Spaceverse Phanos / Gaia sketches!
This features a lot of paineater characters hailing from Phanos, or folks that currently live there too, along with some characters who originally came from Gaia. This category has a lot of overlap with the tons of Faer sketches that are coming up, as a lot of characters have moved from one planet to the other over the course of the RP, and family ties stretch across both. Sketches that were already in a previous batch or saved for the Faer ones won't be included here for now.
In order, we have: Tarsus, Agneta aka Nettie, Thea, Titus, Kara, Diana (dating Al from Phanos), Cyrus, Kyra, Tigerlily (her mother Dahlia moved to Phanos and married Cyrus), Damon, Magnus, Fiona, Eamon, Cassian Ketos (from Faer, but just happened to be on this page), Rory, Divya (also a Faer character), Donovan, his daughter Hazel, older Hazel and Kara, Hazel with Kara again, Jean Paul (from Gaia), Helena, Titus, Adam with his kids Luisa, Dawa and Tiago (aka Tiggy), Adam with Tiggy, Adam solo, , Corrine, and Seamus.
Then we have some older sketches, including: Adam with his mom Athena (in previous verse, her name was Anna), his dad Tyran, Tarsus, Tyran and Adam using their powers, Anton, Dr. Dorian with his daughter Marta (Gaian but they later move to Phanos), Alex and Fabi Dionne (ditto), an older Alex, Kliff, Pauline, Jean Paul, Pauline, and Ernesto (in this verse, he's a phantasm from Illumina, but this is an older sketch of him from an older story.) These still need Spaceverse AU versions, but I wanted to archive these older drawings for reference.
Sakume owns a lot of these characters, including Tarsus, Titus, Kara, Cyrus, Tyran, Athena, and Damon, and I own the others here.

Dionysus Deity Guide
Content warning: Dionysus is linked heavily with sexuality and sexual themes will be prevalent throughout this post.

Who is Dionysus?
Also spelled “Dionysos”, he is the Greek god of wine, ecstasy, and theatre to name a few of his areas of expertise. He was later adopted by the Romans who referred to him as Bacchus. Dionysus was known as being “twice born” due to the story of his birth(s).
The story of Dionysus’ birth is a tragedy, beginning his life with his mother’s death. The story goes that Hera caught wind of Semele’s pregnancy with Zeus’ child and convinced her to ask Zeus to show her his true godly form in order to prove that he really was Zeus. This true form was too much for a mortal to handle and Semele was consumed by fire—or the heat Zeus’ lightning bolts. Not wanting his child to die with her, Zeus sewed Dionysus into his own thigh (thought to mean his testicles).

Enorches ("with balls"), with reference to his fertility, or "in the testicles" in reference to Zeus' sewing the baby Dionysus "into his thigh", understood to mean his testicles). Used in Samos and Lesbos.
Iacchus, Ἴακχος a possible epithet of Dionysus, associated with the Eleusinian Mysteries. In Eleusis, he is known as a son of Zeus and Demeter. The name "Iacchus" may come from the Ιακχος (Iakchos), a hymn sung in honor of Dionysus.
Lenaius, Ληναῖος ("god of the wine-press")
Phleus ("related to the bloοm of a plant").
Pseudanor Ψευδάνωρ (literally "false man", referring to his feminine qualities), in Macedonia.

Notes
Dionysus may have been worshipped as early as c. 1500–1100 BC by Mycenaean Greeks.
After birth Dionysus was said to have been sent to be cared for by Nymphs at Mount Nysa, the identities of these Nymphs varies by source.
His wife, Ariadne, was abandoned by Theseus on the island of Naxos. In some myths she is slain and/or ascends to immortality to live with her husband on Mt. Olympus.
Once he was an adult, Dionysus traveled to the underworld to bring his mother back with him to Olympus where it’s said that Zeus then turned her into the goddess Thyone—Goddess of the Bacchic frenzy that his female followers experience.
Dionysus is regularly found with groups of satyrs and maenads.
Another name the Greeks had for Dionysus was Bacchus, this was the name the Romans would later adopt for the god. Bacchus means “the noisy or riotous god”, fitting for this buck-wild deity! (Said with affection, of course.)
Along with wine, ecstasy, and theatre, Dionysus was known as a god of vegetation, madness, and frenzy along with quite a few other specializations.
Once a group of pirates kidnapped Dionysus who planned to sell him as a slave (or other unsavory things, depending on the myth); he overran their boat with creeping vines and beasts, and caused the men to go insane, then turned them into dolphins as they jumped overboard.
Dionysus has been depicted in many ways over time but two prevalent depictions are either him as an androgynous youth or an old, bearded man.
Apparently Dionysus hates owls; rather he hates the “sight of an owl” (Theoi)
As Bacchus he was commonly depicted as having ram or bull horns.
Dionysus had many cults throughout the ancient world including not just Greece, but in Scythia, Eastern Europe, Libya, North Africa and Gaul, Southern France as well.

