Disney movies aren't real. The Hallmark Channel isn't real. The Princess Bride isn't real. Romance novels aren't real. Adult videos aren't real. Hashtag-riddled Instagram posts of celebrity couples aren't real. 80s love ballads aren't real. And, as much as I hate to say it, The Addams Family isn't real.

Most Americans' (and Canadians') view of love is primarily influenced by one or more of these. Before one gets married, one needs to disavow all of these things as remotely realistic depictions of how couples are to love each other. Loving is an action, and if your concept of the act of loving is based primarily in self-fulfillment and emotion, your relationships are all doomed to fail.

I've been hanging out with my manager so much lately !! i usually only talk to her virtually once a week, i am so energized.. i love her 😩

#every time we work together it's basically just hanging out n being productive at the same time #and we click v well :3 i feel like we have gotten closer!! she gave me some pointers bc I'm doing my first annual review in a few days #which I'm Very New to bc this is my first time being a manager fr 👉🏾👈🏾 wanna make sure i do it right bc my associate is v v appreciated #always idk she fills me with energy and even just talking to her virtually i feel like i can take on the world so i am living rn fe #fr #☝🏾😌 and I'm going back tomorrow. sometimes things being chaotically busy is good #we r setting up a new office together on short notice and it's gone surprisingly well so far considering it's the #first time I've ever brought a new building up (⁠￣⁠ヘ⁠￣⁠;⁠) things r looking v good and we're almost done.#but in the meantime it's mostly just us in the office and it's nice to spend time together 😇 i can never get enough of her #😹 when she's at my office in my city she'll be like oh sorry I'll try to wrap up quick‚ so i can have my desk back n stuff #and I'll be like oh no ur good there's no rush 0: i always love ur company. I'm almost finished with this notebook with it's horrible paper, and I just finished the first page of my Big Project

#Oh yeah - it's all coming together #Hgggg I am so sick of this notebook! It's wack as fuck!#It has made editing a Chore for the past eight months >:0 Not fun or meditative At All #Even worse is that the paper feels good to draw on but the cleanup is just! Awful!#I've just been completely ignoring my non-lined homemade notebook because it feels bad to draw on lol #The rest of the doodles for this year - yes that's how far the queue is backlogged rn lol - are still on that paper #But at least I'm like ><this close to being done with it ugh #I've got two blank pages and then like three half-doodled on pages that I'm planning to just knock out #It looks so weird 'cause the pages are all out of order lol - the first page was in March and the last in November #But like the next page after the first is /also/ November lol #Like it's largely in chronological order but it jumps around quite a lot! It was an interesting experiment #I also think it's funny since the first page got some fandom stuff that didn't come back around until now but it Looks chronological lol #I think I'll do it again but with some modifications - if I run out of steam/interest/motivation then I can fill it in however I want #Keeping it on-theme is fun but I find myself pushing ideas when I don't actually have any :P That's no good #It's not Always bad - I like quite a few of my spacefiller ideas! But if anything that just proves that finishing things out to make room-#Well like I said it was fun lol #And! As stated! I finished the first page of my big behind-the-scenes project! >:3c #Man I haven't worked on a comic proper-like in uhhhhh #It's gotta be at least five years lol geez #It's been a weird rhythm to try to fall into lol I'm Way out of practice - but it's nice to see it come together!#Lotta steps to get it into the shape I want - hard to sustain - but slowly and surely I've got this one :)#It'll be good to finally have it Out haha

Since Jason's hero name was Puck iirc, maybe his new one should also be based off of classic literature. There are plenty of characters you could use to base a name on. Or if you want to be edgy, you could always call him "Ghost" or something similar lmao.

Don't really like Ghost just bc unless it's like ghost maker it really has the same problem as phoenix in that it kinda implies you have ghost powers which Jason does not he's not even dead anymore that being said I do like the idea of a classic lit character name just as a evolution of his og name being Puck

Feb 2023 🫶🏼

#1. at refugee camp number 3. we started end of November and had to close again on feb 14 :/ I feel so bad for the people who have to live #in the camps bc they keep having to move around and the conditions are really not good #2. on a random Friday . after lunch. my coworkers and I were sitting in our office (half the people working that day had already left so we #were left w 3) and we had 0 motivation left. there’s a bakery literally in front of our office so I was like ‘I feel like getting something #rn’ and my coworkers agreed so I got use these. was very good #3. went for sushi w the refugee camp team. had a very fun evening #4. took this pic at a forest me & my friend decided to go to. we actually drove to another city. had brunch and then took a walk in this #forest. then we found some bikes (which belong to this park / p #/ forest) so we cycled and even found somewhere nice to just sit down and listen to music. usually when I see friends we just go for food #and sometimes shopping or cinema so it was nice to do something a little different for once #5. this pic I actually took this morning! it was like 7:30 (the time I usually leave for work) I was walking to my car . looked up and was #actually stunned by the view. it’s not much but the trees looked like they were lit up?#6. my cousins daughter has crazy beautiful eyes. she’s so cute mashallah #monthly recap

I know I've got a few lgbta+ aviation interested mutuals on here and I just wanted to let y'all know the National Gay Pilot's Association, or NGPA for short, recently opened up their scholarship application window.

Their website is ngpa (.) org

They've got scholarships for mechanics, private pilot, advanced ratings, etc. I won one of their A&P scholarships earlier this year with a trip + hotel to their annual hangout in Palm Springs, CA.

And honestly now is probably the best time in aviation's history to get into the airlines as the airlines are desperate to fix that pilot shortage (they sorta caused- long story) so they're in a payscale war with each other trying to get pilot's and mechanics in their doors.

Over the last few days I've watched maybe a dozen regional airlines (historically known for dangerously overworking (before regulations were put in place) and underpaying their pilots below living wages- which yes, did cause crashes) so desperate to fix the messes they've caused by upping their pilot's pays by 2-5Xs to an even 90/hr starting pay and a base of flying 75 hours a month.

And A&Ps in the airlines I've researched start about $40/hr (but I hear that is also increasing soon 👀👀) & that goes up every year and with additional skills you build, ie: welder or composites. + most of these airlines are unionized.

#aviation #avgeek #pilot #planeposting #ngpa #and if youre thinking its a thing you want to do but think youre too old to change paths-#many airline pilots i know got into it in their late 20s and 30s #youre only too old if youre age 65 and up bc thats when the faa makes airline pilots retire #government mandated retirement means there will be next to no boomers and genx will be not long from now #and i know pilots that went from 0 flight hours to airline pilot in about a a year and a half to 2 years #airlines also got rid of the 4 degree requirement this year #which tbh was one of my biggest hurdles in this game bc id rather put that time and money #towards actually building flight experience at my local small airport than a for profit university or some bs #btw i know i have a ton of artist mutuals #just sayin fixing airplanes is legit advanced arts and crafts- ive done just as much painting drawing and sewing as i have turning bolts 👍#and theres a lot of nonprofit a&p schools opening up rn around the us
