​Holt startled, a little embarrassed because he hadn’t realized he was staring. That wasn’t cool, and he knew it, but he’d never seen a ghoul like her before! Well, not made of wood anyway. Frankie was made up of all kinds of parts, and Robecca was metal, he couldn’t help but be a little curious.

If there were any form of villain-hideouts that made Starfire feel uneasy, it would be the ones underwater. Like this one.

Merliah as her help was great, truly, and she was very thankful to have her around as they fought their way in and managed to destroy the device that had been the threat - but the whole place starting to come down once that happened, was very very very ungood. Starfire yelped as she jumped away from a bit of water that was starting to shoot through a hole, and looked back to Merliah to her words.

"But... but we have left our equipment for the dive at the entrance!" Which, was without a doubt way too far away to reach before the whole place would have long been swallowed by the water. "I will need some thing to cover my face, I cannot simply go into the water." Surviving in space was one thing, a thing that any tamaranean easily could - but within a fluid? That was something else, something she certainly did not have experience with; and some thing that even those tamaraneans that trained for it did not manage to endure long.

     single eye blinks in momentary surprise,  glancing down at the younger girl.   well,  normally,  each of the titans had their own special interests,  which they tended to when finally having some downtime.   cyborg often found himself tinkering with machinery,  either improving his own physical form,  or perhaps working on a new gadget that could benefit the team.

     it was complicated stuff,  so he could understand why nobody else shared the same curiosity and excitement he wielded   ...   that was until now.   hearing her voice chime in,  asking to observe his work,  it left the metal man astounded for a couple seconds.

     “ really !?   i mean,  i don’t have a problem with you watchin’ me.   i just didn’t think anyone else would be as into this as me.   you sure you’re not just lookin’ for some kinda distraction ? ”

Seeing her walk into the workshop and rushing over to him to embrace in a hug was honestly just what he needed after a very stressful event. ❝I'm so happy to see your face again.❞ He then placed a kiss on her forehead before straightening his posture again and lowering his hands back to intertwine with hers. Upon second glance at her features, he did notice that she was distressed as if she had just walked away from an uneasy conversation.❝Is something wrong?❞

Liah froze in her calm swim with her mother at those words, not having expected them in the slightest as so far they had simply been talking and swimming around the outskirts of Oceana, admiring the reef and the city while getting to know each other better.

They'd gotten much closer already since finding out her mother was alive and she'd adapted fairly well to being part mermaid, though still quite busy with her surfing career on the surface. Then everything with Eris coming back had happened and she'd become a true mermaid, but…

Well, she hadn't been alone then, and having Kylie by her side and in on the secret had made them go from dead-set rivals to close friends. She'd even begun spending more time than usual on the surface or swimming near the beach with someone who she could share this half-life with properly. Ailah and Hadley were great and had been with her from the beginning, but they couldn't come with her beneath the ocean or truly understand what it was like to be both human and mermaid. Kylie did, and one thing had led to another.

Except, not knowing her mother all that well, she'd been incredibly nervous about saying anything, especially since she'd seen last time with the ceremony that her mother did have expectations of her as the mermaid princess of Oceana that Merliah wasn't familiar with. And as much as she cares for her mother and Oceana as a whole, she grew up human, and that life does take precedence for her…

"I-I'm not— Really, it's nothing. You don't have to worry…" She stumbled awkwardly over the words, clearly not a very good liar when put on the spot like that. But how could she know whether it was alright that she'd begun to fall in love, and with another woman at that? They wouldn't be having children, not really, and certainly any they adopted wouldn't be able to complete the ceremony either…

Oh dear, her mother would be furious if she found out, wouldn't she? But it would be just as awkward if she found her mother beginning to shove mermen at her in the hopes of a courtship starting or anything like that. Kylie wouldn't take that lying down either, and Merliah didn't want it either. Only… She really wished Kylie could be with her when breaking the news, now really wasn't the right time—

       “ Tikki, spots off.” Ladybug sounded defeated as she breathed a hefty sigh. The villains of Gotham weren’t so easily ‘de-evilized’ as someone who’d been akumatized. In a way, it was sadder to see someone truly lost compared to someone under the influence of Monarch. Every time Marinette saw an arrest, she found it heartbreaking.

     Her hero costume quickly dematerialized, and she sighed. Only then did she notice Black Canary out of the corner of her eye. GASP! Bluebell eyes grew wide, and Marinette’s expression fell to panic. Had Dinah been worried about her? Did she follow her here? Did she see all of that?!

      “ I – I – If you’re looking for Ladybug, she went – ” Marinette pointed frantically up, then left, then in a circle. “ That way! ” But Dinah’s words were gentle, your secret’s safe with me. However, Marinette couldn’t find a way to smile in response. No, she only shook her head and brought her hands close to her chest. Marinette looked terribly small as she approached Dinah. “ Knowing this could put you in danger too... ”

Oliver was relieved to hear that. “I’m glad, you really are like my other half Dinah, even when we are getting into really heated fights, I still don’t know what I’d do without you.” He said, shaking his head.  “You’re right though, I think we should just remember that if we really butt heads like that again.”

She really shouldn't have asked for this. It was too late and not the time for regret though, so Starfire had explained how the tamaraneans usually dealt with these beings. They were about the size of a bigger dog, but more cat-like in looks and behaviour, and chance was that if they were left to roam the earthen cities, they would quickly increase in number and potentialy become dangerous to the people too. They were strong and dangerous to fight, and the people of Tamaran usually had groups of at least 5 people to fight one of the creatures, but Starfire explained that since there are only 2 of the beings loose, it should be fine to approach them with less people per being. Rose was the first one to agree to helping, and Starfire smiled at her.

"Wonderful! I thank you! I will teach you the signs of how to read them. It will be wise to know what their body is speaking, that will allow better reactions to their attacks."
