Bye Bye 2020 (FINALLY!)
I’m actually writing this in 2021, the privilege for being in Asia :P
I don’t know why but lately I stayed away from TS3 and focused on building a TWICE theme park on Planet Coaster on and off. Each ride or roller coaster is based on the elements shown in TWICE MV (debut to 2020). It’s a mega (endless?) project. So far I’ve only finished the section 2015 & 2020.
The only exception is “Cry for Me,” a big hit went viral after stage performance but no MV will be released according to the girls. So I went with my own design, using the concept video as a reference with the elements like thorns, red carpet, candles and tear drop signs. The butterfly actually comes from “I Can’t Stop Me” the song before CFM. oh it’s a free fall ride, and definitely makes one cry XDDDD I really like the result haha. (Btw I have this strong crave for Ferrero Rocher lately...lol)
Another two pieces that I’m especially proud of are the zombie shooting ride “Like OOH-AHH(OOH-AHH하게)” & sync motorcycle coaster “I Cant Stop Me” I made two videos to show how it feels like when you’re unfortunately get on these evil rides. XDDD
The quality of these clips are pretty crappy cuz my GPU screams whenever I play the game. Besides, building on Planet Coaster is like playing with some digital lego, super time-consuming(For the record, that’s why I download lots of works from Steam Workshop and modify them to my needs. The only thing I build 100% on my own is CFM, so is “Like OOH-AHH, but with some custom contents) . So I bought Project Hospital during the winter sale and enjoyed the different style there. That’s pretty much I’ve been doing with my spare time lately. Not sure when I’ll go back to TS3, hopefully sometime in 2021. See you all soon! Take care and stay safe! Happy New Year everyone!🎉🎆😘

* 𝖒𝖎𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖑𝖑𝖊 𝖆𝖍𝖓 ● A DEEP DIVE—
THOUGHTS ON CANDY’S DISCOGRAPHY.
( * ) AKA THE ROAST OF CANDY’s MUSIC.
𝖓𝖔𝖙𝖊, i ( boone ) am a massive fan of twice, & do not share any of the opinions expressed by michelle in conjunction with candy’s ( & twice’s ) music. also, please take this as a warning that she’s likely to get extremely negative & critical with her points of view. 😂
with a name like candy, michelle knew early on that the music she & her group-mates would later release was going to be sweet enough to give its listeners toothaches, & she definitely wasn’t wrong making that assumption. from ooh-ahh하게 to dance the night away, every title track ( & most of their b-sides ) perfectly accentuate the refreshing & adorable girl-next-door visuals the girls are meant to portray to their fanbase. the lyrics are simple enough for all ages to understand, the keys are all quite high & require bright timbres, the melodies are curated specifically to be addictive ( & redundant ) & overall, the producers that bc entertainment hires for them get the job done every single time. with top-selling hits comeback after comeback, they’re in a really comfortable place, but that means no risks have been taken as of yet, & that in & of itself causes a lot of concern for michelle. as someone that doesn’t want to get heavily involved in producing or writing for her group — nor is she a person who bodies the harder vocals in the songs — she feels as though her opinions won’t matter to the creative team were she to make then known, so she remains in silence because of that. though, if anyone were to ask her to be honest about what she thinks of candy’s musical catalogue, she’d state something like this; track-by-track:
● THE STORY BEGINS ( TITLE TRACK, OOH-AHH하게 ) → ❝ to be honest, when i first listened to the début track, i really wasn’t a fan. i don’t know. call me a hater or whatever, but above all, it just seemed, like, multiple disjointed songs forced into one, & the lyrics are vain & kinda vapid. i’m all for showing off your confidence, but like, after only a minute & a half of listening to us stroke our own egos it’s just like ❛ please shut up ! ❜ you know what i mean? like, god—we get it, you think you’re the shit. is that all? what else is there? maybe i’m just over it at this point, who knows. the rest of the album’s cute, but honestly? i feel like i don’t remember the lyrics or my parts in any of those b-sides, so there’s that. god, i’m the worst. ❞
