Rain seemed quite taken aback at what he said but quickly tried to play it cool. I'm guessing he's teasing him, but what does picking up eggs have to do with that?

Everyone likes to shit on the show and say things like is just porn and having no plot, but no one knows what is going to happen (even the people reading the novel, like is still shocking how they deliver some scenes). I love how unpredictable is. It’s been 6 episodes of complete suprises and is getting better and better.

ive been thinking a lot about phayu's perspective as he falls in irrevocable love with rain. for all intents and purposes, a successful, wealthy, confident man like phayu should NOT be so intrigued by a chaotic, ill-mannered college freshman like rain.
the show makes it a point to say that phayu could have ANYONE he wanted-- he has the looks and the charm and the experience. so why was he so intrigued by rain? well, just because phayu could have anyone, doesn't mean he wants to settle for just anyone. it's obvious that he wants to be with someone who will give phayu their submission. a 24/7 D/s relationship is DIFFICULT to maintain, esp if the parties involved arent completely committed to it. i can imagine phayu has been burned a few times, giving his heart to someone who he thinks might want the same things he does, only for them to find him too intense, too domineering, too overbearing, etc etc. it's not a lifestyle for everyone.
initially, phayu is intrigued by rain because he's pretty, he seems sweet, and he's a little bratty-- perfect for a low-stakes one night stand that probably might keep phayu and his Dominant desires sated for a while. when he first brings rain back to the garage and tries to seduce him, rain is the perfect picture of submission with resistance-- until phayu realizes that they both misunderstood the situation completely. but now that phayu has had a taste of what rain could be like for him... now his interest is piqued.
the scene in the restroom cements everything for phayu. at first, phayu is testing the waters, and rain is resistant in a way that is unclear whether it's because of his bratty nature or if he genuinely doesn't like whats happening. there's a moment when phayu is teasing rain where he pulls away to check in, only to find rain limp, throat bared, eyes closed, mouth open, completely lust-drunk, and phayu raises his eyebrows, like, oh. i think that's when phayu really sees who rain really is, what he wants, what he likes, even if rain doesn't realize it himself. that's the moment phayu realizes that rain might be exactly who he's been looking for all along.
when rain breaks into the illegal street race, it really hits phayu how important rain is to him. the man was absolutely FURIOUS with terror because something horrible could have happened to rain. the only other time we've ever seen phayu lose his temper is when stop spit on one of his bikes-- a disrespect phayu cannot stand for. phayu cares deeply for this boy. suddenly, it's not just a game of teasing, a potentially satisfying one night stand. this is something much more, something phayu can't just let go of without a fight.
but just because phayu wants rain SERIOUSLY now, doesn't mean he's going to throw himself at rain. that's not his style, and it wouldn't be right for them. i mentioned earlier that it's very likely phayu has been burned before by liking people who he thought wanted the same things. his walls are a mile high, so he's not going to jump into this relationship and dynamic with rain without making absolutely sure that rain is committed. when rain issues his "challenge" to make phayu fall in love with him, phayu readily accepts-- but he won't sit idly by. he's going to test rain in every way. he wants so badly for rain to be on the same page as him, but rain isn't there yet. but he could be. so phayu bides his time.
there's a bit of a learning curve with rain. there's an important difference between rain pursuing phayu as reckless revenge, and rain pursuing phayu because he genuinely likes phayu and the dynamic they have. it's a huge obstacle to get over, rain accepting that he desires phayu and his attention, and wants a real relationship with him. that's when he begins his pursuit in earnest, and when phayu starts reciprocating. and he discovers how perfect rain.
i think what phayu wants more than anything else is to be loved by somebody who loves him as deeply and intensely as he himself knows he can. but the situation with rain's failed project highlights what hugely different stages of life they're in. phayu is finding out exactly how stubborn, resilient, and devoted rain can be, even to his detriment. but rain has been so good up until now, and phayu cant punish him. so he issues his final challenge-- be a responsible adult, because phayu wants a responsible, adult relationship. he also says it out of concern for rain-- he doesn't want rain to fail in pursuit of something that is still so unsure. it's the final hurdle, and it will either make or break this budding relationship.
