Holy crud It took me forever to put the relationships and characters down ;-;

Alrighty, this is the...3rd oneshot book I've made.

But i never had a oneshot book so big though.

(THAT DIRTY JOKE WAS NOT INTENDED)

Okay, I'll explain a few rules here for requesting.

1. Do not request smut or sex between blood-related characters, PLEASE. NO. INCEST.

2. Be specific when requesting, don't just type character x reader, give me more detail on what you want me to write, this rule applies to oneshots, headcanons, scenarios and AU's.

3. This should be expected, but I'm putting this down here anyway. I do not write sex scenes with minors In them. Nor do I write minors with a character who is 18+, smut or not.

4. I can also write Polyandry / Polygyny, LGBT+ etc.

5. If you request sexual trauma or rape, I will NOT write It explicitly. Same with gore.

6. I also write character x character and oc x character, If you want me to write a character with your oc you'll have to give me information about their looks, backstory, personality, etc.

7. The maximum of characters I write for headcanons are five, don't request more than that, please.

8. I don't have a grasp on writing foursomes, sorry peeps.

Chapter Text

*Clack*

Shoes hit against the floor as the owner of them walked through the hallway, eventually stopped walking and went up to one of the rooms, opening the door upon hearing laughter.

"Auntie?"

A woman sitting In a chair next to a hospital bed walked up to the girl and hugged her.

"Crystal! Great timing, dear." The woman exclaimed, pulling away from the raven haired girl, pointing over to the hospital bed, "This Is Rei, she's one of the patients here, can you keep her company for a little bit while I take care of something else."

Crystal nodded, her lips forming Into a smile, "Sure." She said, to which her aunt gave her a thumbs up and left the room.

The white haired woman smiled softly, patting the chair Crystal's aunt was sitting In earlier, "Would you like to sit with me, dear?"

"A- Ah! Sure!" The girl hesitantly walked over and sat In the chair by the hospital bed.

She's pretty...

"Do you come to the hospital often?"

Crystal jumped slightly, "Ah...I do sometimes so I can visit my aunt..."

"Well, when you come by..Can you visit me? I would appreciate the company."

Crystal looked up, smiling once more, "Of course!"

Crystal's feet moved back and forth as she wasn't really paying attention In class and looking at the heterochromiac boy who's seat was In front of hers, he turned his head to meet her eyes, aware of her staring and raising a brow. Crystal quickly turned her head, her face was flushed red as she covered It.

He's so quiet...

Steps were heard going down the hallway,

"Don't talk to her, It'll make everything worse than what It Is."

Screw that.

Shouto opened the door, about to say something but widened his eyes when he saw a familiar face.

Crystal turned her head to the door upon hearing It open and her eyes widened also.

After a while of Shouto talking with his mother, reuniting with her and Rei explaining the situation of Crystal visiting her both of the teenagers eventually went together to go visit Rei who would often wink and say something along the lines of, 'You two have been getting close lately' or 'I'm so glad you both are friends'.

And that one day came.

Crystal handed the flowers In the vase to Rei, "Here you go, I hope you like them!"

Rei looked at the flowers and smiled, "Thank you, sweetie. How did you know I like these?"

"It was actually Shouto who told me..." Crystal rubbed her neck, which was as flushed as her face.

"Hm, that's sweet of him...Shame that he doesn't have a girlfriend yet." Rei sent Crystal a wink and the raven haired girl stumbled, her dark brown eyes widening slightly.

"H...How...Did you..."

"Mothers just know, get 'em tiger!" Rei winked again and Crystal came out of the hospital room, more redder than usual.

Shouto raised a brow, "Are you alright?"

"I- I'm fine! I'll just head back home now!"

"I can walk you back If you want?"

"S...Sure!" She squeaked, earning another eyebrow raise from Shouto, but the male said nothing as they headed out the hospital.

Crystal looked up at the sky, eyes widening once more.

"What's wrong?"

"I...I don't have an umbrella..." She admitted, looking at the dark sky as It rained cats and dogs.

"There's a extra one at my place, we can go there and I can get It for you?"

Crystal nodded, "Okay."

The two teenagers headed to the house, turning around and noticing Crystal was soaked from the rain, her uniform somewhat see-through and Shouto quickly turned his head, his face flushing slightly.

"I...I should get you some new clothes, you'll get a cold..."

Crystal looked down, noticing her clothing being wet she flustered, nodding, Shouto went to his room, grabbing a new shirt, It was a little big but he hoped that It would fit her, he came out. Passing the shirt to Crystal. "You can change In the bathroom." He said, the raven haired girl nodded, heading to the bathroom as Shouto searched for that extra umbrella, after finding It he headed to the bathroom, completely forgetting to knock and he opened the door.

"Hey, I found the umbrella and I'll place It nea-" He froze, pausing with his words as his face flushed slightly and Crystal jumped, putting her hands over her chest to hide the bra that she was wearing.

"Sh- Shouto?!" She screeched, stumbling a little as she tried to regain her balance from surprise, she was expecting the male to leave but Instead he walked Into the bathroom, standing In front of her.

"I like you."

Huh...?!

The girl wasn't sure If she should laugh or say that she liked him as well, he just said It with such a straight face which turned Into a pinkish hue after she stayed silent for so long.

Is this even a good time to say that...?

Crystal shook the thoughts out of her head, holding the shirt that he gave her earlier over her chest, she blushed and turned her head away. "I like you as well...But..."

"Hm?"

"Shouldn't we talk about this when I'm...Decent...?"

