i think he enjoys a bunch of art forms; from music stuff to dance stuff to painting stuff, this man has taste. i think he would give you a bunch of outfits for you to wear and swap around that fits your aesthetic. bro would give you a whole walk in closet. as for dysphoria, i think he would do a similar thing with jax and reinforce how masculine you are to him, usually through affirmations, but he also shows it through just being there for you, bro is not only your number one fan but hes also your biggest supporter

POMNI:

i am yet again stumped on what to put in for pomni, since i think pomni is. bad at comforting people. very awkward, do not go to her for advice she will fumble so bad. now its not like shes not trying, but i think she would be all over the place trying to cover everything that could possibly help you; perhaps you two ultimately settle on cuddling one another... if this werent the digital world you two would probably put on a movie to take your mind off of it. as for her thoughts on ballet! i think she would find it neat, similar to jax she would have a form of respect for it!

RAGATHA:

she thinks it looks pretty, the dancing! she wouldnt know all the history or more in depth parts of it but she would watch you practice if you allowed her too... i think she would make you a binder, if your digital body causes any gender dysphoria for you.. though now that i type this i recall it being said that the characters clothing being stuck to their body.. so maybe she would just make you clothing thats more masculine as well? im not sure on this one!

JAX:

doing jax first since he already got a similar post and i can use it as a basis; ive said this in that post as well as the ballora one but i think he would at least appreciate the dedication and hard work that goes into ballet... to like, fully commit to something like that impresses him you know? as for dysphoria, i think he would make it a point to call you more masculine terms. hes gonna be trying his best to try to help you with your dysphoria in the way that best helps you. lays off on his teasing on days where its worse

KINGER:

i am yet again distraught that i do not have many ideas for kinger this time, which is sad because hes my favorite character and i can relate so hard to the dysphoria thing... thinks.. probably throws all of his knowledge at you. i mean hes been in the circus for a while, hes probably seen at least a few people come and go; and sure what are the odds that he has some experience helping someone fight through their dysphoria... a boy can dream! takes you to his pillow fort and lets you stay for as long as you want

probably sits and watches you dance on a makeshift pillow thrown. claps when you're done, probably throws roses... i think caine would throw roses too except he would throw way more simply because he can literally. manifest as many as he wants

ZOOBLE:

i dont usually like sharing my lgbt hcs about characters out of fear that it would be met with discourse but if i recall correctly zooble doesnt really have a gender/a set one (if im wrong correct me!) so they understand the dysphoria thing; i think they would offer to let you hang out in your room and vent your feelings out. probably tries to give advice on how to feel better in general if you want advice, but if you want comfort theyre gonna do your best to give it to you. i dont think zooble would have much of an opinion on ballet; neither negative or positive, simply knowing thats its an art form! supports you if it makes you happy, though!

GANGLE:

while not the same thing, i like to think gangle used to do ribbon dancing in the real world... because... ribbon girl. see look im so so creative

but also i think it looks pretty

so you guys can bond over your hobbies! you might have to pry gangle to open up and talk about her interest in it, assuming she picks it up again in the digital world! as for dysphoria, i think gangle would be like zooble in terms of lending you some support; offers to help distract you if you dont want to tackle the issue at that point in time. i dont know about you, but sometimes i just, dont want to deal with my own dysphoria, but perhaps thats just a me thing

Ahhh thank you so much! Over the past week, as I've been obsessively drawing him, I've received a lot of nice comments about my Xisuma design. I am very happy with the design I settled on, and I'm glad other people feel the same! It feels good to know that I've created something which other people can resonate with in the same way that I do.

I'm happy that you think I got the eyes right! When drawing a character like him, covered head to toe in armor, fabric, and equipment, it can be difficult to make their emotions readable to an audience. Fortunately for me, the one part that he doesn't have completely obscured is perhaps the best tool for that job - the eyes and eyebrows!

*slaps roof of eyeball* this bad boy can fit so much fucking emotions in it /ref

I like to tweak my designs with each new drawing I do, never really settling, so the way I draw Xisuma's eyes, as well as the rest of him, has been changing from drawing to drawing. Though, I do have a few traits which I have noticed myself gravitating towards: I tend to have his eyes wide open with small irises, a visible eyelid crease, and some marks below the eyes, indicating tiredness, or dark circles. I am biased towards bushy eyebrows on characters, but for him, I have been doing more thin, defined eyebrows, since I feel they can convey his expressions more clearly. My hope is that those characteristics give the impression of someone who may be tired, but is alert, and probably caffeinated. Or anxious. Or both! I also hope to make him appear kind and approachable, despite the big intimidating helmet and body armor.