Spaceverse Faer sketch dump, part 3!
Back again with more recent colored/WiP sketches of Faer related characters. This time we have, in order: Rhys, Esther, and their son Daniel (Danny) when he was younger, then Rhys solo, then some Fomorian/Fae characters with Dimitri, his sister Sasha, their parents Fyodor and Natalia, and Yosha. Then we have a chibi drawing of some of the kiddos, Rosie, Hope, Gwyn, and Bran. After that we have Roksana, the wildfae Sela, Tristan (should be with the Phanos characters, but he happened to be on this page), Galatea (Gal), Eulimene (Mena), Amanita, her daughter Ramona (both newly introduced to take the roles of Aliana and Joan), Aedus, Cynder and her little brother Chase.
Then there's some older sketches that predate the RP, including: Malin, Halldor, Randall (not yet in the RP, but will likely appear as an ally/friend of Josefa's on Apex Prime), Danny (doesn't have his Spaceverse color palette here, this is from a previous story world where he was a human mage with water magic), another Danny sketch from before this RP, and then a very old sketch of Ancia and Arlen that I still love and wanted saved here.
Dimitri, Yosha, Rosie, Bran, Cynder and Chase belong to Sakume, and the other characters depicted here belong to me.

Theme of Ananke
I plan to one day write an entry about the importance of the Theme of the novel. For now, I will only say that it’s difficult for me, to find the Theme. Usually, it happens only once the story is finished. I hear it’s not wrong, though.
Ananke’s Theme is:
Prevalence of Human Will over Fate
Its tag line – or one-sentence summary, if you will:
When two rivals are faced with an inevitable disaster, they overcome their animosities to prove that human minds can beat destiny.
The theme is incorporated in the story’s title – Ananke. Or rather, I should say, the title dictated the theme, because it was first, after all.
Ananke is a Greek primordial goddess. Older than Zeus and all the Olympians – and stronger, too. She was the daughter of Hydros, god of primordial waters and Gaia, Mother Earth, a sister to Chronos, god of time, and Phanos, god of light and new life. Mother to Moirai, the Fates, and to Chaos.
She is a personification of necessity, inevitability, absolute compulsion, the force compelling mortals – and most of the Olympians – to submit to the verdicts of Destiny.
I don’t believe in Destiny. I don’t believe our fate and our future is predetermined by the will of any supernatural being or force. Instead, I believe we all shape our lives and the only outside influence, comes from the will of other people around us. Oh, alright, and the nature, but nature doesn’t have a will of its own. It simply exists around us, following the rules of physics, and chemistry, and biology and other sciences.
Among all that, all those influences, it is us, human beings, who decide; who choose how to react to all that happens to us, and through those choices – shape the world.
Those choices, those decisions, lie at the foundation of my story, Ananke. A story, where a spaceship seems to be heading towards an inevitable disaster and yet, the decisions of a few humans, and their determination in following through, save the ship. A story where one man chooses to sacrifice himself, because he believes he’s been living on “borrowed time”, and the other convinces him that it is just a choice he’s making. And that he can make another – to continue living.
Now, having figured out that theme, I know that the ending doesn’t fit with it. The very ending, I mean, like, a few final paragraphs. I don’t quite know why I haven’t fixed it yet, but I should get to it shortly.
Thank you for reading.

🔙 Do Over AU
Birb jolted, looking around, their heart racing. They... were back in their room at Clocktower? No, something felt... odd. Strange, things felt bigger, and- And they could See. Their hands came up to their face, feeling only smooth soft skin, none of the ridged thick scars they'd become so familiar with. Scrambling, they raced to the bathroom, their heart hammering in their chest. Their hair was short and purple again, they still had their eyes, the scars from their bout with ectoacne were still not quite faded away... Birb rushed back out into the room, scrambling and throwing pillows around until they found their phone. Somewhere in their heart, they knew what day it was. Looking at the date only confirmed it. Today they would be blinded.
They panted, trying to calm their racing heart. Birb didn't have time to mourn, didn't have time to cry over losing their husbands, their daughter, the life that had still been growing in their belly. They didn't have time to freak out and wonder how they would get any of it back, if they even could! They didn't have time to wonder why any of this was happening! Why they'd been sent back so suddenly.
Vile was coming, and Birb didn't have time to fuck around and wait to be found. Even with grief and pain clawing at the back of their throat, they stood up, jaw set, and rushed out of the room. There was time to find Clockwork, and Dan, and Phanos, and Fright. There was time to get ready. Birb wasn't going to be caught off guard this time. They weren't going to be stuck doing nothing but running this time.
Vile wasn't going to get shit from them this time!
They could figure out the rest after.

We’re my theory on the 4 descenders of Teyvat:
1- Phanos. Self explanatory if you’re up to date on the lore. The primordial one who fought the seven sovereigns and loved humans so he made the world for them.
2- Celestia. Also a little self explanatory because they fought Phanos off and became the new gods.
3- I think the heavenly principles and Celestia are two different things. The god we see when we first start the game calls themselves the heavenly principles and is fighting in what looks like Celestia, and Nahida has said that the ‘heavenly principles have been quiet since khaenri’ah’ but I think she just means Celestia. I’ve seen people say Gold or Alice are the third descendant and it makes sense since they have definitely have a great expanse of knowledge and inventions from them, but there’s no hints that I know of them that came from a mother world. Yet the unknown god in the beginning doesn’t look like they fit in with Celestia and they use a power we’ve never seen in the game so far. I think they came from another work and fought Celestia.
4- the traveler. Why the other sibling is recorded in irminsul I don’t have an idea yet, other than the tree is bound to the abyss and they’ve been working with the abyss for 500 years.