● PAGE TWO ( TITLE TRACK, CHEER UP ) → ❝ to put it plainly, cheer up is the bane of my existence. i feel like my life would be so much better if we never released that song & album. it’s not my cup of tea to begin with, but other than that, like, the amount of times i was asked to do the dance & sing along to my ❛ shy, shy, shy ❜ line alone has just soured my mood about this era forever. like, that’s all i have to say... every time we have to perform this massive hit of ours, i die a little inside. like, my soul decays... i’ll stop now, though. yikes. ❞
● CANDYCOASTER: LANE ONE ( TITLE TRACK, TT ) → ❝ so, i still get this stuck in my head a lot. this is one that i can kind of get behind. like, it’s still the same ol’ concept & vibe, but i like the title & album. at the time, it seemed more experimental for us—even just a little bit. 1 to 10 is a song i like too because of how smooth & low-key it is. i also remember having a really fun time recording the music video for tt, too, because it’s halloween themed & i love halloween. ❞
● CANDYCOASTER: LANE TWO ( TITLE TRACK, KNOCK KNOCK ) → ❝ repackages feel like money-grabs to me, so i typically don’t really like when they’re released. i don’t know, it’s cheap to me, in a way. maybe i’d be cool with it if the new songs were better—or just as good as the others—but in this case, i feel like knock knock was a step down from tt. like, we didn’t improve, we got worse, & that’s kind of embarrassing. ice cream’s cute, but i like that chill type of music a lot, so i don’t mind that one as much. it’s just knock knock that bothers me. ❞
● SIGNAL ( TITLE TRACK, SIGNAL ) → ❝ this is the first time i had to sing a whole chorus by myself, so it was daunting. not to mention that i’m apart of the group of people who really don’t like this song, but at the same time, i kind of love that it’s so polarizing. like, it’s created such a huge divide between our fans. some want to forget it exists, & others totally cherish it, & i think that’s cool, you know? it just kind of reminds how everything’s subjective, & even though i may dislike some of our songs, a lot of people like them & that’s... special in it’s own way. ❞
● CANDYSTAGRAM ( TITLE TRACK, LIKEY ) → ❝ alright, i’m a likey fan. this whole album, to be honest. it’s another point where it felt like they were trying to move us in a different direction, even if only a little bit. it was really fun to travel to vancouver to film the music video, too, like it’s so beautiful there. it made me want to live in canada someday, not gonna lie. lots of memories were made recording this record, too, so i guess i don’t have a ton of complaints? it made me miss having my own instagram account though... ❞
● MERRY & HAPPY ( TITLE TRACK, HEART SHAKER ) → ❝ i said earlier that i think repackaged albums are cheap, & i stand by that, but i can’t deny that this one was far better than candycoaster: lane two. like, if you’re going to bring an album back with a new single, hit people with something totally new & fun. heart shaker is cute, but in a way that i like & in a way that’s totally different from likey at the same time. i love that it’s led by guitar, too. i’m so into that. honestly, this whole era is one i really enjoyed, like, it was a strange highlight of my time with candy so far. ❞
● WHAT IS LOVE? ( TITLE TRACK, WHAT IS LOVE? ) → ❝ another solo chorus for me. i like this title way more than signal, though. however, while i like what is love? as a song, i’m not into the b-sides. sort of like the first two eps, like, i just don’t remember any of them. this music video is really cute, too, i remember really liking the concept & what the director had in mind. ❞
● SUMMER NIGHTS ( TITLE TRACK, DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY ) → ❝ seems like the money-grabs keep on happening, & well, i guess it’s a good thing they sell so well. what else is the point of them anyway? so, this is our most recent song & i’m just done with it. the choreo is hard, & i feel like i came out sounding like a literal three-year-old on the final edit, so... i can’t wait to move on & hopefully have people forget about this one. i know i already have... ❞