I saw a Hermitober drawing of Xisuma on Twitter, by MyraTheFarmer, which was a close-up shot of his visor, showing off his eyes and scars. I really liked it! It stuck with me, and I think I'd like to draw something similar, especially now that I can do digital art again. I tend towards thicker lines, which leave little room for detail in the face, but it'd be a good exercise to break out of that comfort zone, and try a more detailed portrait of him. Maybe painted, even?

Sorry, I know this is probably more of a response than you bargained for :) Turns out I have a lot of thoughts about Xisuma. Who could've guessed, LOL. Thanks again for your message! It made me smile.

as for the ms paint texture, if you wanna do the cool hylics shading thing (i dont know what to call it) use the spray-paint can on the ms paint WEBSITE!!!! remember to use the WEBSITE!!!! i started using the website version of ms paint like, at the beginning of this month, and its the most fun i've ever had with drawing digitally, like i hate to break it to you adobe/krita/everyone else but ms paint has been giving you hand over ass since 2009 you CANT beat this.

I will say the spray-can technique can be kinda time consuming, since theres no layers and you can only redo 3 strokes at a time. It really starts to become painting in like, the 'irl', its insane.

Alone: Across The River, Chap. 4

We spent the night in damp clothes and talking about anything we could think of. We talked about the future, love, school. I think we stayed up until the rain stopped and the sun was peaking out. I love being with my friends, I wanted to soak up the night as much as I could before I had to go home to silence. At least Cooper was there and I know he's fine home alone after I gave him dinner and more water. 

But the future talk is what stuck, Ive thought about it many times. Ive wanted to go college ever since I was little. I've seen all the movies and shows where it takes the main character through high school and then the last episode of the show is them debating on what college to go too and leaving their family and friends and then graduating then the show ends. Why did the show have to end right after they graduate high school? I want to see what happens to them after high school. Do the couples still stay together? Do they still love what they're doing? Do they all keep in touch years later? This sparks up a memory I forgot I had.

 “Why does the show end after high school? Does that mean that after high school everything is boring?” A young Forest says while sitting on the couch with her dad. Her dad laughs, “God no. high school just tries to prepare you for college or whatever people want to do afterword. These types of shows are horrible at showing kids the real world.” her dad shakes his head. “ I mean don't get me wrong, it was fun and I got to meet your mom, but college and after was the best. I made better memories then I've ever had in high school. I thought I was always going to think back to the football games and the dances and the parties but I barely remember that now.” then mom walks in, eavesdropping I assume. “ That’s true, the drama that happens in school doesn't matter after high school. No one cares.”  They go on to tell me that I have my whole life to look forward too, I could go anywhere I want and study whatever I want.

 Dad wanted me to do whatever made me happy, even if it wasn't college in my future. I remember he said “ Go to college, don't go to college, move to a different country, live in a van and travel across the country. All I care about is that you are doing you and I'll always be here to support you. But I've always wanted to study nature. Dad always said if he didn't go into real estate he would have gone into environmental science or some sort of conservation field. He loved the forests around our old house. 

Now I see him in the trees by my house and I hear him in the wind blowing through the trees.

I miss you dad.

After Aspen drops me back at home and her pestering if I'll be okay alone.

“Are you sure you'll be okay here alone?” she rolled down her window

“Yes, I've been alone her many times” I roll my eyes

“Hm, ill sleepover tonight”

“No you don't have too, really I'm okay.” I tell her

“See you at 7:30! I can't believe I have to work tonight”  she smiles and drives off before I could get a word in.

 I sigh and go inside. Im actually glad she insisted she stays over, I don't know why but it just feels a lot lonelier then normal here. 

Greeted by Cooper and I put my stuff on the table. I clean up a bit in the kitchen and head towards my room. I look at my digital clock.

11:50

Okay so I have until 7:30 until Aspen comes back.

“Okay so, I'm going to clean my room, Take a shower, read Romeo and Juliet, walk you and order the pizza.” I said to Cooper like he could understand me. 

My room is my prized possession. Green walls, with field guide posters covering every wall. Along with hanging dead flowers and these blue dragonfly lights mom got me for my birthday. I also painted my ceiling and doors. Butterflies flying around my ceiling and colorful handprints on the door. I like a room that feels really lived in. Not just some modernized grey and white room. But having a lot of stuff in my room makes it a lot easier for it to get messy. 