As If a delayed reaction Shouto's face turned as red as the left side of him, to which Crystal let out a soft chuckle.

"I..I'm sorry."

"It's fine Shouto." She smiled softly as the male headed out of the bathroom.

This idea popped in my head a while back but wasn't sure when I should write it out. So thank you for requesting this! This is very sweet of you ★~(◠ω◕✿)

Tattoo Artist!Ookurikara (AU)

♡ Ookurikara always had a fascination with tattoos from the moment he saw someone having one on their body. Beautiful art to shine proudly on your skin.

♡ Ookurikara had always been a shy kid throughout his school life. Often kept to himself. He had a group of friends but they were all much more outgoing than he was so he stayed by himself often.

♡ He liked doing art! He might of not been the best artist in the whole school but he had pride with his own artwork. Never showing it to anyone. Each drawing he would create during the middle of the class was him playing out ideas of what he wanted for the first tattoo.

♡ A Black Dragon.

♡ People often found Ookurikara scary during his school days because compared to Shokudaikiri and Tsurumaru, he didn't smile and was always quiet with eyes that looked like he was glaring out to the whole world.

♡ People started to call him the dragon of the school and whispered rumors of how he is scary and probably part of a gang.

♡ It honestly hurt. He would never tell anyone but he didn't want to get involved with anyone in case the rumors also would target them.

♡ Tsurumaru and Shokudaikiri were two friends he had since he was rather young so there is no way he could tell them to stop being friends with them but he did keep his distance from them while at school.

♡ The two would always fight the rumors when they heard it but it's not like just their voices would make them stop, no matter how untrue they were.

♡ It was during this time, Ookurikara would walk around a lot to clear his head when he got home because he didn't want anyone else to worry about him if he seemed upset.

♡ That is when he stumbled upon a hidden tattoo parlor. It was a very clean place that was further out than the rest of the shops. They seemed busy in their own right with people coming in and out often.

♡ That is where Ookurikara found himself often, admiring the art from afar and watching the artists do their work. Often sketching his own designs outside on a bench.

♡ A bell would ring one day as he was sketching away in the sunlight. He thought it was just a customer coming out from his appointment to leave but instead a voice spoke out to him.

♡ "You know the art is much easier to see inside, right?" He turned to see one of the artists standing in the doorway, speaking to him. He would later find out that artist was actually the owner of the place.

♡ Anxiety taking hold of him, he quickly started to pack up to leave. They were probably sick of him hanging out of their shop everyday.

♡ "I saw a glimpse of your designs... They are really good. Would you like to work in tattooing one day?" He would call again, causing Ookurikara to stop and look at him. A small nod but no words as he clenched his notepad in his arms.

♡ That is what started where Ookurikara would start to learn the practice of tattooing on people. Never actually doing it but listening to him speak as he inked the person. Telling him all the right ways to do it and what he should never do.

♡ The day that a person came in with a large scar on their back, asking for a phoenix to come out of their scar.

♡ He was a little confused. He saw before people getting tattoos to cover their scars... but to make it part of the art?

♡ "We all have things that have hurt us in our life but that makes us human and who we are today. Why let those things bring us down when we can use them as our strength?"

♡ They could see his eyes begin to glow as he began to sketch his first tattoo... A Black Dragon.

♡ At first, a name he held with resentment was now becoming a source of his strength.

♡ It was the tattoo owner that did his first tattoo when he was old enough and could pay for it. He would never tell Ookurikara but he cut the price in half for his student.

♡ Ookurikara would work for him for a while until after his final years of schooling where he would move and start up his own shop to give more people a way to express themselves with the art on their body and to find pride in the things they once called a weakness.

It takes him a little longer to realize what might be the root of your low evaluation of yourself, but once he has an idea of what might be the cause, he’ll naturally work on helping you see yourself in a better light

He tries to help build you up by complimenting you on things that aren’t related to the reason you think so little of yourself

In doing so he hopes you can become confident in other respects, and will work on building you up from what he hopes is a solid starting point

He’s more methodical than Izuminokami is and has a plan to loosely follow; he just wants you to see yourself as a worthy person, because in his eyes (and many of the other swords as well) you already are worthy as you are

Basically from that he goes to addressing your insecurities and helping you be more confident

It’s a slow process whose progress isn’t always steady, but his support for you is unwavering and

He earnestly hopes that you’ll be able to work through your insecurities, but wouldn’t force you to if you aren’t ready to face that quite yet

If you aren’t prepared to undertake the task of addressing your insecurities, then he’ll encourage you and try to lend you the strength to approach things slowly

He knows he can’t fix your issues for you, but at the very least, when the times comes when you must say your final farewell, he hopes that you will remember him and that you’ll continue to push forward, even if he’s no longer by your side

Ookurikara

Although he insists on not getting along with anyone, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t pay attention to the people that are around him

You’re no exception to this observation and despite his tendencies to push others away, picks up fairly quickly that you’re not all too confident in yourself or your abilities

He tells himself that it doesn’t matter and at first he’s not bothered about it. He’s aware that not everyone is going to be self-assured and reasons that it could be a number of things, such as anxiety with regards to being unfamiliar with war

But as time passes he notices that there are times you have good days and bad days, noting that you’re trying to get past whatever it is that’s holding you back

If he’s being honest with himself, it upsets him to a degree, as you’re the master, so you should be more confident in yourself

But Ookurikara isn’t an asshole about it

He’s more roundabout it than any of the aforementioned swords, telling you that you should have more faith in yourself, as all of the swords of the citadel put their faith in you; they’ve all stood by your side all this time, after all

He doesn’t realize that he’s implied that he also believes in you until after the words are already out of his mouth, but he means what he said

Honestly his words come off a bit harsh and sound more like a scolding than comfort or advice, and he really doesn’t know how to help, but he does think you should take pride in what you have accomplished so far

Nikkou Ichimonji, Nankaitarou Chouson, and Ookurikara Relationship Headcanons (GN Reader)

♡ Nikkou is business and logic first over everything else. He has a hard to understanding emotion and tries empathetic but it seems like he doesn't truly understand. He is a sword to be used in battle and to listen to orders from aruji and Sanchoumou. Emotions are very disconnected from him as a person. Especially romantic emotions.

