more alien fashion- this time, from my original planet Kha-El (or Kha II, of the Kha system). modeling is my character Yuros, a member of the dominant species.
Members of this race experience the change in seasons through the changing of their own skin and hair. Over the course of a local planetary year (over twice as long as terran years), they shift from the lightest shade on the left, to the darkest on the right, and back again. For some kha-elians the process can be quite grueling at times, as more rapid shifts in color may result in heavy shedding or molting.
The rest of the planet shifts color, too. Everything from the flora and fauna, to the dirt, sands & muds they walk on will shift color as the weather changes, thoroughly embedding color into their culture.
The most popular fashion on kha-el usually involves some kind of iridescent or otherwise color-shifting fabric (see image). Solid color, with no texture, sheen, or shifting property, is often seen as quite sterile.
This proud race of people has a rich history of vibrant colors and powerful emotions. Like many races, they were once far more militaristic and conflict-driven. Since their warlike days, they’ve evolved to value personal dignity, respect for others & healthy competition.
Socially, it’s popular to bond over small tests of skill, wit, dignity, and endurance. In some occasions, simply entering one’s space can be considered a challenge- and will surely be met with enthusiasm. It’s equally popular for people to take bets on these contests, therein participating in the bonding themselves.
This combination of a violent past and a modern culture of respectful competition are reflected in their high fashion today- with many garbs and gowns including a built-in personal-space-bubble. They serve as both a proud statement of boundaries, encouraging respectful distance from others, and as an elegant (if not impractical) accessory.
i have much more to say about this race- particularly in their anatomy, skills, and culture. (note to self- expand on how militaristic past reflects in current culture) for now, have this!
in meta, i was inspired a lot by the filaments of flowers like lilies. theyre so bold and dramatic and alien, but dainty and elegant all the same.
the floral inspirations are pretty obvious in the coloring of the first one, what with it looking like pale petals.
the coloring of the second one was inspired by that swampy rain color, and the pattern by drops of dew on spiderwebs.
third one was inspired by…. the epic movie from 2013. and also the cups they serve moscow mules in. they can’t all be insightful, i guess.

i think most of my troll’s names are p easy to pronounce since it’s mostly all phonetic, tho i think the ones that might trip people up are
eichio maccau: eye-kee-oh mak-cow
quidel benrii: kee-dell ben-ree
aegiel lachan: ay-jee-el la-chan (or la-charn would be more accurate to how i say that, but i think that’s solely due to my accent lmao)
somerl alfero: soh-merl al-fer-oh (’merl’ as in ‘merlin’, i feel like i remember someone calling him so-meh-ril once)
vetise tselao (aka velour): veh-tease t-say-lo
mikiel giacho: mih-kee-el ji-ah-ko (tho more often than not i say gee-ah-cho because i am lazy lmao)
viltau espino: vil-tow es-py-no (the ‘ow’ rhymes with ‘cow’, and is the same ‘ow’ sound in eichio’s surname)
pratap chaoua: pra-tap chow-wah
belamy alchys: bel-a-mee al-kiss
then you have the ones that i know i pronounce incorrectly but i think they sound more pleasing to the ears when you say the character’s full name
dismas teufel: dis-mas tew-fel (instead of toi-fel)
aislin cudovi: eyes-lin cu-do-vee (instead of ash-lin)
charon acerbi: cha-ron ay-sir-bee (instead of kha-ron)
davitt cesare: da-vitt sez-air (instead of chey-zuh-rey)
and a good rule of thumb is that all my ‘ae’ names are pronounced ‘ay’ (raesul, aegiel, linnae), and all my ‘ei’ names are pronounced ‘eye’ (eichio, [zotick] aureio)

Teaching Sarcasm (Blue Beelte x Reader)
Author’s note: ahaha, hate the end tho... (You can find my masterlist here, check out my patreon maybe ?)
Words: 1435
Warning: None..? The gif is not mine it belongs to its owner/creator.
Resume: Five times, Kaji Da didn't understand your sarcasm, and Jaime had to explain to him that it was a joking way. One time where Kaji Da responds to her in a sarcastic comment.
Tumblr media
1- During group night.
''Yeah, because I'm sooo scared!'' You responded jokingly at something Megan had said. The gang was hanging out, but you weren't frequently part of that gang, for you were not a young hero. And Jaime was glad about it. It was already hard to see his friends get hurt weekly. He didn't particularly want to see his newly acquired girlfriend the same way. Were you aware that he was a hero, well, he never did tell you explicitly, but you weren't dumb either.
''Jaime Reyes, your mate, does not seem in a position of danger, why would they say such things if they are false?'' Jaimes groaned internally.
Scarab, while being one with Jaimes, had yet to understand your frequent use of sarcasm. Six months it had been going on. ''They're joking'', he muttered under his breath. Superboy turned his head toward him with a frown, but Jaime only smiles in his direction, clenching his hand on yours for a second. You didn't ask him about it. He liked it that way.
Preferred it, was more like it. You didn't ask questions, because the last time you did when he came back to your home all battered and a suspicious amount of blue retracting to his back, he snapped at you that it was too dangerous for you to know. You'd been angry at him for some time, maybe you still were right now, but you didn't ask any more questions after that night. And you didn't ask questions about that weird group of kids he was hanging around—all weirder than the others. For that to he was glad.