and BOY does rain pass with flying colors. he pulls himself together, works his ass off in a way he likely never has (and was probably very difficult for him) all to prove himself worthy to stand beside phayu. and when he comes to phayu, waiting for him for hours in the pouring rain, to tell him what he's done, it's the point of no return for phayu. i can only imagine how shell-shocked, elated, emotional phayu must have been, to have someone do all this for him, to reciprocate phayu's intense desires and want him just as badly. even when phayu fucked up with the dead phone, rain still waited for him. that's the moment. the point of no return. he's going to give this silly, sweet, wonderful boy everything he has.
their first time is so deeply sweet and intense. you can really see phayu's devotion, the way he worships rain's body, the way he can't be parted from rain for even a second, touching and kissing him in some way. and rain responds so beautifully to all this attention, baring his throat, baring his whole body for phayu's pleasure. rain is absolutely delirious with pleasure, from what phayu is doing to him. outside of the bedroom and inside, rain is perfect for phayu. they want the same things. they slot together perfectly, like they were made for each other, fulfilling each other's desires and needs.
and when they both climax, phayu holds him so tightly, undone, and rain looks like he's going to pass out, head lolling to the side like he's had his brains fucked out. and when phayu tells rain to say he belongs to phayu, rain does, without even a second of hesitation. it's a deeply moving moment of two people who have found their perfect match.
but once theyre in a relationship, they continue to grow and learn about themselves and each other. i don't think phayu has gotten this far with anyone before-- in a committed D/s relationship long term. it shows after the fight with stop when rain says he moves to slowly and phayu frowns in confusion (cute!!) and rain has to take the initiative this time. he continues to be the best boyfriend-- cooling phayu's temper, helping out with the business, even breaking out of their dynamic for a moment to be completely serious about the race with stop, refusing to concede and submit this time. it probably meant a lot of phayu, having someone who cares so much about his well-being.
i think it's no surprise that when rain rides phayu in their iconic scene, phayu is absolutely ruined. it's written so obviously that rain has completely destroyed him for anyone else. it's the blatant desire, the nasty sex, the proclamation that rain is the happiest when he's with phayu. rain is IT for phayu. he's been so guarded for so long, but he found someone who fits with him and brings him so much happiness and joy and satisfaction to his life. when done right, a D/s lifestyle like phayu and rain's is a deeply fulfilling thing. i know they both will guard their precious love.

PhayuRain Dynamics
Short dive into PhayuRain bc we talked about it in the LITA Discord Server a while ago, and I decided to screw my thought about NotWritingMetasBcI'mBadAtIt, cleaned it up and here we go:
Alriiiight, Let's start on the topic, shall we? From the little clues we get from the show (I rewatched PhayuRain's part about 4 times just to make sure) PhayuRain engage in a 24/7 D/s relationship. It's a super rare thing, bc the compatibility is rarely ever given in real life, but IF two find each other (like Phayu and Rain) it's one of the most wonderful experiences a relationship can offer.
But what does it include?
So, if you head over to google you'll find all sort of gross things. Really. Do yourself a favor and don't google it. I saw a lot I didn't want to see (which says sth considering I'm from the field) A real 24/7 D/s relationship is not about one partner dominating the other about every thing. Sure, you can do it. There's no limit and each is their own. But often such a relationship only works when there is a balanced give and take.
Rain, for one, is actually having SUB printed on his forehead. If you ever been a Dom you take one look at Rain and be like "Yep, full sub." Like. there is no other option. But Rain is also a Brat (with capital B).
Phayu is not only a Dom (shows in his behaviour, the way he carries himself, the way his eyes move [Boss is an awesome actor]) but also a Brat-tamer.
(NOT every Dom is a Brat Tamer, and not every Dom's likes Brats. (I for one, don't want a Brat. Not for anything sexual, nor for a relationship. I can’t cope with it nor react accordingly) Every Dom is different. Pls keep that in mind)
We see several instances where Phayu takes a close look at Rain. He checks his reaction, gauges it. He teases Rain just to see how he reacts bc it tells more about a person than any word can. In the bathroom/stall scene Phayu tests the waters. Is Rain just a Brat bc that's his nature? But in reality he's not into getting bossed around? Is he sensitive? Is he able to submit? At first it looks like Rain isn't.
