay in business and thrive again they have to completely redirect their targeted audience. Most people don’t walk into Joanne’s and go “god I REALLY want to get hundreds of dollars worth of Easter decor, and yards and yards of gold metallic brocade and this specialty st Patrick’s day flannel”
Most people walk into Joanne’s and go “man I’m like 5 black buttons short for my project” and then they go to the button isle and all of the buttons are ornately designed except for the single overpriced bag of regular black buttons.
#they need to start carrying plain shit#I’m not even kidding#bags of plain buttons#rows of plain old matte polyester satin#just like a lot of really basic fabrics in a variety of colors#bulk isles of big roles of bias tape#Walt talks#if Joanne’s could offer me a plain ass no design selection of plain ass polyester fabrics in a wide variety of color#for about 10 dollars give or take a yard#I’d actually shop there on a semi frequent basis#right now I only go to Joanne’s for felt; thread; and the occasional button run#which means I’m there maybe 3 times a year#I know everything at Joanne’s has to be marked up because they’re paying bills and employees#but I feel like their priority choice in products isn’t doing them any good#like chill out on the 50 st patricks day flannels and get a little more enthusiastic about plain 4 way stretch fabrics

#YES I WANTED TO MAKE MY OWN AND NOT PAY FOR A MABEL SWEATER FOR A LONG TIME#Also why do I always get a sweater embroidery project during the summer#this is like the third time I’d be doing this#ok whatever#I still need to plan out some logistics things about what exactly I want to do tho#like it’s not just a plain hoodie#it is a zip up that isn’t made like a basic zip up#(lowkey doesn’t make sense but I know what I mean)#so I am debating making the star a patch on the chest or putting the star on the back#I think if I do stuff by the zipper it won’t look good or I’ll mess up the zipper somehow so 🤷♀️#I know I said this is my third time embroidering a sweatshirt but believe me I am no expert I kinda just go with my heart and what I in my#uneducated opinion think will work#so#then there’s the star itself#I have these cotton squares I bought from a thrift store a few years ago that I can use#problem is all I have are these teddy bear ones and yellow ones#plus the squares may not be large enough for the back if I decide to do that#I can paint the fabric (and I have before) but I think it will come off over time#because I did that with the sweater I decorated last year and the paint is coming off to the point where I plan to repaint parts of it at#some point in the near future#I guess I could dye the fabric but I do not have dye on hand and I do not want to buy a lot of dye for such a small amount of fabric#I do like tie dye so I’d probably use that dye again at some point but still. you get it#pink thinks
