So here is a genuine question so, if denim vests, dresses, pleated denim skirts, and even shoes, pretty much all denim everything, flares too, crops, shrunken blazers, and even gauchos are making a comeback...
How long will it be before sequined shrugs or regular shrugs and layering make a return from a roughly 18 year hibernation?
Like you ask yourself in a store off racks or see on teens and the early twenties and generally younger humans walking down the street, is it like 2006 again?
Even Timberlake is supposedly collabbing with Timbaland and Nelly Furtado. NSYNC, in full as a five piece, who mind you, has been split up for well over almost 20ish years, may even might reunite. It feels crazy. 2006 was what? A whole adult has been born lived their entire toddler and adloscnet eras and is now currently in 2023, an adult since then. That is crazy.
I can’t believe im saying this, but I am lowkey here for it, and dare I say interested and entertained. In the same breath boom, I feel dreadfully old. Even the members of my generation peers and the 40ish members of NSYNC. I joke about it often to myself, but ugh, it's not really a good feeling despite physically being fine as to be expected. The thirties suck.
The gods of fashion say fashion comes in cycles. I suppose this is what it means. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
I refuse to be old or become old. I make an effort though I lowkey wish I had a cocktail like Meryl Streep had in Death Becomes Her where I remain ageless and can wear all the beautiful clothes with a yoga toned body and looks to match. Life ain't like the movies, and you see all or most of the clothes you donned in middle school or high school on teen children or on the youth of today. I didn't sign up for this.
Yikes, this is how my mom probably when flares came back in the late 1990's or when I was obsessed with watching Nick at Nite or TV Land with the shows of her time like it was brand new. Let's also not forget the VH1 and 80s obsessions. It's a boomerang, it's a cycle and it's driving me crazy.

I get a lot of my POV of how I feel Billy would react/grow/make mistakes from how I've seen my dad in my life. My dad was the 3rd youngest of 9 back in the 60s as a little boy, and he experienced a lot of things in life that I'm surprised he's even told my mom and I of as much as he has.
When people say that abuse and recovering from abuse is complicated and messy and not always sunshine and roses and happy tears? They mean that. Life isn't easy to deal with in our world on a good day, so can you imagine the struggle of learning how to be what our world requires of a functioning human, when you've never been treated like a human yourself by those who are supposed to nurture and care for you?
Do you guy's realize how far that can set someone back in life? How much it can effect their every waking day?
My father and I have our moments where we can't see eye to eye because of some normal barrier of difference, that's just life, but I can dissolve 90% of my father's opinions down to the fears that he has because of the life he experienced.
Abused people can often stay...heightened? at all times. There is not a day my father does not work because he believes the moment he stops working is the moment he has failed his family and will send us into further poverty. He might be correct, he also might be wrong and is unable to see that he doesn't have to further degrade his already broken body into dust just because he takes a few days to do nothing or to focus on himself.
Billy himself his close in age to my father, only about 9 years younger than my dad and I can say with certainty that the way society and people in general treated children, let alone low class abused children, was horrific and predatory.
I'm not really sure what I want to say with this, but when I see people saying that people like Billy shouldn't be helped or they should die or be shunned- all I can see is the same shit that people have been giving my own father his whole life.
The looks, the judgement, the distaste- like they are looking at some kind of dirty animal only fit to be put to work or put down.
You people do realize how evil you sound right?

Favourite colour: Purple or that weird blue green thats not quite teal that you find in the ocean but it isnt really a color as its not a pigment but instead a refraction
Currently watching: Uhhhhhh.... It counts when you only really watch stuff with your friend right? I guess, Dropout? And Hermitcraft.
Sweet/savory/spicy: Savory, Savory/Spicy, Savory/Sweet, Sweet, then spicy on its own. Oh but i just had watermelon with tajin recently and i had forgotten how much i love that particular spicy sweet combo there. Hm.

Happy new year, everyone! I'm sorry i don't have any special celebratory content to share. I did want to mention that my recent (and likely continued) scarcity can be blamed entirely on this dude
I'm doing my first real run in BG3 as Tav!Rhodry and I'm Going Through It (positive). It's especially fun because before I really got to know him in FFXIV I played him in a DnD campaign with some old coworkers. He's not a healer in this universe but I finally get to do all the fun ranger and druid stuff I can't do with him in XIV and I'm loving it.
I will resist blabbing about him too much haha!

im like sooooo over people moralizing mistakes so strongly when they're teens. especially autistic teens. "shes so creepy" no she just didnt read these social cues right and had no clue you didn't want her around. "he has no boundaries" no he just watched other people interact that way with their friends and thought that's how everyone interacts with people they like. "they're so toxic" no they're 14 and didn't know that's not how people are supposed to interact. idk being a teen is such a horrible place even without other teens using progressive language to make their peers feel like predators for not having perfect interpersonal relationship skills. feels a bit like bullying to me.

Thoughts, in no particular order:
No longer job hunting. Today was fine. I was being dramatic. I am great at my job and no other would give me the flexibility I have now.
October is so busy I may cancel our annual Halloween party.
I was excited to be [REDACTED] for Halloween now idk may just throw something together
Mom's hip surgery reschedule conflicts with my annual engineering conference and I am presenting. Twice.
Maybe I should go back to therapy or finally get disgnosed for anxiety.
Mom wants me to meet her boyfriend before her surgery so it's not "akward". Ma'am, I am well past giving a shit about awkward.

Unfortunately, a medical condition I have has flared up and drained me of all energy. That explains my lack of presence here. It will get better, but it’ll take time.
