ah, that transformation, it was one kabru had yet to get used to. the horrors of the dungeon were often unexplainable, beasts shifting before your very eyes in multiple different ways. it was often grotesque, mutilating ... but to watch it happen so seamlessly right before him, and for the user to remain in control, as much as he'd absolutely hate to admit it, it was intriguing.
"don't you think that's a bit too much? ..." then again, when it comes to monsters, adventurers often didn't have much of a say in the manner, they used whatever tools they could get their hands on to dispatch the threat. that is, if they had tools in the first place, who knows what would happen if you went into a dungeon bare handed.
"let's just hope those claws of yours are clean. i'd rather not increase my chances of getting sick," he replies, eyebrows knotting briefly, glancing over the elf's new form. well, it would certainly get the job done, and kabru didn't have any professional blades on hand to slice the mushroom like laios and his party. it wasn't the first idea that came to mind, but if it got the job done, then fine by him. the sooner they could end this stupid debate, the better.
❝ are all tall - men this noisy ... ? my ears are ringing. ❞ the canary groaned , olive eyes rolling in annoyance as kabru broke free from his grip. what was such a big deal about it , anyway ? maybe since fleki & mithrun always allowed him to carry & yank them around as he pleased , lycion wasn't used to expecting this much resistance. ❝ anyway , kabo , was it ? try to keep up. ❞
with that , lycion walked ahead of the other , his appearance beginning to shift before kabru's eyes until he was in his beast - man form. if they were going to hunt for ingredients — mushrooms with legs , that is , then they needed to be quick. despite not admitting it often , those squishy things always grossed him out , so he would much rather deal with them as swiftly as possible.
with how low a threat the walking mushrooms were , lycion's transformation was definitely overkill ... he could just as easily deal with them without needing to rely on using his beast - man abilities , but he'd sooner die than pass up an opportunity to show - off his looks. ❝ i wonder if they'll taste better if i dice them up with my claws ~ ❞

golden hues blink briefly, a little startled by just how forward the other was. okay, so the pair had been working tirelessly for the last few days, preparing for their next trek into the dungeon, checking supplies, gathering materials and more. so perhaps they were a little more sleep deprived than they thought, but even still, the words that flowed off her tongue, is was enough to get falin's cheeks to flush.
"m-marcille? ... " that's all that could slip past her lips at first, the heat rising to the tips of her ears leaving the blonde speechless. well, she certainly agreed that they needed a break from all this clutter, but to propose something like that out of thin air, bold move, but would it land?
surprised expression is replaced with a small grin upon her features, a slight snicker beneath her breath. "if you wanted a break, then you could have just said so," she hums, leaning close ans gently placing a single kiss to one of her cheeks. well, she wasn't exactly refusing marcille's offer.

TIME FOR MY HSR GRIND TO GO INTO OVERDRIVE.
for a short summary: i haven't been able to play honkai star rail for the longest time due to storage problems. my ipad has never had enough space thanks to other apps, same with my phone, and with it not being on ps4, i cannot play it there either. my pc, being a mac, cannot run hsr without a windows emulator, and i don't trust any enough to download them.
recently, i replaced genshin on my ipad with hsr, and i've been enjoying it so far. but with my storage once again nearing ful capacity, i'm SO scared i'll run out of space before i get to boothill's banner. i need 9k more jades before i have 180 pulls, so i'm RACING to continue with the main story, finish events, and do as much as i can before my storage eventually gives out and i have to uninstall.
but if i remove the game after i get boothill? that is a reality i can live with. I JUST NEED TO GET ENOUGH JADES BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE LMAO.

"you might not have enough!?-" yikes, those words were quick to fly out of his mouth, concern spiking. oh that wasn't good ... if kabru really did drop dead thanks to his failed attempt at cooking, then they'd really be in trouble. alright, there's nothing to worry about, just focus on not puking your brains out, that should be fine, right?
" ... you're right though, we're not too far down, we should be okay," he muses, trying to keep both of them calm. goodness knows what would happen if they were up against any other hostile beasts, they'd be quick to end up as their meals instead. dark eyebrows knot briefly, hand raised to his mouth as the tall man fights away another wave of nausea, swallowing briefly before returning his gaze. "ugh, who'd have thought a mushroom could do all of this. what a stupid way to die."
❝ yes , of course i'm sure. what other choice is there ? ❞ his answer came out almost immediately , stern & confident in the decision that was made as he eyed the other. ❝ if we both tried to rest at the same time , we'd be sitting ducks. ❞ after all , it was just the two of them. if there had been just one more person there , things would've been a lot easier. right now , even fleki's presence would've been a relief ... ... on second thought , no , perhaps not. any other canary would've been of some help to them , though.
❝ ... i doubt i will be in any danger just from keeping watch. strangely enough , this part of the floor doesn't seem all that hostile. & in any case , i'm aware you're in no state for combat. ❞ the canary leader continued , staggering over to a nearby wall before sitting down with his back resting against it for support. ❝ for now , just focus on saving your strength. & not dying. with how much mana i used up , i might not be able to perform a resurrection spell this time. ❞

update about my dad, for context, look at these posts.
he's been diagnosed with severe bradycardia, a heart condition that pretty much means that his heart rate is much slower than it should be, and puts him at higher risk of other heart problems, or even a heart attack. this is all thanks to him not taking much care of himself within recent years. they're gonna keep him in for the next couple days to monitor him, change his meds around, and we'll see how things go. worst case scenario, he may need to have a pacemaker fitted.
