Andy Weir is so so good at making a HUGE impact when a character cries or breaks down. The rest of the novels are usually pretty light hearted and suddenly BAM. TEARS. and it just really gets me. It suddenly reminds me of the massive impact those kinds of situations would actually have because these people are HUMAN. The reality of what they are going through. Amazing 10/10

Personal opinion with the planned Project Hail Mary movie is that they shouldn't switch Rocky over to English as Rhyland starts to understand him. He should keep speaking in music tones with more subtitles as Rhyland 's understanding of Eridian expands. Like, I'll be really upset actually if that funky little guy isn't subtitles and translation a la Blue's Clues.

imagine being one of the other eridians when ryland and rocky got back?? just like. we sent these guys off into space desperately looking for a cure to our dying sun like 50 years ago and they were only supposed to take 6 years, but they haven't come back yet, and then an alien spaceship lands on your planet?? and one of the 23 guys you sent into space for the first time ever is like hey guys. everyone else died but I found this alien because it turns out not only are aliens real but they're real friendly. also we figured out how to save our worlds. and then this alien just lives on your planet now. like hello???