♡ Nikkou will instantly tense up when he is put in a situation where emotions are high. If you are heart broken about something, he will try to solve it with logic and not truly understand that the situation doesn't need to be solve and that you are hurting emotionally. He tries to understand and will listen to you vent but that is all he really can do for you. He may put a hand on your shoulder in his attempt to comfort you but that is as much as does.

♡ This may seem like he is a robotic person but he really isn't. He just doesn't /understand/. He wants to understand though! He is a protective and loving person all things considered. He has people (Norimune, Sanchoumou, Nansen, Hasebe, Nihongou, Atsushi, Sayo, Hakata, and you) who he knows are special to him and wants nothing more to protect them. It is something he knows for a fact but understanding the complicated emotions connected to all of them is what he doesn't completely understand.

♡ Through the struggle of understanding emotions and breaking down the wall to let himself learn and feel, he is caring and thoughtful person. He may not know what to say or what to do but he cares and will try to listen. If you say you aren't feeling well because mentally you aren't doing well, he will come back later with some stomach meds and tea for you. He tries to help.

♡ It will take a while but eventually he will start to open up and try to do more romantic gestures to show you he wants to open his heart to you. Though you may think he is just trying to be caring and not actually flirt with you. You will know when one night he walks you back to your room and says goodnight with a soft forehead kiss.

♡ He will tense up at any affection you give him because like stated before, he doesn't completely understand and never received such affection in his life. As he slowly gets used to it, you will feel him melt in your grasp and follow your movements. He is not one for words when it comes to expressing his love. Rather he will show you he cares through actions or slight physical affection (holding your hand, soft kisses on the forehead/cheek).

♡ Not a fan of pda (other than hand holding) but surprisingly likes snuggling in your room.

♡ Nikkou is the big spoon, he will not give it up. He feels like that is the most protective position and makes him feel like he is one of your wings to protect you and lift you up.

♡ Nikkou has a special way in showing he wants attention. He will hold your hand underneath the table and rub his thumb over your knuckles. It is his way to say that he is feeling a little needy for affection and willing to try things that he would normally be uncomfortable doing.

♡ Nikkou is also like a mother hen at times. He wants to show he cares but doesn't know exactly how. So expect him nagging you; "Have you eaten?", "How much have you slept?", "Are you well enough to work?", "Have you drank plenty of water?", etc. He worries and cares about you in his own way. Just remember that if you ever get a little annoyed by his constant questions.

♡ Speaking of that, if he ever does something you do not like; Tell him right away. He might not pick up that he is going overboard and needs you to tell him. He won't be angry but will stop. He understands that sometimes he goes too far. Also if you are ever hurt emotionally, you have to explain how you are feeling inside or else he will not get it and be wary around you because he doesn't know how to help or if he would hurt you if he said/did the wrong thing. He truly cares for you but it's still hard for him to completely understand feelings and how emotions can really impact someone.

♡ Unlike the other two, Chouson is pretty expressive. So when I say you are Chouson's favorite person, you know. He always runs to you when he finishes a new invention, medicine, or just to geek out about something new he has learned. It doesn't matter what time it is, he runs to you first. Sometimes... to your displeasure. He gets so excited that he can't even see that it is 3am in the morning and he just woke you up from your deep slumber.

♡ Although Chouson is pretty friendly with all the other swords, you never see him hanging out with them. He is more focused in his own work rather than making friends with everyone. Which also means that he doesn't pick up social cues as well as some others. If he ever wanted to talk about anything, he would go to you.

♡ There hasn't been many in his life that showed any interest in his inventions or ideas. When you express interest and ask him to tell you more, he knew you would special and instantly started to grow attached to you. Prepare for him to talk your ear off, there is so much he wants to talk about and all the ideas he ever had. He has a book filled with many hypothesis and invention ideas. You will be hearing 1/3 by the time he lets you go so you can sleep.

♡ Every morning he is excited to see you because he knows that you truly care about him and what he thinks. It is a new feeling and he gets addicted by the first time you ever said "tell me more."

♡ Chouson does a lot of research on humans to understand them better because he wants to understand you better! He less cares about becoming more human himself. You are his main focus in that research. As soon as he learns about dating and what it means, he goes to you right away to ask you out. At this point, he isn't actually sure if he has romantic feelings for you but he knows you are special to him and wants to keep you close. As well as trying to be a loving boyfriend!

♡ He tries really hard to be a good boyfriend but he is clueless. Don't be shy to give him tips! You will have to guide him a little. Also expect him to read very cheesy romantic novels to understand dating more... Expect very cheesy pickup lines too. ...He is trying.

♡ Over the course of dating, he does develop romantic feelings for you! He probably had them from the start but couldn't recognize his own emotions since he relies so hard on logic rather than emotion. He knows he wouldn't want to do any of this dating stuff with anyone other than you.