2- Date night at your restaurant.
There was this small restaurant. A little outside of El Paso where Jaime had taken you for your first serious date, it had soon become 'your restaurant.' It was funny seeing as you had your table near a window, the waiter knew your names and your drinks by heart now. You reminded people of their grandparents in a way.
''I have more important things to do...'' Jaime was saying. The conversation had led to the homework he still hadn't done for the next Monday. You rolled your eye.
''Yes, because running around all night is way more important than your education!'' You responded in a smooth voice, putting honey on your toast. Maybe their honey was better than the one you had at home?
He stared at you, his mouth full of eggs, incapable of defending himself. But before Jaimes could swallow, Sacrab interrupted his train of thought.
''Jaime Reyes, your mate, resent anger, it seems like a trap.'' The poor boy nearly choked on his egg. He hissed once his throat was cleared.
''It's not a trap, they're angry!'' He whispered yell at the voice in his head. You rolled your eyes, not asking who he was talking too, you already knew the answer, It's hard to explain...
3- Study time
''I'm telling you, Miss Keller wants us dead. Why else would she give us a million of pages to do before tomorrow.'' Whined Jaime, his head resting on your shoulders while you were actually doing the ten pages homework your teacher had given the week before. You'd agree it was a bit much, mainly because of his nightly shifts of whatever he didn't want to tell you, but doable if you did a little bit each night. You hummed in response.
''Why did I have to take french, you are a sadist, you know that we could have taken Spanish, but noo, you wanted French.''
''You already speak Spanish at home, Jaime, that would have been too easy for you...'' you sigh, turning your page, pencil raised in the air like a missile waiting to be dropped.
Jaime gave you a disconcerted look. ''So what? It would have been funnier!'' He crossed his arms across his chest and started pouting. He wasn't usually one to sulk, but he felt playful today, and he really didn't want to do his homework.
He finally made his mother agree to you and him alone in his room (without entirely closing his door though) on the argument that it was calmer to study. And you were actually studying—what a loss.
''Sure, et tes devoirs vont se faire tous seuls, Jaime?'' You responded, raising your eyebrows and gesturing at his book open before him. He frowned and pushed you lightly, playfully before retaking his pen.
''Your mate doesn't seem angry, or having un this time, Jaime Reyes, why do they use this tone now?'' Asked Scarab in his head.
Jaime groaned, wishing his school would have a course on how to become a telepath.
''They're mocking me...'' he whispers.
4- When you met someone you disliked.
Jaime knew that you didn't like this one guy at school. Jacob, or Jerry... or was it Aaron? Anyway, there wasn't a particular reason why you didn't like him, you know those who just irritate you and breathe the same air as you do? That guy, whatever his name was, was that kind of person for you. He was also the kind of guy that liked talking to everyone.
That was why you were currently sitting outside the school during lunchtime, facing Jaime, while Jacod/Jerry/Aaron/whatever was sitting on your right.
''Did you guys heard about the last party?'' Asked the guy, he hadn't stopped talking since he sat down next to you, twenty minutes ago. ''Aight, Imma tell you.''
''Oh, please do, we're dying to know.'' You grumbled under your breath, your head resting in between your arms.
The guy looked so insulted, gazing over to you than on him, just as Scarab spoke.
''You mate does not feel intense excitement toward the tale, nor are they dying, why would they say such things?''
Jaime used the confusion on the boy's face to respond to both his questions and Scarab's. '' I think they're tired.''
5- That one fight
He arrived at your house, still dressed in his hero costume. And you had recognized him. He looked like a mashed potato and absolutely refused to talk to you. Thus bringing your rage to him.
''So what, I'm too stupid for you to even tell me about this? You expect me to be fine with you getting killed? Do your parents even know? Did you even think about telling me?''
''I told you it would be dangerous if you knew...'' Jaime started to say, but you cut him off.
''Oh, because while I didn't know, it wasn't as dangerous! For sure, I could still die or be captured and tortured, but yeah, sure, I was perfectly safe!'' You roared in a fake and dry laugh.
Jaime had his face in his end by the end of your sentence. In his head, arguments for his silence were running around, and Scarab's voice was not helping anything.
'Your mate has good points, Jaime Reyes, but I don't understand why they agree with you...' he was saying. The boy grunted.
''I'm sorry, (Y/N). That I made you mad and felt unprotected... and that I didn't trust you'' You sighed.
''Just'' you started, voice restrained as if something inside of you was hurting ''next time something that could get me killed happens in your life, tell m okay? So I'll know.''
6- Sassy Khaji
Jaime was listening to you talk excitedly about the oral presentation you had to do in French (he was your partner in that project because Heck no, he won't let Jimmy or whatever be it). The subject was free as long as it wasn't sexual or in another language than French. And because he participated in hero-ing work, he used Khaji Da's knowledge to bring up his first hero, which became one with the Scarab, Pharaon Kha-Ef-Re.
Your group of mutual friends listening by one ear, because it wasn't to them, you were talking anyway, Jaime sighed. If life could be like that all the time, his would be very much less complicated.