I also like to play music while cleaning or showering or reading. So I guess just listening to music 24/7. 

I shuffle my playlist and the first song to play is Lovers Rock by TV Girl. One of my all time favorites. I just love the rhythm to it. 

12:30pm 

I finally finish cleaning my room, but I got distracted a bunch of times after finding things I thought I lost forever. Now time for a shower. 

1:08pm

Okay after showering and doing skin care I put on some comfortable clothes. My green sweats and a wear sweatshirt because I always feel cold after showers. 

Now, time for homework.

6:00pm

After doing some reading, annotating and some math homework. I decide that Romeo and Juliet is a stupid book. im not going to go into it.

Time to walk Cooper now. I put his leash and and grab my headphones. He runs towards the trail and we get into sync with it. Walking the trail reminds me dad. He used to use any break I had from school to drive us out to national parks. It was always my favorite thing to do. We would always collect rocks from wherever we went and slept under the stars if mom let us, because she would always say “we would get sick”. 

We walk for a bit and stop at the flat rock area and sit there for a bit. Cooper likes to put his paws in and I don't usual let him because he always get dirty but today I'm feeling nice.

I lay my back against the cool rocks and stare at the fading blue sky above. Watching the clouds disappear.

“Hey!! Pretty girl and dog!”

Oh no.

no.

no.

no.

I sit up instantly. I see him. Foster in his black sweats and nike crewneck. Looks like he was about to go for a run. 

“Hey?” the river was quieter today, no need to talk over it as much.

“Oh my god! I have been coming back here everyday hoping you'd be walking by”

Really? it’s been two days. “oh well hi, Cooper and I just walk whenever I have time.” 

“Cooper? wow I know your dogs name before yours” He laughs and his lips pull into a crooked smile.

I laugh too. “Yeah I guess you do.” 

“You have a beautiful laugh” he says

I stiffen. I look at my watch it’s 6:45. How long was a sitting there? 

“Well it was nice talking to you again, but I have plans in a bit and have to get ready! Bye” I give a weak smile and start walking along the trail back to my house.

He starts walking too

“Plans? With your boyfriend?” 

I glance at him “I don't have a boyfriend” 

I didn't have to look over but I could tell he was smiling when he said “Well can I finally get your name before you go this time?” he says hopefully. 

“Bye Foster” I say teasingly 

what am I doing?

And Im finally hidden within my side of the woods and walk back to the house. I did hear though a faint. “Bye river girl” 

Exactly what I called him. 

Aspen is going to freak.

one of my friends, ever since the drace reveal, has been making stuff about dream nonstop.... its been almost what, 5??? months??? he does fanfic, character studies, anatomical pieces, digital paintings, i think he even made multiple dream blobs out of clay once???

he says hes straight, but he keeps messaging me about dream and i think he may have a man crush?? or like, parasocial crush?? idk. i think he wants to be dreams friend moreso than partner, but idk

i KNOW him being "obsessed" with dream doesnt automatically mean hes attracted to him, however. hes done/said some things that make me sideye him a bit.

maybe its just me. afterall, i cant know what hes thinking, and hey, if he IS attracted to dream in an mlm way?? hes my best friend, id rather keep him.

Most pages come with short captions that talk about the designs, on why they were drawn a certain way, and what the artists are trying to show.Ĭompared to the previous artbook, the concept art here seem to have more life, maybe cause it has a good mix of art, some are just environment and some with people and action. The action is tight, the presentation bordering on stunning, and the. No words can describe just how well optimized and visually impressive this game is. I've read some reviews on Amazon complaining about the lack of art because of the 3D renders but I don't mind the look here. Review scores When you divorce it from its many controversies, Battlefield V still thankfully holds up as a good game. Battlefield V is the shooter long-time fans, and certainly fans of shooters in general, have been waiting for.And its absolutely gorgeous. Definitively Battlefield V is a monumental shooter despite a conventional singleplayer (who stay interesting). I've seen concept art from other games that use this collage/texture overlay/speed paint method and they don't work well, but in this artbook it's done really well.ĭesigns for the characters, weapons and tanks are mostly realistic renders, like in game stills, rather than sketches. Battlefield V is a good surprise with a new teamplay system (support by intelligent heal mechanics), more destruction, customization and specialization system for weapons and vehicles. These are digital paintings, probably with texture overlays, that are really well done in the scenes that they look realistic. They are well composed from an artistic point of view and for scenes with actions, they are well captured. The scene paintings and environment art look terrific. This artbook is a huge 200-page artbook filled with concept art for character designs, storyboards, environment, weapons and tanks. Game developer EA DICE did a nice job coming up with the concept and ideas for players to explore what it's like fighting WWII and yet respects the history and people who actually fought it. World War II is certainly an interesting subject to base on for a game.