♡ If something bothers him or he gets too excited, he will start pacing around the room talking at a speed that you almost can't understand. Lots of rambling too as he gets onto many topics. Drag him over to sit down and he will slowly calm down. His eyes just staring at you with adoration.

♡ His mood changes a lot but being around you helps him keep it in a happy state.

♡ Chouson adores tenderness. He will often overwork himself because he will be so invested in what he is doing. His muscles will be all tense and there will be dark bags under his eyes when he finally adventures into bed. Be sure to give him a small massage and kiss his face. He will surely have a large smile on his face as he gets comfortable and embrace you for the night.

♡ When he is focused, it is hard to get his attention and talk to him. So show it in silent ways how you love him. Get him food, and clothes he can change into. Sometimes it is okay to be a little pushy with him as well when he is pushing himself too far and not getting enough sleep. He may be a little grumpy with you at first but he will understand by the time his head hits the pillow and he falls asleep in an instant.

♡ Ookurikara is not the type of person who looks for relationships. He has an intense fear of getting close to someone and then losing them. It is why he constantly pushes people away and stays by himself. Can't get hurt if no one is close to you.

♡ When he began to develop a crush on you, he was even more distant than before (you didn't even know it was possible). He would cancel any plans that involved you, walked away the moment you sat down next to him, refuse to look you in the eye, and if someone asked him to give you something, he would pass it over to Mitsutada or Sadamune.

♡ It was your kindness and persistence that made him fall for you. You always went out of your way to help the sword that many would shy away from due to his resistance to all of them. You always offered an ear to listen to any concerns he may have, even if he never made face of any problems that may be bugging him under his skin.

♡ He kept pushing you away and tried to cause so much distance that you would hate him or just forget about him. However you stayed... And inside, he was melting.

♡ There has been many times where he would envision holding you and showing you affection only for it to be followed by him holding your wounded body on the battle field. Ookurikara is a sword of war... He knows far too well how fragile life can be.

♡ Most likely, you will have to confess to him first and ask him out. There is no way that Ookurikara will be honest about his feelings unless you make the first move. Even then, he will reply very shortly with "If that is what you want".

♡ Huge fear of abandonment. He will never vocally say it but you will need to reassure him that you would never leave him and that you are safe. Nightmares are a common thing with him after he grows attached to you. He knows what it feels to hold someone close to his heart... And it's terrifying that it can be ripped away so easily.

♡ When he is in a good mood, expect him to have his fingers linger on you. Brushing some hair out of your hair? it stays a little longer than needed. His golden eyes staring down at yours. His hand brushing against yours as you two walk side by side. Behind close doors, he may even pretend he fell asleep just so he could rest his head on your shoulder and feel you right there next to him.

♡ He will get frustrated and upset when you tease him or don't give him what he wants but when it comes to teasing you? Surprising... Rather good at it. He will lean in close to your face but quickly pull away and have a book in his hand, pretending like that was what he was reaching for the whole time. Ookurikara will make you say that you want to kiss him or hold his hand before he would even attempt it. If you tease him, he will make you suffer for it.

♡ Ookurikara.. LOVES sweets. He doesn't look like it but candy and pastries are his favorite. Kashuu and Mitsutada are the only two know of this face. Let's just say, Ookurikara comes back very grumpy when Kashuu teases him over not giving him sweets. Because he can't vocally say he wants them. He has an image to uphold! Please be sure to give him sweets and he will be so happy. May not smile but if he does, it will be small and short.

♡ "You bought too much. Eat them with me or else they will go bad."

♡ Favorite cuddling position is being the big spoon and holding you tight throughout the night. You can't get stolen away if he makes sure you are safe within his arms. It is also the position that nightmares don't happen in so it works out!

♡ When he has nightmares, he will suddenly jolt up in cold sweat. His chest rising and falling with heavy breaths, as if he just got done running for hours. His eyes will be lost in the dark shadows of the room. It's best to gentle hold him in those moments. Don't be scared if he suddenly flinches when you first touch him. He is still lost in his own thoughts at that time. As soon as Ookurikara looks over and sees you, well and untouched. He calms down. His head will slowly hang over and rest on your shoulder. No words spoken. Gently caress his hair and give him soothing words.

♡ "Don't you dare get hurt and go somewhere I can't follow."

Akashi Kuniyuki

It’s a sleepy morning for the two of you, or perhaps a late night? Who knows? Time stops and ebbs and flows whenever you two are together. There’s...not really a true way to describe it. You just...exist.

It’s a soft lull, Akashi adores the sound of your heartbeat. This kiss comes to you when you two are comfortable in a relationship. Yes he may tease and toy with you before entering this relationship but now that you two know its serious, he takes it seriously.

As much as he can at least.

This leads to cuddles all the damn time, Akashi adoring being the little spoon because it makes him feel safe and loved and wanted. It makes him feel like he’s yours. Because he is, but not as a sword, but as your beloved.

There’s just...something that makes him feel content whenever you two cuddle like this, your hands through is hair and his eyes shut. His own heart steady and calm.

You think he’s asleep, and perhaps he is. Just happy to be there, nuzzled against your chest. It’s bliss. You press your lips to his temple as a habit, feeling him stir. “Sorry, did I wake you?”

“No.” he answers back, opening one lazy eye. His voice is still marred by groggy sleep and it stirs and tugs at your heart strings. He just looks so cute like this.