At first it looks as if Rain not only doesn't know he's into men, and specifically into someone with a shining aura of domination, it also looks as if he hugely underestimates Phayu. But a few seconds in, without Phayu actually kissing Rain (he's just teasing. He doesn't have Rain's consent, so he doesn't go down. Unlike the scene in the bed where Rain kicks him off with a pillow - where Phayu had been playing - here Phayu doesn't step over boundaries) Rain bares his throat. The ultimate submission. If you look closely, Phayu goes all OH, his eyebrows go up, his eyes widen when he sees Rain's reaction when he checks in on him. He keeps teasing Rain - again without really kissing him, just a breath of air against his neck, an occasional nosebump against skin - and Rain melts. His fingers clutch at Phayu, fist Phayu's shirt. Phayu rolls his hips once against Rain, and surely feels him hard. It's all the affirmation Phayu needs. Rain is a sub, he's very into being dominated and being told what to do, being told he's a good boy (bc D/s dynamics need quite an amount of praise).
Phayu could have gone further, but he decided to let Rain work through this at his own pace. And that’s what makes a good Dom. The consideration, the keeping strict to boundaries (they have not spoken about at that point, but Rain is like a walking open book, really).
In the later episodes, we see Rain going from clueless virgin to Power Bottom. He learned Phayu's tricks and Phayu's movements. He uses them against Phayu when they start to make out after Phayu won the race. Phayu even tries to gain the upper hand again, presses Rain against the wall, only for Rain to turn around, not allowing Phayu to dictate where and how they are going. In the NC scene we see what a real D/s relationship is about. Give and take. Phayu allows Rain to do as he pleases. He gives him the power of their scene without allowing Rain to become a Dom. It's a balancing act. And they both are incredibly good at it. Phayu is wrecked right after because Rain has learned this much in the short time since Phayu took his virginity. We never see them sitting down and talk, but let's be real, it's what they did. Rain surely hadn't known about D/s before Phayu, but Phayu told him, taught him. No one gets into such a relationship without a lot of communication. And the 2nd NC scene shows how much communication they both went through. A LOT. Rain is a Brat, and he is a Sub, but that doesn't take away the power from him he has over Phayu. Quite the contrary.
First time they get intimate, if you look closely, what does Phayu do? He controls where Rain lies, how he lies. Phayu keeps Rain's hands in place on more than one occasion. This is a form of BDSM. (you may or may not call it like that and yes, I don't like boxes either, but if you go deep into these topics, you'll find it easier with boxes. Trust me. I tried without. It doesn't work.) It's a form of bondage, just that there is no rope. Why is this working for Rain, you may ask? Having a Dom (who knows what he does. May I add how rare that is?) like Phayu, who keeps his attention solely on Rain, checking in on him every few seconds without a word, always gauging Rain's reaction, and adjusting if necessary, is like a dream come true. Rain can let himself fall into Phayu's hands. He can trust Phayu will ensure they will get the best and most out of it. He can trust Phayu loves him and will cherish him. And that's the thing why being a sub is satisfying to no ends.
As a Sub there are a lot of things you don't have to worry about. (which is, again, Rain in person. He's not the brightest star. He essentially needs someone like Phayu who knows what buttons to press to get Rain into the right direction without dominating him into it) A Dom is taking care of their sub, and that is what Phayu is doing 24/7. He keeps his eyes on Rain, corrects when necessary, stays cold and seemingly indifferent to Rain when he is in front of him, but melts into love stricken smiles when Rain can't see him. And Rain? In the course of their relationship we see how he starts to depend on Phayu. Yes, he is his own. He doesn't belong to Phayu. But he gives himself to Phayu. He can work himself alone (can go through daily whatever's easily by himself) but he knows he can fall back on Phayu. Just like Phayu gives himself to Rain. He allows Rain to dictate his life, can't keep Rain out of his head - see the way he got immediately worried when Rain didn't pick up his phone (bc he got kidnapped). The way Phayu frantically searched the house? That's what their relationship is about. Give and take. With D/s dynamics they both bend to their own will.

