Mick disgusted as Kabru eat monster eggs, meanwhile, Kuro seems to want to have a bite. No thoughts, only food.

Daya's eyes reveal <3<3<3<3

Chilchuck laying there like a ragged doll. Just. Yes.

Holm's face in the corner. His soft aah hair. He is like: "it's ok now, you can revive"

Daya feeling nauseous after going through portal just like Namari and Holm looking (probably worried) at her.

"Was she hurt? No good if she was, I can't revive her here... Oh, no, wait, right, she gets like this after a portal, its normal."

Maybe it's just the jock in me, but I think about Steddie going to the gym soooo much. For a lot of different reasons lmao. Part of it is that I think it's a great place for Eddie to thirst and be confused at how homoerotic so many of the rituals around the gym are, but also because there's a lot of humor in Eddie going to the gym.

He has a lot of energy, and we know he has some muscle, likely just from day to day activity, mechanics, band equipment, etc. He seems like he would enjoy being outdoors, and hiking or exploring. Something that is a work out but doesn't feel like one if you do it right. Despite all that, he absolutely has the vibe of someone who hated gym class (which, same), and probably would claim to hate working out/doing physical activity.

I just know that when Steve finally convinces him to go to the gym with him, Eddie would be SO MAD at how much he loves it and how great it makes him feel. He is absolutely that post that is like "you mean regular exercise is good for you and makes you feel good???? is good for your mental health??"

He feels lied to, he feels cheated. Maybe he should've expected this, now that he's dating a jock, but he thought that his jock was an exception. He hates jocks. What is happening to him.

Of course part of it is just that it's not gym class, which is not good at catering to any demographic other than "generally athletic and doing a school sport". Another part is that Steve is very big on making sure he doesn't hurt himself, and making sure that why he lifts and shit are at the level he is actually at. Steve would not allow him to overwork himself. He likes that he looks after him and likes that they are able to do something together that aligns with Steve's interests and not the nerd herd's.

It becomes a great way for them to spend time together in public, and it's extra fun when Robin comes along, or when they manage convince one of the others to join them.

The funniest part would be how much his friends would heckle him for it though. It's all affectionate, but Gareth every practice makes a joke about how he knows how Luke Skywalker feels, now that his "father" has betrayed him. Lucas is smug every time he shows up for a session with Steve, and Eddie is there too. it takes a lot for Eddie to remind himself he can't fight a toddler.

(He refuses to admit that he knows Lucas would win.)

The worst though, as @starsvs brought up, is that Steve would look at Eddie, who loves the outdoors, is good at staying hydrated for dnd/the band, and is now working out regularly? And go "babe I think you're a jock now" and Eddie would lose. his. shit.

Eddie genuinely takes a moment to consider if this is what is going to cause him to dump his boyfriend, because he better take that slander back right the fuck now. Eddie? A jock? The very antithesis of everything he stands for? The sheer dramatics that statement causes is enough to keep Steve laughing for weeks. Eddie would grumble and bitch for days, laying on the floor complaining about him!! being called a jock!!! Wayne is just calmly sipping his coffee and watching his boy go on and on, because its certainly more entertaining than anything on day time tv.

Concept: Gale having lost weight after absorbing the Orb due to it draining him/how his mental health went downhill when he isolated himself in his tower, and slowly regaining it thanks to Mystra and Elminster’s fix and his improving mental health as he travels with the party.

Thinking a lot about Karlach today and why her story doesn't hit the way I expect Larian intended it to, for me and a lot of other players.

They clearly wanted to tell a story about someone dealing with a terminal condition, which is a valuable and worthwhile story to tell! And Samantha Béart knocked it out of the park with her fantastic performance; her desperation to hold on to her life and her anger at how unfair her situation is cuts deep. The problem is that this story is then placed within the larger context of the setting for Dungeons and Dragons, and the dissonance that occurs between the story and the game setting is just… too high.

DnD is a game that a) encourages player agency and creativity and b) provides a whole hells of a lot of solutions to character death and/or the loss of body parts. And none of that is taken into account during Karlach’s endings. Furthermore, within the video game itself, death is trivialized into the ground to the point that if you have enough money, you can bring anyone back from any kind of demise… until the Big Bad is defeated, and then you’re out of luck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Death holds no weight, until suddenly it does. When players can see several alternate solutions that are common to the world of Faerûn but they aren’t allowed to pursue any of them, it makes her fate feel like an arbitrary restriction imposed by the writers instead of the bittersweet but inevitable conclusion to her story it was intended to be.