But then there’s this glint in his eyes and you immediately begin to fear for your heart™️

“What are you looking at, Kuniyuki?”

“You.” and the kiss to your lips is sudden, lazy like he is but sweet and gentle. It quick and seamless, and when he parts, he smirks at your flushed face. “Good morning, love, I would say that is the best way to wake up, no?”

Ookurikara

Like Akashi, this kiss from Ookurikara will only come if you two are dating. Hell no this is not going to be a public spectacle. hELL NO are the rest of the dategumi about to see him kissing you. This is a private thing.

Honestly, you may have to initiate the damn kiss. There’s nothing wrong with moving at a snail’s pace, not at all! But whenever you two are ready to kiss, it’s...uh...awkward.

It’s just you two in your room, Ookurikara and you just enjoying each other’s presences. It’s possible that there’s a pot of tea shared between the two of you, Ookurikara is hesitant to open up to people and yes you two are dating but uh....this is hard for him.

You have to let him come to you if you want that kiss. It is most likely going to be something not truly out of the blue per say? But expected.

“Do you wanna try kissing, Kara?” you would say after beats of relaxed silence, just sitting by each other, each of you doing your own thingy. Ookurikara isn’t uber physically affectionate, but you might be leaning on him a little bit? He won’t mind.

BUt when you say this, he stares at you. Shocked, shocked I tell you. He stares at you with a rather neutral expression but face with a light tinge. You almost wanna tease him, but you know he’ll react negatively to it.

He turns his head away from you, Kara is dying I tell you! DYING. Poor man is found DECEASED. His heart can’t handle it!

“Only if you want to.” you quickly state to try and ease his worries.

“fine...” the mumble is small as he turns back to you, the pink of his cheeks having yet to fade. “Once. That’s it.”

And the kiss is soft and awkward and clumsy, it’s probably not even a kiss. It’s a small peck, and that’s fine. You two are moving at your own pace, and it will take time. When you two part, Ookurikara is silent. He seemed to have liked it, with the way his eyes dart back over to your lips. “If it makes you happy, shall we try again?”

Hakusan Yoshimitsu

Haku is somewhat emotionally distant like Ookurikara, but like Kara and Akashi, the first kiss will come after you two have decided to start dating. This kiss will probably happen when his fox is not present with him, the damn thing does tend to report back to the government like a little snitch, you two gotta have your private times!

I feel like Hakusan is very curious about it. He’s a very serious young man but he won’t lie and say he hasn’t thought about kissing you. He won’t show it though.

Knowing him, he might have asked Ichi-nii about this or decided to reach this himself. Again, his fox will be trying to keep an eye on him but Hakusan probs researched this.

Despite his coldness, Hakusan is secretly a bit of a romantic? He was a wedding gift after all, and even if he may hide it, he shows it sometimes when around you.

So it’s a lovely day and the fox is gone, Hakusan is relaxing in your presence, and helping you clear papers and so on and so forth. Your hands would brush against each other’s sometimes and he has this cute little smile you see out of the corner of your eyes, perhaps a small flush to his cheeks.

And then this fucker just turns to look at you after calling you and is like, “I want to learn how to kiss you.”

So after you get over heart attack number 7849 since becoming a saniwa, you two have this miniature staring contest. You ask him to repeat himself, maybe you were hallucinating? Confused? What. Is. Happening?????

He tells you again that he wants to kiss you, asking for your permission. “I have asked Ichigo and he was no help. I have also read books on it and it seems...nice.” he’s telling it like it is man, no hesitation here.

BUt here’s the thing. If Akashi’s first kiss with you is the lazy one, and Ookurikara’s first kiss is quick and seamless, than Hakusan’s first kiss is gentle, experimental. He holds you curiously, unsure of where to put his hands and even though he has researched all of this, it can only do so much in your presence. In the end he has his hand trying to pull you closer.

And when it ends, Hakusan’s face is a light tinge of pink, a soft smile decorating his lips. “I think...I think we will need to kiss more, for me to understand this properly.”

Warnings: Tsuru being Tsuru, I’m late for Valentine’s Day/White Day but do I care??? no.

Love is a mistake.

Molten liquor slips into the vastness of cocoa, a flash of amber against the darkness of the night. The heat bubbling under it – a spatula folding the mixture languidly, no rush to be felt.

Love is a stupid idea.

Instead it is care to be felt, to be radiating off of the man’s form. Hands steady, never shaking, gripping the handle of the tool as though it were a surgical blade, precision in every movement.

“What are you doing, Kara-bou?”

A groan leaves Ookurikara’s lips, as though the scowl upon his face was grafted on to him and the sound was by then an extension of him. Eyes narrow at the intruder of the sacred hallows, who dared to step into his domain?

Tsurumaru stands with a smirk plastered upon his mouth, hands on his hips. By his side is the ever bright eyed Taikogane, stars whirling in his orbs. “Kara! What are you making?!” boundless energy seeps into the atmosphere, with a bouncing movement as he stands beside the taller man, peering into the vat within the pot. “It smells great!” “Why are you two here?” Ookurikara’s shoulders slump, tension still emanating off of his form, only lessened by ebbs and flows; the presence of Taikogane was always welcome within his heart. His hands work to lift the bowl off of the bain-marie, metal clashing against rosy cotton as he presses it against, wringing out the wetness. “I thought I told everyone to stay out of the kitchen.” “But I wanted to see!” Tsurumaru pouts, stepping closer to the workbench, a low whistle leaving his lips.

Molds upon molds upon molds.