PhayuRain and the 'Cringe' of Loving

The choice to have a full length song in the uncut version of this episode, sung without accompaniment, is an unusual one in film. Normally we instead see a scene like this ending partway through or it switching from an unaccompanied version to a studio recording. It's a somewhat shocking moment and maybe even to some people watching an overwhelming or cringe-inducing moment.
But to me, I think their performances, the wonderful singing and the choice to do a montage for some portions of the song, all help make this scene work without endless secondhand embarrassment the way it would in others. And a critical part of why the scene works within the larger story is that it's a little cringe.
This is one of those moments that is a pure distillation of their relationship: Phayu is presented as the ultimate cool guy initially in the show but in reality he isn't very cool while Rain is presented as passionate and emotionally clumsy so in this moment, it should be easy for Rain to hurt Phayu.
But that's not what happens.
Rain worries about talking too much and being annoying at the start of the show but in scenes like their movie date, we see how Phayu enjoys listening to Rain's rambles and how well Rain responds to sincere and straightforward expressions of love and care from Phayu like when Phayu whispers that he likes Rain in Ep 5 and Rain spends the next day still thinking about it. This is why Rain is the kind of person who really enjoys having a love song sang to him while at the same time getting very overwhelmed as the song continues and he's not allowed to look away without losing.
This all goes to show that Rain isn't after 'cool senior Phayu' or 'hot and powerful mechanic Phayu', even if he finds those personas fun and hot. Cool guy Phayu is the one that Rain raises his chin at in challenge to while sweet and loving to the point of cringe Phayu is the one who overwhelms and supports Rain and makes him feel so confident in himself and his work.
The singing scene is in Phayu's home, just between the two of them, and it's Phayu letting all his nerdy, loser, cringeness out. Instead of Rain making fun of Phayu's cringe or not getting the message of love that Phayu is using this song to convey, the moment instead overwhelms Rain to the point of needing to cover his eyes.
It's a moment that confirms their match.
Within the cool guy showoff between Phayu and Rain, Phayu had a pattern in which he would tease Rain while Rain offered his many reactions. Over the course of the show, this also gives birth to a dynamic where Phayu flusters Rain with his sincere interest.
Both of these strands come together in this moment: Phayu is being sincerely affectionate and instead of being worried about cringe, he's actually using it to tease Rain and it works, Rain gets flustered, so flustered in fact that he has to run away, while Phayu laughs on. He's laid out his entire cringe self, all the cringe of loving another person and it's gone wonderfully. And that is such an important moment in his character arc because it's really the moment that Phayu's needs and goals for a relationship have been realized.
The fact is that when we love someone, we often do things that are more than a bit cringe but the experience of them is anything but specifically because we love them and they love us.

Love in the air is out!
Alright I'm full of sugar, let's get into this. Starting with characters.
Rain- he's cute, I've always liked the slightly air-headed character completely unaware that in a few ep he will be getting railed by the very man he is complaining about/ crushing on. Oh irony you beautiful devil.
Payu (or phayu?) - horny much? hot, talented and he knows it. Ugh, I do love a good asshole from time to time. The whole neck kissing...I mean...I've heard of the dumpster fire TTTS was so I just hope we don't end up in that territory and I can chuck this up as some in poor taste "teasing"
BUT
Hate to say it...that cheek kiss was cute, they've got some solid chemistry.
Sky- what's it like to be the favorite of the gods sir. Georgous and sass to match🤧 I'm so ready to watch him put prapai in his place and make that man beg for it. I think I'll like their dynamic a lot. I also hope he falls head over heels with mister hot, rich and possibly a-hole. Cuz clearly a-holes are my kink not surprised 😔
Prapai- not enough of him so far to get a good read but hot, rich and he knows it. Asshole with a heart of gold trope? Possibly.
