Thirty five years ago I discovered the perfect hard rock album, Out of the Cellar. I listened to it so often that I drove my parents crazy and loved every minute of it. I played it so much that I literally wore out the cassette. . The following year they released an impossible follow-up. I say impossible because it was equal to the original. Invasion of Your Privacy together with Out of the Cellar were more than just a collection of rock songs, they were the anthems of my youth. I loved listening to every minute of them. . Still rocking the stage in 2019 RATT brought their tour to Detroit and I finally got the chance to see them live. It was a chance to relive my childhood. The set list was amazing. Opening with "Wanted Man" and ending with "Round and Round", they covered every single song that I could have hoped they would play. . The crowd was energized the entire evening. They were singing along to every song, screaming with anticipation for the next one to start, cheering, clapping and dancing the entire night away. This Prison, this house…

 My head, so loud , but it’s as quiet as a mouse in this house…

 Blood stains my hands… but I cannot recollect whom this blood belongs to…

 Some sort of insanity must have ensued and I cannot dismiss it as just a memory…

Lust is in a sick place inside my head, I must bury it! I must bury it!

 Silently I scream aloud, but only in my mind can I find any kind of resonance or noise?

 This pen cannot pay the bills, This I know, but ‘tis my dream, in this life to live off of my own ideas…

 Love is a vile and filthy rat feeding on the remains of hate. Hate is a synonym for logic and knowledge. I’ve seen it all, in the end it all adds up to nothing… in the end hell is true and heaven is a dream, an illusory dream that panders to you and me, but that doesn’t mean that it exists or is true.

 Paradise is blue, I mean nothing and neither do you… wish I may wish I might nothing can bring me back to the light… we are all bloody rats in a cellar, we are love.

 Is there a God? What is lying up above?

We are in a prison, they are building a prison… it’s shiny, but not all that glitters is gold.

 We can’t see the bars or feel them or touch them but they’re there, oh you think you’re free?

 Free as they LET YOU BE! Haha oh how you entertain me… a sad clown, an endless frown in the darkness of this town.

All we know is lying, all we know is DYING!