Hearts, squares, circles, flowers, gems.

“Oh ho~” came the snicker of the white haired male, hands behind his back as he swirls around to face his fellow warrior, the smirk dancing upon his lips. “What is all of this for?” “Why do you want to know?” Ookurikara answers, the scowl decorating his expression, just as a strawberry would decorate a chocolate. Eyes narrow at the implications behind those words, hairs standing on the back of his neck. “What are you getting at, Tsurumaru?”

“Oh nothing~!” sang the swansong from the cane “It’s just that there’s no one else you would give these chocolates to, right?” a finger pokes at a mold, magenta in hue. “Yes the little ones will get some but why would you give them heart-shaped chocolate hm?”

“Why not?” Brows knit at the words, the tone of voice ringing alarm bells within the recesses of his mind.

“Who else would you be giving these heart shaped chocolates for, other than our master?”

A flash of silver penetrates the golden eye of the crane, hands raised slightly, palms open, and that damn smirk still very much dancing against his lips. “You’re on thin fu-“

A hand gently crumples the hem of a jacket, Taikogane looking up at his fellow Dategumi sword with wide eyes. “For the master?!”

Ah, so that’s why Tsurumaru brought Taikogane along.

“Can I help?” ever sweet, ever king, Taikogane begins to search the kitchen cupboards for an apron that will fit his form, while the knife was slowly lowered from the general direction of the laughing crane.

“Bastard.” Came the hiss from Ookurikara.

“Oh don’t be like that, Kara-bou.” Tuts Tsurumaru, bounding over to the smaller tantou. “Let us help, surely we can help make this the best chocolate the master will ever have! And maybe…just maybe-“ “Shut up.” The man turns his head away from the other two, a hint of a rose blooming against his cheeks.

He would never admit it though.

Dategumi Shenanigans

Ye have asked, and ye shall receive

@rexcaliburechoes because you adore shoku

Now we all know that if you want to find either one of the Dategumi, it’s most likely in the kitchen. You’ll find Mitsu there most of the time, sometimes with Kara helping along with Sada-chan. Tsurumaru has been banned from the kitchen. Or being around knives. Or your office/computers/bank account.

Tsurumaru can’t go anywhere without one of the other Dategumi swords or someone to like “bodyguard” him. But really, the “bodyguard” is protecting the entire citadel and you from HIM.

No, Sada-chan cannot “bodyguard” Tsuru. He will be roped into his shenanigans. You can only rely on Shoku and Kara to keep him out of trouble. Sada-chan tries. Oh he TRIES.

The last time Sada-chan was in charge of keeping Tsurumaru out of trouble, the horses were found loose in the garden, the garden shed was on fire, and Hasebe almost died from a heartattack.

You know those dog-shaming and cat-shaming pictures on social media? Yeah, you have to make Tsuru wear one of those signs. There is also a little board that everyone keeps track of Tsuru shenanigans. It’s always at least two or three days since Tsuru does something to wipe the board.

Case in point? Perhaps Tsuru was listening to you for once. It’s been five days since he has done something ANYTHING to wipe the board. It helped that Hasebe and Ookurikara had been watching the man around the clock as well.

And then you sent the Dategumi out into town, “You four deserve a break!” you claim as you hand them your credit card, purposefully dodging Tsurumaru’s outstretched hand and giving the piece of plastic over to Mitsu. “Do. Not. Let. Tsuru. Touch. It.”

So guess who lost the credit card the minute they arrived at the mall? Yes. Tsuru stole it and kidnapped Sada-chan to go have fun.

Mitsu almost had a heart attack and he could have swore that he could feel you and Hasebe’s presences scolding him. So he immediately run off to find them.

Kara jogged behind Mitsu at a slow pace, he won’t admit that he was worried beyond belief - both eyes scanning the mall to figure out where the fuck those two went. He knows just as well as Mitsu what kind of things that will catch either Tsuru’s or Sada-chan’s eyes. They zoom in on to an arcade where they heard Sada’s screaming within.

They found them at a claw machine, Taikogane cheering on Tsurumaru as he wins yet another plushie for him and the citadel.

“What in the world are you two doing?” Kara would demand, arms across his chest as Mitsu clasps a hand over his heart, trying to calm it down. “How...much did you two spend?”

The pair would stop, glancing down at the arcade card and then the credit card. “A lot.” Tsurumaru would answer without a second thought.

“I put him up to this!” Taikogane slid in front of the other man, trying to protect him from the wrath of the other two. “I...I wanted to win things for our master and the other tantous. I’m sorry!” he would bow at his waist in apology.

MItsu would coo and cave, bringing in Sada-chan for a hug. “It’s alright, Sada-chan. We can win things. It is our day off, but don’t ever run off like that again. And you,” he holds out a gloved hand, a much more cross look upon his face. “Give back the card. We’re letting Kara-chan keep it this time.”

So they start a food fight at the food court after they leave the arcade with far too many prizes to hold.

Some ho probably poked fun at Sada’s clothing and all three Dategumi swords were ready to bash some heads in. And then Tsurumaru piledrove the dude into his own box of fries.

So uh, they’re banned from the mall and arcade now.

You don’t let them out of the citadel without permission anymore. Or without you.

And then you saw that at least one third of your bank funds were depleted.

Ahh, asmall saniwa that can fight, how lovely! I hope you stay in good health aswell!