''As if you don't like the thrill, Jaime Reyes.'' Muttered Scarab in his head. Surprising Jaime with his tone of voice, which as suspiciously close to yours.
Jaime took his phone as if he was receiving a call and walk a bit farther away from the group.
''Are you sassy-ing me?'' He asks, his phone near his ear.
''Your mate always feels better after talking like that...''

CHARACTER PAGE
Here you will find the characters in my story, listing their name/alias, title, quirk, and status.
Status Guidelines:
A main cast character is always open to asks. They play a pivotal role in the story.
A side character is open to asks. They play a supporting role in the story.
A minor character is a recurring character but not one open to asks.
A featured character* is a character I have borrowed from friends. They play a supporting or major role in the story, but are not open to asks.
A character’s status is flexible and might change as the story progresses, save for featured characters*
This page will be updated periodically.

OOC Question Thingy
Tumblr media
Favorite colors: Black, Gray, Blue, and Green :)
Last song listened to: “The Hot Wind Blowing” by Jamie Christopherson (I listend to alot of game OST’s because I need motivation in my life LOL)
Favorite song: “Black Soul” by Shinedown
Favorite Musician/Singer: Shinedown! I literally lost count of how many years its been since I started listening to them up til now. Heck its been like since I was a lil kiddo, even use to go to a couple of their concerts and tours back then but I hardly ever been going now. I really need to catch up doing that again!
Last film watched: Bad Boys for Life (Bad Boys 3) I loved watching this movie with my dad since he loves Will Smith and I love a bunch of action movies :D
Favorite TV show watched: B: The Beginning (Even though I watched this 7 or 8 hecking times, even on Netflix... OOF) Im still waITING FOR SEASON 2 PLZ; No Game No Life, El Dragon, Granblue Fantasy Animation, Fate Series, Re:Zero (Okay yeah most shows i watch are anime AHAHA... except for El Dragon, its something my dad has me watching now)
Favorite OC: Vitale Maestro, shes my main bean uwu - I done alot of stuff to put about her... but sometimes I feel like it may not be good enough or at all but Im trying not to let it be too much of a bother. Even if what she is doesn’t make sense, too alienating, or give off such an unexpected precept like being “out of this world (literally)”, I really love how I made her out to be and I wouldnt change her at all (unless i feel like it ehEHEHE) From other people ( @lavender-hemlock ) Haine Reverent, ( @lareine-kira ) Lareine/Iris, ( @yuki-yukichan ) Yuki, ( @evangeline-cross ) Eva, ( @alun-ura ) Alun + Skadi, ( @kazexvoss ) Kazex, ( @jump-n-dive ) Castiel, ( @suzue-ffxiv ) Suzue, ( @kha-merc-ffxiv) Kharagerel, ( @divinebenis) Rei, ( @fair-fae ) Faye, ( @isuke-ejinn ) Isuke, ( @az-ffxiv ) Azguikharaal, ( @vysaldhe ) Xau, Xharoa, and Njorthbiartr, ( @under-the-blood-moonlight ) Wrath, and.... much more! Not in order, just what came to mind ^-^ but theres lots of other OC’s that are super awesome too! And yours is awesomesauce also! :D
Sweet, spicy, or savory: Would definitely go more in the sweets. I like spicy too alot but ive been cutting low on it because its been giving me a bit of an issue where I get tired too fast or feel like I’m gonna pass out (which never does that before) and im not too sure about savory honestly
Sparkling water, coffee, or Tea: Coffeeeeeevgjndstjkdcaawsqfb, but ye, I prefer Coffee. Tea is good too but again, Im mire of a coffEE addict. Im not a huge fan of sparkling water sadly .-.;
Pets: NoPE! .... ;~; ... I love animals to death but my parents hate animals, which sucks as long as I’m living in their household. We use to have a family cat (I miss her ;-; ) But once everything settles down I can work on finding my own place and hOPEFULLY i can adopt a bunch of floofs/doggos/kitties/and maybe a parrot
Tagged by: @lareine-kira Thanks for the tag! 💙 ( Im sorry I was so hecking late with this ; m; but thanks a bunch cutie! 🖤)

Notations?
Aum
___
A fresh new  lead
After exploring notations- how does one remember movements, choreographies…. Looking at notations and notes of dancers to see how they approach this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How does one remember somatic discoveries?
Can i look at the stories and translate them into notational language and energy play than as dialogues?
--loo-
Form and Spine and Breath
A - the form of A - push between two opposite slanting forces - and a wedge in between
That is →  THE SYMBOL OF ALPHABETS
The alphabets itself were meant to denote certain movements - movement of breath. Movement of the body - the voice apparatus. The effect etc. A truth.
K - upward and downward inclines pushing against the same vertical point at the same time.
Ka- the first of the consonants in Indian Languages
Aa - First of the vowels
Ka- is the inhalation / the tucking in
A - is the exhalation / the unfurling
All consonants start with a sharp inhalation
All vowels are exhalations
All inhalations are the inward tucking of the tail in the cat cow post
All exhalations are an unfurling  and releasing of the energy through the spiral.
All consonants are originate / are accentuated / have a certain root and routes along/at particular points along the spine.
