Ever wonder why you hear ancient stories about wild raging tyranitar burning villages to the ground, but in trainer battles on tv, a well trained lycanroc can get hit by a hyper beam from one and still be standing? Type advantage aside, thats thanks to power seals!

A standard diagram of a heal ball here. The blue rim, in different colors but in all pokeballs, is where your power seal is. PSA: If you ever notice a crack in that, GO TO YOUR NEAREST POKEMON CENTER IMMEDIATELY! Trade machines can exchange the same pokemon to another empty pokeball, and if you tell a nurse joy its because the seal is broken they’ll transfer your pokemon to a new pokeball for free

But anyway, power seals do exactly what it sounds like: they limit the power of a pokemon’s moves, so that in battles you can only ever knock out your opponents pokemon, and that a trainer’s togedemaru shocking you on accident wont literally kill you. Some people forget because they grow up around pokemon owned by trainers, but wild pokemon are way stronger than we give them credit for. Seriously, we don’t tell kids to avoid the tall grass for nothing. A power seal on your pokeball breaking means your pokemon is suddenly at its full power and very likely to actually hurt other pokemon in battles, so you need to get the pokeball replaced immediately

And if it worries you, pretty much all wild pokemon are aware that being caught means their power being limited, even if they don’t know exactly how. Thats why even the sweetest wild garchomp you have a bond to likely won’t just agree to be caught, lots of pokemon want a battle before you can catch them because they want you to prove you’re stronger than the power they’d be giving up

this guy. while my little pocket dimension within mango's heartbreak hotel AU is his main 'verse, almost every other time i write diesel, i'm just writing HHAU diese in yet another AU. you can actually thank slater for this one!! they love him so much and are so inspiring for me, and if i could i'd churn out fics based on our conversations and their OCs and headcanons like a machine. slater i am holding ur hand.

in terms of the patented* Diesel Writing Process, his muse is headstrong, stubbourn, and self-centered, and most of the work i do when writing involves convincing him to share the spotlight. my offshoot of mango's universe would be all flowery prose, cerebral horror, and... diesel, suffering largely alone on centre stage, if i couldn't coerce this big lug to cooperate. some aspects of that are still preserved, but i've been able to avoid writing all my chapters in this world as solitary experiences; silent hill one and two deeply impacted me as a tiny xentex, and i always want to write that slow, surreal, murky trudge through dreams and summoned memories laid atop the burnt-out husk of reality that the SH2 hotel section, especially, captures.

diesel loves being the star of his own show, but so does the heartbreak kid - shawn's a begrudgingly necessary fulcrum for diesel, once he decides he has to be. my diesel muse genuinely suffers from OCD, and projecting his compulsions onto other people is an unhealthy coping mechanism of his. shawn likes the attention and benefits enough to encourage and enable this in his own ways, until he's able to take over performing compulsive rituals for diesel, becoming a mandated aspect of the rituals themselves. i wrote an example of this in diesel's testosterone injection, and shawn's absence will leave an impact on diesel's compulsive thoughts and behaviours in the ongoing narrative. shawn likes when people are dependent on him (to his preferred degree, not for anything... substantial. he just likes feeling special.) sure, but the heartbreak kid and, inherently, the hotel, need that dependency.

diesel also collects matchbooks from hotels, motels, rest stops, tourism welcome areas, reservation smoke shops and other native-operated establishments, and casinos, which he started as vinnie vegas. dallas collects poker chips, and kim collects ashtrays, cigarette boxes, and dice. studd much more passively collects coasters and glass bottles (especially tiny ones) but competes with kim for dice. and scotty flamingo, the most notable member of the diamond mine (duh /j)... he likes to swipe cosmetics, towels, notepads - anything free! and sometimes even things that aren't free. he doesn't collect but outright hoards various forms of tickets, too, but that predates the stable. i was going to include a huge section on these habits, quirks, and compulsions, but... in the end, most of that was cut. it detracted from the atmosphere too much, and it started to spoil plans i have, which you can see the beginning hints of in that heartbreak hotel branded ashtray in my most recent chapter contribution.

diesel's muse solidified for me very quickly and easily, and i barely even need to keep notes on him. big wolf keeps track of himself and comes to me with whatever i need when i need it, or chases me down and demands i devolve into a crazed, sweating, dizzied madman, writing twelve thousand+ words in a single sitting with no breaks. always something with this guy. in a diesel/undertaker fic that will eventually see the light of day, i write in his beloved ford bronco. it has a wolf howling sticker on the trunk, an Idle No More bumper sticker, genuine leather upholstery, leather conditioner and a rolodex (with hundreds of names, numbers, and addresses of people who died of AIDS and their loved ones, roadside memorials for 2SLGBTQIA+ people and missing and murdered indigenous women, and various gay clubs, bars, bathhouses, safehouses, shops, farms, and other gay establishments - including many that are defunct even by diesel's modern time) in the glove box, endless atlases for different states and provinces he swaps out as needed (most of these go with him to his truck cabs as needed), and a dedicated, custom case for depeche mode CDs and cassettes. i hope that gives a better overview of the guy he is than i could ever provide in mere words alone /j

My mom is scared of ostriches and so sometime me and my dad will go to a drive in feeding zoo with the animals and shit and he will distract her by feeding the lamas as I slowly feed the bad bird boys till she turns around and they are staring at her through the window and she screams<3 also we literally also had a pack of l lamas surround our car cuz I called one a stinky little man and i wouldn't feed him cuz he was fat and he gave me a look and we where stuck for Like 28 minutes till I threw a huge hand full out the car and they went to go eat it we called the la-mafia and I think about the dirty look they game me all the time. also one time we where on a buss one and I was really young and my mom was Like ok hun now give them the food and then she turned around and wondered who I had given the food to cuz it was half empty and she didn't see me feeding the animals and IT WAS ME I HAD EATEN LIKE 60 PERCENT OF THE ANIMAL FOOD why you may ask because I COULD and because I thought it was a snack FOR ME not for the cows and my mother didn't know till later when she got more and I told her I was way to full for anymore and she didn't have to give me anymore<3

yes i am aware that the post i reblogged from them was an AI image but no i do not support AI generated images (what they are doing to real artist out there trying to make a living, its ruining the economy and saturating the market). my blog is mostly full of pretty girls and the posts by them that are AI generated i found to be astonishingly beautiful. the face, the beautifully shaded skin, the hair, even if made by an AI it's still very pretty and i choose to have it plastered on my blog.

i view supporting ai image generators as actually putting money towards the act, and in no way am i doing that. i can see how it might come off as supporting since i am putting it out on my platform but tumblr is not a social media. tumblr is a haven for fucking racoons, let bfr

something that i really find fascinating about succession is its completely linear storytelling. a lot of shows rn are obsessed with flashbacks and large time skips, and i think especially since so much of succession relies on the past, itd be very easy to do that. but it adds a lot bc u get to see how the characters see their own past instead of what "objectively" happened, which tells us a lot more about the characters than straight up telling us Why They Are That Way. like. we dont know whos right between caroline and shiv. we dont know if Either of them have an objective memory. maybe she wasnt 10 or 13, she couldve been 9 or 11 and neither of them got it right. but from that conversation between them, caroline treated her kids terribly because, to her, they had "betrayed" her for logan (except for roman, whose incessant loyalty kept him by her side). and we know that shiv feels betrayed by her mother in turn, like she Had to rely on and replicate her father bc he was the only one who had any sympathy for her. which makes him shooting her in the back even worse.