As for plot so far, I like that rain has a big fat homo crush on a guy that helped him fix his car once, cuz same. I don't however like the "make him fall for me in 30 days to...make the girl he likes jealous (?) " not sure if I interpreted the trailer wrong but, unessasary. And really all he has to do is keep having meet cutes with payu who clearly is into the annoying but endearing types.
The music was...fun. Idk if this is the ADHD speaking but at times ide block out the music till the end of the scene and be like "huh was that background music always there?"
The cinematography is better than I expected...tho, that "chase scene" had an unnecessary slow motion shot and it's all I can think about😂
All in all I'm definitely going to keep watching, it's cute and the actors are doing a pretty good job. I've also watched the video of them getting their hair styled and dyed for their roles and their variety (?) show. They are all very cute.

Water droplets resembling rain caresses Rain's cheeks as he tightens his legs around Phayu’s waist. Rain traces the upturned curvature of Phayu’s lips, relishing in the feeling of being wrapped in his boyfriend's embrace in a place that is so far removed from everything. Even though Sky and Prapai dragged the two of them away from their cozy weekend inside for this ‘camping’ trip (camping is used in the loosest of definitions: they set up tents inside their bedrooms of a lovely villa at the edge of the forest), they had no clue that this existed.
Rain and Phayu had stumbled upon it on their hike back, both of them sticky with sweat and exhausted. All it took was the rushing water that dripped from the mouth of the overhanging cave and the unrelenting sun beating down for a dip in the water to seem like a fantastic idea.
Shorts and shirts were shimmied out of, underwear was peeled away and thrown to the makeshift shore of the waterfall, teasing remarks were traded as they slid into the water together. The bruising temperature of the water was not enough to dampen the heat that simmered in their bodies as they touched each other reverently under the water.
Long after the ripples in the water settled and the sun sets, Phayu and Rain remain where they were, wrapped up in each other's embrace. It’s so quiet and secluded here—this little personal oasis that serves as a perfect place to re-energize after a hike neither of them were too happy to go on but still went on to appease their friends.
Rain presses the tip of his ring against the corner of Phayu’s mouth from where it was tilted up. He knows that he should take in the view of nature around them but he’s too preoccupied with that smile. Phayu looks content; he looks careful, unbridled by the weight of the world he sometimes forces upon his own shoulders. It’s such a pretty sight that it steals the breath straight from his lungs.
Rain’s fingers are all wrinkly from the water, completely unattractive, but Phayu has no qualms. He doesn’t seem to find anything wrong with the contrasting image of pruned skin against smooth skin. Bringing a hand out from the water, Phayu lays his hand overtop Rain’s own, forcing the younger boy to cup his cheek. He nuzzles his cheek against Rain’s hand, puffs of air swaying the fallen locks that escaped from his bun.
“Beautiful.” Rain breaths out, feeling a rush of adoration flood his veins as water drips from above. Rain has never seen a more beautiful sight than his P’Phayu half-swathed in darkness, lounging underneath a waterfall, eyes shimmering with an emotion that could only be described as unwavering love.
Phayu hums, nuzzling his cheek in closer while his other hand reaches up to trace the dopey smile on Rain’s lips. “I agree,” he teases, “the stars are beautiful.”
“I’m not talking about the stars.” Rain keeps his eyes glued to Phayu’s face as he speaks, not a care in the world for ‘the stars’ because the entire solar system seems to live in Phayu’s dark eyes at this very moment. Why would he ever gaze at the sky when he could gaze at Phayu, his Phayu, the man he loved? “I’m talking about you.”
Phayu mumbles something that sounds like ‘shameless’ before he’s leaning forward and capturing Rain in for a kiss that leaves them both breathless and aching for more. “Beautiful,” Rain repeats, pecking Phayu on the lips, “beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.” He ends each declaration with another chaste kiss, grinning as Phayu’s chest starts to rumble in amusement.

Rain looks so smug in this sequence, as he should be. Also appreciate the positive reinforcement Rain provides with his compliments
I love Phayu's side-profile right here! The reddish-brown tint of his hair is apparent and pretty, and it's just a nice shot all around. P' Saifah walks in and calls him a meanie, to which Phayu replies "don't piss me off." Look at poor Phayu being all grumpy bc he couldn't tease his Rain more.