Ka - right at the tail - the very beginning of the vandanam- at the beginning of the first move forward - small inhale-tucking in-core. Unfurl the core into the long stretch.
Attention on spine - quietly with only breath enunciate Ka Cha Da Tha Pa. See where in the spine shifts and pressures are experienced
Ka Kha Ga Gha Nga --> The set makes a particular wave along the spine. So does the rest of each set.
( At some point look up information on water/wind patterns. And what happens when they encounter pressures and obstructions.)
** the symbols in english and malayalam and hindi and even tamil can be used to give clues.
In tamil,
Mei-ezhuthu - the body writing - consonants - where spine becomes active
Uyir-ezhuthu - breath writing - vowel- where the breath is operating alone
Ka - K - ക - क़ :Lowest spine
Cha - J / CH - ച : Swadishtana area/ lower belly
Da - D/N - ട: Solar plexus/ lower chest
Tha - T/D - ത:Heart/  upper cest
Pa - P - പ - (फ़) : Behind throat
__
Consonants are in the realm of action. Karm Krishna Karan Kriya kartha Kaal Kali Kaam.Physical world movements
__
Some where in this is where text meets the body. The truth of the text is layered over the truth of the body. Truth of the text is tested against the fundamental truth of the body.
We keep looking for it.
____
I leave. Closing the door quietly behind me. In gratitude. For the insights. With hope for silence and harmony, deeper understanding of Self
_
Prompts that came in from friends to explore the words and to trace their meaning through the journeying of the spine
Mu: kangan / panghat / thumkat /chahat /dariya
Ro: Kashnam /  Chandham / Dhaasyam / Thaalam / Paajagam
Na: Kathir. കതിർ. A new shoot, a ray of light.
Bha: Ka - Cartography. Because who are we if not people constantly drawing maps. Of our minds, hearts and the lands we inhabit
El : Kathirunnu /Chaata mazhayil /Dance cheythu /Thaalathil /Pattu Paadi Njan

What's so terrible about Karamel?
I don't understand why people are so vehemently against Karamel
Season 2: Yes, I recognize that Mon-El was not Supergirl quality to begin with. But that's the thing about Supergirl. Her real superpower is that she doesn't just see who someone is in the moment - she sees their greatest potential and works with that to make it happen. As an elementary school teacher I recognize this, admire it, and strive to practice this myself with real people. We hold students to high standards and, often, they live up to those expectations.
Supergirl held Mon-El to high standards. She was patient and gracious towards him and, in return, he grew. Yes he was a slave owning, misogynistic, frat boy of the universe when he was fresh from Daxam where that was the norm. No logical Mon-El fan will deny that. But that was how he was brought up. His parents didn't raise him to be a thoughtful, brave hero. He CHOSE to be that. It wasn't a perfect transition. He didn't do everything for the best reasons - he made a lot of mistakes. He chose the hero path because of Kara, but continued to be a hero long after she was no longer fighting by his side. Not everyone is born with the innate desire to be a hero like Kara. Mon-El acquired that desire when he was inspired by her. This is a redemption story!
If your argument is that she should be with James. I have to agree that they shouldn't have destroyed that so quickly and immediately introduced Mon-El but the show switched networks! They had a different vision. At least the show didnt get cancelled! Also if you think she should be with James so they could be an interracial couple and the CW is being racist go watch Barry and Iris on the Flash and John and Lyla on Arrow. Kara and James just didn't work out. It happens.
If you're a SuperCorp fan. I'm sorry to say but maybe Kara and Lena just aren't gay. I have a best girl friend who I would risk my life to protect but I'm engaged to a man. Kara loves Lena as a bestfriend but she's in love with Mon-El. You can keep hoping for it but don't need to hate on Karamel.
Season 3: This has been a tough one for everyone. Mon-El is obviously torn. Kara is his true love. Thousands of years in the future he has no hope of ever reuniting with her. We now know that their marriage was to bring two worlds together for peace. If you never have hope to see your true love again - why not let yourself feel something for another woman? But now, back in the present, she's there in the flesh - no longer a memory. How can you blame him for feeling something for her again?? It's not misogynistic - it's human. Kara didn't die in his mind, they were forcefully torn apart. He didnt choose to leave her. He chose life over death. Imra is a beautiful, lovely woman and I don't want her to be hurt, but I think it would be more painful and upsetting for Imra if Mon-El only stays with her because he feels obligated. Nobody should be a second choice in a marriage. If Mon-El chooses her because he loves her and truly wants to be with her then I will respect that. But if Mon-El is going to be hopelessly in love with Kara for the rest of his life (kha nd vice versa) he is better off staying in the present with her. Besides, in the comics, Imra is married to a different superhero. She deserves to find her true love as well.
Anyway, thanks for letting me rant a bit! No matter who you ship let's join in the sadness we have to wait 10 weeks until the next episode! :(

Remains of the 3,000-year-old 'Lost Golden City' discovered beneath Egyptian sands
Tumblr media
Archaeologists have found a “Lost Golden City” that’s been buried under the ancient Egyptian capital of Luxor for the past 3,000 years, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced Thursday (April 8).