Foolknight content for you that kind of started off as a vague thought and turned into a full blown fic… I don’t know… bon appetite.

So okay, the feverish/drunk knight ask got me thinking… (totally not based off of how I act when I’m drunk but anyway) I’m imagining that the Jester can probably hold his liquor pretty well from so many nights spent partying whereas the knight who doesn’t drink very often probably gets drunk much faster. But the knight is not expecting this at all because he’s physically bigger & generally overconfident, so a few drinks in when he’s already feeling a bit floaty and the jester is just getting started he begins to sense his error, but of course he can’t back out now because that would mean admitting defeat. So he keeps drinking, ignoring the fact that the Jester is getting a weirdly fond, amused smile on his face every time the knight speaks.

Cut to half an hour later, the knight is actually hearing himself giggle at the Jester’s jokes, which is incredibly undignified and he knows that, but can’t seem to stop himself. He recognizes vaguely that his lack of inhibitions should be cause for alarm, but the Jester is just so uniquely, annoyingly charming and the knight is having all kings of unfamiliar urges that he isn’t even entirely sure he understands, but mostly he just wants to grab the Jester’s stupid beautiful face and… well, shut him up, by whatever means necessary.

“I’m pretty sure you’re staring,” the Jester says, raising an eyebrow, tongue darting across his bottom lip, a mesmerizingly fast dart of wine-stained red. “But I can’t really tell with all that hardware in the way.”

“I am staring,” the knight says, because it’s true, but the words earn him a soul-warming laugh from the Jester, the corners of his eyes crinkling up endearingly, complimenting the drunken flush on his cheeks.

“You do that a lot?” the Jester asks, leaning in slightly closer. The wine in the glass he’s holding sloshes dangerously to one side, and somewhere in the back of his head the knight knows it’s likely to spill and stain whatever it touches red, but there’s something oddly alluring about the utter lack of care the Jester seems to have about making a mess. “Stare at me under that visor?”

“Yes,” the knight answers, faintly wishing he knew how to lie convincingly.

“Good,” the Jester says, with a cocky smile, and the approval sends an almost uncomfortably strong bolt of sensation through the knight’s stomach. He clears his throat, leaning back an inch. The Jester only leans forwards, bright, mismatched eyes fixed on him intensely. “If you haven’t been staring, then I’ve been showing off for no one.”

(Queue another hour of the knight getting increasingly flustered while the jester realizes how honest and straightforward he is when he’s drunk)

The poor knight really doesn't stand a chance. How is he supposed to refuse when the jingly menace asked him to go drinking?? Especially knowing that if he refuses the jester will find someone else to drink with?? The thought definitely doesn't make him jealous.

What are your thoughts on the fact that a knockoff version of Steve's comics Civil War speech was given to Peggy in the movie?

I think it's cack-handed and wrong-headed.

A disgrace, a joke, a complete warping of its original intended meaning (in a way which doesn't make sense in the movie anyway), and an incredibly stupid choice... since it's inspired by a Mark Twain speech about the nature of a republic and what it means to be a good American, which makes it complete nonsense in the mouth of a posh English woman (who didn't stand up for the right thing, either).

It continues the misogynist writing trend of making Peggy merely a mouthpiece for powerful dead men, parroting their words back and passing them off as her own (iirc she does this five times in CATFA alone) and only then being treated as having said something worth acknowledging.

It also ignores the fact that Steve never listened to anything Peggy advised, anyway (everything she suggested was the exact diametric opposite of what he did -- and what he did was the right, brave thing... making her every suggestion by definition the wrong, cowardly thing). So including her opinion is (still) a waste of screentime.

And, having comic-Cap's words crammed into her mouth to desperately give her a legitimacy she never had claims to, nevertheless conforms to this trend of Steve ignoring her... because they warped the meaning. So Steve ends up (as usual!) not doing what she said to do, in the bollocksed-up speech.

And then he takes her niece out for a drink while still in his funeral clothes; so much for the grief-stricken student of her "wisdom."

Uhh... but at least her ineffectualness is consistent? 😬🤷‍♀️

I think every moment is eternal in its own right and we hold no authority to deny it that status. Even if it is a forever that will escape our memories, it’ll still exist as a forever in the history of time. In the memories of no-one but the Earth itself. In the records kept and made by no-one, where everything is stored for all time to come. No love is lost and no existence truly unacknowledged.
