Back with more orchids in bloom!
Here we go:
First one is Phal. Yaphon Pink Lady
She smells amazing!
Tumblr media
Next: Phal. Miki Black Angel
As of yet only one flower is open, I'll take more pics when she's in full bloom. She has some sunburns on the leaves from last year, but is doing fine.
Tumblr media
Next up: more NoID Phalaenopsis. Also including the obligatory white phal. that one gets as standard flower gifts. I've kept this one, but gave a lot of others away.

And last: This awesome NoID, that is maybe an oncidium? I'm not sure, but she looks amazing.

And some more closeups of the orchids I bought in Vienna. Still doing good, so there was fortunately no cold damage. One was full of lice though, had to spay her down yesterday.

I'm pretty maed for reasons I shall not explain. So, have some random pics I took of an orchid I got the other day. Not sure exactly which kind it is, but it is pretty and slightly fragrant.

Psychopsis Mendenhall ‘Hildos’ spotted blooming at a local nursery! These flowers are HUGE, and so interesting! I hope someday my little Psychopsis Memorial ‘Bill Carter’ can bloom this spectacularly.

Next up in my Orchid series:
Oncidium Sharry Baby Sweet Chocolate Fragrance
That's a mouthful...
But guess what? She does smell like Chocolate. Kinder chocolate, to be exact. That was a delightful surprise XD
She is also a massive Orchid and pretty new to my collection. She was already this big when I got her this summer, which was a surprise. I ordered her from an online nursery for about 15€. Thats really cheap here for a not standard sort Orchid this size. The others I got in the same order where absolutely dwarfed by this one, lol.
I had to instant repot her, though, because the pot she came in was NOT bigger that that of the other ones. Looked like a critically overfilled icecreamcone. Sadly don't have pictures of that.

I bought my grandma this Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Ruby Doll' about a year ago. She loves orchids and does amazing with Phalaenopsis, but this was her first nonphal orchid. She's been frustrated with it as she hasn't been able to get it to bloom yet. I told her that it probably just needs more time, but I thought I'd look online to see if I could help her to get it to bloom.
You can tell just by looking at it that this orchid has had a bit of a rough time. It's an import from Ecuador so it came to us looking a bit rough. It bounced back quickly and has put out a ton of new growth for us since then. Then at the beginning of this summer my grandma put it on the balcony and it got too much light and burned. My dog also ate a bit of it at some point, too. (he's fine, they're nontoxic) I thinking that it's possibly the stress of all this contributing to it not blooming?