The city, historically known as “The Rise of Aten,” was founded by Amenhotep III (ruled 1391-1353 BCE), the grandfather of Tutankhamun, or King Tut.
People continued to use the “Golden City” during Amenhotep III’s co-regency with his son, Amenhotep IV (who later changed his name to Akhenaten), as well as during the rule of Tut and the pharaoh who followed him, known as Ay.
Despite the city’s rich history – historical documents report that it was home to King Amenhotep III’s three royal palaces and was the largest administrative and industrial settlement in Luxor at that time – its remains eluded archaeologists until now.
“Many foreign missions searched for this city and never found it,” Zahi Hawass, the archaeologist who led the Golden City’s excavation and the former minister of state for antiquities affairs, said in a translated statement.

His team began the search in 2020 with the hopes of finding King Tut’s mortuary temple. They chose to look in this region “because the temples of both Horemheb and Ay were found in this area,” Hawass said.
They were taken aback when they began uncovering mud bricks everywhere they dug. The team soon realized that they had unearthed a large city that was in relatively good shape.
“The city’s streets are flanked by houses,” some with walls up to 10 feet (3 meters) high, Hawass said. These houses had rooms that were filled with knickknacks and tools that ancient Egyptians used in daily life.

“The discovery of this lost city is the second most important archeological discovery since the tomb of Tutankhamun,” which occurred in 1922, Betsy Brian, a professor of Egyptology at John Hopkins University, said in the statement.
“The discovery of the Lost City not only will give us a rare glimpse into the life of the ancient Egyptians at the time where the empire was at [its] wealthiest, but will help us shed light on one of history’s greatest [mysteries]: Why did Akhenaten and [Queen] Nefertiti decide to move to Amarna?”
(A few years after Akhenaten started his reign in the early 1350s BCE, the Golden City was abandoned and Egypt’s capital was moved to Amarna).
Once the team realized they had discovered the Lost City, they set about dating it.
To do this, they looked for ancient objects bearing the seal of Amenhotep III’s cartouche, an oval filled with his royal name in hieroglyphics. The team found this cartouche all over the place, including on wine vessels, rings, scarabs, colored pottery, and mud bricks, which confirmed that the city was active during the reign of Amenhotep III, who was the ninth king of the 18th dynasty.

After seven months of excavation, the archaeologists had uncovered several neighborhoods. In the southern part of the city, the team also discovered the remains of a bakery that had a food preparation and cooking area filled with ovens and ceramic storage containers. The kitchen is large, so it likely catered to a large clientele, according to the statement.
In another, still partially covered area of the excavation, archaeologists found an administrative and residential district that had larger, neatly arranged units.
A zigzag fence – an architectural design used toward the end of the 18th Dynasty – walled off the area, allowing only one access point that led to the residential areas and internal corridors.
This single entrance likely served as a security measure, giving ancient Egyptians control over who entered and left this area, according to the statement.

In another area, archaeologists found a production area for mud bricks, which were used to build temples and annexes. These bricks, the team noted, had seals with the cartouche of King Amenhotep III.
The team also found dozens of casting molds that were used to make amulets and decorative items – evidence that the city had a bustling production line that made decorations for temples and tombs.
Throughout the city, the archaeologists found tools related to industrial work, including spinning and weaving. They also unearthed metal and glass-making slag, but they haven’t yet found the workshop that made these materials.
The archaeologists also found several burials: two unusual burials of a cow or bull, and a remarkable burial of a person whose arms were outstretched to the side and had a rope wrapped around the knees.
Tumblr media
(Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities/Facebook)
The researchers are still analyzing these burials, and hope to determine the circumstances and meaning behind them.
More recently, the team found a vessel holding about 22 pounds (10 kilograms) of dried or boiled meat. This vessel is inscribed with an inscription that reads: Year 37, dressed meat for the third Heb Sed festival from the slaughterhouse of the stockyard of Kha made by the butcher luwy.
“This valuable information not only gives us the names of two people that lived and worked in the city but confirmed that the city was active and the time of King Amenhotep III’s co-regency with his son Akhenaten,” the archaeologists said in the statement.
Moreover, the team found a mud seal that says “gm pa Aton” – a phrase that can be translated into “the domain of the dazzling Aten” – the name of a temple at Karnakbuilt by King Akhenaten.
According to historical documents, one year after this pot was crafted, the capital was moved to Amarna. Akhenaten, who is known for mandating that his people worship just one deity — the sun god Aten – called for this move.
But Egyptologists still wonder why he moved the capital and if the Golden City was truly abandoned at that time. It’s also a mystery whether the city was repopulated when King Tut returned to Thebes and reopened it as a religious center, according to the statement.
Further excavations may reveal the city’s tumultuous history. And there’s still a lot to excavate. “We can reveal that the city extends to the west, all the way to the famous Deir el-Medina” – an ancient worker’s village inhabited by the crafters and artisans who built the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, Hawass said.
Furthermore, in the north, archaeologists have found a large cemetery that has yet to be fully excavated. So far, the team has found a group of rock-cut tombs that can be reached only through stairs carved into the rock – a feature that is also seen at the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Nobles.
In the coming months, archaeologists plan to excavate these tombs to learn more about the people and treasures buried there.

