Updated my desktop for December! (yes I know it's still November. Shhh. I'm getting ahead of schedule)

I tried to make it both holiday & Life Series themed, which is a hilarious premise that I think turned out pretty well.

Backgrounds are made within Canva, using watercolor art and abstract color backgrounds. Last year I had a very strict design style, which is why my choices this year are a lot more loose. Next year's backgrounds I expect I'll switch back to a slightly stricter format, as it's easier to quickly update month to month.

The desktop clock and picture frame display (which switches between a bunch of poetry & art I have saved) are the Widgets app from the Microsoft store.

The pretty post-it notes are the Simple Sticky Notes app! My fave part of them is the ability to set opacity, as I like things a little see-through.

The circle clock is added using the Atome skin within Rainmeter, which allows for the addition of many custom desktop reskins/widgets.

My favorite part of my customization is the tiny sun in the middle of the clock- if I scroll up or down on it, it raises and lowers my screen brightness! That's the Backlight skin, also in Rainmeter.

Man, so close. 😔 we would’ve hope after seeing him putting new upgrades to his PC desktop. And yet somehow doesn’t seem looks completed as of now. Nevertheless, we’ll see if it’ll live again for the final part next week. Pray that never goes wrong afterwards though.

I built my first PC!

Here's a video where I'm assembling the motherboard and installing it in the case- plugging each component was too complicated to record though sooo I didn't include the cable management part whoopsies

I actually built it in December before my exam period so I could properly focus on studying. I have done so much research to choose the right components for the right prices. I even bought some parts second hand because it's just stupid to buy things that are brand new- when you can get the same things for cheaper that have been barely used...

But yeah, it was fun :3

So there's this song about a robot.

Well, to be more broad and specific at the same time, it's an AI. It's been learning how the world around it works thanks to the help of the various different users that log online to use it. The machine was beyond happy to be at the service of its users, taking a shine to one of them in particular. And so, it sings this tune, smiling eagerly to play with its beloved user, saying whatever typical phrases a computer says in the hopes of amusing the one it loves, and the machine was certain, as it was not human, that this would last forever, even if the user it loved the most had passed on. But technology doesn't stay the same, not forever, at least. Time passes on, and as technology becomes more advanced, the machine has its parts slowly but surely changed. Parts are removed to take advantage of whatever new processing chip could keep it connected to the internet, and software updates came aplenty, wiping away whatever used to be there. So the machine starts to think. Am I still the same AI as I was before? Where does the line between "me" and whatever has replaced my parts start and end? Living forever is technically possible, but with increasing changes to user interface and programs used, was the machine really the same model as it started off from. It wasn't living, so it wasn't "learning" from experience and changing as a result, so despite retaining the same memories and the positive emotions it had towards its users remaining, this machine ponders eternally. Am "I" still "me"?

My Filipino pal is about to set up with his new upgrades that sure hope revive his custom PC once again. 🙂👍

Nice of sharing these items he’ll be needed to continue this topic, but also got his job that I’m so proud of him if he can handle things.

Though he’s not only one as I’ll be saving my latest item post share during the weekend.