P' Saifah, the voice of reason, reminds Phayu that while it's good that Phayu is worried about Rain losing focus, he shouldn't be too mean or Rain will run away.
Sidenote: P' Saifah, I don't think you'll get through if you're "straight" with him, just saying...
Ok I LOVE this sequence because yet again, we have Phayu having full faith in Rain's abilities AND confidence in his feelings as well as Rain's reciprocation of them. We stan one confident king <3 I also love the upbeat, kinda jazzy background music here - it makes me think of the word whimsical for some reason, except the point being made here is that neither Phayu nor Rain are acting on a whim. Weird mental contrast...
And then P' Saifah summarizes the whole PhayuRain situation for us in one sentence with a necessary addendum:
And then we cut to Rain taking his work seriously while my other son, Sig tells us about his atrocious hygiene habits
I love how even while showing us that Rain's working hard, we're also made aware that he's prioritizing his time with Phayu too. Yay work-love balance!
Only someone with the brilliance of Sig's single braincell could come up with a nickname like Cloud Jizz for Rain. Unparalleled and highly perceptive

Then we cut to the next day, after everyone has turned in their homework. Ple invites Rain out for food together, and Rain's face goes through the funniest sequence of expressions as he tries to figure out a way to get out of it bc he planned for this time to be spent parading in front of Phayu dammit! He ultimately fails though and presumably goes to eat with her.
This is literally "QUICK, THINK OF SOMETHING, ANYTHINGGG"
Ok folks, here begins Phayu's complete and utter descent into ruination courtesy of Rain. We know Phayu is attracted to Rain from the beginning, but to me, this is when we really get to see what that means.
But first, Rain what is this sleeping posture? How are you breathing with your windpipe nearly smushed like that? Also how is your tummy not cold? Are your feet getting any blood circulation? Seduction should not come at the cost of safety
Then we get Phayu coming in wearing yellow and blue, a color combination I never thought I'd see on someone who wasn't Sonic the Hedgehog, wearing a fuzzy soft smile
This is honestly just a really good angle for Boss. Petition for over 50% of shots to be taken of this particular angle. Also there's something so sweet about Phayu helping Rain out with this little task - this scene makes me feel so warm. Loving the trend of backlighting with bi-colors every time they're in this room!

Just an observation. I know there has been discourse around the spelling of Payu/Phayu with people giving linguistic explanations of why they think it should be Phayu. I personally have some thoughts about the way the English language functions but don’t really want to get into them bc I don’t feel like writing in detail lol. But I did find it interesting that Boss spelled it Payu in his recent Weibo post.
Before completing this post, I decided to quickly search Twitter, and found that not only has Mame also spelled it Payu, one of these tweets confirms a long standing thought of mine!!!! Payu was NOT teasing Rain for having a small sized dick. Because obviously you don’t measure underwear with dick size. But Rain DOES think that’s what he meant.

Love in The Air: the end of an era
Quick commentary of the special episode
So, why does the intro of the special episode slaps harder than the actual intro???
Okay but I love how touchy Sky got with Pai; like when Pai takes him out of his brother's hands and Sky is trying to ease Pai I find it so endearing how he is also hugging Pai back and playing with Pai jacket.

Phayu in any time of clothes hits so hard honestly. He is fulling every one of the fantasies ever made (mechanic, architect, doctor, pilot, korean prince)
Likes and the defending of my favorite boy
There’s a lot of things I liked about this episode: Pai switching his tone of voice between angry with his brother and soft and lovely with Sky, Phayu talking with his friend (which, yes, I do love their chemistry, how tf Boss gets to do that?), Rain and Sky jealous and possessive over their boyfriends and also being horny and giving up to them.
What I liked about it too, something we also see in the series in general, is both part of the relationship focus on pleasure the other: Sky knows how to play physical with Pai and Pai loves to worship the fuck out of Sky when they fucked. Phayu and Rain deal with a lot more of D/s tones, focusing on Phayu giving Rain pleasure and therefore Phayu enjoying the reactions of Rain, I feel like their relationship in this episode got more room to develop and make the watchers understand their relationship more.