Sombat’s Thai Cuisine: A New Kind of Comfort Food
The decades-old notion of comfort food may produce different ideas depending on who you’re speaking to. Trinidadian palettes have had quite a bit of influence so that comfort food here can mean “Dhal and Rice” or “Oil Down” just as much as it can mean “Char Siu Kai Fan”. But can we venture so far as to include Thai food as comforting to Trinis? Here lies a territory not many have explored – yet.
In a life-long quest to find comfort food we’ve stumbled across only a few winners, and our most recent addition has got to be Sombat’s Thai Cuisine.
Word on the street is that the head chef at Sombat’s Thai Cuisine used to work at Tam Nak Thai, and whether true or not, his cooking experience shows. His ability to create delicious blends of coconut, lemongrass and spices is the truest form of sophisticated comfort food.
We’ve been recommending Sombat’s to people quite a bit lately, and are always surprised to find just how unknown they still are. Their unusual beginnings may have something to do with this.
Sombat’s former location involved a real obstacle course. Housed on the inside of a bar in El Dorado, customers used to have to dodge karaoke singers, drunken dancers and bar stools to get to Sombat’s inside window, where the only way you’d know to order through there is by seeing someone before you do the same. If you were lucky to get one of their five shared tables in the bar, you’d sit and wait to be served. Otherwise, it was strictly take-out.
For a reason that obstacle course lovers will never understand, in July of last year Sombat’s made the move to a proper stand-alone restaurant. Now Sombat’s Thai Cuisine offers a much more orthodox dining experience in Spring Village, Valsayn.
The bright green Sombat’s Thai Cuisine sign might be easy to miss the first time, but a useful trick is to head south along the Southern Main Road past the old Kaydonna, and just as you approach Mode Alive, keep looking to your left. Parking can be a pain when there are more than four guest parties, but once you don’t mind risking your life to cross the road, additional parking is available in the side street opposite Sombat’s (the entrance road to Mode Alive’s compound).
Here’s how these servers of delicious comfort food scored in our individual categories.
Ambience and Décor –  6.5 out of 10
Tumblr media
We have to say upfront that Sombat’s Thai Cuisine probably isn’t the kind of restaurant you’d take a special someone for a romantic anniversary dinner. Quirky purple curtains matched against neon-green walls, bright lighting and fake flowers on the tables all give Sombat’s a more casual feel. Where they do earn points is the enlarged wall art depicting scenes like a marketplace in Thailand, their padded neutral-toned seating and their cute elephant figurines as part of the table décor.
  Flavour – 9 out of 10
The menu at Sombat’s Thai Cuisine can be intimidating with so many options, so our advice is to stick to the authentic Thai dishes. We’ve tried a couple of the not-so-Thai dishes like the “Thai Style Oyster Sauce Chicken” and, truth be told, some of it tastes like regular Chinese food.
Our recommendations are the Tod Man Goong (Prawn Cake) and Thai Pepper Wanton Appetizers; the Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut) Soup; Chicken or Tofu Green Curry; Shrimp or Chicken Red Curry, and; any meat option with Panang Curry. Once you stick to classics like these, we promise that the flavours will almost never disappoint – the chef really does put soul into his cooking.
Tumblr media
               Tod Man Goong (TT$70)
Tumblr media
              Thai Pepper Wantons (TT$35)
Tumblr media
              Tofu in Green Curry (TT$63)
Tumblr media
              Chicken in Green Curry (TT$68)
Customer Service – 7.5 out of 10
Sombat’s Thai Cuisine doesn’t have particularly bad customer service but, like most Trinidadian restaurants, they fall short in some areas. For example, food orders can take a bit long when they are busy – we strongly advise against showing up in person to place a take-out order, as you could easily find yourself there for the most part of half an hour. We also can’t make any promises that you won’t hear random outbursts from the kitchen (true story). But seriously, the food is STILL worth it!
Value for money – 8.5 out of 10
Sombat’s curries range from TT$63 to TT$95 and are enough for 3 servings with just rice and no other sides. Their pad thai dishes range from TT$53 to TT$85 and can feed 2 regular eaters as a stand-alone meal. Soups are large enough to be a meal for one person (TT$43 to TT$65). Generally, considering quality and taste, you get pretty good value for money here.
Sombat’s lunch specials are also where you can find a good deal. From 10am to 2pm they offer rice or noodle meals for TT$50 (chicken, pork, fish), TT$60 (tofu) or TT$65 (shrimp, beef), allowing guests to choose whichever style they like off the main menu.
Tumblr media
Chicken in Pahd Kieng Lunch Special (TT$50)
Tumblr media
Shrimp in Pahd Kieng Lunch Special (TT$65)
The area they fell short are the dishes that are not so great on the menu (mentioned in the “Flavour” category above) but are still highly priced.
  Overall Experience –  8 out of 10
Sombat’s curries and broths are right up there with the best comfort foods one can find. They can awaken your senses and give you the kind of therapy only food can provide. Sure, they have a few things to improve on. But sometimes really good food is all the reason you need to visit a place. And there’s always takeout!

