National Treasure: Edge of History is such a great show, I'm really sad it hasn't been renewed for a second series. It's fun, funny, dramatic, tense, clever - It's everything you could want in a show.
And the characters - All of Them are so fascinating and fun and layered, as well as well-acted. The dynamics, whether romantic, platonic or antagonistic are all a joy to watch.
Such a shame.

Jess and her boyfriends are fine I guess…but the best ship on National Treasure Edge of History (that’s a mouthful) is Oren and Tasha I don’t make the rules I simply enforce them.
When he pulled out that dark chocolate and peanut butter that he kept for her in his kitchen even though he hates it and they’d broken up?! I’m sorry I know the big romantic moment of the show was supposed to be the Ethan’s dance or Liam’s song but like was it actually?

National Treasure: Edge of History five man band and the main characters from the movies.
Tasha and Oren are Riley Poole split apart, with Tasha as the tech genius and Oren as the ditz. While I love Tasha and Oren, they are characters I have seen many times before, whereas the reason Riley is so iconic is because he is both the tech genius and the ditz. Tasha and Oren being exes who are probably going to get back together may be an homage to Patrick and Emily.
Jess and Liam are like a mix and match of Ben and Abigail. Jess and Abigail are both immigrants who love and embrace American history. Ben and Liam are dealing with the legacy of being part of treasure hunting families. Ben and Jess are puzzle solving geniuses and Abigail and Liam are the kind of smart person that the audience either is or knows.
I guess Ethan is Patrick because he is less enthused about the treasure than everyone else. It seems his purpose is mostly for the sake of a love triangle (like, if this show were a movie I’m pretty sure Ethan wouldn’t exist and Jess’s mom would still be alive to play the Patrick role). Which is a bummer, not just because I’m not generally a fan of love triangles, but also because I really liked his (now ex) girlfriend Meena. She was sweet and since she was a nurse she could have become the Claire Temple of treasure hunters.

National Treasure Edge of History
I’ve been watching National Treasure EoH and it’s been a really fun show and good to watch something week to week and form theories about the next episode. So obviously Jess’s dad isn’t really dead and he’s the guy that was in the Mexican prison at the end of episode one and has been following Jess and the gang since they went to Graceland.
They’re planting seeds that Liam might be secretly working for Billie and her organisation with the leaked audio recording of Elvis being sent to her and the book that was sent to Liam at his granda’s house with the name Cras Est Nostrum on the cover but I think it’s a red herring.
I actually think Ethan is informing Billie or one of her agents about the treasure hunt but with good intentions, he thinks he’s protecting Jess from getting caught breaking the law on the treasure hunt and being deported. He’s been very secretive about his own personal life but he was very quick to tell Liam that Jess was undocumented even though that’s her personal business to tell and while that could be seen as a jealousy thing since he obviously fancies Jess and sees the chemistry between her and Liam I think it was to try and get her off the treasure hunt so only Liam was involved.
I didn’t really like Oren at the start but he’s grown on me and I love Tasha as the tech expert and best friend to Jess she’s amazing.

After watching the first episode of National Treasure Edge of History (still a mouthful btw) I said “so Jess is the Nick Cage, Tasha is her guy in the chair, Ethan is the pragmatic ‘should we actually be doing this?’ one, and Liam is the rich and informed one. But what is point of Oren why is he here?!”
After watching the subsequent 8 episodes I can definitively say that the entire point of Oren is to be obsessed and devotedly in love with Tasha and that’s why he’s actually the most important one.
There is not a thought in that head other than just Tasha on loop and I love him for it.
