The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) + sequels. This is one of Peter Cushing’s best roles; I love his interpretation of Frankenstein. The thin veneer of gentlemanhood hiding a burning obsession, bloodied suits and half-second smiles. The perfect mad scientist movie to me

As a satirical homage to classic sci-fi/horror films from the 1930s-70s, The Rocky Horror Picture Show features props that were originally used in Hammer Film Productions’ horror films. The tank and the (sometimes) mummified dummy within it first characterized Frankenstein’s Creature in the 1957 film The Curse of Frankenstein, with the prop combo returning for its sequel Revenge of Frankenstein the following year. The tank was painted red when it appeared – along with the dummy for the 1975 The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The dummy (meant to be Rocky) is brought to life by Frank-N-Furter. Once Rocky is alive and singing, the tank remains in the scene without the dummy.