11 Great Places To Eat Before Going Out added to Google Docs
11 Great Places To Eat Before Going Out
Where you decide to eat dinner has a big impact on the trajectory of your night - especially if you’re planning on going out after the meal. Pick someplace too snoozy, and you’ll be in bed by 10. Choose somewhere that only serves salads, and your stomach won’t be prepared for the rest of the night. And you definitely don’t want to eat at some sh*tty clubstaurant where the tuna tartare is made with StarKist and the vodka is watered down. So whether you make a regular habit of pregaming at dinner, or this is the first time you’ve gone out since before LA had a football team, we’ve picked some places (in actually fun neighborhoods) where you can cut loose, drink a bit, and most importantly, have a great meal before your big night out.
The spots  Jakob Layman Same Same $ $ $ $ Wine Bar ,  Thai  in  Silver Lake $$$$ 2835 W Sunset Blvd 8.0 /10
If you’re going out in Silver Lake, you could wait in line for two hours at Silver Lake Ramen. Or, you can have an even better, more fun meal at Same Same, a Thai wine bar directly across the street. Get everything that catches your eye, and split it all - the khao soi, chicken laab, and (appropriately) drunken noodles are all highly worth your time. Pair it all with a bottle from their natural wine list, and you’ll be as ready as you’ll ever be for a night at The Satellite.
 Ronan $ $ $ $ Pizza ,  Italian  in  West Hollywood $$$$ 7315 Melrose Ave 8.5 /10
In a neighborhood with no shortage of fun restaurants, West Hollywood’s Ronan is among the best. The patio is always crowded with young people housing pizza and drinking high-concept (and highly drinkable) cocktails like the Rickey Menáge (gin, with three different types of fennel and grapefruit), or the bourbon-based Strawberry Fields For Now. We recommend going all-in on the pizzas - our favorites are the the guanciale-heavy Sweet Cheeks and the zucchini flower and stracciatella-loaded Zucca - and maybe adding in the Señor Carrots (served over spiced yoghurt and honeycomb) and the almond pesto-y burrata, too.
 Jakob Layman Sun Nong Dan $ $ $ $ Korean  in  Koreatown $$$$ 3470 W 6th St Ste 7 8.3 /10
Sun Nong Dan might be the best-known place in Koreatown to end your night (they’re open 24 hours), but this is just as good of a place to start it. Besides a few rounds of Hites, your order here will include just one thing: The gabi jjim, a brilliant, spicy red stew loaded with short ribs, carrots, potatoes, onions, and rice cakes. It’s ceremoniously served in a massive cast-iron pot, and then blowtorched by your server to melt the cheese on top. If there’s one thing that’ll prepare you for a night of pounding soju, this is it.
 Jakob Layman Yours Truly $ $ $ $ American  in  Venice $$$$ 1616 Abbot Kinney Blvd 8.1 /10
For some reason, you’re going out in Venice tonight. While this is usually not a good decision, you can save the night by starting it at Yours Truly. This is one of the only places on Abbot Kinney where you’ll actually find people who live in the neighborhood, and not just Gucci-shod tourists spending too much money on grain bowls. Yours Truly’s menu is full of buzzwords that usually turn us off, but the dishes are genuinely great - avocado hummus with peanut salsa macha, killer Nashville hot shrimp on milk bread with pickle-y slaw, and cacio e pepe fingerling potatoes that you’re going to want another order of at 2am. You’ll need it after going to Roosterfish.
 LA Guide: LA’s Best Party Restaurants Read  El Compadre $ $ $ $ Mexican  in  Hollywood $$$$ 7408 W Sunset Blvd 8.4 /10
Starting your night at El Compadre is definitely taking a risk - meaning you might have three margaritas and not remember anything after 7:30pm. But it’s a risk you should take, because this spot on the border of Weho and Hollywood is worth whatever memories you may or may not be sacrificing. Don’t expect too much from the food - this is a place that lights their margaritas on fire, after all - but it’s exactly what you want when you’re about to spend the rest of the night doing tequila shots. Get the Camarones a la Diabla - fiery hot shrimp with rice and beans. It goes great with that flaming marg.
 Portuguese Bend Distillery $ $ $ $ American ,  Bar  in  Long Beach $$$$ 300 The Promenade N 7.6 /10
Starting your night at a distillery would usually be an absurdly aggressive move, but Portuguese Bend is a little bit different. Mainly because they’re also a full-blown restaurant. This spot is right in the center of the chaos by Fourth St. in Long Beach, which means that whatever bar you’re going to afterward - Bar Tiki Tiki, Beachwood, Elinor - is nearby. Get a martini with the house-made Smoke Bay gin, share some pastrami chili cheese fries, and Nashville hot chicken strips, and you’ll be ready for wherever the night takes you.
 Jakob Layman Bar Amá $ $ $ $ Tex-Mex  in  Downtown LA $$$$ 118 W. 4th St. 8.1 /10
DTLA’s Bar Amá is the perfect place to begin a night of bar-hopping in the Historic Core. That’s not just because their high-end Tex Mex is among the best party food in the city, or that hip-hop is always playing from the speakers to a packed crowd - it’s that their margaritas are absolutely fantastic. They’re relatively straightforward, but they’re strong, and the chili lime salt rim completes the dish. Pair that with some off-menu puffy tacos, and the queso-loaded nachos.
