She is untethered.

The choices she has made weigh heavy on her, alone and even less sure of her intentions than ever. To confront what she has done – to find every delicate way of avoiding the issue, every word that is not rebellion – is never comforting, an experience she tries to keep away as much as she can. Her communication slipped years ago, one more thing she did wrong, and yet…

She tried, she wants to say and never will. She survived. She made the best of a situation that was not supposed to be her favor, as she was taught to, as she suspects is in her blood, and the problem is how she did it. What she did. A life created, in multiple ways, that she cannot regret. Otherwise she has kept protocol, she wants to say, she has done everything she can to live in her duality and-

It hasn’t been enough. Perhaps nothing she does will ever really be enough.

She is untethered, and she ran out of good choices before her questionable one and that was years ago and why does her entire life come down to that hell-with-this moment sixteen years ago, and she knows what she probably should do and she won’t. A better version of herself, the woman she tries to be sometimes when she can remind herself that she is not the only person impacted by her impulsive nature, would decide this is the one night of the month that she actually should sleep at the other end of the hallway, in that space that is kept for formalities and the occasional extended fight. More boundaries she has happily ignored but she should honor them tonight, should keep her internal conflicts her own, should not be a burden on her partner, should-

She should’ve done a lot of things, really. She’s in no mood to care.

Instead a more winding route through this complex that in a few weeks will no longer be home, eyes almost closed because she knows it all so well. Is it wrong to feel petty loss about imminent changes? Even if her doubts are for nothing, even if new opportunity really does work out and it isn’t the trap she is already trying to undo, there will still be an adjustment period. And to think that she’d once been naïve enough to think this was the end of it, too young in an unfamiliar space and wandering through hallways like a ghost because she could and no one knew what to do with her then. There had been too much innocence left in her then, scared of the unknown but determined to keep that to herself and sometimes she wonders if anyone believed her attempts.

A snake, they’d called her, and her partner too sheltered or lust-struck to see her as she was. Years before that blew over. Even now she walks on eggshells to keep her reputation where she has placed it.

No wonder she’d clung like she did. No wonder she repeats that behavior now.

They will not speak of how her night has gone, she knows as she drifts towards private spaces. There is enough trust there, clear enough understanding between them that her dealings with her past will be kept as under control as she can and those rare encounters are outside the range of the very human man she loves. Things that make clear the limits of his capability, things that cause doubt – not against her, never against her, almost twenty years and she does not know how she has been this lucky but she has never felt that she was the issue, but there are still cosmic forces she represents that no outsider could ever understand let alone stop and-

This is what a lover is for, she tells herself, to give outlet for the conflicted parts of one’s heart. How many nights have played out in the other direction, how many times she has been a comfort, and-

At least she always knew in advance. At least she has always given herself time to prepare, to think about how to use her body well. And time itself has helped them, familiarity and trust and all the things that were never supposed to be real but she’d known from the moment she saw him that some people deserve better than what she could do to them if she wanted and every day she runs those odds and every day she finds new reasons to hold back and-

They will not speak of what happened, she reminds herself as she lets herself in. She is allowed her secrets. It will be enough that she is compromised enough for it to show.

Internal masks down, visible distress, she’s almost never like this, she needs so many things right now and most days she doesn’t need anything at all and-

They know each other too well, and she knows the specific expression that means what are you not telling me right now that I’d rather not know, and she wants to take that away, and her wanting has been their damnation, she had been sent to manipulate not to ruin a bloodline as she is accused of doing and-

Still not quite touching, still these small unnecessary formalities. She is uncertain as ever, unsure bringing anyone else into her conflict is a good idea but oh she’s out of other options, she is always out of other options, she is-

And that is enough justification, she decides as distance is crossed and she takes. This is the strongest tether she has, the stability of this man who has given her so much too much and doesn’t even see the power of it. So many things she’d say if she were as brave and reckless as she worries she could be, but instead other things to do with her mouth, other ways to seek comfort. Connection until she is breathless, warmth she is still amazed is hers sometimes, this is love and she will never say that out loud and she will never dare to call it anything less, this is-

“Get me out of this dress,” she breathes against his skin. Make her forget, she wants to say. Remove every sign she is anything more than this.