Nikkari Aoe

Hedoesn’t really expect you to be able to fight; you’re the general that leadsthe army, the one that gives the orders

It’s notnecessary for you to fight, especially since you can just manifest tsukumogamias soldiers in the war you fight

So itcomes as a bit of a surprise when you insist on joining the frontlines; youassure your swords that you know what you’re doing and won’t be a hindrance

The swordsare naturally reluctant because things can change in an instant, it’s just toodangerous; no one wants to lose you

So youcompromise and say that if you defeat, or at least match the strength of, oneof the swords going to sortie, then that should prove that you’re able tohandle yourself

The swordsagree and Nikkari offers to be your “plaything” with that unfathomable smile ofhis

You takethe battle outside and end up being so fired up, you forget to hold back a bitand consequently end up injuring the wakizashi

Itbecomes evident that you’re extraordinarily strong, if his injuries areanything to go by

You’re apologeticand uttering about how you should have held back, but Nikkari just laughs itoff and says he’s glad you fought seriously and that injury is expected

All theother swords are stunned by your display of strength finesse, especially sinceyou never seemed to be the type to fight, and to fight so well at that

But becauseNikkari is injured you have to find a replacement for the team going on sortie andyou handle that rather quickly

Ultimatelyyou decide to stay behind to tend to the injuries you caused yourself (to the reliefof all the swords)

As youtend to his wounds he warns you that the battlefield is dangerous, no matter howskilled you are, and that he’s glad you didn’t go

You canonly gently chastise him, saying that as the leader that you should see it atleast once, otherwise how can you better understand the swords or what’snecessary of you?

Nikkari onlylaughs in a mysterious way, wondering how he came to have such a capable andconsiderate master

Tsurumaru Kuninaga

It’s asurprise for him when he learns you’re able to fight

Not reallythough, as he’s one of the more observant swords he’s able to notice that you’vehad some kind of training for combat

It’s inthe little mannerisms you have, from the way you’re able to respond almostinstantaneously to catch a tantou that’s tripped or the way you manage to evadenearly all of Tsurumaru’s surprises

Though ofcourse, he’s naturally curious if he’s correct and the extent of your abilities

And intrue Tsurumaru fashion, finds out a way he can do so while also (hopefully)surprising you

So withthat in mind he decides to approach you from behind, though he’s not able toexecute his plan very far

You endup throwing him across the room after delivering a solid strike to the solarplexus and he hits the opposite wall with a small oof

Despitethe fact that he anticipated you striking back, he’s the one surprised, consideringyour response time and the fact you thoroughly aimed to disengage yourself froma dangerous situation, even though you’re in the citadel where you’d leastexpect to find an enemy

He’s abit winded but he gives you a thumbs up from across the room and makes a ruckusabout how surprised he is that you threw him across the room

It’s thenyou realize that you tossed one of your swords across the room, but you aren’t surprisedthat it’s Tsurumaru

He thinksthat maybe you aren’t a master who will die so easily since you’re able toreact so quickly to protect yourself and is assured that you’re a master thatcan defend yourself

Heintends to keep his distance as he always has and letting the other swords lookafter you despite all this though and keeps such thoughts a secret

It isn’tas if it had been a proper fight, but Tsurumaru bounds up to you saying howimpressive you are and says that you should have mentioned you could fightsooner

He also half-jokinglysuggests that perhaps next time, you can join him on the battlefield andsurprise all the other swords

Ookurikara

Doesn’treally think much about how small you are; he doesn’t plan on getting alongwith you regardless of how you are, so it doesn’t matter to him

He findsout about how you can fight when you find yourself a bit frustrated with hisbehavior, with his constant insistence of doing everything alone (even if youunderstand why he is the way he is)

Youchallenge him to fight you one on one with the intention of making him acknowledgeyou, because at the very least, you don’t want to be ignored or pushed aside whenyou address him

He scoffsand figures that if he beats you, you’ll leave him alone so he agrees (and hedoesn’t want to deal with you continuing to insist if he refused)

Hefigures that with such a small and presumably weak master such as yourself it’dbe an easy win anyway

Each ofyou takes one of the wooden practice swords and spar with each other

It’s afairly heated match and you manage to come out victorious one way or another

Hedoesn’t really show it but he’s surprised when you take a proper stance, andeven more so when you wield the sword with a finesse he hadn’t expected

He’s abit surprised since he wasn’t expecting to be defeated by you and unconsciouslyfinds himself comparing you to the tantou (it’s because you’re so small)

Ookurikarais definitely forced to rethink his assessment of you being weak; his image ofyou has improved and he ends up conceding that he’ll at least acknowledge youwhen you approach

You havethe read between the lines to really see it, but he acknowledges your skillwith the sword, even if he only faced you in a practice match and he sees youas strong and capable

He’s trueto his word and every time you approach, he acknowledges your presence even ifhe only glares or gives a noncommittal noise

If youever bring up wanting to help at the frontlines or something similarly risky,Ookurikara will tell you that you’re capable, but that you should leave thefighting to the swords, but of course in his own Ookurikara way

Ichigo Hitofuri

Honestlyis probably a bit worried initially; you’re just so small and he sees you asdelicate because of that

Then hereminds himself a lot of his brothers are small and even seem delicate, but aremore than capable of taking care of themselves

But thenagain, just because you’re small like his brothers doesn’t mean you are stronglike them as well

He’sstuck between thinking of you as being capable of defending yourself even if itdoesn’t seem like it, or maybe you really are as delicate as you appear

Ultimatelyhe forces himself not to stick to any one assumption; maybe you just appeardelicate and you’re capable of protecting yourself, but perhaps not…