Ahgassi Gopchang $ $ $ $ Korean ,  BBQ  in  Koreatown $$$$ 3744 W 6th St 8.0 /10
Starting the night with Korean BBQ is definitely a choice, and one we fully support before partying in Ktown. Ahgassi is a place with the ideal combination of atmosphere, affordability, and quality for this occasion. And it will almost certainly have you ready to sing your face off at Soop Sok later on tonight. We recommend a bottle of soju per person here, and the beef combination.
 Bar Caló $ $ $ $ Mexican  in  Echo Park $$$$ 1498 W Sunset Blvd 8.4 /10
The main section of Sunset in Echo Park is one of the only parts of town where you can truly bar-hop - but you need a place to start your night before all that. And preferably, a place with great cocktails, before you descend into tequila shot-madness. Make that place Bar Caló. They have mezcal-based cocktails and a great menu of filling small bites you can make a meal out of - think chipotle peanut salsa, tom kha ceviche, and mole-doused Oaxacan hot chicken. Eat them on their tiny patio, close your eyes, and pretend you’re on the coast in Mexico (instead of an Echo Park parking lot).
 Highland Park Bowl $ $ $ $ Highland Park $$$$ 5621 N Figueroa St
No, you’re probably not used to starting your night with dinner at a bowling alley. But Highland Park Bowl isn’t just any bowling alley - this spot on York has great pizzas, and shockingly good cocktails on tap (especially the Old Fashioned). Bowl a couple strings before dinner, and then head upstairs for pizza. Get the prosciutto and arugula, the sausage and ricotta, and whatever else looks good to you.
 Jakob Layman Jones Hollywood $ $ $ $ Italian  in  West Hollywood $$$$ 7205 Santa Monica Blvd. 8.3 /10
If the only time you go to Jones is at 11pm after hitting four other bars, you’re making a huge mistake. Because as much fun as it is to end the night at this dark, Old Hollywood-inspired spot in Weho, it’s even better to start it here. Get there right at 7pm when the dining room opens, head straight to the bar, and get your martini before things start to get too backed up with orders from the tables. And, while maybe it’s not the most innovative pasta in town, the cast-iron spaghetti and meatballs is all we want to eat before we go across the street for tiki drinks at Formosa Cafe.

THE AFRICAN HERO, KING MWANGA MUKASA
Today is that Pathetic day, when Uganda house Negroes come together to remember, the so called "christian martyrs"- colonial and slave trade collaborators, that were killed by King Mwanga of Buganda Kingdom. The resistance of King Mwanga against British colonialism, European Christianity and slave traders, has been turned upside down. However, the so called christian martyrs weren't burnt to death for being Christians, but for advocating slave trade. As they believed strongly that Africans were inferior people and should be put into slavery, by white Christians. Today, gullible Ugandans and poor African souls have failed to understand, that African people were on this planet 2.5 million or more years before any Europeans was born. Thus, the European appeared only 7000 years ago! Meaning that, Afri-kha spirituality (Horus/Osiris) go back thousands of years before the White Jesus con., and King Mwanga could have known this....making him a great African hero.
King Mwanga was already enlightened
The stories of Jesus are very similar, with the Afri-kha (Horus/Osiris) spirituality even possibly contributing the title of "Christ." Horus and his once-and-future Father, Osiris, are frequently interchangeable in the mythos, as in the scripture, "I and my Father are one. The legends of Horus go , and he (or Osiris) shares the following in common with Jesus: • Horus was born of the virgin Isis-Meri on December 25th in a cave/manger, with his birth being announced by a star in the East and attended by dignitaries or "wise men. • He was a child teacher in the Temple or "House of the Father" and was baptised when he was 30 years old. • Horus was also baptised by "Anup the Baptiser, who becomes "John the Baptist." • He had 12 companions, subjects or "disciples. • He performed miracles and raised one man, El-Azar-us, from the dead. • The Afrikhan god walked on water. • Horus was transfigured on the Mount. • The Afri-kha god was killed, buried in a tomb and resurrected. • He was also the "Way, the Truth, the Light, the Messiah, God's Anointed Son, the Son of Man, the Good Shepherd, the Lamb of God, the Word," etc. • He was "the Fisher," and was associated with the Lamb, Lion and Fish ("Ichthys"). • Horus's personal epithet appears to have been "Iusa," the "ever-becoming son" of "Ptah," the "Father." • Horus (or Osiris) was called "the KRST," long before the Christians duplicated the story. Numerous ancient artifacts depict the baby Horus being held by the virgin mother Isis—the original "Madonna and Child." These motifs can be found in ancient Egyptian texts as well as other artefacts. The Anti colonial and slave trade resistance, wasn't a one thing off, but a life-time struggle for King Mwanga. The colonial education system, has distorted the facts, as always...., and the internet search engine being under the control of imperialist forces, its the same distorted nonsense you're very like to find out there- to the extent, they've labelled King Mwanga a murderous homosexual of Christians. Unless black people free themselves from the colonial education system, and fake European and Arabic spirituality, then we shall continue to be collaborators in the destruction of the African race. Long Live King Mwanga Mukasa Joram Jojo