BUT if you like being portable nd have a more minimalistic or painterly style (bc procreate’s texture brushes are some of the best ive ever seen!!!!!!!! like u can recreate oil painting nd water color nd crayons w ease) then procreate would be better bc it’s WAY cheaper than photoshop if u get the subscription nd i live nd die by paint tool sai but it’s texture feature don’t hit as hard (i won’t bore u w the specifics but yeah)

out of curiosity, how did you plan out your crafting studio room? i'm looking to eventually have similar for myself and it's hard to know where to begin apart from Lots Of Storage, Oh God Where Does All The Yarn Go, Where Does All The Fabric Go

Hum, so, alright, most important thing to remember is your first layout wont be right. You’ll use the space and learn and you might need to add things or do a swap. Art rooms are an evolving space so accept that! That’s most important.

For more concrete things though...

Go vertical: UP is such a valuable resource of extra space so get shelves or command hooks and use it! I have the big white shelves from Ikea that are love but I also have a otherwise worthless wall between the two openings that I use for my rulers. Boxes: So one of the worst things in an art room is when you don’t put things back into all the storage you bought because it’s more work than a few steps and a drop to put it back. Or when you have to dig in a deep drawer or box to find something. So like, I don’t have to hunt for spray adhesive by pulling out of a bunch of cans off a shelf and making a mess I have to clean up later, I can pull out the bin and grab what I need and put the bin back with not individual item mess.

One of the best things to do is have lots of shelves (at Ikea you can buy extra shelves for units) just the height you need with boxes on them just the height for items. Worktops: Think about the type of art you do and if you need/can fit different work tops so you don’t have to stop one type of project to start on another. I have the big wooden worktop that is for messy things like sculpture usually and a separate for painting. I don’t have to clean up just when I want to paint. Sometimes two small things is better than one big one for separation reasons.

Side note: Look at like, office whole sale places. With everything going digital companies are getting rid of flat boxes and drafting tables and such. I’m admittedly really lucky that the big bench and the grey cabinet are construction company throw aways and they are THE BEST THINGS.

Lay it out: Lay your workspace out first virtually or on graph paper! If you’re computer savvy, get Sketchup for free and you can make yourself a virtual space and see how things fit. If you aren’t, graph paper and little cut out furniture on post it notes works damn well too. You can get a real idea of what fits and where you want it and save time moving actual heavy things around. Just keep in mind that walk ways will feel tighter in real life than on paper! And chairs add bulk. 3′ walk way is standard and 2-2.5′ to pull out a chair.

Oh- and one last thought! I haven’t implemented it, I’ve seen people using fabric draped over hangers as a way to store it and I love that idea because it can go UP, tends not to get as bad fold lines, and you don’t have to mess up a whole stack of fabric just to get one piece out (my current fabric issue)! You can stick a closet rod easily and cheaply on a set of shelves too. Most hardware stores will even cut the rod to size for free.

Answer: i’ve sometimes done lil art streams for friends before! i could use the same capture software to make speedpaints sometime.... i’ve been considering it for a while actually! 

my process can be a lil sloppy when i try to break it down into steps for tutorials so i think the best way to show + explain is through art streams (& video process)... 

i was thinking of starting art streams on twitch in the near future too... it’s just when i’ll finally be able to get setup finally that i’d be able to set a streaming schedule

It shows the struggle actors and actresses face on a daily basis if they don’t have any jobs at the moment and how small and unrewarding their performance could be if there was no impact within the industry. Despite this, however, Cuntapay shows resilience and passion in her line of work and her craft, so much she’s been doing this for 30 years and continues to work with what she loves doing in order to reach her goals.

The documentary film showcases several moral values and lessons that we all can learn a thing or two about. Lilia Cuntapay shows numerous examples of these and as a creative member of the arts and design field I feel like I can follow her example.

- Lilia Cuntapay shows us that with passion in our craft, our jobs don’t really seem like jobs at all, it’ll feel like a beneficial hobby because we just end up doing something we love doing. Having passion will let you continue what you do for years ultimately rewarding you in some way just as long as you love what you do.