I love how this series emphasizes the importance of giving pleasure to both parts and is not just the “top” giving and doing all the stuff.
I will stand on this hill and defend the shit out of Rain no matter how much the show tries to make him look like a comedic relief, mainly because I love those types of characters. I will like to briefly talk about the structure of the episode being built on jealousy and insecurity. Things we had seen more in the Pai and Sky relationship. Here’s the thing, Rain is insecure dating someone as cool as Phayu as everyone else might be, like, Phayu is literally a god to everyone's eyes, Rain included. So it makes sense that for once Rain wants to keep him to himself.
What I find interesting is the reason why Rain got “really” mad with Phayu; one might think it would make more sense for him to get angry at Phayu cosplaying for everyone (because as they said, cosplaying is something Phayu does for Rain, and only him). But, nop, our boy got mad because Phayu was talking with our beautiful girl Natsu. And is more weird when you focus on what Phayu said to Rain when he was confronted: Rain said Phayu was kissing that woman, and Phayu said that’s something he only does with him (aka he only kisses Rain).
Look, we have the var way to high for dealing with Phayu mocking Rain most of the time so I maybe my biases toward Pai and Rain makes me wanna grab Phayu and making him understand that Rain needs verbal validation AND backup when they are with people and not only when they are by themselves. Like, the boy is crying because he always gets made fun of and Phayu goes and does that.
But overall, Phayu does know how to approach Rain and make him feel good not only physically but mentally too. He knows how to get on Rain's good side because he understands the reason why he got mad is important to him. Also, I am going to fully believe (I will in fact pretend the scene where Rain confronted Sky and saying stuff along the lines of “you knew they were coming all along?” is not a scene perse and just a fever dream BECAUSE I WANT TO) Rain did all of that - ignoring Phayu and going on a trip with Sky- because he wanted to have something more spicy in their lives and what more can he give to his boyfriend than a perfect honeymoon and unlimited sex in the beach? Exactly, nothing can beat that.
I don’t have to brag and talk about how beautiful it is to see our Sky have confidence in himself and brag about his boyfriend but also see him struggle too with his known insecurities. I am obsessed with it. I don’t know if I say it but this show actually goes in depth with how the parts of the relationship worked in individuality and then they go about their relationship in pairs. Love is not about finding a boy who will fix all our problems (we wish) but to give us encouragement and support to actually get to that place where we can be fully ourselves. I like that Sky wasn’t automatically “fixed” after him and Pai became official; the nightmares are still there, the insecurities too, are not all gone just because Pai is there. They got better, yes, but not faded. That’s a work in progress and the part in the beach where Pai says he will wait until Sky is ready and even if he is not, he will still be there OH MY GOD, PEAK CINEMATOGRAPHY AND SCREENWRITING. Nothing, and I say, nothing in the BL universe will ever top that scene, sorry for all the BLs to come but my heart has already sealed that place with that scene.
Masterminds
Also, I think the idea of Rain and Sky planning the trip beforehand and doing it for their boyfriends makes more sense than thinking they were just living in the moment. Like, for real, we are talking about architecture students. I don’t really think they have a bone of spontaneity in their body when it comes to things like their boyfriends. Why else will we have not only Rain BUT Sky too give his boyfriend the time of their lives? Like, they had some planning to do in their free time away, don't get me wrong; they do enjoy it for a while but they do get really into giving their boyfriends a surprise because they both knew they were coming to get them.
Last thoughts
Anyway, I will say I love this episode more than the entire series all together because of how much I love already established relationships and their dynamics. However, I also think it is a good way to end both couples' stories and show how they work after all the drama they have been through. I love PaiSky more for the emotional support, the slow-burn and the reverse meeting (fucking then feelings) but I like PhayuRain for comfort and cuteness; more from Rain tho. Overall, the story and the elements work really well most of the time and the weather is such a great element present all over the series and gives it a more strong feeling and is a hint on how much the story took effort to build.
Now, let’s go find another show to hyperfixate and write shit about.
