Hello, it's been a while. I hope your doing well and taking care of yourself.

I'm still working on a work I started in February and I haven't written anything since may. I don't feel motivated but I still love the idea so much that I can't move on from it. Whenever I want to write, I feel like I don't know what is going to happen next even though I have an outline. I feel the outline, character and world building are not good enough, but I don't know where to start from since it's my first time using the plotting method since pansting didn't seem to work for me.

Stuck, Even with an Outline

The first thing to do is figure out why you've lost motivation to write this story, despite still loving the idea and having it plotted out.

Fear that the outline, character building, and world building aren't good enough sounds like it could be at least part of what's holding you back. The thing to remember with your first draft is it's really just a rough draft... your outline, character building, and world building don't have to be good enough because your first draft isn't your final draft. Seriously...

This is so, so important to bear in mind when you're writing, because if you expect your early drafts to be perfect, you're doing it wrong and you'll never make forward progress.

So, get past this feeling that what you've planned isn't good enough. It is. Embrace the fact that part of the writing process is exploring, learning, fleshing things out, and sometimes letting things go off track from what you'd planned.