Still hecan’t shake off his concerns and his uncertainly pushes him to make a suggestionthat you should learn some defensive moves from the swords

Ichigo’soffer comes across as him being concerned for your safety and well-being, whichdoesn’t strike you as being odd since he seems to be considerate of everyone

You tryto appease his worries by assuring him that you’ve already learned to disarm apursuer and that you know to incapacitate them so you can flee

Though youalso bring up that while that might be effective for your original time, thatit may not be so pragmatic in an actual battle, which results in you asking himto teach you

You decideto start your little impromptu session with him by demonstrating what you knowfirst, so that way he knows what you’re capable of

Thus,Ichigo pretends to be an attacker (though, of course, he’s more far more gentleand considerate than an actual attacker would be) and he’s satisfied to knowthat you should be able to get away from a human, but you’re not against normalpeople, not in the same way you’re used to encountering

And heinsists that you learn to defend yourself beyond just getting away and youagree, though he’s a bit surprised to see you can hold your own in a fightunarmed

You actuallymanage to unarm him and subdue him without expending a great deal of effort

You sheepishlyadmit that you do have experience in a number of…confrontations, but that youdon’t know how to fight armed

And so youtry to convince Ichigo to teach you to fight with a sword, though it doesn’t takemuch since he’s the one that started this in the first place

The Shape of Elegance (Kiwame!Kasen Kanesada x Reader (GN))

Kasen Kanesada was many things. He was a man who was polite and was very of his appearance around others. He always did his best to look as lovely as he could and make sure he had a regal aura about him. He was clean and hated getting dirtied. He wasn’t shy to let his saniwa and other swords how annoyed he was that he was tasked with field duty. Weren’t they aware that his clothes would be ruined and he would be all sweaty? Surely not a sight to be seen with his type of sword.

He was so many things. Some things he showed to the world... And others, he kept more secret.

Like how he became blood-thirsty on the battle field and his anger was not something to be trifled with. He tried so hard to mask these sides of him that he deemed inelegant but they still remained a part of him no matter how hard he tried to bury it deep within him and make it disappear.

He was a man who would let you know that he didn’t like you. How badly he found the Date swords unsightly, especially that Ookurikara.

Kasen was someone who had to people had to earn his praise and trust. Someone who hated his previous master for how brutish he was. Someone who wasn’t willing to open his heart to another because he had learned that even the person he was supposed to love with all his heart, was dirty and ugly on the inside.

However, this time around... That didn’t happen. His saniwa earned his trust over time and became a close ally to the very sophisticated sword.

Kasen Kanesada was many things. A starter sword to his current aruji and a worthy opponent in his current home due to being the strongest one there.

But most importantly, he was gone.

He had been gone for days now. He decided internally that he could no longer get stronger how he was currently, so he asked his aruji for a simple request that they never thought would come out of the sword known as Kasen Kanesada.

“Hey. Will you listen to what I have to say? I wish to become stronger... And to do that, I need to go back to where it all started. To Lord Sansai Hosokawa.”

It was clear the expression on his face was one of determination and one that wouldn’t take no for an answer. He was always a stubborn one.

That was nearly a week ago now and he still hadn’t returned. They had received three letters since his first departure... But since the last letter; it was silent.

The citadel life had continued like it always it. The tantous playing and seeming to have the most fun away from the battle.

The sparring center was full of clashes and sword yelling at each other for cheap shots.

The kitchen was still always busy with someone inside cooking or making tea... But it was never the one that the saniwa was looking for.

Those purple locks were absent in the citadel. In their everyday life... And in their heart.

Kasen Kanesada was one that would fit the label of motherly. He nagged... A lot. However, it was always because he cared. In his own backwards ways, he cared about his new aruji so much and seemed to be by their side everyday to make sure they were getting out of their office.

Even with him gone, they found themselves leaving because they knew that is what they would wish for, even if he wasn’t there to nag them himself.

Ever since the last letter, it became hard to get work done or sleep.

Surely he was going to return any minute now... Right?

Did they truly miss their starter sword so much that they were now questioning their loyalty to their current master? It seemed so. It hurt. They never realized how empty the citadel could feel until Kasen left.

It had been seven days since Kasen first left the citadel to go on his training. Seven days and now the sun was barely raising when they heard the sliding of the front door from their room.

Awaken from their light sleep, (Y/N) jumped up from their futon and raced to the door to peak out. They didn’t want to race out of their room if it ended up not being who they so desperately wished for. They didn’t need the other swords to see their heart-break because they were someone else.

They didn’t need to worry.

Coming in from the outside world was a man with a wooden hat but violet locks peeking out from under it.

That is all that (Y/N) needed to race out of their room and face the person who just entered the citadel.

Kasen Kanesada. The ever graceful sword. The man who was always about appearances. The man that left the citadel for seven days for training. And most importantly; (Y/N)’s beloved starter sword.

“Kasen,” (Y/N) called out into the barely lit hallway. Hope and happiness clear in this voice.

“Aruji,” Kasen took off his hat. The same face as they remember shined back at them with a smile that they could never get tired of. “I’m home.”

It was the starter sword that they remembered so clearly from the face... However it was clear that it wasn't the same man who exited the citadel a week ago. He was a changed man.

His new kimono was now a more purple color that seemed to match his saya (scabbard). The flower he always praised and adorn on his person was now also different to fit his new outfit. A bellflower.. A flower that meant gratitude. To match his new appearance, a cape that remarkably resemble one of butterfly wings.