Training be damned, intimacies do not solve everything. She has been cautious with her body over the years, aware of how she could make her partner weak and careful not to go too far. She has not needed that range in some time. And this is not manipulation, she reminds herself as she closes her eyes and feels a certain relief as that shroud of a ritual dress is removed from her skin, this is her own weakness manifested and-

She feels tension in him, the desire to say something but unsure what would comfort her. Don’t. Words could not take this. The way their bodies move together will not take it, will be at best a reminder that she has made her own choices and maybe they were the wrong ones but too late now and she is here, she is loved in a way that no human language could touch, she is infinite, she is safe, she is-

Ritual is ritual, routine is routine, she knows his body as her own and finds comfort in it. Even with eyes closed she can trace the few scars acquired during her time, and she remembers how she felt the first time she was this close, how lucky she was to at least have an assignment who was nice to look at, and how lucky she has been to see how time has changed him and still she wants, still they both want, still-

There is safety in this, in how she is laid out, how unusually passive she is and the understanding that this is what she needs. More restrained than usual, than they both like, but she carries too much weight in her heart and she still makes her interest clear in touches and kisses. She needs to be undone, and she trusts him, oh she trusts him too much sometimes and she-

This is enough, she is enough, they are enough.

She has found life like this, made herself something more human than she ever should’ve been and how easily she turns her mind off as she is covered is as much proof of that as she will ever find. No need to defend herself with familiar weight surrounding her, no need to fear what her partner might do. She is safe, she is able to trust this, trust them, trust-

How easy it is to become part of something, she thinks, and how much she wants. She feels the weight of the one boundary that will not be crossed, and even that would be gone if she asked and that is why she never will. 5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Shipping isn't the main way I partake in Discworld tbh, but here goes - Pollymal (duh), Susan/Lobsang (what could've been... even just as a friendship!), Angua/Sally (yeah), SamSybil (pure fluff tbh), maybe Lofty/Tonker or Agnes/Andre (the pianist from Maskerade).

Character I find most attractive: Sally von Humpeding, baby! Snarky butch vampire? I never stood a chance. I just wish we got to spend more time with her.

Character I would marry: NGL being married to most Discworld characters would stress me out. I think Susan Sto Helit and I could have a good marriage because we're both educators and she tries so hard to have a normal life lmao.

A random thought: I have mixed feelings about the new audiobooks. Some of them are good but the audio balancing is weirdly off between the narration and footnotes. I think they should have just got Nigel Planar to do all the books he hadn't done and same with Stephen Briggs so that all the fans would be happy /j

An unpopular opinion: Not as unpopular on Tumblr but Pterry isn't above criticism! He's clearly one of my fave authors and I think he did a lot of good writing but he obviously had faults and it does him a disservice to pretend he was some kind of saint.

My canon OTP: This one is hard bc there aren't actually a ton of canon ships in Discworld, but my fave is SamSybil. Mostly I'm just a ride or die for Sybil and Sam makes her happy so I will always ship it. Lofty/Tonker is also up there.

Non-canon OTP: PollyMal even though like its bascially canon imo. But y'all already knew this about me

Most badass character: Truly how can you answer this for Discworld. I'm gonna go with Tiffany Aching for beating the Queen of the Fairies at 9 entire years old! (I also read this when I was about her age so I have a soft spot for her.)

Pairing I am not a fan of: I am an autistic aroace Vetinari truther and so I simply cannot get behind V/V. I'm glad y'all are having fun with that though

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I wanted more Agnes. I think she was going to be the up and coming witch before Tiffany came on the scene and I LOVE Tiff but I still wish Agnes could have had a more concrete arc.

Favourite friendship: This should've been the ship question, I feel like friendships are where this series shines. Angua&Cheery is really sweet, Granny&Nanny is so funny and you can tell they care so much about each other.