B. Dedication

- For 30 years, Lilia Cuntapay has been acting in roles that aren’t necessarily big picture roles, her roles are usually horror movie roles and being an extra. However, it’s with her dedication that kept her working as an actress eventually leading her to a documentary such as Six Degrees of Separation of Lilia Cuntapay, winning a Best Actress award, securing more roles and ultimately being a recognized and respected actress in the field. Having dedication teaches us never to stop whenever an obstacle is in our way, we work around it and continue on. No matter how the going gets tough, so long as we don’t stop, we can do anything.

No matter how hungry we are for opportunities, some aren’t just given, we don’t have to chase certain awards either just to be labeled as a successful individual in your field of expertise. There’s no need to feel bad when we don’t have award winning opportunities or career defining work, just keep doing what you love and have the patience to build yourself up to your goals.

- In the film, we see the Barangay Chairman tell the director “every chance she (Cuntapay) has, she will help in any way she can.” Generosity comes a long way, being there to help the ones who were with you when you had nothing from the start is a fantastic feeling. The community around her were even the ones who supported her throughout her acting journey, all because as passionate as she was with acting, she was as passionate to help out her community.

F. Humility

- Lilia Cuntapay shows us that even though she starred in all this films, eventually winning multiple awards, she still stayed true to who she was and stayed true to those around her. She never let it get on to her head that she was an award winning actress, she stayed as wholesome as she was, and that’s how others should act as well, never forget your roots and stay true to yourself.

The film adds scenes where Cuntapay has a speech on a stage designed differently depending on the current event taking place. She is also seen wearing various outfits, and her speech would be about what has happened or what will happen, whether it was good or bad. At first I found it odd but when we start seeing more of these scenes throughout the film you might get the point that this could be just a part of her imagination. In the film she mentions having to prepare a speech and she asks for help preparing it, I assume the scenes on that stage are just a part of her imagination, preparing for her final speech when she accepts her reward. Sometimes she conveys her raw emotion in this imaginary stage rather than conveying them fully in person. Scenes where she thanks the lord, and her supporters or how sad and neglected she felt when the television did not include her interview. I feel as if she was being true to herself there, and at the beginning it may have seemed confusing but at the end you just get the gist of what’s happening and it all comes together by the end.

4. Complexity

The film begins with the question “Do you know Lilia Cuntapay?” I did not, I immediately thought she was an artist who painted, eventually we were introduced to who she was. Lilia Cuntapay is an actress, one who was primarily a horror movie actress and an extra. At this point I was intrigued as to what was going on, and as I watched the documentary you can’t help but feel so supportive of this sweet, passionate and cheerful elderly woman, and it’s so fun seeing her talk about her stories and having to see a community backing her, until of course it gets sad, and you can’t help but feel sad with her. The film gives you a bittersweet feeling of things and it makes you think about what the symbolic meanings were when the scenes of her coming up the stage meant, you couldn’t really understand much of it until you dwell deeper into the film which was great because you want to hear more of her story and how it ends. In the end, as a mockumentary, the film will exaggerate some parts of the story, while delivering what happened and what will happen as it records the current events taking place, so there isn’t much complexity as there is, personally I don’t see why because it’s a documentary film, so it’s perfectly fine as it is.

5. Originality

A mockumentary is a documentary film that spices things up, and yes it includes a different perspective into things with the scenes of Lilia Cuntapay’s speeches throughout the film. It's a topic following an elderly actress in the current industry is a topic followed by other documentaries however it is enjoyable seeing how her acting journey played out. Following an actress from horror movies seen by hundreds of thousands of people without actually knowing her name is actually interesting because you would be curious how it is like, and seeing the film industry from her perspective, especially seeing what she went through really opens your eyes to how hard things actually are.

Conclusion

Six Degrees of Separation of Lilia Cuntapay is a bittersweet indie mockumentary film that follows the acting journey of Lilia Cuntapay. Cuntapay delivers a fantastic performance that will have you cheer her on and be happy for her endeavors, however this film will also leave you sad for the harsh relatives of the film industry. I’m glad that I was able to watch this film for it actually became one of my favorite Filipino documentaries if not one of my favorite documentaries of all time. In conclusion, I can guarantee she might just be the sweetest ghost nanny the Philippines ever had. In the end, I’m finally glad I’ll be able to answer the question right at the beginning of this film; Lilia Cuntapay is a Filipina actress who never failed to strive for greatness, she is the center of our Philippine Hollywood, she is the Kevin Bacon of the Philippines, and she is an award winning actress. A solid 10/10 film with a perfect delivery from our titular character.