Favorite Character: Ziti my beloved. She has taken over my heart like mold. Oh my dearest. Hector is a very close second (he lost his throne to her, alas). Curls (Fernanda Pizazzo) gets third place hahehe.

MOONSTONE ALWAYS !!!

I wish we'd gotten more Brotherhood, but I also wish we'd gotten a better Zhan Tiri and a better Demanitus. They have so much lore potential that just flopped so bad :( !!!

We could've had Zhan Tiri tell Cassandra of her POV of her past with Demanitus in order to make Cass sympathize with her (developing her character and the plot in one swoop), and then we could've had a cool moment of the main gang reading Manny's journal in the finale (while looking for the Portal blueprints) and letting us see a flashback of his view of everything that happened until the fateful "I had to send my ex-bestie to acid hell" day and therefore get his own explanation on why he did it.

We could still have a vague explanation of their past, since both tales were told by opposite kings of the metaphorical board, but at least we wouldn't have the contradicting mess we got. Smh.

I found the fandom in 2018—2019. I remember I got to it maybe a couple months after season 1 ended and I got to watch season 2 as it came out !!

My song choices vary a lot depending on my mood. At the moment, my favorite song is not even a song but rather an instrumental/background music, "Onwards to the Dark Kingdom" (Great Tree soundtrack :] ) and I don't have a worst song to name because I don't care enough about the songs I don't immediately love to actually dislike them. So, I'm choosing "Next Stop Anywhere", since it's my least liked song among my liked songs !!

A big opinion I have is that Hector should've, if not taken the Moonstone himself, at the very least become an actual threat at some point. He would've been very useful in s2 since s2 lacks any real threat or antagonist (except the debut episode (Stalyan and Baron), the mid-finale (Hector and the GT), and the actual finale (Edmund).

Also Ziti could've been a little less Yzma'd. just saying 🦀

Gotta spoiler that soon y'all will see all their outfits and it will be visible how their style may vary :) Antje is into classy style: silk blouses, fit pants or breeches, sharp toe shoes and blazers. Hanna's style is more vintage: sweaters, collared shirts, plaid clothes, frilled blouses, flared pants and elegant shoes (especially mary jane platorms or similar to them) They could've share clothes, but their sizes are quite different. Antje is an adult woman and Hanna is a younger one, her shapes not so showy :D She is a little bit "plain". Once Hanna shared her tie with Antje since she's not really wear it, but it should've complete her look :)

15. How do their past relationships (or lack thereof) affect their current relationship?

Okay, this one is really catchy because i don't want to spoiler a lot of details from story. Antje was married before she met Hanna and these relationships has made her hesitant about a new ones. Hanna wasn't in a relationships before and her flirting skills are...questioning :D But she didn't really bother. Antje one way or another have fell in love for her :)

When I started shipping them: i remember reading the book the first time and thinking ‘wow they are just like my ocs. theyre dating behind the scenes haha’ and then forgetting about them. And I get back into the book and find a few other people who are Cath n Korn fans, I get really into Kathcorn Kontent, I draw them more and now they're my favorites <3 My thoughts: they’ve got one of my favorite themes, where the relationship isn’t beneficial to their main goals at all really. They both want to rise the ranks and being In Love with your right hand man isn’t really gonna help with that. Korn’s like one of those edgy guys who says he doesn’t want to get attached to people because it’s Just a Distraction from the Real Goal. And Cathcart’s one of those annoying guys who says he doesn’t want to get attached to people because it’s Just a Distraction from the Real Goal. And then both of them would try to justify it in their own silly ways and eventually have come to terms with it. And its also funny cuz they’re both just The Worst.  What makes me happy about them: they are both so lame and evil and sucks that everything they do will be entertaining to me  What makes me sad about them: I dont think they can even exist in a way that isn’t destructive to each other and everyone else around them. How I feel about this character: genderswap of cath that i got really attached to for no reason. Cathcart is interesting as a hypothetical female character since he’s trying to be this stereotypical toughguy all the time but he’s also so dumb and evil and awful. girlcart, i wuv her. she’s so important. She’s just woman cathcart but there’s the added interest of how she ended up as a squadron commander as a woman in the 40s, her relation with masculinity/femininity, whether she becomes more sympathetic when her problems are not all self imposed.. and we need more loser evil women everywhere Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: could it ever be anyone but girlkorn My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: to be honest she wouldnt have many friends but i think her interactions with milo would be funny. i like what we made up about Girl Milo being very ‘this is my 10 step beauty routine you should do it too. buy M&M skincare’ and cathcart being like ‘eww... makeup, gross” but also wanting to impress milo because milo is Successful My unpopular opinion about this character: She deserves everything ever shes so special. girlcart hiii. she sucks and she’s lame One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: there’s no canon bc we just make it all up. but i think her established storyline is growing up and not really belonging anywhere that a Lady(TM) would typically in the 20s-30s, always being second best in the rich east coast elite world and being desperate for some recognition. Saph (OC)

How I feel about this character: Spy character for my main story. She's been around for longer than any character i’ve ever liked ever. I made her in middle school and she was a dragon named Sapphire (hence the Saph) and she’s stayed with me through countless story changes. I dont think because of anythign particularly special about the character but she was my first OC and typical toughgirl undefeatable no-weaknesses character made by a 12-year-old. and i think she retains that in sprit but in practice she’s a total mess. I <3 U saph Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Riya, another oc that i made to be saph’s sidekick also in middle school who i recently decided should #love her. I can’t really see Saph in any romantic situations so they’re either in an awkward purely physical relationship that’s really tragic for Riya or its an equally fail unrequited love situation. Riya’s not very outgoing so she’s kind of stuck with Saph and Saph doesn’t tend to get attached to anyone My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Riya again if you count the weird sexual-platonic thing they’d have going on. but she’s also got her spy team of basically a bunch of frat boys and they like to be Dudes together. I don’t like them tho and a lot of them are basically expendable in the story. rip My unpopular opinion about this character: she could fight 1000 demons and 1000 skeletons & not get scared One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: since her spy team is out trying to kill a politician (other side of the story)  i think it would be funny to write the alternate ending where they team up cartoon-style against a Greater Evil. i think the personalities would mesh well (awfully). I think a lot of her problems couldve been avoided too if the spy team had ditched their stupid orders and just gone on the run (which she and riya do in the end anyways) Favorite friendship for this character: i feel like she’s the sort to always Know A Guy wherever they go. but i dont really have anyone specific yet aside from the main characters and their counterparts. least favorite character: well obviously earl, but i'm supposed to hate him, so he's doing his job. if we're talking characters that i'm supposed to like but don't then ogie. fuck ogie.

brOTP: jenna, becky, and dawn

OTP: jenna/happiness and financial stability (but also lowkey jenna/becky)

OT3: idk there aren't that many characters to choose from. i guess jenna/becky/dawn would be funny. not sure that i actually want to see that though.

NOTP: obviously jenna/earl, but again, that's because i'm meant to read that relationship as abusive. dawn/ogie, on the other hand, is a relationship that i'm supposed to like but comes across really creepy

favorite storyline: so in the original film, there's no mention of jenna's dad at all, let alone any implication that he was abusive to her mother. i think the addition of this backstory really deepens jenna's character and further complicates her already complicated relationship with motherhood. it also turns her story into one about breaking the cycle of abuse, which i really appreciate.

least favorite storyline: have i mentioned that i hate ogie? i hated him in the movie too, but at least there there is some ambiguity about whether or not we're supposed to be rooting for him and dawn to be together. like dawn even says that she's only marrying him because she doesn't think anyone else wants her. and jenna is, at least initially, critical of the relationship. the wedding is still kind of presented uncritically, but it's something. in the show, they try to fix the creepiness by giving dawn and ogie things in common, but it only ends up reinforcing the idea that stalking is totally okay as long as you both like history or whatever. in trying to fix the source material they made it worse by further romanticizing ogie's behavior. they should have either completely rewritten that storyline from the ground up, and removed the creepy possessive stalking altogether, or just acknowledged that the relationship was weird and bad and weaved it into the themes of abuse and possessiveness that were already present in the text. i heard someone suggest that earl should've sang a dark reprise of "never ever getting rid of me" in act 2 and i think that would've actually been a brilliant way to illustrate how creepy and terrible that mindset is.

what I wish had happened but didn’t: over the course of like five years they never once cast a woman to play pomatter. absolutely criminal. give me an awkward lesbian doctor, preferably played by sara bareilles.

what happened that I wish hadn’t: i really dislike katherine mcphee's jenna. she is unbelievable generic (my top three jennas btw are jessie mueller, shoshana bean, and nicolette robinson)

Favourite character: EDA EDA I LOVE EDA SO MUCH. Okay in all fairness I also adore Lilith, Alador, Camilla, and Raine, but Eda was my favourite since episode one. I adore her laid-back wine aunt-esque personality and how she genuinely has so much love and care in her heart. I love how her curse is treated and works really well as a disability metaphor. I found myself relating to her a lot with her struggles with being put into boxes and a want to just run free regardless of what others want from her. She's such a fun and great character. I adore her.

My thoughts: I think they could deeply understand each other, their losses and pains. They could help each other, heck Xiao comes every single time you call him to the field and Aether whenever we run into Xiao wants to talk with him a little longer. They are practically one of the more Canon non-canon ships, if that makes sense

What makes me happy about them: The mental image of Xiao catching Aether in the fight at the harbor, how this is the first person he has touched in hundreds of years, how he's been so cautious of his karma and he's worried if he has infected Aether with it, only for the relief that Aether… isn't really human, and that he wants to be in Xiao's arms again and have Xiao in his

What makes me sad about them: just Xiao. How he isolates himself from everyone, that actually getting them together would first be preceded with 100 levels of self hate/insecurity from Xiao in his mind. He doesn't think he's deserving of love :(

Who i would be comfortable with them ending up together if not each other: Xiao with Venti and/or therapy bc we both know Venti doesn't know therapy, he can't be Xiao's "therapist" like Aether could. Aether is the bicycle of genshin, he can be with almost anyone, but Ayaka and Venti are strong contenders for me

My happily ever after for them: End of genshin impact, Celestia is defeated, twins are reunited, Khaneriah is restored, the twins decide to stay for a while, Xiao is released from his contract, and he heals. They get closer, they help each other, they change, out grow each other for the better, Xiao is more integrated into society, and the twins continue their journey across the stars. In my mind, they are simply two people who were lucky enough to cross paths and help each other for as long as they could.

How i feel about him: Tumblr sexy man-esque. He's a little… overplayed by the fandom if that makes sense, kinda like how Oikawa was. Everyone loves him and hates him and they overlysexualize/feminized him. Who he actually is out of fandom is really cool and I understand why he is a fan favorite. I'm excited to see him more in canon

Any/all I ship with him romantically: Zhongli, Traveller!Lumine, AbyssPrince!Aether (these are very specific and the twins can't be changed), and likely a future fauti member bc there is a potential dynamic I could see (but not signora or scaramouche)

My favorite non-romantic relationship with this character: Kaeya and Signora- they have a more bitchy friendship thing, and scaramouche hates his guts, I love that for him aghdjd

My unpopular opinion (NSFW warning): I really hate zhongli/childe being in an ABO au, they are, by definition, switches where childe is the more dominant by the fact that, say it with me, "water erodes stone"

One thing I wish for in canon: I hope we see him before we go to Snezhnaya, I feel like Snezhnaya is going to be the last land we explore besides maybe Khaneriah and I don't want to wait over 3 years to see him again

I guess the Traveller in canon bc I don't know if Childe and Zhongli meet up after Childe learns the truth or if they have broken apart. I loved that they seem to have lunch together, it showed a closeness.
